Alright... Before you all yell at me I have a perfectly good explanation for not updating in a whole ass three months. As I think I've mentioned before that I am a part of orchestra, choir and a few AP classes as well. And because of those reasons I have been busy and also crying because along the way I lost the friendship of two best friends that now hate me forever. So I'm sorry if this chapter seems a bit saddening but please bear with me. Also, I think this might be the last chapter seeing as how I have continued this story long enough. I might make a sequel for the book of Atlantic but only if you all want to. So please please please comment if you want another sequel that goes either by the Atlantic plot or a plot made by me. Onward good readers. Revised on May 23, 2020
Chapter 26:
"So Ciel..." I couldn't hold back my laughter. Sebastian forced Ciel to wear nothing but Sebastian's jacket, and being small he couldn't fit in his jacket. It went below his knees and almost to his ankles. "How are you this fine evening."
"Unless you want to live in the streets I suggest you stop laughing at me."
"Oh come you know it's funny. Even Sebastian is chuckling a little. And Sebastian never laughs." I pointed to Sebastian who was standing behind the Earl with a hand covering his mouth and his shoulders shaking as he chuckled silently. His face went stoic as I pointed to him.
"Enough. You're giving me a headache."
I continued chuckling a little and moved over to where Sebastian stood as he moved in front of the young master.
"Alright young master it is time to switch," Sebastian said.
All three of us headed in the direction of the young master's bedroom. The Earl and the other guests were put in the room across from the Earl's room. The plan was to give Ran Mao the young master's clothes to mask her scent and give her his scent in order to lure what Sebastian thought was the suspect out.
Everyone agreed with the plan and continued to their respected places and waited for the time of the murderer to come out. I sighed as the time passed and crouched int he corner of the room behind a dresser. A sound was heard and everyone tensed in anticipation.
The killer, I thought.
We watched as Ran Mao stayed in the bed and waited for Jeremy's signal to catch the killer.
"Wait... NOW!" Jeremy yelled.
Ran Mao sprang up from the bed and covered the suspect with the blanket. Grey attempting to slaughter it on the spot, ran forwards screaming until Jeremy stopped him.
"Miss Celesta if you would please consign the writhing."
Without speaking I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around what felt to be a snake. I held onto it as carefully as I could to prevent it from suffocation. All of us headed to the room where the young master was waiting. I walked behind everyone, next to Jeremy as I took a small peak at the snake in the blanket.
"Oh no..." I whispered to myself.
Tanaka was the first person to enter the room and speak.
"Excuse me but I have come to inform you that they have apprehended the culprit."
"And quite an unexpected one at that," Grey said. I handed the snake over to Jeremy to see him tie it around itself. "Don't hurt him Sebastian," I whispered, low enough for only him to hear.
Jeremy walked into the room with a smile on his face and began talking. "Allow me to introduce the killer."
Everyone stared with wide eyes in revelation, not taking their eyes off of the snake.
"Excuse me young master but it is true. He attacked Miss Ran Mao since she carries your scent," I said.
"A Black Mamba," Jeremy began, "is native to Southern Africa. Its venom contains potent neurotics. The killer gave it a whiff of the Earl's scent in order for it to find him and kill him. Though no matter what, a snake is a snake. It wouldn't be able to identify another person if they were covered in the Earl's scent."
I couldn't help but look at the snake. I knew it was one of Snake's snakes. Feeling obliged to, I grabbed the snake from Jeremy and began putting it in the little pot that was next to him. It made me believe that Snake was somewhere on the premise, perhaps hiding but I wanted to find him. If his snake was here than that meant that he was here as well. Most likely for revenge but I didn't care. I had to see him because I missed him.
"I didn't do it!" Woodly yelled. Grey's sword grazed Woodly's neck as he detained him and Woodly attempted to prove his innocence.
"Pardon me Mr. Grey," the young master spoke, "I have a new bit of jewelry he should try on. I think it fits him." Ciel held up the chains that were once bound to him and Arthur. I looked over at Grey and saw his eyes holding anger at the young boy. I looked at Ciel and saw amusement. His eyes held humor in them for outsmarting the Queen's butler.
"Young master, I believe the police shall be in here in the morning to take care of him," I stated.
"Yes. That brings our investigation to an end."
"Than what was that bottle of red liquid that Mey-rin found?"
"Finny that doesn't matter anymore!" she said covering his mouth.
"Oh yes," Jeremy continued, "The maid found a bottle in one of the rooms," he took a thick bottle containing red liquid in it.
"Is this what you found?"
"Yes exactly!" Mey-rin said pointing at it.
"This," Jeremy walked over to Irene and gave her the bottle, "and your young appearance led the servants to believe that you were a vampire."
While they were conversing about the vampire situation I walked back over to where the snake was. I opened the lid to the pot and saw inside of it. The snake hissed at first but soon began to calm itself and tried to get out of the pot as it slowly slid upwards. I grabbed the snake after five minutes of waiting for everyone to leave and began talking to it.
"Is Snake here?" He nodded his head. "Do you know where he is right now?" The snake shook his head.
My shoulders slumped in disappointment. I wanted to look for him but I couldn't. My senses weren't as sharp as Sebastian's. My powers only went so far when it came to stealing. I sighed as I decided to wait for the case to be officially over to go searching the grounds for Snake.
"Alright, I'm gonna put you back in the pot but only because I don't want the young master and Sebastian to get mad at me for letting you out. So goodbye for now and I'll get you in the morning."
I placed the snake back into the pot and started heading to the dining room. I expected to see everyone there only to see Jeremy by himself, cleaning up the leftover silverware. I used the little bit of sensing ability that I had and tried to sense if there was anyone else around the area that both of us were in, only to find that everyone was in their respected room, even the young master.
"So Sebastian, what's the plan now?"
"Now we wait until the morning. Would you mind helping me Celesta?"
"Sure." I was helping him place the plates and the cups on the trolley and couldn't help but think of how the atmosphere between us felt different. It felt more accepting.
"Sebastian..." Both of us began walking to the kitchen.
"Yes Celesta?"
"Lately it's been harder to sleep. And if I do sleep it's only for a few hours yet I still wake up somewhat refreshed. It's also been hurting to take out my wings as well as if it was being stabbed and the sore feeling that comes after being stabbed."
We entered the kitchen with me following behind Sebastian. I took the plates and washed them in the sink while being handed other dishes from Sebastian as I cleaned.
"I would like it if you showed me your wings."
Bringing out my wings I fanned them out. They were still pitch black, maybe even a little darker. It was too black to where you couldn't evens see the outline of my feathers. He began examing the crevice of my back through the very unnoticeable slit on the back of my uniform and glided his fingers over the crevice of where my wings connected to my back.
I dried my hands on the towel that Sebastian handed to me after he moved back.
"Your transformation is almost complete."
"What the hell are you talking about? What about a transformation?"
"I can smell it on you now that you have your wings on display."
Sebastian leaned closer to me and smelled my neck as he clasped my hands to prevent me from attacking.
"There is a small symbol on your back that proves who you belong to..."
"I don't belong to anyone!" I sneered. I glared at the man encapturing me against the counter of the kitchen.
"You belong to me, my mate."
Ok screw what I said earlier. One more chapter and than maybe a sequel.
