Chapter 11:
I awoke to the sun warming me from the early morning breeze. I sat up trying to blink away the light that gleamed through the sky only to have to lift my hands to guard my eyes from the sudden intrusion of brightness. I opened them after rubbing the grogginess away and looked around me to notice that I wasn't where I was supposed to be.
Damn, I woke up someplace else again.
I sat on top of the queen's castle, remembering that I had fallen asleep here. It wasn't the first time that I had fallen asleep in a random place before, and the queen's castle was no new trope of mine either. But I knew that the young master and the demon of a butler were going to be very suspicious and upset knowing that I wasn't in the manor. If I was going to not get caught, I had to get there before the Earl was woken up by Sebastian.
"HEY YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE!? WE HAVE A BURGLAR! GET THE GUARDS!"
I covered my face with my hand and flew off the roof as fast as I could. I couldn't dare to look behind me to see how far away I was because I couldn't allow the guards to see my face. No one, even those witnessing the circus, saw my wings. If people were to find out I have wings my life could be over before I even knew it.
My worries soon went from someone seeing my face to what I was going to tell the young master of my whereabouts. Almost everything that seemed plausible only sounded like a lie. I was stuck between lying and telling the truth, and so far the latter seemed like the better option.
As I flew closer to the window I left open from the previous night my stomach churned. My anxiety grew as I stepped on the window ledge and brought myself to a kneel on the floor. I turned to the open window and began slowly closing it. It creaked as it moved and I closed my eyes as I closed it, hoping that the sound would quiet down. It was still early enough for no one to be awake. But I also couldn't be too careless.
As the window shut I exhaled a long sigh and slumped over the small window seat.
"Celesta."
Shit...
I turned around to see the two people I hoped weren't awake. I stood up not knowing what else to do.
"Master."
"Would you mind telling me where you were last night." He glared at me as I stood in front of him.
"Out..."
"Don't deride me Celesta! Where were you!"
"I was taking my nightly stroll through the air and happened to land on the queen's roof."
I winced as he face contorted into rage.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"
I put my hands in the air as a sign of defense.
"I didn't mean to! I accidentally closed my eyes for too long."
Ciel pinched the bridge of his nose in irritation.
"Sebastian find a good punishment for her. I don't want to handle this."
Shit.

It had been hours since I last saw the butler and the Earl and I wanted to keep it that way.
I knew I spoke too soon as I stood in the kitchen eating a small snack when Sebastian entered through the door. His tall stature stood behind me, waiting for me to turn around.
The strawberry I held in between my teeth was sitting still, not being ground by my teeth as I turned around and face the dark clad butler.
"I do believe avoiding your punishment to be childish, Celesta."
"I wasn't avoiding you..."
"Then why haven't I seen you since this morning?"
"I was cleaning around the manor as required for my job."
"I want you to clean the entire manor, from top to bottom, without the help of the servants. They will receive a day off while you do their work. You will tend to the garden, you will cook the meals and you will clean the entire manor spotless as well as do the laundry."
"I won't be able to finish the entire manor today!"
"If I were you I would get some sleep. You have a busy day tomorrow." I wanted to wipe that shit eating grim off of his face but that wouldn't help my situation.
I stomped back to room in fury. It was already nuisance to help the trio with their chores considering that even with the short amount of time I knew them, they were incompetent with their jobs. It only angered me even more.
I opened my bedroom door and slammed it shut. The sun was still visible in the sky.
It's almost time for sunset...
I let out a heavy sigh as I realized that I wasn't tired. The trio, for today at least, weren't too much trouble. But every time they did something that involved the destruction of a certain part of the property, I avoided.
I looked out the small window on the wall and felt a sharp pain in the center of my back. I knew it had something to do with my wings, so I brought them out and tried to look at every area that I could flexibly see.
The very tips of my wings weren't as bright as they once were. The white looked as if it was fading and the majority of my wings were black.
Shit... I think I might have to ask Sebastian what the hell is going on...
