After dinner , I am walking alongside the chasm. I don't want to join the party. I am still nervous about everything here . I have to calm down . It is cold when the wind blows. Someone put a shirt on me .
"Who is it?" I turn around fast
"It's me ." Ted grabs my shoulder." Did I scared you?"
"I don't like someone suddenly doing that." I shake my head ." You know it."
Ted nods his head . He doesn't know what to say
"I am sorry Ted . I am just nervous ." I apologize
"It's okay." Ted brushes my hair
"Who is Linda?" I ask
Ted silent for a minute . He then sits down above the chasm
"She is Jeanine Matthew's daughter and she likes Alan since she first time saw him in abnegation. She asks max to bring Alan back but Alan keeps refused her . We all know why." Ted sighs." He likes you too."
"Where is that coming from." Alan walks toward us .
"Alan didn't I say anything wrong?" Ted smirks at him
Alan looks at me coldly this time . He was gentle . Maybe that was my imagination. He doesn't like me and he was doing that just for duty sake
"I never like her ted . That was my duty and plus I don't like Linda for the truth. I just use that as an excuse ." Alan smirks at us ."you two are best matching."
He is hurting my feeling. I am crying but I can't let he sees that.
"Delia let's go !" Zeke is running toward us ."let's go get to the game"
"I am coming. Bye Ted ." I throw the shirt back at him."
I run with Zeke . I don't want to see Alan anymore again. He is just an asshole. I chose dauntless for him but what he is trying to tell me is that he never actually have feeling for me ever before .
"Are you okay?" Zeke grabs my hand." What did Alan say?"
"Nothing . It is not important anyway." I shake my head
I try to control myself . We leave the compound.
"Aren't we not allowed to leave the compound?" I frown
"Without a member but I am ." A man folds his arms." I am Alexander . One of the dauntless born instructor . Nice to meet you Delia."
"How do you know I am Delia?" I am wandering
Alexander giggles. He has two dimple cheeks .
"Everyone know it from Alan." Alexander rolls his eyes." He is a coward when comes to you."
"Why?" I feel something is not right.
"He wants to protect you but he is hurting you." Elizabeth shrugs
How is he protecting me by hurting me ? I don't understand
"How is that protecting . He is purely hurting me ." I scream
"Do you know George ? George is tori's brother . He had a flirty relationship with Laurence . She was transfer instructor before and guess why she is now dauntless born instructor . George was dead because of the relationship." Alexander says." Alan saw it and he thinks a way to protect you. Don't tell him that I tell you this . I don't want to broke you two up totally."
Alan is hiding his feeling by lying. He doesn't want any other people to hurt me because our relationship.
"I know that Alexander and thank you." I lower my head
The train is coming and we all jump on the car . The train is taking us toward the part of the city which was already abandoned after the war . Why are we going there ?
"We are going to the Hancock building right?" I ask
"How do you know smart?" Alexander sits beside me
"Because it involves that we are getting higher . Hancock building is the building which is even taller than the sear tower ." I shrug
Jessica laughs so loud . She is from Candor so she likes to be loud
"Yeah we are going there for sure ." Jessica nods at me .
"Delia should be born erudite . She is smarter than most of them." Elizabeth says
"Don't say that. My parent don't like erudite ." I say
When we get to Hancock building, we jump off the train. I am already used to it.
"Where is Abby?" I frown
"We didn't invite her . She is just bitch. She tries to let us laughing at you during dinner ." Uriah rolls his eyes." Why can't you see that."
"I don't believe that she hates me . I don't know she that kind of girl." I shake my head
We get to a tall building. Zeke pressed the button to the elevator .
"It is working."Alexander and Shauna is surprised at the same time
"I checked before we come here . I will not be stupid to ask you guys to run stairs." Zeke pushes Alexander to the side
We pile into the elevator and I press 100 floor
"How do you know which floor that we are going." Maria exclaims
"We are dauntless . We do everything toward a breaking point." I giggle
"Right!" Marlene shouts
The elevator picking up speed pretty fast. I can not hear anything now . Then with a sound of ding, we get to 100th floor . We rush out of the elevator door. There is a gap between the rooftop and 100th floor.
"Wait me for a bit." Zeke waves at us ." I am going to get a ladder."
"Sure , we will wait here ." Alexander says
After a minute , Zeke brings us a ladder . I climb first and when I reach the top, then I steady the ladder for them.
"You guys can come up. I already steady it already." I shout at them.
The second one is Uriah. Then the rest of them follow him. Until everyone get up , Zeke pushes the ladder down. We don't need this anymore .
"So what are we going to do ?" I am curious
"We are going to play the panel sliding. Who will show our transfers." Alexander spinning his finger in the air
"I will do it." Shauna raises her hand
Zeke sliding a panels toward the edge . Shauna slides herself facing up. Zeke tights her arms and legs . When she is secured , then he pushes the panel. Shauna is sliding toward the ground
"Who is next?" Zeke claps his hand
"Me." I step up.
"Brave ." Zeke gives me a thumb up.
A new panel comes . I slide in with face down. Zeke and Alexander tight me with ropes .
"Are you ready?" Zeke asks me
"Yes I am !" I scream.
Zeke pushes me and I start flying . I stretch out my arms like I am really flying like a bird . I am flying toward the building in front of us . When I am about to hit the buildings, then I stop. Shauna stretches out her arms
"Come and I will get you." Shauna looks serious
I have to trust my friends . I need their protection in the future . I untied my ropes and then jump.
Shauna catches me and I sigh with relief .
"It's fun." I laugh
"Right?" Shauna hugs me ." We are best friends now."
"Yes we are ." I say
We hear a scream. Uriah is flying toward us . He is shouting. However he isn't afraid . It is more like that he is enjoying it.
"Good job Uriah ." I clap for him.
I and Shauna both stretches out our hand . Uriah jumps off without us helping him.
"Great game ." Uriah pats his cloth .
The second day comes very fast. I get up around 8. It is time to go start the training. I am nervous about it. I dressed very quickly and get out of the room. Elizabeth throws me a muffin.
"You have to eat something because we are officially start training." Elizabeth winks at me." So you need energy for it."
"Thanks Elizabeth" I smile
"You are welcome ." Elizabeth hugs me." That's go."
Elisa walks beside us . Jessica and Maria also walk beside us . William and Johnson follow us behind . Johnson is humming with song.
We get into training room. Amar , Alan and Sam are standing right there .
"So my name is Alan Davis . I will be the lieutenant to watch your training also with Sam . If both of us have no time , then Amar will be your instructor all the time ." Alan walks back and forth."it is your turn Amar ."
"So we will start with three stages of training. The first one is mainly physical . We teach you how to fight and until your body reach its limitation. The second is emotional and the third one is mental. " Amar stops for a minute." After each stage of training except for stage two, there will be ranking. The ranking severs two purpose . The first one is the order you will choose a job and ….."
"The ranking also decides who gets cut."!Alan continues to speak
Cut? I know that dauntless has the least amount of population. Is that the reason?
"Cut?" Jessica frowns." What do you mean ?"
"At the end of each stage of training. The last three initiates will be leaving us . To do what? You can't go home . So you live factionless." Alan smirks
"Why no one told us before we choose." Abby is scared now .
Alan looks at Abby for a long time . Eric and four are two men who are absolute quiet. I know that they have extreme advantage because of their body shape .
"So if someone told you guy, then you will choose different? If that is so , then you can leave it now . If you really belong to one of us , then you will not afraid that you will lose . You have chose us now and now it is our time to choose you." Alan finishes his speech ." You will train different with the dauntless born for the first stage but your ranks will considered together . They are already better than you so you have to be careful."
Alan turns around and looks at Amar .
"You may begin the training." Alan commands
"Yes I will."
