Chapter 14:

I untied my horse and hopped on, whipping the rein to start my journey back to the manor. I slowed down at the edge of London behind a carriage that seemed to be headed in the same direction as me. It looked like a palace carriage. The person in front of me stuck out their head. I turned into the nearest trees, hoping he only saw the rear end of my horse before I sped to the manor as fast I could.

I arrived near the horse stables and put my horse away. I ran through the kitchen's servant's door and leaned against the island in the center of the kitchen and caught my breath. I walked out of the kitchen and passed Bard and Mey-rin, saying hi to them as I made my way towards Sebastian's room.

I stopped upon hearing noises come from the kitchen. It made me turn around faster than I anticipated and I ran back to the kitchen and opened the door only to have a blade stop directly in front of my face.

Both Mey-rin and Bard were on the floor, shocked faces staring up at the man in front of me. Mey-rin's guns were sliced in half and lying on the floor while other items were strewn across the floor.

I finally turned to the one who had tried to plunge a sword into my skull. He had white hair and had a smug look on his face. A few feet behind him was another white-haired male. Though, he looked more stoic than his partner

"Now I believe there was not a letter received about two visitors. May I ask who you are?" I forced a smile on my face but my irritation was growing.

"I come to clean the young master's dishes and I am greeted with strangers," Sebastian said, walking in with the young master's snack dishes

"Ah let me introduce us. My name is Charles Grey and that in the corner is Charles Phipps. We are the queen's butlers and we have come with a message for Earl Phantomhive."

"Well if that's the case the young master is this way." Sebastian than led both butlers to the young master while I stayed behind to help Mey-rin and Bard.

I watched as the two white-haired men left and waited until the door was completely closed to turn to the two on the floor.

"Are you guys alright?"

Mey-rin put her glasses back on and spoke.

"We're alright, yes we are!"

"Yeah. Those lunatic just cut the door down and barged in 'ere without even tellin' us what they wanted!"

"Well, it'll be fine guys. If they act up Sebastian will handle them. Trust me. Plus, I don't think Sebastian would let them see the young master if he couldn't handle something as easy as those two."

I tried giving them my brightest closed eye smile to mask what I was truly thinking. I didn't like Grey. He left a nasty taste in my mouth that just made me cautious of him. He looked similar to the one I was trying to avoid in the palace carriage.

After I helped Mey-rin and Bard, I left to see the young master and found both Charles leaving his study. I bowed my head slightly, still looking in front of me and walked past the two, not uttering a single word in farewell. I knocked on the door of the study and walked in once I heard an "enter".

I saw the young master and Sebastian standing near the window, Sebastian behind Ciel and Ciel glaring at whatever caught his attention.

I walked to the window to see Phipps running to Finny. I could only faintly hear him say something about his attire and something about a proper butler.

"So young master... what is it that they needed to speak to you about if I may ask?"

"The queen is not pleased with my report for the Arch. We will be hosting a banquet in about two weeks. Until then I want you and Sebastian to send out letters for the guest. Oh and Celesta, Grey will attend with the Queen's cousin, so prepare a special room for the two."

My face immediately went sour as I processed Ciel's words.

"Consider it done young master," Sebastian spoke.

I stood next to Sebastian as he bent to one knee. I sighed and bowed with my left arm behind my back and right hand on my heart.

"Of course, young master."
