Hello everyone, and it's time to dig deep into the shocker of Bella's sudden interest in Rider and how this will turn out.

Chapter 13 – No Idea

Edward's POV

I just stood there in complete shock as I looked at the magazine that was now in my hands where each page shows pictures of Bella and Rider together in what appears to have been taken recently. Photos of the two side by side, close together, smiling to one another, laughing together, things that makes them look like a couple.

"Netflix and Paramount Pictures' Awesomeness Films confirmed of the sequel to Jenny Han's To All The Boys I Loved Before from her second book of the series, "P.S. I Still Love You," is scheduled to be released," Ben read off from the magazine I'm holding as everyone gathered around me. "Immediately after the release of the first film where it met with international success, Jenny stated she was excited for the sequel."

Seth tugged my arms towards him so that he could read out what was next. "It was confirmed that Bella Swan, who plays Lara Jean Covey, and Jacob Black, as Peter Kavinsky, will return as the main characters of the film along with other familiar faces."

Heidi tugged my arms the other way for her turn to read. "The sequel has also casted some new faces into the franchise, including Kyle Prescott as Trevor Pike, Peter's best friend, and teen heartthrob sensation Rider Daniels as John Ambrose McClaren, a past love of Lara Jean's, who has worked with Bella and Jacob in the hit TV show, Rainbow Garden for two seasons as Jett Mayfield, who is also the love interest of Bella's character, Evelyn Walker, before he left the show to pursue other interests in his career."

Angela took a turn to read next. "The casting was revealed yesterday confirmed by the production team after they held their auditions for the characters of the film. There, Bella, and Rider show themselves as Lara and John where they were reunited leaving fans of the film to see if Lara may choose John over Peter, or what could be another love triangle like in The Vampire Stories Chronicle Saga Trilogy. But that wasn't the only major news that made fans of Rainbow Garden and To All The Boys go crazy."

Demetri got right in as if on cue as he read what was next. "Despite that Rider left the show causing sadness to the fans, he remains in good contact with his fellow costars, including Bella. When the two were reunited for the second film of the novel, not only their on-screen romance was rekindled, but their off-screen relationship couldn't be contained from everyone to know the truth."

Alec jumped in to read more of it. "Rider said in the interview that he always has feelings for Bella, and she did too during filming. However, they felt that it wasn't professional for them to do so as if news already surface that their fellow costars Alice Brandon and Jasper Whitlock, and Emmett McCarty and Rosalie Hale, are together respectively was crazy enough. But when they got the chance to work together again, they felt that they can no longer hold back their feelings to one another due to professionalism anymore."

Seth got his turn back on the next section. "Bella herself has stated that she always felt close to Rider apart from her fellow costars as they work together during filming of the show. And that closeness turns into affection as she always knew that Rider is the one she wants to be with."

Angela took another turn at the magazine. "Fans being happy about their relationship coming to life is an understatement." She read. "They are overjoyed as they have shipped them from the beginning of Rider's debut to the show to be together, despite their hopes of Bella and Jacob to be together the same way as their onscreen characters and now their dreams are about to become a reality as they now see one of the new upcoming hottest couples of Hollywood, just like Bella's parents Charlie and Renee Swan."

Ben finished off with the last few sentences. "Film is set to be schedule next month as P.S. I Still Love you will premiere in February of 2019 while the third and final film Always And Forever is already been announced for production next year, but in the meantime, everyone will be talking about the young couple." He finishes. "Is this for real?!" He asked Jane and Jessica in complete.

"According to media which is trending with hashtags, Bella and Rider. Everyone's talking about it. Their relationship is even the most tweeted topic on Twitter going 380,000 tweets per minute, breaking Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus's controversy at the MTV Video Music Awards a few years ago." Jane said pulling out her phone where she showed us on Twitter where indeed, the hashtag featuring Bella and Rider is the number one topic on the media.

"I just can't believe this." Jessica said as she was looking at a different copy of the magazine that talks about Bella and Rider. "How could she be into Rider? She made it very clear that she doesn't like him. How could she be totally into him now?" She asked like things weren't making sense at all.

"Well… maybe she gave him a chance. Or she just… wants him to shut up and get it over with. I don't know." Ben said as he was running his hand through his hair.

"Bella does look a bit genuine in the photos so maybe it is true." Heidi said look at Jessica's copy.

"I wonder what changed." Seth said.

"Edward," Alec said, noticing I haven't said a word since I saw the article and just stood there and listened, like I was forced to against my will for someone's pleasure as they watch me suffer. "Are you okay dude?"

It was then I was snapped out of it seeing that my friends were staring at me and I nearly fell apart.

"I… I gotta go." I said and before they could say anything, I took off running, breaking through the mix of the crowd.

"I knew those two would end up together!"

"Bella and Rider are so meant to be!"

"They are so cute together!"

"Damn, what does Bella see in him?"

"Lucky Bella, he's so dreamy!"

"I wonder how we're going to call them."

I try my best to tune out all the sounds and voices from everyone. I always had when it comes to reading people's behavior, but no matter how much I tried to shut it down, more kept coming. More saying about Bella and Rider this and Bella and Rider that. The more I hear about them, the faster I kept on running until I was out of the school building and ran straight into my car where I got in and locked myself. All while dealing with a heart that has been shattered.

I looked at the magazine that I was still holding and stared at the photo of Bella and Rider on the front cover and how they were interacting as I remember what she said in the article. All of that causes me to see nothing but red as I scrunch the magazine in my hand, grabbed the steering wheel, banged my head on it as I gave out a yell. Once I was able to let all the anger out, the sadness took over.

How could she? How could Bella decide to be with him? Rider of all people! Did something happened between them when she came back to L.A.? And what about us? What happened between us? I thought things were going well. I mean, sure, we haven't been physically together for almost a week, but nothing could be wrong apart from that. Could she have given up on us? Why? I thought she was committed to this relationship. Was everything that happened between us even real? I feel so… hurt and… betrayed. Not to mention angry at the two people that broke everything inside me!

I lifted my head up when I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out to see who it is that's calling me. One of the two people I'm pissed at.

I answered the call, cleared my throat before I placed the phone to my ear. "Hello." I answered in an even voice, masking out the tone within my voice.

"Edward, I can totally explain!" Bella exclaimed.

"Okay, explain." I said with my arms folded.

There was silence. "I can't." Bella said in defeat. Of course she fucking can't. I thought as I let a noise like that was typical for someone to answer that way. "I mean I can't explain how they announce such bullshit, but I can explain about the photos!"

Her words slowly got my attention. Slowly. "Go on." I said cautiously.

"There was a casting for John in the To All The Boys sequel," Bella started explaining. "I was there to assist the boys on the casting to see how well I work together with them, and Rider was there." She let out a huff of frustration. "I wasn't happy about that part but I went along with it despite his unnecessary advances. They never told me who got the part! All the boys who audition were only a few as promotion to get more boys to try out which they would announce on a billboard they said."

"Is what I'm holding sound like a billboard to you?!" I snapped, holding out the magazine that is being spoken of. Even though Bella couldn't see it.

"Listen to me Edward, I neversaid those things in that article. I was never even interviewed! No one told me about it until my friends and Charlie and I found out." Bella said. "You know I don't like Rider in that way. Hell, I don't even like him as a friend nor as a person! You know me better than anyone! More than my friends, your friends, my fans, Renee, even Charlie. I would never leave you for someone like Rider. You're the one I want. You know I love you. Please, you have to believe me, Edward. I would never walk away from our relationship. Please." She begged, and from the other line, I can hear her crying, which breaks my heart even more as I hear her side of things. And the more she spoke, the more I feel like dumbass for believing such bullshit.

Of course I should've known Bella better than anyone. She is not the kind of person who dumps someone for another person she sees better. And she doesn't like Rider at all. Her friends don't like him, Charlie doesn't like him. Only Renee. And what's more, I know better than to trust her over the media without logic sense, because nothing in the magazine does. Pictures and words may say one thing, but it's behind it what counts, and I nearly fell for the cover of the book, over my trust in Bella.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down before I spoke. "I'm so sorry, Bella." I said. And I meant it. "I guess I was being irrational when I saw the article and my emotions got the best of me. I know you would never just leave me for someone else, especially Rider."

"Ugh, I'd rather marry a guy with no arms and a dick than be with Rider." Bella then gasped. "Sorry, I guess I turned off my filter with those words." She said causing me to actually laugh.

"It's fine Bella." I said.

"So…"

"So…" I encouraged.

"You believe me?" She asked.

"Bella, relationships is all about trust, and they're also about talking things out. I know full well about Rider before getting to know you. If you said that you never liked him and never said those things in the article, then I believe you." I said.

"Edward, I'm sorry you had to see that. If I had known that was going to happen, I would've stop it." Bella said. "I'm going to see the network publicist right now to get to the bottom of this to know where they even get such bullshit."

"I wish I was coming with you." I said.

"Same, but I don't want to draw attention if you're involved. Besides, Charlie is going with me and get things straight. Hopefully, they will write a retraction of creating a false article without any sources coming from me." Bella said. "Not to mention my approval.

"If you say so." I said.

"Edward," Bella said. "I will make things right. I will make them retract their statement about me and Rider. I'm sure they will take my side since I'm America's Princess." She teased.

"Now who's full of themselves." I chuckled as Bella giggled.

"I'm going to go now. I will let you know what's going on and how it turns out." Bella said.

"Okay love, just be careful." I said. "And Bella?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too." Bella said. "I'll talk to you later."

"I'll call you after I get home from practice." I said. Bella agreed and after saying one last goodbye, we hung up. I sighed as I leaned back on my seat dropping the phone to my lap while running my hand through my hair. That's when I heard tapping on the other side of my car. I looked to see it was Angela and I allowed her in.

"Are you okay, Edward?" She asked as she got herself settled in my car.

"How'd you know I'd be in here?" I asked her in surprised.

"Edward, I've known you since kindergarten." Angela said, rolling her eyes. "You always take off running and go places when something upsets you. That year, you burst out of the classroom and onto the playset when Mike embarrassed you at show and tell of your blanket, which you still use,"

"Ahem," I said, in a way telling her that there was no need to elaborate.

"In fourth grade, you ran off to the bathroom after Jennifer Mitchell completely laughed when you confessed your feelings to her and then she humiliated you in front of everyone," Angela continued.

"Angela,"

"When we were twelve, you got upset when the Seahawks lost against the Rams and that was due to the referees making a bad call penalizing the wide receiver when it was the defender at fault and you ran out of the house, straight to the park and sulked on the merry-go-round." Angela went on.

"Okay, you can stop –,"

"Sophomore year, you cut school in the middle of the day after you got the call that your grandfather passed away, despite that he was a total asshole,"

"Angela! What are you doing here?" I asked in annoyance.

"Are you okay? You seemed pretty upset about the whole Bella and Rider news." Angela said in concern.

I sighed and thought it out briefly on how to explain it before I said, "Sorry, I just can't believe Bella is actually dating Rider when we all know that she's not interested in him."

"I get it." Angela said. "I'm not saying that it's because it's the whole fan boy crush thing, you just don't like him. We all hate him, but if Bella is actually gonna give him a chance, then… well, we might as do the same."

Yeah, be the fans who are that dense to think Bella and Rider are perfect for each other. I thought. If only they knew about me and Bella. Well, let's hope Bella gets to the bottom of this scam.

"Come on Edward, we're going to be late for class." Angela said. I sighed as we both got out of my car and walked in side the building. Angela and I both went our separate ways as I went to my class.

On my way, I passed by Mike with Tyler and Austin who engrossed in their conversation.

"I don't fucking believe this." Mike complained.

"I know. Can't believe they actually are going out." Austin said.

"No, how could Bella be with that guy over me?" Mike huffed. Why am I not surprised?

"Dude, she doesn't even know you." Tyler said.

"She saw me at her concert." Mike said causing me to roll my eyes. "She's totally into me! And even if she didn't see me, she could've at least waited once I get into the NFL."

"So once you graduate high school, you're expecting Bella to wait for you in three to four years while you're in college playing ball there?" Austin asked.

"Pff, I don't need a degree to get into the NFL." Mike scoffed. "And besides, once they see how great I am in the first year, they will say I can go straight to the draft where I know the best teams will take me to be their starting quarterback. That way, Bella won't wait long to be with me! Move aside Tom Brady, you're no longer the goat." He boasted.

I walked passed them as I once again rolled my eyes. Mike is a complete dumbass to think he'll get into the NFL that easily. It's not that you need an education to get into football, (but you do have to study the plays in order to do well), it's just something you need incase things don't go well for you or something to be prepared when we retire one day. Not to mention it's the responsibility of a student athlete. Also, he would need a few years in college in order to be eligible for draft. One year isn't enough even if he played all games. And another thing, there are other quarterbacks besides me that are just as talented and every one of them will be picked to help their team win a Super Bowl. Hopefully, I make it.

I made my way into the classroom just as the warning bell rang as I sat in my seat and got my things ready for the lesson. As the teach began the class, all I can focus on was Bella and hope the scandal resolves soon.

"So, I take it that practice went well?" Carlisle asked when I came into the kitchen after I got home from practice. I held out the magazine to show my father in answering his question. He sighed at the sight of it. "I'm not at all surprised about Hollywood."

"Bella's is finding out who leaked the false information." I explained.

"Yeah, she's been the talk at the hospital." Carlisle said. "They make it sound like they're on Rider's side than Bella's. Though I don't know what's going on or who's idea was it." That's when my phone started vibrating in my pocket.

"Guess we're about to find out." I said as I excuse myself and went upstairs. I tossed my bag aside before sitting on bed right on time to answer her call. "Hey, love." I greeted her with a warming welcome tone and a smile on my face.

"Hey." Bella said in a tone that was not how I wanted to hear.

"Hey?" I repeated in her tone to be sure I heard her correctly.

"Hey!" Bella said cheerfully, only it was sarcastic. I can tell.

"Hey!" I said in an offended tone.

"Sorry," Bella sighed. "I guess I'm just pissed off."

"That bad I'm guessing?" I asked.

"Worse than you think." Bella replied.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Well there I was with Charlie, we walked right into the office of the network publicist of the show." Bella began. "With her was Rider and his manager, and surprise, surprise, my mother." I'm already not liking where this is going. "The publicist stated that "our story" is already making headlines and boosting To All The Boys movie sequel before we even began production. That's why she suggest that we do the relationship; going to interviews and red carpets together and such as Hollywood's hottest couple."

The hell? Is the publicist lady that stupid to think of creating a scandal for Bella to fake her relationship with Rider? Hell, she's making Bella lie to the world about this!

"And your mom and Rider's manager agreed to this? Rider knew about it?" I asked in disbelief.

Bella let out a frustrated noise in the background. "Would you believe that it was all Rider's idea and he was the one who made up the whole thing and blabbed it to E News and the rest of the media before telling our publicist about it?"

WHAT THE FUCK?!

"What?!" I cried in complete outrage.

"Yeah, Rider just told the press that he and I are dating and how I'm "crazy about him and we're "madly in love."" Bella said in disgust. Okay, I don't care if I end up in jail thus ruining my dreams to be in the NFL, but I'm going to find Rider and beat his ass!

"And everyone is buying that bullshit?!" I asked, being extremely pissed at him and those people that are so stupid to believe this. "Where's the photo evidence or other sources that confirms it, which you and I know there is none?"

"Well obviously if someone like Rider spoke of it, then that's all the proof they need." Bella explained.

"Okay, well what happened after that?" I asked, needing to understand how it all came down to Bella being upset now.

"Charlie was ready to go all Hunter Stone on Rider and the others for spreading the scam but Renee stepped in how she doesn't see what the problem is." Bella said and before I could ask what doesn't Renee get, she continued on adding, "She thought it was already over between you and me, which was like the fiftieth time!"

Of fucking course that doesn't surprise me about Renee. I don't get how she could side with Rider and agreed to it. Then something occur to me.

"So the publicist then knows about us?" I asked in confusion, and worried that our relationship is one step closer to exposure. "She realized she created a huge scandal of a mistake?"

Bella sighed. "She showed no sympathy about it, and I don't want to repeat the words Charlie said to her."

Okay, so they're not budging nor are they retracting their statement about Bella's relationship with Rider. All of this just for publicity while Rider gets the pleasure to date Bella. And what does Bella get? Live the life of lying? Like fucking hell she should. There must be a way for Bella to get out of it and not lie to the world about their "relationship," because I've seen celebrities who have fake dated for publicity and promotion and looked how that ended.

"Can't you say something like you and Rider broke up?" I suggested. That caused Bella to give out a sarcastic laugh.

"That's exactly what I asked and Rider just laughed out thinking I would "ever dump him." I had to hold Charlie back again before he could cause a scandal harming Rider." Bella said and sadly continued. "Besides, Renee said that if I "broke up" with Rider, than everyone will sympathizes him. Which not only will I be replaced from To All The Boys films, but I will also lose my fans who will turn on me thus me, Bella Swan, isn't America's princess as every thinks I am."

Unbelievable. I thought. So many people I'm hating that's ruining Bella's life.

First, there's Rider for a being self-centered selfish prick who's persisted on dating Bella that he would take the pleasure to lie to the media where he doesn't see what's wrong with it as if Bella and I never dated. Honestly, what do fan girls see in him? Are they that stupid to fall for his looks to see past his personality and how he is like when he lets fame gets to him. Are they really going to defend him over Bella who had nothing to do with and wanted no part to be with him? Are they really expecting those two to end up together? This is real life! Not a television show.

Then, there's Renee who continues to take control of Bella's life where she not only is siding with Rider, but think it's a great idea to fool people with scams for fame and to tell Bella who she can and cannot date. In this, Rider is famous and I'm not. Not yet at least. Some manager Renee is being. Hell, some mother she is. No offense to Charlie by what does he see in her? How is he not stopping this? Not the scandal but Renee's control over Bella?

And last, are the entertainment media. Those who create stories of celebrities, true or not, just to gain some popularity along with TV ratings where they have failed to gain their resources if Rider and Bella are indeed dating. I guess it's like Jacob told me, Hollywood survives by creating illusions by making up stories just to earn a few bucks and fame, and everyone believes it thus making things hard for stars like Bella and her friends who try their best to show the truth to the world.

Now, everyone is buying the story from Rider that he and Bella are indeed dating, that Bella has always loved him. Renee is there to support him over her support for Bella. I'm not sure how Charlie is handling the situation, but even so, since Rider won't break up with Bella because of his obsession for her, if Bella tries to break up with him, Bella will lose the popularity she has with her fans and the media. Her whole career could go downhill all because of the people who didn't allow Bella to have a say in it nor did they tell Bella about it so she can say "Fuck no!" Who knew Hollywood could be so twisted.

I thought for a moment…. and I took a deep breath before I said something that the both of us won't like. "Bella," I began. "You should go through with it."

"What?" Bella said sharply intaking a breath.

"Bella, you should go along with the story that you and Rider are dating." I said.

"What? Edward, are you crazy? Did you get tackled so hard in practice that left you a concussion or something?" Bella asked like I was mad, which I probably was.

"Listen to you talking in sport terms." I teased a bit. Bella wasn't amused.

"Not funny, Edward. You can't be serious about breaking up." Bella said, sounding hurt.

"Bella, I'm not saying we have to break up," I assured her. "Listen, right now, nobody but our families and your friends know about our relationship. Now because of Rider, it makes things a bit harder to tell everyone about us. If you tell them that your relationship with him was a big scam, not only you might lose your fans and possibly your career, but people may be asking you why and what's going on, which could probably lead to us and that could cause a bigger scandal that could also have the world turn on you.

Let's just play along with it until this relationship of yours with Rider dies out. Who knows, Rider may tell everyone that you and he decided to end the relationship but he actually moved on quickly to the next girl he chases after." I finished.

"I would feel sorry for the girl." Bella finally gave out a light chuckle. "Edward, I don't like the idea of lying to everyone about this. Not to mention, I don't like, no wait scratch that, I hate the idea of doing things with Rider in front of the camera just to show them we are dating."

"You won't have to do anything I'm sure. If you have to walk together with him, you'll just be holding hands and just hug. With Rider making things appropriate." I added. "And if you're being told to kiss, well… I'm sure you'll find a way out of it, but Rider better not plan on it, whether in privacy or public." Because he better not give me a reason to get on a plane and kill him.

"Edward, I hate the idea of pretend dating someone I despise, especially for some stupid publicity," Bella said. "But… after what you said, you brought up valid points. I don't want to expose you from Rider's scandal. That's not how I want to tell everyone about you, especially now that fans have high hopes about me to be with someone they like."

She paused for a moment. "I'll go through with it, I'm not happy about this as much as you are, just so you know, but this is only until Charlie and I can figure out a way out of this scam. A way where not only I get Rider out of my life for good, but also while maintaining my career."

"Believe me, love, I don't like this as much as you do, but I'm going have to deal with this in order for you to protect yourself from any controversy." I said.

"What did I do to deserve you?" Bella said sadly.

"I ask myself the same thing." I said. "I love you."

"I love you." Bella said.

We spoke for a few minutes before it was getting late and we hung up saying goodnight. After that, I flopped on my back as I stare at the ceiling at what is happening to Bella, to me, to us.

I hope I'm not making the biggest mistake of our lives.

Unbelievable huh? Points to Edward for at least willing to stay strong and having faith in Bella's loyalty to him. The question is, how will Bella get over it. How would Edward handle it?
