Summer holidays
At the beginnign of the summer holidays, while Robert Anderson is away, Pam Anderson manages to get a few days off. She and Blaine pack some things, book a plane ticket and fly to London to visit Blaines aunt on her vacation. Blaine didn't see her in the past four years and she actually moved to Lima two years ago.
They only stay there for a week but it's worth it and Blaine of course sends Kurt a postcard.

As you can see we really went to London.
It's so cool here and I want no I need to come back here again and then maybe for longer than a week.
We did a lot of sight seeing but there's so much to see that we couldn't possibly see everything in a week time.
I hope you have fun with Rachel and I'll expect your card from yet another country.

A week after Blaine came back from London Kurt, Rachel and her dads go on vacation. Last year they went to Spain and this year they decided to visit Italy. But just like last year they mix beach, city and sight seeing in one vacation.
Ciao Blaine
That means hello and at the same time goodbye, Kinda confusing to be honest,
I think in general I like Spain more than Italy but the fashion here is amazing and we did more sight seeing than last year,
The two weeks passed away too fast but I'm kinda glad to go back home, Dad met with Carol more often and Finn and Sam met but I'm happy when Rachel and can meet with everyone at home again,
Maybe I can ask her if we can go to London next year if her dads are okay with taking me with them another year and you can ask your aunt if she's in London again and if you can come,

This time Kurt is home when Blaines birthday comes closer and he definitly won't only send a letter after what Blaine did at his birthday.
He has something in mind and if everything goes right Blaine gets his present on time in less than two weeks. Hopefully he'll like it.
Meanwhile in Westerville
Blaine really enjoyed his holidays so far. As long as his mom got off days they were in London. When she had to work he was allowed to watch TV and when Wes was also back home again they did something together. In the evening Pam and Blaine did something together after dinner.
Without his dad in the house and no school Blaine had time to practice playing the guitar and even played some songs for himself or even his mom. But as soon as Robert is back everything changed again and the house feels cold again. He's in a slightly better mood than usual but that's only a question of time.
Blaines birthday
Wes and Blaine spend his birthday alone in the zoo. Pam couldn't get the day off and Robert of course didn't even bothered to try and he's working from home anyway so it's good that they went to the zoo. But Blaine got some money from his mom to buy the tickets and some food and ice for them both.
"You know if my dad wouldn't work from home today I'd invite you over" Blaine says when he and his best friend stop to get some ice cream.
"I honestly don't always get why he's so strict but if you ever want to get out for a little time you can come over to my house and maybe even spend the night from time to time if that's okay for your mom at least. You're always welcome at our house" Wes says and squeezes Blaines shoulder a little.
The afternoon was great but the day gets even better when Blaine comes home. His dad lays on the couch. Passed out. But his mom is in the kitchen and cooks something that smells delicious. Blaine knows this smell by heart.
"Hey mom. I'm home" he greets, entering the kitchen while his mom greets back "Hey birthday boy. Had a good day?". "Amazing but now I'm starving" her son answers and both laugh quietly to not wake the man in the living room.
"I made your favorite. But it still needs half an hour. Why don't you go up to your room as long? There's a present from someone special waiting for you on the bed" Pam says and her sons face lightens up.
Fast he runs up the stairs and to his room. There it is. A brown package on his bed and the adress on it in Kurts handwriting. Kurt send him a present and Blaine is sure that he'll love whatever it is.
Carefully he opens the box to reveal it's content and on top of whatever is in there lays a letter that Blaine takes and reads.
Dear Blaine
Happy birthday to the best friend in the world, I hope you have or had a great day (depending on when this box reaches you),
Now you finally see what I made out of your bow tie designs from the present that you gave me, Also in there you find something else that you hopefully like and don't already own because I really hope I picked something right,
Partly Rachel had to help me pick because I couldn't decide but else I won't write much more about that here because you will get more informations from the sticky notes on the presents,
You have to tell me about your day. What you did, which cake you got and I don't know what else,

The curly haired boy smiles and then looks into the box. There is another, smaller box with a blue sticky note on it and a book. It's not a normal book and that immediatly catches Blaines attention so he takes it out and only then realizes what kind of book it is with a yellow sticky note on it.

It's a song book. Top songs for accustic guitar. No he didn't has that one yet and he's so happy that Kurt remembered.
With a big grin Blaine looks through the pages. Here comes the sun, let it be, against all odds, all of me, dancing on my own, the luckiest and so many more. Blaine loves it.
Then he puts the song book aside and takes the other box out of the package. The one with the blue sticky note.

Kurt knows a lot about fashion. Or that's what it sounds like in his letters. So naturally Blaine is curious on what Kurt made out of his partly silly designs.
In the box are three bow ties. Pink sticky note, green sticky note and orange sticky note.
First Blaine takes the one on the top with the green sticky note.
This one doesn't really got something to do with your design but I saw it in the mall and I just had to buy it!

When Blaine takes the note away it reveals the patterns of a bow tie. A yellow one but not too bright yellow with a 3d wave pattern. It's beautiful. His new favorite.
Pink sticky note in the middle is the bow tie he chooses next.

Kurts bow tie is stunning. Plain black but with red dots that are circled by a yellow ring. Both of their favorite colors combined on a simple black background. The other one is beautiful but this one is his new favorite now. The yellow one comes second.
Last is the bow tie with the orange sticky note and Blaine already has a feeling which bow tie this could be now.
You had some interesting designs and even tho I find the idea of a birthday cake bow tie interesting and funny I settled on something simpler, I hope you like how this design of yours turned out,

Blaine actually has some teas in his eyes when he takes the sticky note away and looks at the bow tie. Royal blue with white notes. He designed it as a silly idea for Kurts birthday and now on his own birthday he holds one of his designs in his hand. And Kurt made it just for him.
Blaine loves all three bowties. He puts them away safely before wiping away the tears that were now rolling down his cheeks. His dad taught him that men don't cry. But the again it's his dad.
The curly haired boy sits down at his desk, writing a letter to Kurt before dinner is ready.

Best birthday ever. Wes and I went to the zoo and got ice cream. No cake this year but way too much ice cream.
And then there's your gift and it just made this birthday so much better. You put so much effort and thought in that and I just love it.
I didn't had the song book yet and I it's my new favorite now.
And those bow ties. I love love love them. Honestly. I have three new favorites now and I never thought something I designed can look so good (for a second I really thought you made that one with the birthday cake).
Also the one you designed looks gorgeous and so simple but still so good and trendy. I don't know how you did that but I love it.
I'm so thankful that I can't even put it in words but I guess the happy tears I just wiped away for the second time now should say enough.

Just as he finishes writing his mom calls Blaine down for dinner. Quickly Blaine puts the letter in an envelope and goes down. He needs to tell his mom what Kurt gave him for his birthday.
