A Gross Date
Arriving home and having a shower, Danny stepped out and smiled to himself as he changed.
"Kim, Samantha, Gwen…so far, amazing." He said to himself.
Once he was done, he noticed he had received a call from Tucker as he was showering. He decided to call back.
"Hello?" Tucker was heard going.
Danny was about to speak when the area paused once more.
"Same girl?" Deadpool asks.
"Nope." NeoMark said before noticing it was just him and the regenerating degenerate again. "Where's Paradox?"
"Probably off to one of the timelines you're spending your time not doing because you're here. So, let's see who he got?" Deadpool said as he pressed play.
"Hey Tuck. How's your date?" Danny asks.
"Some girl named Kai… she was… kind of rude." Tucker went.
"Really?" Danny asks.
"Yeah… obnoxious know-it-all with a nasty attitude. Total 0." Tucker went.
"Really? I met a nice girl named Gwen." Danny said.
"Aww man. Why can't I meet a nice girl?!" Tucker whined.
"Maybe your profile makes you look wrong." Danny said.
"But all I did was talk all about my good looks, charm and modesty. I didn't do anything wrong." Tucker went. Danny rolled his eyes and remained silent, though it wasn't silent for long. "I just know you rolled your eyes!"
Danny raised an eyebrow.
"How did you know that?" Danny asks.
After his call with Tucker finished, Danny marked Gwen an 8 out of 10. If he were being funny, he'd give her a 10, but he felt at the same time she might make amends with this Kevin. As such, he decided to play it safe it keep it high but not too high. He then logged on to see who his next date will be.
User Name: ArcherGirlOfTheNorth
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Height: 5"6.
Weight: 115 lb
Home Town: Toronto, Canada
Physical Description: Young, slender girl with apricot skin, blue eyes, and long brownish-maroon hair
Personality: I am considered a multifaceted kind of person. I am considered kind and intelligent by my friends, I can also be frank and I don't hesitate to speak my mind. I am something of a perfectionist, but I also like to relax when I got nothing on my plate.
Likes and Interests: Sports, learning, anything weird or gross isn't a problem for me.
Type of person I wish to date: I'm looking for a nice, fun guy to get to know and who is open minded to my interests. And an iron stomach to boot.
Danny noticed the hair and eye color, smiling in amusement.
"Guess that's not four nickels. Still, kinda curious to see if she's a secret hero too." He said himself, thinking it'd be unlikely he'd get another girl like that.
He noticed the location of the date, surprised to see such a place being used for a location where people meet for the first time.
Seeing the time, he decided to get some sleep. He'd get to know this ArcherGirlOfTheNorth when he sees her.
At 11
Danny arrived in time for his date with this girl, getting flowers and the heart sticker he's had to wear.
He stood before where they were meeting, a place he didn't think people went to for dates.
"Jazz would probably love to have a date at the science center." Danny mused as he looked to the location.
Indeed, it was the local science center. Today, they were having a special showing regarding cleaning dirty water and making it better.
Danny cracked a small smile at the idea any girl would want part in this.
"So, you must be my date?" He heard a girl say.
Looking to his right, he saw her.
A slightly taller girl with dark red hair that was in a ponytail, one that reached her knees. She wore a light purple shirt with matching shoes, dark purple skirt and leggings. She also had light blue eyes and a cute smile.
"I take it you're the archer girl of the north?" He asks with a smile.
"It's Abby, Abby Archer." She said, extending her hand.
"Danny Fenton." He said as he shook it before recalling what he brought. "These are for you." He said before handing the flowers to her.
Abby took them, though she didn't admire them so much as analyze them.
"Hmm… daisies. Since I live in Canada, I'm not too familiar with these. But they are pretty, so thanks." She said with a smile.
"Sure." Danny said.
"So… let's see what we got for the day." Abby said as she gestured to him to follow her.
Danny raised an eyebrow before shrugging.
"Guess there's no harm in checking this out." He said before following.
"YYYYEEEEESSSSS!" Deadpool went, being absolutely giddy as he danced in place. "One of the girls I wanted in the original story is here!"
"Indeed. I decided it was time to put someone who wasn't in the original for this one." NeoMark said.
"And someone I noticed the reviews never mentioned save for one mentioning her as someone you wanted… because I guess despite this being a website for literary interpretations of people's favorite characters, a whole lot of no one bothered to READ THE RULES!" Deadpool shouted.
"Yeah… anyway, Abby seemed like the kind of girl Danny could go for." NeoMark went.
"So, why didn't you keep Emma from Stoked?" Deadpool asks.
"Well… don't get the wrong idea. I liked Emma, I think she's adorable and would be a good love interest for Danny… problem is I don't watch Stoked. I'd love to do some watching for research but… I was kind of busy. Plus, Abby seemed like a potentially good foil for Emma. Both have similar hairstyles, both older, both had not so great luck with boys they liked… but Abby is a more competent and capable girl, and a heroine in her own right, and she's not too keen on that same boy."
"Especially since the most popular one's been taken over by his evil side." Deadpool said.
After getting inside, Danny and Abby stood together as they were among a group watching the presentation.
"Have any of you ever wondered what happens to toilet water after you flush it? Don't bother answering because you're getting the answer to that even if you didn't ask. You are here, after all… anyway… It all begins with alter. Follow me…" The tour guide, barring an uncanny resemblance to Ben Stein, said to them in a very monotone voice.
As the group followed, Danny and Abby were at the back and decided to take the time to speak with each other.
"So, Danny? Tell me about yourself?" Abby asks.
"Not much. I go to Casper High, I'm aiming to be an astronaut, and I hang out at Nasty Burger." Danny explained simply.
"Nasty Burger, huh? I went to that place the other day. Great food, not a single sign of grossness though so it's got the wrong name." Abby said.
"Oh, that's just vandalism. Someone replaced the T they were going to use to call it Tasty Burger, the name just stuck." Danny said.
"Makes sense. I should let Ty know that." Abby said with a nod.
"Ty?"
"My little brother. He should be on his own date right now." Abby said.
"Oh. So, Abby? What abou-"
"Cool." Abby went as she noticed a display of sewage treatment, stepping up to get a closer look.
"Uh, Abby? That's sewer water getting boiled after it's been… used." Danny said with a cringing expression.
"I know… cool." Abby said with fascination before noticing the look Danny was giving him. "Sorry, I really dig the gross and weird." She said.
"You do?" Danny asks.
"Sure, I'm into sports, I get good grades… but really? I'm fascinated by all this. Helps that my dad works at a water treatment center, while my mom's an entomologist." Abby explained as she watched the water boil with interest.
"She studies ants?" Danny asks.
"Ha! Cute… she studies all insects." Abby said, thinking he was just kidding.
"Uh… cool." Danny said.
"Yeah… everyone back home calls me the Queen of Squeam. I'd have made that my username… if Ty hadn't convinced me that might have given people the wrong idea." Abby explained.
Danny walked up to her, noticing just how into it she is.
For someone into something so gross, it's kind of cute how she's fascinated… He thought with a small smile.
"So, Queen of Squeam? What're you doing this far South?" He asks.
"Oh, school decided a summer trip would be wonderful. My parents agreed. Paige, this mean girl we go to school with, signed up for this. So, to show her up… I kind of sort of… agreed just to show her I can get a date…" Abby admitted.
"Huh… My best friend Tucker talked me into this so he wouldn't be alone." Danny admitted.
"No fooling?" Abby asks.
"Nope." Danny said.
"Ah, so we've both been duped into this…" Abby said with a small grin.
"Heh… guess so." Danny said as the two resumed enjoying the exhibit.
1 hour later
Abby stretched her back, finding herself tiring out.
"You okay?" Danny asks.
"Yeah… my back nerves were slightly compressed is all. That's back pain in layman terms." She explained.
"You calling me lame?" Danny asks with a smile.
Abby laughed.
"You know, this has been really fun. You haven't had the urge to vomit even after seeing what became of the fecal matter." Abby said.
"Oh… I was too busy looking at you. You can spin that in any way you want." Danny said.
Abby smiled at him.
"I gotta say, really having more fun here than I thought." She said with honesty.
"I assume because it's with me and not because we're watching water get cleaned after someone had one too many burritos?" Danny asked playfully.
As Abby laughed at that, Danny noticed something off.
"Well, I won't deny that this place isn't the best idea of a-"
"It stinks…" Danny said, looking around in disdain.
"Well, I don't think it's that-"
"No, the smell… I thought this stuff was sealed so we can't smell it?" Danny asks.
Abby sniffed it as well.
"It smells like…" Her eyes widened in horror. "Oh no…"
"Oh no what?" Danny asks.
The smell became stronger, reaching everyone inside the building. Suddenly, everyone gasped in disgust before they suddenly turned green and sick, some running to the bathroom to throw up from how bad it was.
That's when the sounds of footsteps were heard and in came the source of said smell.
Danny saw what looked to be some sort of humanoid with long, greasy hair, greenish skin, dirty crooked teeth that were filled with plaque while exposed in a twisted grin.
"I knew taking a Summer break in the states was a good idea…" He said to himself.
"Sloppy Joe…" Abby said as she held her breath.
"I know it's lunch time… but is now a good time to decide what to eat?" Danny asks.
"No… that guy. He's a crook in my town… called Sloppy Joe. You can probably guess why…" Abby said.
"Yup." Danny went before a sound was heard. "What's that?"
It was a ring of some kind, coming from Abby's bag.
"Oh… uh… we should hide! You go to the men's room, I'll take the ladies'!" She said as she ran off.
"Abby?!" Danny went before recalling something. "Wait… Kim and Samantha had weird rings too… Does that mean what I think it means?" He asks himself. Before deciding to follow her.
With Abby
She ran past the bathroom, going around the corner to answer the call.
"Don't tell me, Lab Rat… Sloppy Joe is at the science center?" Abby asks with a sarcastic tone.
Lab Rat, who was about to sip his soda, stares at the screen with a slack jaw.
"How'd you know?"
"I'll give you three guesses where I am." Abby said.
"Well, in any case, Ty should be on his way. He's got your gear too." Lab Rat explained.
"Perfect." Abby said before hanging up. That's when she spotted someone approaching her. "Right on time."
She saw her younger brother before her, wearing his orange grossologist suit.
"Grossology time. Ready to take down Sloppy Joe?" He asks.
"You read my mind." Abby said. Ty was about to speak up before Abby raised a finger. "Don't you dare say "quick read" if you want to return to your date with both eyes unharmed." She threatened.
"Understood…" Ty said.
As Abby went to the bathroom to change, they had no idea someone invisible was watching.
"Grossology?" Danny asked.
Sloppy Joe broke the glass barrier between everyone and the dirty water with a fist, bathing himself in its disgusting contents.
"Aww yeah… that's the stuff." He said before green slime hit his face. "Huh?!"
Wiping it off, he saw two familiar teenagers, one in orange and one in yellow, both aiming their weapons at him.
"Don't tell me you came all this way to cause trouble for someone else? I thought what we had was special." Ty joked.
"You two are here too? Can't a guy cause trouble in peace?!" Sloppy Joe questioned angrily.
"Can we hurry this up?! You're seriously interfering with my very rare opportunity to spend time together with a cute guy who isn't repulsed by gross stuff!" Abby went.
"Ah, found a keeper, huh? Am I gonna meet my new brother-in-law soon?" Ty asks playfully.
"Funny, I met some new friends too!" Sloppy Joe said as he gestured to something behind him.
Sloppy Joe put his unwashed fingers in his unbrushed mouth and whistled sharply. The two siblings looked around, wondering what he was calling. Suddenly, phasing through the ground next to Sloppy Joe were a dozen giant, dirty, green rats with mangy fur, all gathered next to the fat villain.
"Woah, what are those!?" Ty exclaimed in shock.
"These are my new friends, met them yesterday because they like my smell." Sloppy Joe said as he went to pick one rat up and hugged it like a dog. "Ain't they cute?"
"I think these are the ghosts from Amity Park we've been hearing about, I thought they were just a weird myth to attract tourists." Abby said with wide eyes.
"Cool." Ty said.
"Boys! Sick 'em!" Sloppy Joe ordered as the rats obeyed like dogs, running towards the two.
"Maybe not that cool…" Ty said before he and Abby jumped away as the ghost rats took a swipe at them.
The two aimed their weapons at the rats and fired green slime at them, hitting them, but it didn't do anything. The rats just shook the slime off them before they continued hissing at the two.
"New friends are strong and dirty, like me, and they don't like you either." Sloppy Joe said with a smile, revealing his browning teeth. "Now, no one can stop us from being filthy forever and ever!"
He then whistled again, and the rats all rushed at the siblings. The two evaded the rats' sharp claws and teeth as they fired their weapons, though useless as they are.
"What do we do? Our weapons aren't working!" Ty exclaimed to his older sister as they were backed in the corner.
"We need to retreat!" Abby said before she was blindsided by a rat that tackled her with its head, sending her to the ground before she was pinned by two rats, hissing at her.
"Abby!" Ty exclaimed before another rat slammed him to a wall, away from Abby.
The two siblings struggled from their restraints, but the rats were too powerful. Sloppy Joe just smirked before he whistled again, making the rats bare their teeth at Abby. Her eyes widened in horror before closing them, waiting for the bite, only to feel the rat fly off her.
Confused, she opened her eyes and saw the rats fly away from her as a figure landed in front of her protectively. It was the glowing figure of Danny Phantom.
"Man, the rats are getting bigger and bigger. People gotta not throw out so much food." He said before he held a hand to Abby. "You okay?"
"Oh! Um…Y-yeah, I am" Abby said, blushing a little since the glow made him look attractive. She took his hand and allowed him to pull her up.
Suddenly, Danny started sniffing the air before his face scrunched up, making him cover his nose.
"Ugh! What's that smell!?" He exclaimed. "Did a possum die here and rot with a fish marinated in moldy milk!?"
"Thanks, I've been working hard to get that scent for weeks." Sloppy Joe said proudly before glaring at the ghost boy. "But you hurt my friends, so I hurt you!"
He rushed at Danny, his body jiggling with every stomp, and tried to punch Danny, but the Ghost Boy just turned intangible. Sloppy Joe blinked stupidly before he kept swinging his arms.
"Dude, you need to go to a carwash, like yesterday." Danny said as Sloppy Joe's attacks involved raising his arms, exposing more of his foul stench. "Ugh! I can't punch you without smelling your B-O."
"Wanna switch dance partners?" Abby said as she and Ty saw that the rats recovered and were cornering the two siblings.
"Sounds like a plan, pretty girl I just met." Danny said before he flew towards the two, grabbed them by the arms and threw them to Sloppy Joe, their weapons aimed at him. Danny removed his hand from his nose. "Wet rat fur…better than the other option."
All the rats hissed at him and rushed towards him as he stood his ground. He punched the first rat then kicked the second rat, caught the third rat and threw him to the fourth rat. The fifth and sixth rat jumped at him together, but he blasted them away. He was tackled by the seventh rat but he quickly kicked the rat off him as they landed on the ground before he got back up, just in time to make a shield to block the five last rats before blasting them away.
One rat, however, managed to go around and cut the side of his leg, drawing a drop of ectoplasm on the ground. Danny responded by kicking it in the face.
Meanwhile, Abby and Ty were busy with Sloppy Joe, who was frustrated at the siblings dodging his attacks while they kept firing slime at him, trying to cocoon him. Sloppy Joe just roared as he muscled off the slime before charging at them, sliding on the ground on his belly with the grease to make him slide. The siblings jumped out of the way to dodge him and Abby saw a pipe inside a broken wall, getting an idea. She whistled, getting Sloppy Joe's attention. The big man looked at her and saw her waving her him mockingly. With a growl, he ran to her before sliding on his belly, intending to slam her to the wall. Abby just stood there, waiting before she jumped over Sloppy Joe as he slammed into the wall.
The pipe burst and sprayed water all over Sloppy Joe, who screamed as he tried to get away, but Abby fired slime on his foot, trapping him. He stood there for a minute before the water finally stopped, revealing Sloppy Joe no longer sloppy.
"Noooo!" Sloppy Joe cried, no longer dirty.
The rats all perked up when they saw that Sloppy Joe had lost his rat enticing aroma, so they quickly fled the building.
"I guess that was rat today, gone today, heh" Ty said, making Abby cringed a little before scowling at his unfunny joke. "I'm working on it, okay?"
"Wow, nice work but that only works if it either rhymes with hair or you're talking about hares like rabbits." Danny said as he walked towards the siblings, not seeing one of the rats that remained. "You actually got behind his ears."
Suddenly, the rat pounced at Danny with his back turned.
"Watch out!" Abby cried as she fired at the rat, the slime hitting it.
As the slime splattered on the rat, stopping its momentum, a piece of the slime splattered at the back of Danny's head without him noticing.
The rat shook off the slime and rushed at them, but Danny blasted it with a ghost ray, slamming it to the wall. The scared rat then chose to scurry away.
Danny smiled in relief.
"Thanks." He said to her.
Abby smiled a little, hiding her arms behind her back as her face turned red.
"Don't mention it." She said bashfully.
"Ah, so two potential brothers-in-law." Ty said with a nudge.
"Shut it!" Abby snapped before recalling something. "Danny!"
"Yes?" Danny went.
"Not you, the one I'm with. I gotta meet up with him!" Abby went.
"But what about Sloppy Joe?" Ty asks.
"I'll break you for making me clean!" Sloppy Joe shouted in anger.
"I got this." Danny said, walking up to the formerly grimy crook. "You don't smell like used diapers on a tire fire anymore, so I'm free to do this."
Danny then lightly pounded on the top of Sloppy Joe's head, knocking him out while his tongue stuck out of his mouth in cartoonish fashion.
"A little barbaric for my tastes, but at least he's out." Ty said.
"I gotta go." Abby said as she ran for it.
"Uh… me too." Danny went as he left.
Ty, seeing no need to stick around, decided to go too after he shrugged.
"Too bad I couldn't get a slime sample…" He said to himself.
It was then he noticed the drop of ectoplasm that came off Danny Phantom. With a humm, he decided to give it a shot.
Abby stepped out of the restroom, back in her civilian outfit. Panting, she hurried over to where she last saw Danny, hoping he was still there. To her displeasure, he wasn't.
"Oh… stupid grease monkey…" She muttered.
That's when someone approached her.
"Hey, Sis." She heard Ty say.
Without turning her head, she only let herself hunch over in disappointment.
"I guess that's that for my date…" She said.
"Well… while you were gone… I got a slime sample off of Danny Phantom from his fight with Joe's pets."
"Gee… how wonderful." Abby snarked, still disappointed.
"Abby?" She heard Danny say.
Looking up with a smile, she saw Danny Fenton approach her.
"Danny! You didn't leave?" She asks.
"Of course not. I just waited until Greasy Joe, or whatever his name was, was taken care of." He said, motioning as Sloppy Joe was being carried out of the building by the police.
"That's a relief…" Abby said as she recalled who else was with her. "Oh, Danny? This is Ty, my younger brother."
"Pleased to meet you." Danny said as he offered his hand.
Ty took his hand before he noticed something off about Danny, causing him to get in his face and examine him.
"Ty…" Abby said as a warning.
"You seem… familiar…" He said, hand at his chin.
"R-Really?" Danny asked as he placed his hand on his head. "I guess I- Ew! What's on my head?"
Pulling back, he saw his fingers were coated in green slime.
Both Ty and Abby gasped.
"Is that slime? Our slime?" Ty asks.
"But how did i-" Abby then recalled the incident just now with Danny Phantom and the rat, the slime that she fired that landed on the back of his head. "Wait a minute… was that you?"
"Huh?" Danny went.
"I saw Danny Phantom get slime on his head that he didn't see… the exact same slime that landed on you." Abby said, hands at hips as Ty examined him further.
"Huh… you do look like him from certain angles. It's the hair." Ty said.
"Uh… w-what? No. I'm not…" Seeing Abby's less than convinced look, he gave in. "Yeah… it was me."
As Abby crossed her arms, a familiar ring turned on that Ty answered.
"Lab Rat?" He asks.
"I just finished analyzing the sample. I can't determine what makes it green, but it looks like blood. Human blood that's been altered." He explained.
"You don't say…" Ty went knowingly.
As that went on, Abby redirected her attention to Danny, who looked nervous as he turned away in fear of his identity being revealed to the public.
Abby's expression softened, recalling her time with Danny. She recalled his joking nature, his pleasant talks with her, and she recalled him pulling the rat off her as it was about to gnaw her face off.
Her sudden hostility was lost as she felt guilt for how she acted.
"I bet if we find this Danny Phantom, we can probably learn just what he is. Any idea where he is?" Lab Rat asked.
"As a matter of fact-" Ty went before Abby held her hand in his face.
"No. No we don't." She said flatly.
This caught Danny and Ty by surprise.
"We… don't?" Ty asks, eyes darting towards Danny repeatedly.
"He saved my life, remember? We owe him a little privacy, after all." Abby reminded him, eyes also darting towards Danny.
Ty, seeing her point out, groaned and nodded.
"Yeah… we owe him that, at least." He said in a defeated tone.
"The director's not gonna like this… then again, he doesn't like a lot of things. Still, I'll keep this between us." Lab Rat said as communications ended.
Once that was done, Ty noticed the slight awkwardness between Abby and her date, deciding he should excuse himself.
"I'll give you two a moment. Best of luck, rooting for ya" He said with a thumb's up, walking away.
Once he was gone, Danny and Abby started talking again.
"So… uh… thanks." He said.
"Well… like I said, you did save me. Besides, you're kind of fun to be with." Abby said.
"You mean for a cute guy who isn't repulsed by gross stuff?" Danny asks playfully.
Blushing hard, Abby hid her face behind her hand.
"You heard that?" She asks.
"I did." He said in amusement before he became serious again. "So… that's it? We're done now?"
Abby, once the embarrassment wore off, had an idea.
"Well… we did talk about Nasty Burger. Now that Sloppy Joe's been taken care of, I think we can stand to eat. Plus, I'd love to analyze that infamous secret sauce of theirs." Abby said as she offered her arm, the smile of her face clear she trusts him.
With a smile of his own, Danny graciously took it as the two headed off together.
At the Nasty Burger
The two enjoyed their food as Danny chewed his burger. Abby, meanwhile, examined the patty under the bun.
"Interesting… it seems impossible that such mere condiments could be flammable like this. If they get too hot, they explode, huh? I'm amazed the FDA even allowed this. Forget gross, this is just negligent." She said.
"I guess Amity Park has more iron stomachs than you thought." Danny said.
"Guess so." Abby said as she noticed how no one was close enough to hear them. "So… what's it like?"
"I mean, you took a bite." Danny said.
"I meant… y'know… the suit and hair dying." Abby said, keeping her voice low.
"Oh.. uh… sort of like a jolt of cold and heat going through your body. Or, maybe just a tingly feeling all over my body? One of those." Danny said, realizing he isn't sure how to describe it.
"Fascinating…" Abby said, resting her elbows on the table and her head on her hands. "So… what's it like? Do you feel changes? Where do your feet go when you do that tail thing at full speed? Do you pee in green?"
Danny made a face before answering.
"A few, not sure and… I have no idea because I've never done that."
"Huh… amazing." She said with an intrigued smile. "I think I can officially call this the best date so far."
Danny smiled.
"Thanks… and thanks again for… y'know, keeping a secret." Danny said.
"Well… we secret heroes stick together, right?" Abby asks.
"Right…" Danny responded.
"And sorry about how I reacted at first. Let's just say most guys I like tend to have… not so great sides to them. But, I'm glad you're not like that." Abby said apologetically.
"Me too." Danny responded.
The two continued to talk, finding their time enjoyable.
After Nasty Burger
It was now afternoon as the two left together.
"You sure I can't walk you back?" Danny asks.
"Thanks but I got it. Besides, no giant rats around. That helps since we'll be leaving for home in a week, not sure if my parents would appreciate giant rat bite marks on me." Abby said.
"Alright. Well… have a safe tri-"
Danny was cut off as Abby suddenly hugged him. His face turned red before she stopped.
"This has been fun. Ty and I will keep in touch if we ever need more… spiritual help." Abby said.
"S-Sure." Danny said with a smile as Abby parted.
"Well, take care, Danny." Abby said.
"Take care… Abby." Danny said as he waved to her.
Abby waved back as she headed back to where she was staying, a smile on her face.
I know someone's getting my highest score yet. Abby thought, her interest in Danny growing.
New chapter with help from Flower Princess11 and TheWhiteTitan.
Deadpool, what do you think?
I'm just happy a girl I wanted is finally here! I know a certain someone was expecting me to make a certain joke considering Danny's dates so far have been redheads, but... that joke is beneath me.
Uh... thanks for the standards.
Anyway... next time is another new girl.
