Chapter 19:

The entire morning I couldn't shake off the chills that came with the thought of the queen's cousin coming to visit. There was this overpowering feeling that something was going to go wrong, and not just because Ciel had something planned either. As I stood next to Sebastian in the main hall, I grasped my hands together to calm my nerves.

It was only a matter of minutes until the arrival of the guests. Each of them different. Even now, standing in front of the front entrance door, I couldn't understand why the young Earl chose the people he did to invite.

Sebastian and I looked at the three servants standing in front of us. Sebastian's eyes burned with a seriousness that the servants began shaking in fear from his gaze.

"Alright you lot here is today's order," Sebastian said," today is the day where the queen's cousin a few other guests are arriving. They need to be given the full Phantomhive hospitality possible. I want you all to make sure this mansion is spotless before the guests arrive. Do not, I repeat do not, mess up."

"He said it twice." the others murmured.

Too soon there was a knock at the door and all five of us stared at it in hopes that it wasn't an actual person who knocked on the door and just our imagination. I walked to the door and the others went to the ballroom and Sebastian stood by the stairs waiting to retrieve everyone's coats.

As each one came I opened the door and they all waited until the very last guest came in to head to the dining room. Arthur Conan Doyle. I felt pity as I watched him shaking and trembling in his shoes as he stepped through the door. His palms were sweaty as well as his forehead.

As he waltzed in a bit more, a lady with big breasts ran into Arthur. She stayed on him giving him a perfect view of the top of her breasts and he looked like he looked down noticing their proximity. His face immediately began to darken and he sputtered with the woman still clinging on him. She let go of him and walked to a Chinese man who apologized for her not watching where she was going. He then began explaining that he was a manager of a trading company for Shangai and his name was Lau, the woman's name was Ran Mao. They started getting into their little conversation while I, being the subtle eavesdropper, listened while walking away. It seemed like an innocent conversation but judging by Lau's tone of voice it seemed like he was investigating him.

Why would the Earl invite such a creepy bloke?

Soon the Earl came down with Sebastian by his side, looking younger than he did before. I hadn't realized that Sebastian had left in the first place. I then noticed everyone's coats still on, yet to be taken.

"I would appreciate it if you would stop teasing my guests, Lau."

"He's so... young," Arthur said surprised.

"Surprising isn't it? That a child would bear such a title," Lau spoke.

My ears perked up at the sound of horse hooves and carriage wheels and I opened the door to see a new guest arriving.

"Hello, and welcome, I'd like to thank you all for coming to my small party. I'm the Earl of this fine estate, Ciel Phantomhive. I know we shall have an excellent time. I look forward to greeting everyone, whether you be an acquaintance or someone I'm meeting for the first time." Ciel stopped for a moment to analyze who has attended. "I don't see our intended guest, Sebastian."

The guest that I held the door open for was still exiting the carriage. No one seemed to notice his appearance outside.

"It seems he is running late due to the inclimate weather," someone spoke.

"We can't just leave them in the hall-"

"Excuse me, Young Master," I interrupted, "it seems that the guest we were waiting for has arrived at last."

Charles Grey and George Siemens entered the room and introduced themselves to the people that were waiting impatiently for them. Ciel took the guests of honor to the dining room while Sebastian and I listed off all of the people that were remaining and took their coats.

Sebastian and I entered the dining hall to find everyone socializing with each other as we stepped to the side to not be noticed. It made me feel uncomfortable seeing so much nobility in one place. The faux happiness was uncomfortable to watch and I was regretting to ever agree to do this.

I noticed the lack of the other three servants walking around the room and grabbed a tray of wine. My blood was pounding in my ears as I watched everyone in small groups. I was glad that Arthur Doyle was the only one not in a group because he would be my first attempt at properly serving,

"Would you like a glass of wine sir," I asked politely.

"Oh yes please."

I tried putting on my best smile to seem polite. But as soon as Arthur looked up he had stars in his eyes that made him look adorable. I walked away leaving him alone to his thoughts only to hear Ciel ask to sit down next to him.

I continued walking around and glancing at everyone partying or working. I noticed the hunk of meat that Sebastian was cutting, only to regret my life choices as I felt my stomach rumble.

After an hour of talking and small dancing everyone, especially Siemen was drunk. I watched as he started touching Lady Irene without permission, causing her to slap him in self-defense. His face turned beet red as he got mad. He picked up a glass full of white wine and threw it in the direction that Irene was in. I didn't think of the consequences but I threw myself in front of her. I was glad that I was taller than her. She was dry and I stood in front of her, hair and clothes damp with white wine.

"Celesta are you alright," Ciel asked.

"Of course, young master," I said.

Ciel looked towards Siemen and spoke with clarity and authority.

"Please, this is a party. I ask you both to step away-"

Everyone stood watching the scene with mouths open in shock. Grimsby was seething a few feet away as he grabbed a full bottle of wine. His cheeks were as rosy as Siemen's as he threw the bottle without a second thought. Before the other's could process what was happening Sebastian ran and grabbed the bottle along with a chair and place it next to the table of glasses towering above each other. He poured the light yellow liquid as everyone turned to face him. Mouths were dropped in awe as the wine began to sparkle in the light.

"Here we have a rare wine from the village Bugari. I hope you have a glass this evening," Sebastian said.

Sebastian began handing out the glasses as he was the only one capable of reaching the top of the stack.

As he was handing out the glasses I stood next to Ciel as he stood in the corner with Arthur Doyle.

"I will have Sebastian get you a towel Celesta. I don't want my maid drenched the entire night."

Sebastian made his way over us, towel in one hand and wine in the other. He handed the wine to the Earl and the towel to me.

"You look drenched, sweetheart. And your clothes are all wet."

"I'm fine Sebastian. Just hand me the towel and I'll dry myself."

"Are you sure you're alright Celesta?" Ciel asked.

"Yes. That incompetent ass can't bring my spirits down that easily."

Sebastian and Ciel spoke in French. The words translating strangely in my ears. A few of the words were heard easily through my ears while others were still foreign. I looked over to Arthur Doyle to see him intently listening in on the conversation, and laugh near the end of the Earl's sentence. Ciel glance at him with a wink and a silently mischievous "shhh" to accompany it.

Ok, everyone this chapter is finished and I don't know when I will update this again but it will be in about two weeks or more. So wait for me, my children. BYE ^_^
