Author's Note
The first two duels have been terminated, two Slifer Red Duelists determined to advance! Let's keep going! But first: A little trivia for you all~!
Satsuki Kiryuin, the Student Council President of Cross Tag Duel Academy. An Obelisk Blue student and a Duel Monsters prodigy. During her childhood, her father, Isshin Matoi, and her mother, Ragyo Kiryuin, both raised her and Ryuko Matoi with splendid care. Eventually, the two sisters came across two famous duelists, Summer Rose and Jubei, dueling each other before their final bout with the darkness. Years passed by and the two sisters developed a love for Duel Monsters, capitalizing on their natural talent for it and getting better at it with each passing day. People have called them the "Red and Blue Eyes of Isshin and Ragyo" simply because they are determined to perform much better than their loving mother and father, who they, themselves, are Duel Monsters prodigies in their own right.
Two names were now flashing right next to Katsuki and Denki's names before they suddenly stopped. "The next two Duelists to face each other are… Mako Mankanshoku and Rindo Kanade."
"Oh! That's my cue! Wish me luck, Ryuko~!" Mako exclaimed as she left to duel.
"I always do." Ryuko smiled.
"Oh! I just remembered! You know what kind of deck Mako runs, right?" Izuku asked Ryuko.
"Why are you asking?" Ryuko asked back.
"Well, you two seem really close." Ochako pointed out.
"Well, I DO know, but I ain't tellin ya. You're gonna have to see it for yourself, same as everyone else." Ryuko told them as Mako and the blonde man that spoke up in Baozhai's class walked to the stage.
"Good luck, Rindo~!"
"You too." Mako and Rindo respectively said to their opponent.
"With that said, you two… It is time to…!"
"DUEL!"

"The first letter of the card in the bottom of my deck is… S!"
"T for me." Mako and Rindo respectively declared.
"Mako, you get to decide who goes first." Satsuki said.
Cue: Embodiment of a Yellow Devil (Glitchtale)
"Then I'll go first! I Summon Ms. Judge in attack mode!" Mako exclaimed, summoning a female judge with two judge sticks: One that has a red circle, the other that has a blue X.

"I'll place two cards face down and end my turn." Mako stated as she does so.
"My turn, then. I draw! I'll Summon Time Thief Regulator!" Rindo proclaimed, summoning a flat four-legged creature.

"Next, I'll use its effect! By tributing this card, I can Special Summon two Time Thief monsters from my deck in face-up Defense Position with different names except Regulator!" Rindo continued, making his Regulator disappear.
"At this moment, Ms. Judge's effect activates! If my opponent activates a card or effect, I can toss two coins. If they both land on heads, that card or effect is negated!" Mako exclaimed, flipping two coins. And then they land on Mako's hand. "Ah… Two tails."
"Then my effect goes through. I'll Special Summon Time Thieves Winder and Adjuster!" Rindo stated as a man in black, ninja-like clothes appears alongside a young lady in a lab coat.
ATKs: 1800 and 1200 respectively.
"Next, both of their effects go off! Winder allows me to add a Time Thief card from my deck to my hand. Next, Adjuster allows me to send a Time Thief card from my deck to the graveyard. Now, I'm activating the Quick-Play Spell Time Thief Startup!" Rindo kept going as he showed a Spell card that had the image of a young lady starting up her Time Thief gear. "This card allows me to Special Summon another Time Thief monster from my hand. Come on out! Time Thief Bezel Ship!" He called, summoning a sharp and pointy ship.

"I'll then activate the Continuous Spell Time Thief Hack!" He declared, showing a Spell card with the image of Winder saving a little girl with his powers. "You'll see what it does in just a second. Now I'm overlaying my Time Thief Winder and Adjuster!" He growled, the two turning into spirals of energy that swirl into a red vortex. "With these two monsters, I'll build the Overlay Network! Xyz Summon! Time to steal! Rank 4: Time Thief Redoer!" He called forth, summoning a white haired man with a black cape and time-themed gear.

"Battle! Time Thief Redoer attacks Ms. Judge!" Rindo exclaimed as Redoer charges a punch.
"I'm activating the Continuous Trap Fairy Box!" Mako grunted, showing a trap with the image of a whack-a-mole themed box. "When my opponent's monster declares an attack, I get to flip a coin! And if I call it right, that monster's Attack Points are reduced to 0! I'll call Heads!" Mako flips the coin and it lands on… "Yes! It landed on Heads!"
REDOER ATK: 2400 → 0
"Redoer's Quick Effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit from him, I can activate an effect! By detaching a monster that was treated as an Overlay Unit, I can banish Redoer until the End Phase!" Rindo declared, Redoer disappearing. "I place two cards face down and end my turn. At this moment, Redoer returns to the field!"
ATK: 2400
"My turn! I draw!"
"Redoer's effect! During the Standby Phase of a turn, I can attach the top card of your deck to my Redoer!" Rindo exclaimed, attaching a monster card onto Redoer.
"Aw man! And I also have to pay 500 Life Points to keep my Fairy Box on the field…" Mako sobbed.
MAKO LP: 4000 - 500 = 3500
"That's it! Time to do what I should've done during the first turn! Play this! The Continuous Spell Second Coin Toss!" Mako began, showing a Spell that has the image of a man dropping coins in front of a goblin-looking man. "This card lets me toss a coin a second time if I don't like the result! If it involves multiple coins, I have to redo all of them. Now I'll activate the Spell Cup of Ace!" She continued, showing a Spell that has the image of a golden cup. "This lets me toss a coin. If it's Heads, I draw two cards! Tails, YOU get to draw two cards!" Mako tosses a coin. She grumbles from it landing on tails. "I'll use Second Coin Toss's effect!" She declared, using it and it landed on… "Heads! I draw two cards! Now for a different kind of gamble! I'll summon Snipe Hunter!" She continued, summoning a fiend with a laser gun.

"I'll now use its effect! Once per turn, I can discard one card and roll a six-sided die! Unless I roll a 1 or a 6, I get to destroy one card on the field!" Mako declared, rolling the die. "And it's… a 5! I'll destroy… Time Thief Redoer!"
"I'm activating Redoer's effect! Banish yourself, Redoer!" Rindo ordered.
"Ms. Judge goes off first!" Mako tosses two coins. She uses Second Coin Toss's effect. "Gah! It goes off without a hitch…" She grumbled before Redoer disappeared. "And my monsters don't have enough Attack Points against your Bezel Ship, so… I'll go ahead and end my turn." She said before Redoer reappeared.
"It's back to me. I draw! Redoer's effect attaches the top card of your deck to Redoer! And it's a Trap card. Perfect. I'll use Redoer's other effect! By detaching a Trap card that's used as material, I can choose one card on your side of the field and place it on top of your deck! I choose Ms. Judge!" Rindo began.
"Ms. Judge, what do you have to say?" Mako asked, tossing two coins into the air which landed on her hand. "Hehe~ Ms. Judge says no~ Your effect is negated~!"
"Gh… Alright. Time Thief Redoer, attack Snipe Hunter!" Rindo ordered as Redoer obeyed.
"Fairy Box's effect goes off! I'll choose Heads again!" Mako declared, tossing another coin into the air which landed on Mako's hand. "It landed on Heads! Redoer's Attack Points are reduced to 0!"
REDOER ATK: 2400 → 0
"Dammit…!" Rindo cursed as Snipe Hunter blasts and destroys Redoer.
RINDO LP: 4000 - 1500 = 2500
"I place another card face down and end my turn." Rindo sighed.
"My turn! I draw!"
"Before your Standby Phase comes but after you draw, I activate the Trap Xyz Reborn!" Rindo proclaimed, showing a trap with a necklace as the image.
"Ms. Judge, activate your effect!" Mako exclaimed, tossing two coins into the air twice. "Agh! One head, one tail…!"
"Xyz Reborn brings back my Time Thief Redoer and attaches itself onto Redoer as material!"
ATK: 2400
"Next, Redoer's effect attaches the top card of your deck onto itself through its effect during your Standby Phase! And don't forget about your Fairy Box's payment!"
MAKO LP: 3500 - 500 = 3000
"Now, I'll use my Bezel Ship's effect! By tributing itself, I can attach a card from your graveyard to my Redoer. I'll choose your Cup of Ace Spell Card! Next, I'm activating the trap Time Thief Flyback!" Rindo kept going with his combo on Mako's turn, showing a trap with Redoer saving a young lady. "This card lets me attach a Time Thief card from my deck to my Redoer. I'll attach a second Bezel Ship."
"Okay, that does it…! I'm sick of that card already! It's do or die time! I'm activating the Spell card Summon Dice!" Mako growled, showing a Spell that has a six-sided die glowing with power. "Time to roll the die!" She throws the die, and it lands on… "A 1! That means I get to Normal Summon twice this turn! I'll summon Ms. Judge back to the field!"

"Next, Snipe Hunter's effect!" Mako grunted, throwing another die. "It's a 5! Say goodbye to Redoer!"
"I'll use his effect to detach all of his materials! After detaching a Trap, I return your Fairy Box to the top of your deck! By detaching a Spell, I can draw a card! Finally, by detaching a monster, I banish Redoer until the End Phase!" Rindo responded, banishing Redoer again. 'Now with Redoer cast away, I can use Escape from the Dark Dimension if things get dicey…'
"...You're gonna regret sending my Fairy Box to the deck. Because I've got something… really strong!" Mako declared.
"Do your worst." Rindo provoked.
"Thought you'd never ask! I tribute Ms. Judge and Snipe Hunter to Tribute Summon… ORGOTH, THE RELENTLESS!" Mako shouted, summoning a powerful armored warrior.

"Once per turn, while Orgoth is on the field, I can roll three dice! Here goes nothing!" Mako exclaimed, throwing three dice. Two of them landed on a six, a third landed on a four. "Orgoth gains 100 Attack Points multiplied by the total result! The total result is 16! That means Orgoth gains 1600 Attack Points!"
ATK: 2500 + 1600 = 4100
"I'm activating the Continuous Trap Escape from the Different Dimension! This lets me Special Summon a banished DARK monster. Welcome back, Time Thief Redoer!" Rindo proclaimed.

"Sorry, Rindo, but he's not gonna help you~" Mako said.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Rindo asked.
"I rolled two sixes~ Orgoth gains an additional effect whenever two dice that I roll land on the same number~ And if two of those dice land on a 5 or 6, Orgoth gets to attack directly this turn~!"
"What!?" Rindo gasped.
"Bye bye~! It was fun dueling you, Rindo~!" Mako smiled then gave a determined smile and glare. "Orgoth, attack Rindo directly!"
"Oh, son of a…" Rindo was about to curse before Orgoth charged at Rindo and cut him down, making him yell in defeat.

"Man… Your luck is something else, Mako…" Rindo sighed as Mako giggled.
"Thanks, Rindo~! I was hoping to save Orgoth for the final match, but… I guess things just don't work out that way sometimes." Mako shrugged.
"True, but… knowing that guy…" Rindo trailed, looking at Katsuki from the stage to the audience. "I feel like you'll need him."
"True…" Mako hummed before going back to her spot. Rindo does the same.
Two more names start flashing right next to Ochako and Ryuko's names. After Mako and Rindo sit down, the names stop.
"The next ones to duel are… Velvet Crowe and Makoto Nanaya." Satsuki declared as a young lady with long black hair and a young lady with a squirrel's tail and ears went to the stage.
"Hey, Velvet…?" Makoto called.
"Yeah?" Velvet responded.
"You ever wonder how many of us are gonna duel a student from the same dorm?"
"Not really."
"Eh. At least we're giving people a show."
"That we are. Let's do this."
"Right!"
"If you're both ready, then it is time to…!"
"DUEL!"
VELVET LP: 4000
MAKOTO LP: 4000
"I've got a B for my bottom card." Makoto said.
"A for mine." Velvet replied. "That means I'll go first."
Cue: Alexandrite I or II (Blazblue Continuum Shift I, II, EXTEND, or Chrono Phantasma/Central Fiction)
"I'll start off this Duel by summoning Ally of Justice Garadholg!" Velvet stated, summoning a futuristic warrior with twin purple beam blades.

ATK: 1600
"I'll place two cards face down. Your move." Velvet passed.
"My turn! I draw! I summon Bujin Torifune!" Makoto began, summoning a yellow winged warrior.
LV: 4
ATK: 1500
"Now I'll use his effect! Once per turn, by tributing Torifune, I can Special Summon two Bujin monsters with a different type from my deck in defense position except Torifune. I Special Summon Bujin Arusada and Bujingi Peacock!" Makoto declared, making Torifune disappear before summoning a warrior clad in yellow-orange armor and a peacock of light.
ATKs: 1600 and 1800 respectively.
"Now I'll activate the Continuous Spell Fire Formation - Tensu!" Makoto continued, showing a Spell card that has the image of two warriors of fire preparing to fight. "When this card is activated, I can Normal Summon a Beast-Warrior type monster from my hand in addition to my Normal Summon or Set! So come on out! Bujin Mikazuchi!" She grunted, summoning a warrior clad in blue.

ATK: 1900
"Oh, and before I forget, as long as Tensu's on the field, all of my Beast-Warrior monsters gain an additional 100 Attack Points!"
Arusada and Mikazuchi ATKs: 1600 + 100 = 1700 and 1900 + 100 = 2000 respectively.
"Time to deal some major damage on the first turn! Go, Mikazuchi!" Makoto commanded.
"I'm activating the trap Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" Velvet exclaimed, showing a trap that has the image of, what else, a scrap-iron scarecrow. "This card negates your attack and lets me flip it back face down so I can use it again next turn!" She declared as Mikazuchi's attack was blocked by the trap in question.
"Oh yeah!? Peacock, attack her Garadholg!" Makoto ordered as the peacock cried and went to attack.
"At this moment, Garadholg's effect activates! When it battles a LIGHT Attribute monster, which your Peacock just so happens to be, he gains 200 Attack Points during the damage step!" Velvet told Makoto.
GARADHOLG ATK: 1600 + 200 = 1800
"With their Attack Points now equal, Peacock and Garadholg are destroyed!" Velvet declared as they are both, indeed, destroyed by their attacks.
"And that leaves you wide open! Arusada! Attack her directly!"
"Not gonna happen. I'm activating the Continuous Trap Call of the Haunted!" Velvet proclaimed, showing a trap with the image of a graveyard. "This allows me to Special Summon a monster from my graveyard in Attack Position. Come on back, Ally of Justice Garadholg!"
ATK: 1600
"Gah…!" Makoto grumbled. "Okay. I'll admit that move wasn't bad at all. But I'm still winning this, and you ain't stopping me, Vel! So get ready! I Overlay Level 4 Bujin Arusada and Bujin Mikazuchi!" She exclaimed, sending Arusada and Mikazuchi spiraling into a red vortex. "With these two monsters, I will now build the Overlay Network! Xyz Summon! Burn it all away! Rank 4: Bujintei Kagutsuchi!" She shouted, summoning a samurai of fire.

ATK: 2500 + 100 = 2600
"When Kagutsuchi is summoned, I can send the top five cards of my deck to the graveyard and if any card among them happens to be a Bujin card, Kagutsuchi gains 100 Attack Points for each one." Makoto stated, sending the top five cards of her deck to the graveyard. "Four of them were Bujin cards. That means Kagutsuchi gains 400 Attack Points!"
ATK: 2600 + 400 = 3000
"I place two cards of my own face down and end my turn." Makoto declared.
"My turn. Draw! I summon Ally of Justice Core Destroyer!" Velvet begins as she summons a type of four-legged machine with a tail.

"Core Destroyer attacks Bujintei Kagutsuchi!" Velvet exclaimed.
"Huh!? But Core Destroyer has way lower Attack Points than Kagutsuchi! …Wait a second…" Makoto started to realize.
"Now you're catching on." Velvet smirked. "That's right. Some of my Allies of Justice activate their effects when they are in battle with a LIGHT Attributed monster. Your deck is at a disadvantage!"
"Crap! If I'd known that, I'd have gone Gladiator Beast instead!"
"Well, you didn't. Now where were we? Oh yeah. I remember. When Core Destroyer battles with a LIGHT attribute monster, Core Destroyer destroys that monster before we can apply damage calculation!"
"Heh. Then it's a good thing that my Kagutsuchi has Overlay Units~ Whenever a Bujin Beast-Warrior type monster, including Kagutsuchi, would be destroyed in battle or by a card effect, I can detach an Overlay Unit from Kagutsuchi instead~!"
"I don't think so. I'm activating the trap Breakthrough Skill!" Velvet denied. "Your monster's effect is negated!"
"What!?" Makoto gasped as Kagutsuchi's flames were suddenly extinguished, the monster destroyed by a laser that Core Destroyer fired. "Oh you were WAITING for that just to tick me off!"
"What am I NOT waiting for? I think I know you pretty well even after all this time. Still, Bujin suits you. You're a beast and warrior of light for this school. Don't change who you are, Makoto. Okay?" Velvet gave a genuine smile.
"Ah… O-Okay. W-Wait! That's not the issue here!"
Velvet smiles again. "Garadholg attacks you directly!"
"Don't ignore what I have to say! Grr…! FINE! I'm playing the trap Xyz Reborn! Revive, Bujintei Kagutsuchi!"
ATK: 2500 + 100 = 2600
"But thanks to the fact that it was just plain Special Summoned and not Xyz Summoned, I can't use his effect! But I don't have to!" Makoto boasted.
"I place one card face down and end my turn." Velvet stated as she does so.
"It's my turn now! I draw! Heh~ If you could see your face when I got the card I needed~"
"The card you needed? What is it? Tell me!" Velvet urged impatiently.
"Well, since you asked so nicely~" Makoto flashed a cheeky and teasing smirk at Velvet. "First, I'm banishing a Bujin monster from my graveyard, Bujin Arusada, to Special Summon Bujin Hirume!" She declared, summoning a young lady made of light covered in white armor.
ATK: 2000 + 100 = 2100
"Next, I'm activating the Spell Ties of the Brethren!" She exclaimed, showing a Spell that features three scaled warriors that were preparing to fight. "I pay 2000 Life Points to activate this card!"
MAKOTO LP: 2400 - 2000 = 400
"After that, I choose one level 4 or lower monster I control. After that, I Special Summon two monsters with the same Type, Attribute, and level as that monster, but with different names, from my deck! Bujin Hirume is a level 4 LIGHT Attribute Beast-Warrior type monster! I Special Summon Bujins Yamato and Mahitotsu!" Makoto continued, summoning two warriors, one in tanned armor and one in red armor.
ATKs: 1800 + 100 = 1900, and 0 + 100 = 100 respectively.
"Open! Circuit that leads to friends!" Makoto called as a circuit opens from above her. "Summoning conditions are two monsters with the same level! I will send Mahitotsu and Yamato to the Link Markers!" She declared as Mahitotsu and Yamato are sent to the top and bottom right arrows. "Link Summon! Come on out! Link 2: Bujinki Ahashima!" She exclaimed, summoning a ray of light that takes the form of a young lady in golden armor.

ATK: 1500 + 100 = 1600
"And now Ahashima's effect! Once per turn, when she is Link Summoned, I can Special Summon two Bujin monsters from my graveyard with their effects negated! And immediately Xyz Summon using those two as materials! So welcome back, Bujingi Peacock and Bujin Mahitotsu!"
ATKs: 1800 and 0 + 100 = 100 respectively.
"I Overlay Peacock and Mahitotsu!" Makoto growled, sending the two into another red vortex. "Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4: Bujintei Susanowo!" She called, summoning a powerful warrior in red and orange armor.
RANK: 4
ATK: 2400 + 100 = 2500
"Susanowo can attack all of your monsters once each! Susanowo, attack her Garadholg!" Makoto commanded. Velvet raised an eyebrow.
'Why would she attack Garadholg? Core Destroyer's the bigger threat… Whatever. I still need him.' Velvet thought. "I'm activating Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate your attack!"
"Pfft! Whatever! He wasn't my real target! I knew you still needed Garadholg~" Makoto stated. "I told you, Susanowo can attack each of your monsters once each! Susanowo attacks your Core Destroyer!"
"And I told you that my Core Destroyer destroys a LIGHT attribute monster before damage calculation!"
"And *I* told YOU that Kagutsuchi can negate that by detaching one Overlay Unit which Xyz Reborn happily and helpfully provides~"
"Damn it! I should've known…! I even watched Mako and Rindo's duel, but… I completely forgot!" Velvet cursed her memory.
Susanowo destroys Core Destroyer giving it a sour taste of irony.
ATK DIFFERENCE: 2500 - 1200 = 1300
VELVET LP: 4000 - 1300 = 2700
"Next, Kagutsuchi attacks Garadholg!" Makoto declared, Kagutsuchi going for the kill.
"I'm activating the trap Prideful Roar!" Velvet exclaimed, showing a trap card that has the image of a blue monster exuding a powerful aura against Breaker, the Magical Warrior. "During Damage Calculation, if my monster battles an opponent's monster with higher Attack Points, I pay Life Points equal to the difference!"
ATK DIFFERENCE: 2600 - 1600 = 1000
VELVET LP: 2700 - 1000 = 1700
"My monster then gains Attack Points equal to the amount of Life Points I paid plus another 300!"
"Three-what!?" Makoto gasped.
GARADHOLG ATK: 1600 + 1300 = 2900
"And don't forget about his effect!"
GARADHOLG ATK: 2900 + 200 = 3100
"Aw crap! I set myself up for that one!" Makoto wailed as Garadholg exuded a powerful aura of his own before slashing Kagutsuchi apart, making Makoto scream in defeat.
ATK DIFFERENCE: 3100 - 2600 = 500
MAKOTO LP: 400 → 0
WINNER: VELVET CROWE

"Aw man… I totally had you, too…" Makoto sighed, disappointed in herself.
"Yeah. I thought you had me too with that Xyz Reborn." Velvet replied before offering a hand up. "You're a great person and a great duelist, Makoto. Don't let anyone tell you differently."
"Like heck I was gonna do that in the first place~!" Makoto smiled, taking her hand.
"All right, you two. Enough friendly banter." Satsuki said, smiling herself. "Please leave the stage."
"Kay~!"
"Of course." Makoto and Velvet acknowledge before they do so.
