Ω Accident happens when people have movie night Ω
-Katie-
"Campers, attention!" The buzzing of people talking soon died down. "We're going to have movie night tomorrow, sign up the forms if you want to join, and we'll have sleepover at Big House." Everyone started to decides whether joining or no, it's not every day they have this kind of activity at camp.
"What's the Movie?" Someone shouted.
"Binge watch Spider man." The crowd burst into cheers. "But! Forty people max, and the counselors have priority. Also, age under 15 not allowed to join." Some of the people threw fist in the air, like the counselors and those who are above 15. But the small kids aren't so happy. The little ones started whining at their brothers and sisters.
"Are you planning to go?" Miranda asked Katie.
"I guess, you know I love the movie and I bet Travis will go too, if anything happens it will be fine." She knew what Miranda really asking is if she goes, what about the dreams, so she answered her hidden question.
"Okay, good to hear that." Miranda sighed.
Chiron pinned the form on the billboard, the second it's on there, campers rush towards it. Only the counselors sit causally on their sits.
"Styx, I better go." Katie eyes followed her sister as she ran towards the billboard. Being a counselor finally has its pros, she thinks.
"Hey there, Katie-Kat." Someone popped out behind her.
"What do you want, Travis." She said without looking back, there is only one person on this planet will dare call her Katie-Kat and she could recognize his voice in her sleep.
"Bad mood? I thought you like the movie."
"Right, I like the — wait, you're the one who picks it?" She was caught off guard by the fact and turned to face him.
"What makes you say that?" Travis tilted his head.
"You said like you pick it." He puts on his smirk. "No, you didn't."
"Hmm."
"You did pick the movies. Why?" She sighed.
"You know that the Hermes kids are the ones who provide the movies right? We get to choose what we want. And I maybe just happen to choose something you like." Travis shrugged like it's not a big deal.
"I don't know whether I want to smack you or thank you."
"The second one would be nice."
"Travis?" Katie faked-smile at him.
"Yeah?" He looked at her innocently.
"It's a little too cheesy." She furrowed.
"What?"
"The whole thing."
"You are wounding me, Katie-Kat. I'm just doing something a friend will do." Travis pouted.
"Yeah sure." She said, rolling her eyes.
"Hey, you guys. Everything alright over there?" Miranda came back after squeezing herself out the crowd.
"Good as always." Travis replied.
"I swear your version of good is slightly different than others." Miranda murmured. "Oh, and I also fill in your name, Katie."
"Thanks." She smiled at her sister.
"This is going to be great, how did happen just be the movie you like?"
"I guess your answer is this stalker right here." Katie pointed her fingers at the person standing next to her.
"A scar in my heart again, Katie-Kat." Travis placed his hand on his chest, pretending being stabbed.
"You know what, I already gave up telling you don't call me in nicknames. Just don't use the one that are really poor."
"Noted." The blue eyes started to sparkle.
"Did I just witness Katie giving up the chances to shout at Travis?" Miranda said in disbelieve.
"Yes, you did." Travis answered smugly.
"You know I still can shout at you for other things, right?" Katie pointed.
"Hmm. And what's the fuss about Travis and Katie's favorite movie?" Miranda asked again.
"Told you he's a stalker." Katie murmured.
"I simply did you a favor!"
"Wait, so you choose her favorite movie?" Miranda suddenly realized.
"Something like that?" He said, she stared at Travis with wide-eyes.
"Whoa. Now I know why Connor said you often left him speechless." Miranda murmured.
"What happen?" She sensed the strange tension. Travis glared at Miranda. Dropped it. Katie read the words from his eyes, getting confused.
"Nothing to worry about, Kates. Just have fun at the movie night."
"Okay?" Katie thinks it's strange, but she wasn't really interested, so the little interaction didn't last in her mind too long.
-Travis-
When Chiron went to him and asked if he have any movies to provide at the movie night, he remembered once Katie told Miranda that she loves the spider-man movie (yes, he was eavesdropping; no, definitely not stalking). So, he suggested the series. He looks at the form which is pinned on the billboard. A little fun fact, there are only 36 people in the camp at present who is above 15, still, it's a joy to watch those people fighting over for things they usually don't get. Plus, he is a counselor, there is no need to worry if the spots are all gone.
And the movie night come.
Around seven thirty, people start to gather at the porch of the big house. Chiron told someone to get themselves to the room they usually have Ancient Greek, and people begin to follow one by one into the classroom which is now turn into a comfy movie room. The tables and chairs are pushed aside, in the middle is a tea table full of popcorn, a huge jar of drinks (probably coke), and paper cups. There are also some magic plates if anyone want special treatment. Behind the table is a huge couch, big enough to fit ten people or more. Blankets and mattress are piled at the corner with pillows on top. People starting to grab blankets and fighting for a spot at the couch, the ones who failed, settled themselves on the wooden floor and lean their body against the couch for support. Travis, as a Hermes kid, fast enough to get a good spot, he wrapped himself with the blanket and curl into a ball, feeling domestic. The atmosphere reminds him of the holidays, he and Connor will occupy themselves on the sofa binge watch old DVDs, and their mother will hand in homemade cookies. Gods, he misses those.
Then he felt someone poking his feet, he looked down and saw Connor sitting on the floor below him, one hand holding the magic plate, the other hand stuffing the exactly cookie he was thinking the moment before, into his mouth. He reached for the cookies, but Connor tilted his head to the other side of the room. He set his sight along the way, finding himself looking at Katie Gardner, sitting on the floor, smiling and chatting with Jake Mason from Cabin 9.
"What?" He asked before putting the cookies in his mouth, raising one side of his eyebrow.
"Nothing, just think you might want to know?" Connor smirked and get a hard kick in the back.
"Seems like everyone is settled?" Chiron walks in, seeing everyone either started to eat popcorn, or get into the 'watching movie' state. "Alright then, let's start! Oh, and if you want to sleep, I suppose you all see the mattress over there, try your best not to sleep on the floor. You don't want to have back damage at this young age." For a centaur who lives for more than a thousand years, he sounds extra persuasive.

It's almost 2 in the midnight when the movies are finished. Most of the people passed out at the middle of the third movie, considering the whole process took them nearly 7 hours, it's amazing even for him to be up at this time. Travis scanned the room, only him, Katie, and Percy is still awake. Percy is sitting not far from Katie, playing Annabeth's curls with his fingers and the girl is using his lap as a pillow. Katie's full attention is still on the screen.
He locked his eyes on Katie. The last 7 hours, he only watched the movie half of the time, spending another half staring at her. Katie sometimes squeaked about the scene, or discuss the plot with Jake Mason. Then, she caught him looking, multiple times. At first, she sent him a look, asking him what's wrong, he just avoid her glaze. And she stopped trying at the fourth or fifth time. What else can he do besides that? He can't just tell her he keeps looking because he is jealous, not an option.
Travis yawned and fell asleep.
He is running. Feeling himself breaking the winds, him looked aside, noticed Connor and a brown hair girl are running with him. Then he heard the monster.
"Half-bloods, come on! We all know you three won't live through today."
Somehow Travis really thought so. The monster looks like vampire with terrible makeup, even a ten-year old boy can tell. Oh, so he is ten years old now. But why is he running? After a turn, since there is only a road in front of them, he saw a huge pine tree stand on a hill. Camp Half-blood.
"We're almost there!" He shouted out at Connor and the brown hair girl. The girl seems exhausted and her pace started to slow down.
"I can't..." She tried to speak and run at the same time, apparently, she isn't a child of Hermes but even for a girl at this age she runs pretty slow. He observes her features, her face seems familiar but he can't recall a name. Her skin is pale in an unhealthy color and her bones is visible under her skin, almost popping out. She didn't eat for days. It's not a guess but a factor for anyone who take a look at her status.
"You... you guys go first..."
"No, we are not going to left you behind. You can make it!"
"I'm her target." She said in a low voice.
"What?"
"I'm her target! She isn't after you two." She said the words in a louder voice. How did she know if the monster is after her? "My protector already died under her hands. You guys go first! I can slow her down." Before he had the chance to asked her how, the branches from the trees aside the road reaches out and swiped the monster. Ah, so that is how.
Travis looked at his little brother, and give him a nod, the two people started to run in full speed. When they are a step into the camp border, he heard a scream. He tried to turn back and run to the girl but Connor pull him inside the border. Travis didn't know why but he felt protective towards her. People in the camp rush to them as soon as they spot them and asked questions like: Do you know who you are? Did you encounter any monsters?
"A girl." Connor said when he heard the last question.
"Hm?"
"A girl who had power to control the trees is kill by a vampire." Travis finish Connor's words and started to choke. Gods, he feels awful, the girl just sacrifice herself for him and Connor and he even didn't catch her name.
"A Demeter." "Gods. They never made it. Almost as rare as the Big three now."
Then a thought hit Travis' brain. The girl is Katie Gardner.
Travis snapped his eyes open, took his brain a full ten seconds to knowledge Katie in fact is alive and stay at the very same room. He found her laying on a mattress at a different spot. Travis slowly unwrapped himself and stood up, sneakily make his way to her sides, not waking anyone else up. He tapped her shoulder.
-Katie-
Katie noticed Travis is staring at her during the movies. She mentally asked him what's the matter, but he just refuse to answer, and by the fifth time she gave up. The movie finally finished at two and a half, she stood up, trying to pull a mattress so she can get some rest. But with all the people around she simply couldn't find a space to settle. She saw Travis curled himself on the sofa on the other side of the room. Maybe she could go there and sleep with him? No, crossing the room means risking to wake the people, she doesn't need extra attention. Percy, who is sitting not far from her seems to sense her problem. He princess hugged Annabeth, who is now asleep, and mention Katie to change place with them.
"Hey," Percy whispered, "figured you don't have space, you can set your bed here."
"What about you guys?"
"I will let Beth sleep on me."
"Thanks very much."
"Maybe I just want to cuddle with my girlfriend?" He smiled and look down at Annabeth's sleeping figures fondly.
She doesn't have nightmare this night, which is a little surprise for her, but it doesn't mean she slept well. Perhaps she is used to have Travis sleeping beside her, shesubconsciouslywants to rest in his arms then realized they didn't sleep together right now. Katie feels unsafe.

"Katie-Kat, can you wake up?" Travis' voice rings around her ears, she slowly opens her eyes and saw him kneeing next to her.
"What's wrong? Did I...? But I don't have dreams today?"
"It's me." Oh, so he got a nightmare this time. Most of the time it's herself who have the nightmare problems when they sleep together, Katie almost forget Travis has nightmare, too.
"Okay."
"Mind if I sleep here?" Travis asked after a long silence. He sounded terrified, but she couldn't tell whether it's because the dream or he is afraid she will say no to his request.
"It's fine. Come on." Katie literally dragged Travis into the mattress and throw the blankets over him. She quickly moves herself into their regular position. With Travis' arm at her waist, Katie feels safe, the panic in her mind earlier disappeared the moment she noticed the smell of mint from his clothes.
"Do you want to tell me?"
"Hmm?"
"You said last time, it might get better if you tell someone else."
"Oh. Right. Um, so I dreamt of me, Connor and you—"
"Me?"
"Yeah, we were ten and running, trying to get to camp."
"And then?" Katie don't like where this story is heading.
"We were chased by an empusa, I didn't recognize you at first, though. So, this little you looked like hadn't been eating for days and couldn't catch up with me and Connor anymore. You told us that you are the target of the empusa, you can stay back and buy us time. But when we cross the border, you didn't... you didn't make it."
Travis' voice is shaking by the end of the story. Katie forced herself not to turn around and check on him, figured that him might not want to be check on. She noticed his arm muscle is a little tense around her waist, like he wants to pull her closer but restraint himself not to. Katie thought what Travis needs now is knowing she is very much alive; she tugs herself into his arms. He gasped when he felt her movement and her can tell that he stopped breathing for three full seconds. They just lying there for a few more minutes, neither of them said a words. Some words aren't meant to say out loud.
"Thank you." Travis murmured into her hair behind her. Katie can feel the slightly vibration when he talks. She likes it.

"Gods, I knew somethings is going on between them. Wise girl, you have to see this!" Katie heard some speaking excitedly, not loud but enough for her to be half awake.
"Oh my, we should wake them." The girl, must be Annabeth, sounded amused by the things she saw, but Katie had this bad feeling. Then she remembered, she is now in a room full of her fellow demigods, sleeping in a mattress with her everyone thinks sworn enemy but actually friend: Travis Stoll.
Styx. Katie forced herself lower her head and take a look at Travis watch. 5.30 in the morning, and from the fact she only hears Percy and Annabeth speaking, the others aren't up, yet. They still have time.
"Uhm, Travis," Katie turn around and shake his shoulders, "You need to wake up."
"What 'ime is it? Is it even 6.? I told you I will be up at 6." He replied in his 'I just wake up' voice, it's really deep and with the curly hair plus his face buried in the pillow, Katie just can't help but find him attractive.
"No, it's 5.30. And we are not in my room, Percy and Annabeth is looking at us." And the two people chuckled as Katie finished the sentence. Gods, she is going to die with embarrassment right here in the spot.
"Shit." He is now fully awake.
"Yes, now get the fuck up." Travis pushed himself up and the two of them face the couple. Annabeth looks like she is going to squeezed the true out of them, and blackmail after her questions have answers. Percy looks a lot bit shock, and Katie couldn't figure why.
"Katie, you swear?" Percy blurted. Rest of the three people looked at him and Travis is trying his best to hold his laughter.
"Gods, she swears in my face almost daily basis." He told Percy after calming down.
"What?"
"That's her 'I'm pissed off by you' act."
"Reasonable," Annabeth said, "So, are you two dating?"
"No!" The two whisper-yelled.
"Then why are you two going all cuddly and Katie just said something about being at her room. Do you sneak out at night?"
"It's not like you don't go the Cabin3..." Travis protested.
"You didn't disagree." Travis opened his mouth tried to fired something back but didn't find the words.
"Fine, you catch us." Katie sighed; Travis snapped his head towards her. She shrugged, it's not like they can escape or something. As long as they don't tell anyone, she didn't see why they should denial.
"I though you guys are nemesis. And I don't remember seeing you at this side of the room when Katie and I switch spaces." Percy pointed.
"He is now my official... what is the phrase again?"
"Personal nightmare calm down method."
"Yeah that."
"Okay?" Percy looked confused.
"And we are now friends who annoyed each other." Travis added.
Katie can see the gears turning inside Annabeth head as the girl is thinking whether they should report to Chiron or not.
"We won't tell others." She finally said. Katie let out a sigh.
"Thank youuu!" Travis said, his tensed shoulder started to relax.
"But Travis you need to do me a favor."
"What? How about Katie?"
"No, only you." Annabeth has this 'I'm planning something' face.
"Ehh, didn't tell me is about..." Katie saw Travis quickly glance at her.
"Very well, nice that we have an agreement on something." Annabeth sounds excited and Katie can't figure why. More like she doesn't want to know, if there is anything can let Annabeth excited, it's either very good like everyone gets a little benefit or very bad as in someone is going to suffer. She hopes this time is the former.
"Uhm, what are you two talking about?" she asked them. Percy and Annabeth chuckled.
"Sorry Katie, this is for me to keep and for you to find out." Percy winked.
"Katie-Kat, why didn't you first head back to your room and get change? It's almost 6."
"Geez, I don't need a mother to remind me this kind of things now." Katie pouted. Knowing she won't get any answers out of the three people, she walks to the door, carefully not to trip on others, who are still sleeping on the floor. Before she left, she heard Travis whining to the couple.
-Travis-
"Seriously, you two are using a favor on this kind of things? Confess to Katie? Are you mad?" He started to ramble as soon as Katie is out of earshot.
"Very much, who in this room isn't?" Percy said.
"Seaweed Brain shut up. And you, don't tell me same crap like 'She don't have the same feels to me' " Annabeth turned to face Travis after telling her boyfriend to hush.
"How do you—"
"I didn't tell you to confess to her, just ask her to the fireworks."
"But what if someone else asked her already? What if she says no?"
"First of all, the whole camp knows you like her, so no one will dare to ask her unless they want to be prank for the whole summer."
"Is it really that obvious?" He murmured.
"Yes, just like this seaweed brain over here."
"Hey!"
"Second, she won't say no." Annabeth said like it's a fact.
"How could you be so sure?"
"She already let you sleep in her bed; I'm sure going to the fireworks won't be a harm."
"Fine... I'm do this for not selling us out."
"Deal."
Travis started to think. The firework is on fourth of July, it's mid-May right now, so he gets one and a half month to collect his guts and ask Katie to go to with him. He had asked girls to the fireworks before, but somehow asking Katie is way more nervous to him.
️-Behind the scene- ️
"Connor, do you like the idea of set a betting poll on when Travis and Katie will get together?" Percy asked when Travis left the movie room.
"Ohh. I love this idea."
The whole camp, excluding Travis and Katie themselves, begin to have their best guess on when they will start dating, some even say till the next year! (Even Chiron and Mr.D, too. Apparently, the whole camp can't stand more of their 'dancing around each other' drama.)
Which version of the spiderman movies are your first pick?! (Mine is Andrew;)
The next chapter is about the nicknames~
