"I've trained you as best as I could given the circumstances and the limited time we have," Piccolo said. "But you're not finished yet."
Gohan stood before him and Nail, his red cape flowing with the wind.
"I understand." he said. "What's our next move?"
Piccolo smiled and closed his eyes.
"UA High. They have the facilities and staff to help finish your training. Unfortunately, I can only lay the foundation for your training, but the rest is up to you. I need you to keep getting stronger until you fully master your quirk. I know that what I'm asking of you won't be easy. Only the best of the best make it into UA. But I have faith in you and in your abilities, Gohan. You have what it takes to go beyond."
Piccolo turned to face away from him.
"And then there's All Might," he said. "He is teaching at UA this year. As the last person to see your father alive, I'm sure he can shed light into what exactly happened that night all those years ago."
"Right," Gohan said. He thought back on the picture that the mysterious third party had sent him while he was in the hospital. All Might had clearly been close to his father. Piccolo was right. If anyone could tell him exactly what had happened that night, it would be him.
"There's a written and physical entrance exam you have to take," Piccolo was saying. "So I want you to go back to Namek and rest there for the next three weeks and gather your energy for the exams."
"But if we're going back to the city, though, you can't be seen in that getup." Nail said.
"Why? What's wrong with it?" Gohan looked down at his costume.
"It's very clearly a hero costume. You might as well parade around in a police officer or military uniform. Pro Heroes are licensed and carry a certain degree of authority. Obviously, you aren't licensed yet and you'll only draw attention to yourself. But don't worry, I have just the thing for you. Hold still."
Nail raised his hand at Gohan and a glowing power emanated from him, enveloping Gohan with wind and light.
"There's a reason why Goku never wore that Hero Costume." Piccolo said. "It was too flashy, drew too much attention. Instead, he always wore his training gi to honor his martial arts master. That's why we think it's only appropriate if you do the same."
The light dissipated and Gohan's Hero Costume was gone, replaced by sleeveless purple Namekian gi. A light blue sash held the gi together above his waist, along with matching blue wrist-wraps, a weighted white scarf around his neck and his long hair was wrapped and tucked neatly behind a white Namekian Hachimaki.
"When we were young, this symbol terrorized all who came across it. They called us the Demon Clan. But under you, this symbol will carry a new meaning. The world will come to see it as a symbol of Hope and Peace."
Gohan looked down at the symbol engraved on the top left side of the robes.
"You're one of us now, Gohan," Nail said and Piccolo smirked proudly. "Welcome to the Dragon Clan."
Gohan looked up proudly at them.
"I promise, I will become the greatest hero in the world, and from now on the symbol of the Dragon Clan will be the symbol of a hero."
"That's exactly what I wanted to hear. And don't worry, your Hero Costume will be waiting for you back in Namek City. We'll have it ready for when you make it into UA. And speaking of Namek, we're preparing a place in Papaya Island for you to work from while you're attending school. It's a three hour commute from UA, but with your quirk, the distance won't be an issue."
"I can't thank you enough," Gohan said. "I won't let you down."
Chapter Five – The Path Set Before Me
The rushing wind pushed Gohan's hair back as he and Nail soared across the vast Dagoba Sea, heading back towards Musutafu. As they flew over the water, his memories crept back to the training he'd endured the past few months.
Just a few weeks before leaving Mount Paozu, Piccolo had taken Gohan to see the old farm that had belonged to his parents. The farmer who owned it now was very friendly and had let him stick around for dinner as the two talked about the harvest. Seeing the farm again had made Gohan long for the family he had lost. Goten and Mom… I messed up, but I'll find a way to make it up to you. I swear it. I will become someone you can be proud of.
"Hey Nail," Gohan said, Nail flew closer, his hands tucked inside his blue tunic.
"Yeah, what is it?" He asked. His antennae swayed with the wind.
"You go on ahead back to Namek, there's some business I have to take care of in Musutafu first. Plus, I'm getting hungry again."
"Seriously? You just ate, you glutton," Nail shook his head in sarcastic disapproval. "Alright, fine. Just head back to Papaya Island when you're ready. Piccolo should be back by then. Miss Piiza will be picking him up in a few hours in the company jet."
"He has a jet?!" Gohan groaned incredulously. "And he still made me swim all the way to Mount Paozu?"
Nail chuckled.
"Yes, Piccolo likes to make his training incredibly difficult, but it was intended to see your resolve, as well as to test the limits of your strength, and, well, look at you go now! You're a far cry from that defenseless boy I met back at Advance last year. I'm certain that getting into UA won't be a problem for you."
Up ahead, the glow of the city lit up the evening sky. Musutafu. Home.
"Well, be careful, kid. Here, take this."
"What is it?"
"Piccolo wanted you to have it. It's a money card, for any expenses you might run into. Just make sure to use it wisely. Anyway, see you in Namek," Nail told him as he peeled away and shot off alongside the coast of Dagoba beach.
The vast city that had once been an absolute maze to Gohan before seemed so much smaller from here. Gohan slowed his flight as he got close to his apartment building and hovered above it for a moment.
What am I even going to say? Gohan felt his stomach tighten. He missed his mother and brother dearly, but would they even welcome him back after everything that had happened? Gohan thought back to the haunted way his mother looked at him that night, as if he were some sort of monster.
No, he had to apologize and explain things to his mother. She and Goten were the only family he had left. He had to try.
Gohan floated down to the ground in the alley behind the apartments.
He breathed in a heavy sigh and let it out as he walked up to his apartment door. But there was something off about the small patio that lead to the door. His mother's garden was gone, replaced by ugly sculptures of puppies and rocks. Goten's bicycle, as well as his mother's potted flowers were missing, too. With a sinking knot in his stomach, Gohan walked up to the door and knocked three times.
His fear was confirmed when an elderly woman answered the door, a pack of small dogs barking up at the stranger at their doorstep. Gohan recognized her as the elderly lady from the third floor. Obviously, she was now living in his old apartment on the ground floor.
The old lady looked up and down at Gohan suspiciously before recognition washed over her face. "Go-kun," she said. "How nice to see you again!"
"Hi there, Mrs. Koinu," Gohan said with a brief, courteous bow. "I'm sorry for the intrusion, I'm looking for my mother. Is she here?"
"Oh, you didn't know? I'm really sorry to tell you the bad news, son, but she moved out of here about three months ago."
"She… moved out?" Gohan's heart dropped to his stomach. "Do you know where she might have gone?"
"She wouldn't say. All I know is that she couldn't find work, so she took her little one and left town. I'm really sorry."
"You… wouldn't happen to have any way of contacting her, would you?"
"No, I'm afraid not," Mrs. Koinu said. "I wish there was more I could do to help, but that's all I know."
Gohan gulped and nodded, thanking the elderly woman anyway and walked away.
Where could she have gone? Through the years and trials, Gohan had always been the pillar of support for his mother, and the thought of her out there somewhere without any help or support made Gohan's heart break all over again. Gohan looked off into the distance. I will find you again, Mom. I will make you proud of me again.
A cooling breeze had settled over the night sky. The evening had fully set in and brought along a cold breeze from the ocean with it. Gohan closed his eyes, clearing his mind, the way Piccolo had taught him to.
'Clear your mind, focus, and you will find your way,' Piccolo had told him.
The breeze picked up around him, tugging gently at his clothes. Gohan enjoyed it, relaxing his breathing and a sensation of peace flooded through him, calming his anxiety and giving way to clarity. Although his heart ached to see his mother again, there would be very little that he could do to help her now, anyway. Even if he did find her... then what? Gohan was sure that Piccolo would welcome Chi-Chi and Goten into Papaya Island with open arms, but deep down, Gohan knew that Chi-Chi would never agree to that idea.
So for now, Gohan decided to stick to the plan. Becoming a hero would do more than just answer the mysteries of his life. Once he obtained his hero license, he could provide a better life for his mother and brother. That's the path he needed to take to truly make a difference in their lives.
With his path set before him, Gohan opened his eyes, and decided to head back to Namek for now.
A movement from the corner of his eye caught his attention. At first, Gohan thought it was the shadows of the city playing tricks on him, but the shadow moved again. Gohan stepped back to get a better look at the moving object.
Standing on the fourth floor of the apartment building was a girl who was struggling to pull herself up the roof.
What on earth is that girl doing? Gohan thought to himself as he observed her bizarre behavior. The girl held her arms up, balancing herself as she walked to the edge of the building. Her hair swayed with the evening breeze, uncovering her eyes. Her head hung low, shoulders slumped, like a lost puppy. There was an intense look of pain in the girl's closed eyes as she took a step forward into nothing.
Gohan's eyes widened when he suddenly realized what was happening.
"Hey! Hey, stop! Don't do it!" Gohan held his hand up, running to stop the girl. But it was too late. Pushing herself off of the ledge, the girl jumped from the top of the building.
Without thinking, Gohan propelled himself upward into flight, catching the girl's tiny frame in his arms.
"I've got you," Gohan said reassuringly, flying up into the sky. "Just hang on."
The girl's large brown eyes opened, confused.
"What? Who are you? What's going on?"
"I'm saving your life," Gohan replied as he started his slow descent back down to the top floor of the apartments. "Look, I get it. Life is full of problems, but you can't solve them by ending your life. Think about how that will make your loved ones feel."
The girl blinked twice, confused.
"Ending my…?" Suddenly she burst into laughter.
"What's so funny?" Gohan was genuinely confused. Had this girl completely lost her mind?
"I'm not ending anything, silly," the girl said with a wide smile. "I'm training my quirk. Watch."
To Gohan's horror, the girl jumped off the building again.
"No, wait!"
But the girl didn't fall. With her eyes closed in concentration, she floated in mid-air, holding her fingertips close together. Clumsily, she floated back to the stairs where Gohan stared in awe.
"And release," she said, breathlessly. Small beads of sweat had formed on her forehead. "See?" she said happily. "Nothing to worry about. Sorry if I made you worry, but it was really sweet that you tried to save me."
"Wow," Gohan smiled back. "So you can fly, too."
"Well, it's not exactly flying," the girl said, tapping her finger under her chin. "My quirk is zero gravity. I can make anything float with a touch of my fingertips. So I've been trying it on myself."
"That's a cool quirk to have, miss. Just be careful not to get hurt"
"Okay, I'll keep that in mind and again, sorry for scaring you," The girl bowed apologetically. "My name is Ochaco Uraraka. What's yours?"
"Gohan," he smiled. "...just Gohan."
"Nice to meet you, Gohan," she said. "Do you live here, too? I just moved in a couple of weeks ago but I haven't seen you around."
"I used to live here," he said. "But that was a while ago-"
The conversation was interrupted abruptly when the smell of fresh Takoyaki filled the air.
"Some things never change," Gohan licked his lips, the smell bringing back some memories. His stomach growled loudly and he calmed it down with a pat on his abdomen.
"Have you tried Mrs. Yakimono's famous Takoyaki balls?" He asked Ochaco.
"Mmm yes, they're divine," she said, imagining the taste of the delicious food. "My parents and I stumbled across it when we were hunting for apartments to rent here."
"It's one of this town's best kept secrets," Gohan said. "Come on, I'll treat you."
"Well…" she looked away, unsure. I've never actually gone anywhere alone with a boy before…
But Uraraka couldn't bring herself to tell him that. After all, the guy had just tried to save her life. If he had any nefarious intentions, he could've taken advantage of her earlier when she was in his arms
In his big, strong arms. Ochaco's cheeks burned for an instant, and she slapped them back to normal.
The wind blew again, bringing the smell of the Takoyaki again, and this time it was Ochacho's stomach that roared.
"Okay, let's do it," she said.
"Great! I'm famished!"
The Takoyaki stand was modest and almost hidden from the street view. Gohan held the tarp entrance open and Uraraka ducked inside, taking a seat at the corner of the bar.
"Ochaco-chan, sweetheart!" Mrs Yakimono emerged from the kitchen. "It's so nice of you to stop by, and with a boy, no less."
"Hi," Ochaco greeted her with a shy smile.
"It's really good to see you, again, Mrs. Yakimono," Gohan said cheerfully. "It's been way too long since I've had those amazing Takoyaki balls!"
Mrs Yakimono stopped in her tracks.
"That voice," she said. She turned and took a closer look at the young man sitting next to Ochaco. "S-Son Gohan, is that you?"
"That's right," Gohan said cheerfully. "You have no idea how badly I missed your cooking. I'm starving for it."
"Just… just one moment," Mrs. Yakimono said with a smile. She quickly ran to the back of the kitchen.
"Fire up everything you've got!" She shouted at the cooks. "The bottomless pit has returned!"
"Bottomless pit?" Ochaco lifted her eyebrow quizzically. "I wonder what she means by that."
Gohan laughed nervously and brushed his hair back.
"Well…"
One hour later
"Oh, that's why," Ochaco muttered under her breath, staring at the dozen dirty dishes that were stacked precariously at the edge of the table.
Gohan finished his last dish and added it to the pile, finally putting his spoon in with the rest of the dishes.
"I'm stuffed! You're not going to eat any more?" he asked her. Ochaco shook her head.
"No, thanks, I'm full, too."
"Mrs. Yakimono, do you have some takeout boxes for the rest of this food, please?"
"My, you have quite the appetite, don't you?" Ochaco said as the food was packed.
"You have no idea," Mrs. Yakimono grumbled, packing up the excess food. "You are paying this time, right Gohan?"
Gohan gave her a childlike grin.
"Of course! How much do I owe you?"
"75,000 Yen?!" Ochaco yelled, collapsing to the floor when she saw the bill. "That's more than the monthly rent on my apartment!"
Gohan walked down the road towards Ochaco's apartment, carrying two bags of packed food.
"Did you enjoy your meal?" Gohan asked. "Mrs. Yakimono's is the best, isn't it?"
"Yes, I'm stuffed," Ochaco patted her slightly enlarged belly. "It's been a while since I've been this full. Thank you so much."
"So, what are you doing out here in the city by yourself, anyway?" Gohan asked her.
"Same thing as everybody else is this time of year," she said. "I'm here for the UA Entrance Exams in a few weeks. But we live so far away, so my parents rented out an apartment so I won't have to commute too far."
"That's awesome," Gohan said. "Your parents sound really great."
"They are," Ochaco nodded. "They're really supportive of my dream of becoming a Pro Hero. I don't want to let them down, because they've sacrificed so much to give me this opportunity, but if I'm being honest, sometimes I question myself because of my quirk."
"Why?" Gohan asked. "What about it?"
"Well, it's not exactly anything flashy or powerful. Whenever I overuse it, I totally hurl. And there's a limit to how much I can lift. So sometimes, I feel like it's… I dunno, kinda boring."
"It's not boring," Gohan said. "Your quirk is amazing. And so what if your quirk has a limit? Limits are meant to be broken, right?"
"Well, at least you've got that UA spirit, Gohan," Ochaco smiled. "Plus Ultra, right?"
Gohan turned to say something, but the expression dropped.
"Gohan, what is it?"
"Get behind me," he said, holding her back with an extended arm as five thugs came out of the dark alley.
"Wow, wow, wow, what do we have here? This must be our lucky night," one of them said. The five thugs encircled Ochaco and Gohan. "Alright, kid, don't try to be a hero. We'll be taking the food, and the girl."
"We're not looking for trouble," Gohan said, his voice dropping to a purr. "We're just trying to get home. There's plenty of girls you can find in the south district. Just leave us alone… or else."
"Do you hear this little punk?" one of the thugs scoffed. "Trying to act tough in front of his little girlfriend? Don't you know that it's dangerous around here at this hour?"
Gohan felt Ochaco's terrified grip on the back of his gi.
"Gohan," she whispered. The fear in her voice sent shocks of adrenaline and anger to his gut.
"Last chance," he said. "Just leave and this won't have to get physical."
The thugs laughed.
"Just in case you didn't realize, you're outnumbered five to one, you little brat!"
"Wait a minute, I recognize that gi. That's the sigil of that old Demon Clan, isn't it? Didn't anyone tell you that the old Clan died out seven years ago? Who are you trying to scare, huh?"
A knife suddenly launched at Gohan.
"Gohan!" Ochaco screamed.
The blade stopped within inches of Gohan's neck. Gohan's eyes narrowed as he stared at the quaking hand that held it, caught in his iron grip.
"It's not the Demon Clan anymore," he said with venom in his voice. "It's the Dragon Clan."
He kicked the thug so hard he flew against the wall and crumbled to the floor, not getting back up.
"Get him!"
As the thugs jumped at him, Gohan became a furious blur. He ducked and rolled under a swinging bat and came up high with an uppercut that knocked out another thug. He landed and reversed, only to see two of the remaining three thugs floating in the air.
Ochaco held her palms together deep in concentration as the thugs cried and flailed uselessly in suspended gravity. Gohan took off and leaped into a mighty kick, dropping all of his weight to the center of his left foot. His boot connected with the bat-wielding thug and sent him flying away. With that same momentum, he wrapped his legs around the third man and brought him down face-first into the pavement. The landing cratered the sidewalk and the man slumped down next to other guys.
"He's a demon!" the bat-wielder yelled, picking himself up and running away.
"Demon, my ass," the last one barked, pulling out a gun from his hip. "Too bad kid, now you're gonna die!"
"Gohan!" Ochaco yelled as the thug grabbed her and fired off several shots at Gohan. But Gohan stood his ground. His hand was a blur, catching all of the bullets and crushing them in his hand.
"I hate guns," Gohan grounded the bullets, letting the dust fall from his fist. The masked man started to panic. He wrapped his free arm around Ochacho's throat and pointed the gun to her head.
"Oh, yeah? What about her? She bulletproof, too?"
"Uraraka!"
"Stay back or I'll blow her head off," he cried. "I'll do it!"
Gohan's fists clenched, frustrated.
Dammit, I should've taken him out when I had the chance, he cursed himself. His teeth gritted as the thug began to back off. Gotta think of something fast!
"Follow us, and something bad will happen to her."
Ochaco strained as the barrel of the gun dug into her temple. She complied, moving backwards with him as she thought of a strategy. The only thing she could do was activate her quirk and hope that the thug would be caught off guard enough time so that Gohan could get to him before he had time to pull the trigger.
It was a risk, but it was all that she could think of right now. The thug took a step back off the sidewalk and onto the road. The uneven ground threw him off balance just slightly, but that was all that Ochaco needed. She leaned back against the thug, adding her weight to his and pushing him off balance, then she quickly brought up her open palms against his meaty arm. With a white flash, the man was floating. Ochaco lifted the weightless man with all of her strength and sent him floating up into the sky.
"W-what the hell?" he yelped. "Put me down you little bitch!"
He aimed the gun down at Ochaco and fired off three rounds, but Gohan appeared on top of her protectively, catching the three shots in his hand.
"Leave her alone!" he roared, launching himself like a missile towards the floating thug.
"Release!" Ochaco clapped her hands together.
The thug fell from the sky and Gohan caught him by the leg, spinning him around so fast that it sent the man flying away, out of the city towards Dagobah Beach.
The whole encounter had taken less than three minutes and Gohan could hear the wail of police sirens closing in. With all of the thugs defeated, Gohan levitated down to where Ochaco was waiting for him, breathlessly.
"Uraraka, that was amazing!" Gohan said. "I told you your quirk was so cool!"
Ochaco ran up to him and hugged him tightly, burying her face into his chest.
"Gohan! That was so scary!" She sobbed. Gohan was taken aback by her tears at first, but slowly he placed his arms around the crying girl's shoulders and comforted her.
She was absolutely terrified, but acted so bravely in the heat of the moment. This girl is so cool!
"I told you, already, didn't I? I've got you." Gohan held her until the police arrived and took the remaining thugs away. They questioned Gohan and Ochaco extensively, but when they determined that they had acted in self-defense, they let them go home.
"Well, at least they didn't get our food," Ochaco joked, wiping her reddened eyes as Gohan walked her up to her apartment door.
"That would have really made me angry," Gohan said, handing her the bags of food.
"Thanks, Gohan. Thank you for saving me and for all of this food. You have no idea how much this helps."
"Don't mention it," Gohan smiled. "And hey, as far as I see it, you saved me too, back then."
Ochaco smiled sheepishly and a silence fell between them that only lasted for a moment.
"Well I-"
"Okay, good-"
The two paused, catching themselves and Gohan smiled at her.
"Well… see you in the Entrance Exams?"
"Yeah," Uraraka leaned against her door. "See you there. Let's do our best!"
Gohan nodded. "Cool. Good night, Urara-chan."
Urara-chan… "Good night. 'Just-Gohan'," she said shyly, slipping into her apartment and closing the door.
"He's so cool," she said to herself as she closed the door. "Urara-chan," she kept saying to herself with a giggle, putting the food away."Urara-chan."
"She's so cool," Gohan said to himself with a crooked smile as he floated up into the sky. The aura around him brightened and he blasted off at full speed towards Namek.

Izuku Midoriya's hands were bloody and calloused, but he refused to give up. Over the past ten months he had been working hard to clean Dagoba Beach Park of all the debris that people had illegally dumped. He pushed against the mud, dragging a rusty safe behind him up the shoreline.
"Come on, young Midoriya," The giant man squatting on top of the safe encouraged. "Put your back into it! You only have three more weeks until the exam! Or did you think you could start slacking off now?"
Midoriya was too tired to respond, but he shook his head and kept pulling. Suddenly, there was a strange noise coming straight for them from above, like a sonic boom or the sound of thunder clapping.
Midoriya let go of the rope and glanced up into the night sky. The noise got closer and became a clear yell.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
The next moment, a person fell from the heavens, landing in the cold beach waters.
"Holy woah!" Midoriya yelped. "All Might, I think that was a person just now!"
"Hmm?" All Might jumped off the vault. "Oh, crap! I think you're right. Stay here!"
All Might leaped into the air and plunged into the cold waters. Suddenly, there was an explosion of water and the man was thrown out, landing at Midoriya's feet.
"Are you alright, sir?" Midoriya asked, worriedly, helping the coughing man up. The waters roared again and All Might jumped out, landing in front of the thug.
"AAAAHAHAHAHA! Fear not, citizen. Hope has arrived, because I am here!"
The masked thug looked up in between coughs and his eyes widened when he saw All Might.
"A-A-A-All Might?! Hell no! I am never comin' back to this crazy town!" The man scrambled to his feet and ran away, leaving Midoriya and All Might blinking at each other in confusion.

It took Gohan less than 45 minutes to reach Papaya Island. To his surprise, there was a much taller building that had been built atop the original building. The shape of the building was like a wine glass, semi-circular with a thin tower leading back down. The representation of a dragon snaked around the column and all the way to the top of the tower. It really was a marvel to behold. As he approached it, Gohan saw Nail standing in the balcony and he flew in and landed next to him.
"Made it," he said, cheerfully. Nail turned and gazed at him, alarmed.
"And who are you supposed to be?" he said. "This is private property. Leave or I'll call security."
"Hey, relax Nail," Gohan brought his hands up. "Why are you acting like you don't know me?"
Nail's antennae twitched inquisitively. "I'm not Nail," he said.
"What? Then who-"
"Gohan," the actual Nail called out as he turned the corner. "You finally made it. Where have you been?"
"Making some new friends, and kicking some ass," he said earnestly.
"You're fighting already?" Nail groaned. "I knew I shouldn't have let you out of my sight."
"Hey!" Gohan held his hands up. "In my defense, they tried to take my food."
"You're absolutely hopeless," Nail rubbed his temples, tiredly.
"Well, I see you've met my son. He's about your age, too."
"Your… son? Oh, that's right," Gohan bowed respectfully at the identical green young man. "Hi, my name is Gohan. What's your name?"
Slowly the young green man's suspicious mask peeled off.
"Hello, I'm Dende."
Nail placed a proud hand on his son's shoulder
"Dende here's the president of the New Namek Housing Project. We try to help homeless Namekians get back up on their feet by helping them find jobs, acquire new skills, and have a warm meal and a roof over their heads every night. Not the most glamorous job, but a rewarding one."
"And a necessary one," Dende said, quietly. "So, Gohan. It looks like Uncle Piccolo wants us to work for you now."
Gohan was taken aback.
"What do you mean?" he said.
"Well, he had us build this place just for you – the future Dragon of Namek. Welcome to your new home, your humble abode, your personal fortress of solitude – welcome to The Lookout."
"Uhh… Nail?" Gohan stepped back. "Did you know about this? And what's with the lofty title?"
"Of course we knew. Piccolo wanted you to have every tool available to you so that you can succeed. While you trained and studied on Mount Paozu, we've been setting you up with connections that will help you along your path to becoming a hero. Who do you think submitted your schoolwork and got everything you needed to apply for the UA Entrance Exams? So think of this as your home for now and one day hopefully it will also serve as your hero headquarters. And as far as the Dragon of Namek, well… that's an old Namekian Legend. I'll tell you about it another time."
"Wow," Gohan whistled. "Talk about a five-year-plan, huh?"
Nail smiled, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Don't say we never did anything for you, brat. Now go get comfortable. And get some rest – it's late."
"Please follow me to your quarters," Dende led Gohan down the hall and to the master bedroom.
"Woah, this room's got everything, doesn't it?" Gohan marveled at the large room. In his closet, he found replica suits of his hero costume as well as his Namekia gi.
"All courtesy of Capsule Corp," Dende said.
The room contained a large Television screen along the wall, as well as its own bathroom and a huge computer off to the side.
"I'm sure that as time goes by, we'll be able to add any additional amenities you might need, but for now, you have all of the basics."
"A bed and a refrigerator is all I need," Gohan joked. "But seriously, thanks Dende. You've all done an amazing job and I hope I can repay you all for your hard work."
Dende allowed himself a smile.
"Great. Well… my office will always be open. Just call me if you need anything."
With that, Dende left and Gohan showered and jumped onto bed. It was the first time he had laid down on an actual bed in almost a year. Within a few seconds, he was snoring under the covers.
Rumble… rumble… rumble….
"Hmm?" Gohan's eyes slowly opened at the thump. The sunshine poured from the window straight onto Gohan's face, although it hadn't seemed to Gohan like he had been asleep for too long. He glanced over at the digital clock on the wall.
3:30 AM? Then…
Gohan blinked and pushed himself up, walking over to the large window of his room. He rubbed his eyes and that's when he saw it. A large apartment complex a few streets down has engulfed in flames.
Gohan quickly pulled some clothes on and made his way down to Dende's office, barefooted. Dende who was still awake, was watching it all unfold on the large monitor, horrified at the great blaze.
"Dende? What's going on?" Gohan said, groggily.
"There was a series of great explosions just moments ago. I'm trying to find out what caused them but for now, all we know is that the fires are too big and the building's about to collapse! I've notified the nearest Hero Agency, but they can't get to the people trapped on the top floor. Gohan, I know you're supposed to be resting right now, but we've got to do something!"
Dende turned in his chair but Gohan was already gone.
"Gohan?!"
Here's the preview!
Although he was supposed to be resting and gathering his strength, Gohan couldn't just sit back and watch another tragedy unfold. Wait! That's a real villain down there! What consequences will Gohan face for this hasty rescue?
And also next time… that's the cool girl from three weeks ago, right? Gotta hurry up and get those points to pass the UA Entrance Exam!
Next time: "You Say Run! The UA Entrance Exams"
Don't miss it! Go Beyond! Plus Ultra!
AN: Just thought I'd stop by briefly to say that this new Lookout was inspired by the Wat Samphran Temple in Khlong Mai, Thailand. One day, it will closely resemble the Lookout as we know it from DB/DBZ. Just another little Dragon Ball MHA Twist I wanted to throw in there. Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, my friends! It looks like Gohan made a few new friends that will help him along the way. Until next time! As always, any questions just let me know and I'll do my best to answer them in a PM.
And also... yes, I know how it looks right now... and yes, it's intentional but... just keep an open mind and your eyes peeled for what's coming next. That's all I'm going to say about it (If you know, you know) More twists coming soon ;)
