Assassination Hero

Chapter 3

-Izuku-

Humming to himself, Izuku worked on packing up his bag, having finished the last of his morning lessons. Up by the blackboard he could see that Midnight was twitching in frustration which soothed the chaotic gremlin in his soul that Koro-Sensei had oh so happily cultivated.

"Dude, I don't get how you never react to Midnight." One of his classmates, Mineta, shook his head as the others worked on packing up.

"Feels nostalgic." Izuku snorted, "One of my teachers at my last school was the same so we got used to just ignoring most of what came out of Professor Bitch's mouth."

"HOW UNCOUTH!" Ida started chopping the air angrily, "TO REFER TO ONE OF YOUR EDUCATORS IN SUCH A MANNER!"

"It started as an accident honestly." Izuku laughed, ignoring Ida as well "Her name was Irina Jelavic but when she first showed up, we thought she said 'Jelabitch', eventually it just got shortened to Professor Bitch." Izuku chuckled as he pulled out the class photo that Koro-Sensei had insisted on with all the students as well as the two other 'teachers'. It was taken not long before Koro-Sensei passed.

"Daaaaaaamn, she's hot!" Mineta was near drooling as Izuku gave the midget an unimpressed look.

"She's also married to him." He tapped Karasuma on the picture, "He's a field agent of the Ministry of Defense who took a sabbatical to teach for a bit."

"Off limits, got it." Mineta gulped nervously as Izuku rolled his eyes, rolling with the eccentricities of his classmates.

"Whelp, lunch time." Izuku grinned, slinging his bag over his shoulder and heading out.

"Dude, you've wandered off at lunch every day this week. Why don't you try sitting with us for once?" Kaminari asked as the others started heading out too.

"I use lunch to hang out with my friends from my last school. Most of my old class got into UA, I'm just the only one in the hero track." Izuku explained, "If you guys want to meet em, you can."

"Tch, like I want to waste my time with a bunch of extras who couldn't even make it into the hero track." Bakugo scoffed, sneering Izuku's way.

"Then it's a good thing you weren't invited." Izuku shot back, glaring at Bakugo for talking down about class E.

"I'd love to meet them Midoriya." Yaoyorozu spoke up eagerly, the wealthy recommendation student always eager to make new friends. Nodding, he led Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, Asui, and Jiro off, the others decided not to hang out with the Support, Business, and General Education class for lunch today.

"Sup misfits." Izuku grinned at the rest of the Assassination Classroom, spotting the group at their usual table.

"There's my conquering Hero." Rio grinned, tugging him down beside her and kissing his cheek as he blushed red, "And who are these girls? Hoping to bring in someone new for date night?" Rio bat her eyelashes playfully as Yaoyorozu and Jiro turned scarlet.

"I didn't realize you had a girlfriend Midoriya, ribbit." Asui tilted her head, "Something tells me we should keep her away from Mina."

"Who's Mina?" Nagisa asked confused as Rio pouted at only getting a reaction from some of Izuku's hero classmates.

"Think Rio but with pink skin, horns, and she can make acid." Izuku explained.

"Keep her away from Rio." The rest of the class declared unanimously.

"You guys are mean." His girlfriend grumbled as Izuku chuckled, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Um, I've been meaning to ask, but why do you have a moon on your tie?" Hagakure pipped up, "I noted that they do too."

"It's something we got permission from Nezu for." Izuku explained with a sad smile, the rest of the Assassination Classroom all sharing his somber expression, "To honor our last homeroom teacher, to carry on his memory."

"I'm so sorry." Yaoyorozu gasped wide eyed.

"It's not your fault Yaoyorozu." Izuku waved off her concern, appreciated though it was "By the way, guys," Izuku glanced at his old classmates with a grin "Aizawa spoke to me during homeroom today. My request got approved, I have an official hero name now."

"Wait, seriously?" Jiro paused in her eating, "You've already got a hero name?"

"Didn't want to risk someone else taking it." Izuku shrugged, "So I'm the Crescent Moon Hero: Korosenai."

"Unkillable?" Yaoyorozu blinked, "Um…can I ask why?"

"We called out old teacher Koro-Sensei, a play off Korosenai. He was the man from the news who was blamed for the moon blowing up." Izuku scowled at how the government had tried handling the clusterfuck. Thankfully he'd now sicked Nezu onto the World Research Foundation and their various international crimes.

"Blamed? You're saying the yellow octopus guy didn't do it?" Hagakure sounded surprised.

"Nope. The actual lunatic behind it is dead now though." Izuku shook his head, "Regardless, Koro-Sensei was an amazing teacher, especially for someone trying to enter heroics. Having your sparring partner and 'target practice' be someone who can run and fight at Mach Twenty kinda pushes you to new extremes."

"No wonder you're so jacked." Jiro snorted before glancing at Rio, "Not to offend, I ain't after your man."

"What, you thinking he's not good enough?" Rio raised an eyebrow as Jiro choked on her rice, Yaoyorozu having to hastily slap her on the back.

"Yeah, Rio and Karma love to mess with people." Nagisa chuckled sheepishly as Jiro got her breath back and Rio grinned triumphantly.

"Just be glad that Karma isn't here." Kaede giggled, "Then you'd really be in for it."

"Karma?" Asui tilted her head.

"Why does that make me feel uneasy?" Yaoyorozu gulped.

"Think if Bakugo had a mischievous personality and was 'violently protective' rather than just violent." Nagisa spoke up about his best friend.

"He's still an ass." Ryoma grumbled, the big man of 3E having always but heads with Karma.

"He plans to enter politics." Izuku explained as Jiro gave a horrified shudder.

"So, you guys wanna hear stories of Izuku from Middle School?" Rio grinned at Izuku's classmates as he realized this might have been a bad idea.

"Yes please!" All four girls nodded eagerly.

-Aizawa-

"So, you look into what the kid said?" Shota asked once he was sure Nezu had the office secured.

"I did indeed." Nezu scowled, "The World Research Foundation. They're mostly disbanded now after their primary facilities were all destroyed over the last couple years. That said, I'm positive that it was a front for a villain, specifically the one who tore out All Might's stomach." Shota grimaced, the entire staff having been informed of the man's injury.

"Didn't you say All Might killed him, what, five or six years ago?" Aizawa frowned, brain rapidly doing the math, "If these labs were only recently taken out, then…"

"Then they either continued on their own after that villain's death, that he has a successor, or that he never died." Nezu nodded seriously as Shota cursed under his breath.

"So, what do we do now?" Shota ran a tired hand down his face as he slumped into one of Nezu's chairs.

"We?" Nezu shook his head, "No. I'll be looking into this personally. I have more resources and contacts than you that would be of use here. What you are going to do is continue to train the best heroes that you can."

"Fine." Shota felt annoyed at being shut out of the investigation, especially as it was tied to one of his students. That said, he knew that there was more to this that the Rat wasn't telling him and trying to press for more answers would just make Nezu hide them more thoroughly.

"Speaking of, I'm curious how young Korosenai is doing in his first practical lesson." Nezu blatantly changed the subject as the monitor on the wall lit up, showing the camera feeds for the first-year training area. He saw it was the standard 'bomb' exercise with the Hero team being Bakugo and Todoroki while the 'Villains' were Midoriya and Yaoyorozu.

"Wait, you knew he was up already." Shota narrowed his eyes, knowing Nezu liked to meddle if he felt it would teach a student a much-needed lesson.

"Those two," the rat nodded to the 'hero' duo "need to learn a valuable lesson about power and overconfidence. I thought giving Midoriya a little 'home field advantage' would do wonders."

Oh dear.

-Bakugo-

Gritting his teeth, Bakugo stalked through the concrete halls. He and Icy hot's costumes were covered in various colors of paint, having been hit by unseen paintball time after time since they'd entered the building. It didn't help that All Might put stupid rules on them like 'no firing his gauntlets' or 'Todoroki, don't freeze the building over'. So what if it could set off the bomb if it was real? The villains would be stopped so what else mattered?!

So now he'd been forced to track down that useless quirkless Deku who'd apparently been setting traps like a fucking- SPLAT "COWARD!" Bakugo roared as hot pink paint now coated his hair.

"So says the fool to the wise." Deku's voice sounded from up in the rafters behind him. Snarling, Bakugo snarled, spinning around and blasting explosions that way only to blink in confusion when he saw nothing there.

"Seventeen." Deku's voice whispered in his ear as he felt rubber being drawn along his throat. Whirling around to blow the stupid bastard to pieces, Bakugo had to bite back a yell of pain when Izuku kicked him in the back of the knee, gun firing at Icy hot who threw up an ice wall to protect himself, leaving Bakugo and Deku alone.

"YOU USELESS BASTARD!" Bakugo roared, his explosions tearing up the concrete ground as he whirled but Deku was already gone.

"You have paint on your neck now." Icy hot deadpanned at him as the two-toned prick melted through the ice wall. Feeling his neck, he could feel a line of green paint where the rubber had drug across it.

"That bastard is mocking me!" Bakugo snarled, palms popping with explosions.

"It would seem to be that way, yes." Todoroki nodded.

"But you're so easy to mock 'Kacchan." Deku's voice called out over his earpiece as Bakugo jerked in shock, how had the useless fuck hacked those?! Judging by Todoroki's good eye marginally widening he was surprised too.

"Get down here and die like the man you claim to be you useless Deku?!" Bakugo grit his teeth as Izuku chuckled darkly.

"You don't get it, do you?" Deku's voice seemed to come from all around them as Bakugo noticed the cameras in the building all zeroed in on himself and Icy hot. Deku hadn't just hacked their earpieces; he'd hacked everything in the building somehow.

"Get what?" Icy hot demanded, eye narrowed.

"The paintballs. The rubber knife. Each of those would have been fatal if the bullets or blade had been metal." Bakugo felt a chill down his spine at the cold certainty in Deku's voice, "The only reason this exercise has continued is because All Might put the 'defeated' parameters as surrender or tied up with capture tape. The only reason you two are still here, is because I have allowed it. But I'm bored playing with you now, good night." With that, a grenade appeared between himself and Todoroki, rapidly releasing purple smoke as Bakugo started coughing, the smoke filling his lungs as his vision went black.

-Izuku-

Gas mask on, Izuku checked Bakugo and Todoroki, securing both with capture tape. "They're out," he spoke into his earpiece before All Might could announce it, "thanks Momo. I wouldn't have been able to do half of this without the tools you whipped up for me." He'd be thanking his old classmates for the gear on his costume later, as well as Ritsu who had made herself part of his hero gear and helped handle the hacking.

"Um…Villains win." A confused All Might announced as Izuku smirked, meeting up with his partner as bots came to collect Bakugo and Todoroki. Victory tasted good.
