I have deleted the ch. 3-6 because there is a more ramificated and longer storyline now and thus the deleted chapters are uploaded later each per week, when I have overhauled them one by one.
Viqi was brought by Amorrn to the Lower Levels of Coruscant until they reached a dark cave. Amorrn opened a door and behind was a room filled with other Shamed Ones.
"You will make a stew from Granite Slugs for us", her new companion told her and threw a bag to her feet.
Horrified Viqi looked at the many gray, badly smelling slugs rolling and crouching out of the bag's open cleft.
"Come on, hurry up, before they will escape", Amorrn snorted. "I have to tend to some matters on the surface now. He turned to his companions. "Feel free to eat without me. I'll eat what you leave me later."
A murmur of awe went through the group of the Shamed Ones because of Amorrn's modesty and humility, then he went back to the planet's surface.
Viqi was shown where the fire place was, but she cooked the Granite Slugs too long and much too hot, that they melted into hard chunks, and all Shamed Ones cringed their crooked and inflamed noses and choked the first bite out of their hungry throats right after swallowing it.
"So you can't cook", Amorrn stated accusingly, after the Shamed Ones by his return have told him, what had happened.
"So why should I?", Viqi snapped back. "In my home in the royal palace of Kuat there was a qualified cook and later as a senator I preferred to eat out in a restaurant."
The next day, Amorrn gave her a carving knife from Yorik coral and spoke to her: „Viqi, you will now carve us some furniture from wood, that I may have a chair and a table to do my administrative work there."
With those words he pointed at a pile of wooden logs brought by another Shamed One and Viqi's heart sank into the lower regions of her body.
Amorrn left her to get things done – things he was silent about towards Viqi, and so she started to carve. Alone, the sharp coral knife cut into her hands, that they become bleeding and everything she got to craft, became kinky and crooked, that the chair was rickety and the table broke instantly, when after his return Amorrn put just one file on its surface.
"I think you will never learn any productive craft, Viqi", the Shamed One blamed her. "Hence you will accompany me on my looting raids."
"Looting raids?", the princess shrugged. "Am I now an ordinary thief?"
"Earlier as a senator you drained money for the refugee organization SELCORE to one of your private bank accounts", Amorrn sneered. "Where is the difference?"
"As a senator I worked under a solid roof.
If only I'd taken Pedric Cuf!",
she lamented anew.
"You won't say that disgusting name anymore!", Amorrn barked. "We Shamed Ones were cast out from the society of the Yuuzhan Vong, because our bodies did reject the implants, which our people like to adorn their bodies with so much. But we will take from the upper casts, what they deny us. At first we'll take food and tools, and later we will get back our honor and dignity."
From this day on Viqi accompanied Amorrn on his robbing raids, where he broke into Damuteks of the Shapers to steal eating providers and Muur seeds, to make a tasty meal from. Beside this they stole Amphistaffs and Coufee daggers for their later defense, just in case of need. Viqi was very skillful in these raids and thus she became a trustee for Amorrn and they talked about this and that.
Then another day came, when Amorrn was out alone and Viqi stayed in the cave, her new home, to wait for him. He came later than usual and deep sorrow was in his eyes.
"What happened that you look so concerned?", Viqi wondered.
"A very important mission failed and now the Warmaster unleashed his stooges on me. It won't take long til they will have reached our hideout. Hence we pack everything together and leave."
Viqi and the Shamed Ones packed their most important belongings and as soon as they had left the cave, they heard the battle cries of the incoming warriors.
And this happened likewise two weeks later and after three more weeks again and this time the half of the Shamed One community was killed by Tsavong Lah's henchmen, and hence Viqi spoke to Amorrn: "How long can we still hide from Tsavong Lah's wrath and what it is about anyway?"
Amorrn stayed silence for a long time, then he told her: "I made the acquaintance with a captive Jedi and he offered us Shamed Ones salvation, when one of us will travel with him to Mon Cala, the new capital of the New Republic and become a secret ally of the new Chief of state there."
„May I tell you something, Amorrn?", Viqi started to confess, „That time, when I and my men in Tsavong Lah's service followed that Lord Nyax, I also pondered about going with the Jedi there – back to my homeland, but I just couldn't."
„I couldn't either", Amorrn revealed, „because I couldn't leave you here alone."
"But we didn't even know each other back then, because I only came to you after that mission," Viqi replied. "Or could it be that you were already watching me back then?"
"What a sharp mind you have, Viqi," he said appreciatively. "But yes, I saw you then and fell in love with you immediately. I then returned to my own mission, and so helped said Jedi escape. The Warmaster's wrath has haunted me ever since."
„It is good to know, that I mean that much to you, but what do we do now to end this enduring persecution?"
He stroked her black hair. „Don't worry, Viqi. I already have hatched out a plan to orchestrate the downfall of Tsavong Lah, that we may live on here in peace and tranquility until our salvation will be near."
And so Amorrn climbed up from the cave to the surface of the planet and contacted the Warmaster.
"Well, the Jedi has escaped my surveillance and I will take the full punishment for this my negligence, but before just let me make amends for my mistake, because I got reliable information about where the new government of the New Republic is situated now – not at Mon Cala, but in the deep core, at Ebaq 9."
"These are good news", the Warmaster hummed. "When it is true, as you said, you will be escalated to be the favorite of the gods. If not, you have forfeited your miserable life forever!"
„So be it", Amorrn said, then he submitted his plan to the Warmaster.
He put the villip aside and moments later he pulled out his comlink to call the Jedi he had told Viqi about.
"The Warmaster is assembling the fleet to attack Ebaq 9 to capture your new government there and to prepare them as worthy sacrifices to the gods – the Chief of State and all the senators."
Jacen Solo cocked his right brow. "But the government of the New Republic is not at Ebaq 9."
"But I told the Warmaster so. You may surprise him there. Perhaps in advance and as bait you quickly send a senator to Ebaq 9 who isn't of much use for the New Republic or for the Jedi anyway." He scratched his chin. „How about Ta'laam Ranth or Fyor Rodan?"
„You rather not tell us whom to commit treason on", Jacen admonished the Yuuzhan Vong. "My mom would say: Be careful about the recommendations you make, because they could be applied on you too."
„Just make sure that the Warmaster will not escape on Ebaq 9 then."
"If it is true, what you have told me, I will put in a good word for you before our government, when the invasion can be stopped this way and when we have taken your high ranking people into custody", Jacen Solo spoke. "But if you are lying and deceiving us, then I will tell my auntie!"
Amorrn started to shiver. "Just not this, but anyway, it will come out very well."
Jacen was just about to end the connection when Amorrn said: "You are Jedi and you can and do know some things. With us Yuuzhan Vong there is a legend that somewhere there is a living planet that could bring us salvation. Do you or someone like you know where this planet is?"
Jacen thought for a moment. "Yes, we do know such a planet."
"Will you give me the coordinates to travel there, Jacen? I want that so much. Please, please, please!"
"First time will tell if your words and plan to ruin your Warmaster are true. If so, I'll be happy to tell you where that planet is - and we'll have two Jedi to escort you there," Jacen smiled slyly, "just to be safe."
The trap of the New Republic snapped and Warmaster Tsavong Lah was caught in it until his death, and the news of that spread onto the new cave of the Shamed Ones.
"Even when you are dwelling in this cave, owning almost nothing, you have defeated the Warmaster with your ruse and thus you brought us more security", Viqi said and snuggled up to Amorrn.
And so it happened, that on the evening of this day, Viqi overcame her disgust and became truly the companion of Amorrn.
„Viqi, with this your love you gave back to me that trust, I deemed to have lost forever", Amorrn told her the next morning. "This way, you have given me a new hope and hence I shall forward this hope to others."
"So how will you do that?", Viqi asked.
"You will see", he replied enigmatically.
The next day he gathered all Shamed Ones around him and spoke: „From now on, I'm not Amorrn anymore, but you shall call me Yu'shaa - the prophet. And hence in a vision I saw a planet which is truly living. This planet is called Zonama Sekot and it will salvage us and bring peace to our people and to this galaxy. Then we won't be Shamed Ones anymore but free and equal next to the warriors, priests and workers – living side by side – as brothers."
„But when there is no war anymore, what will the warriors do then?", a Shamed One named Kunra asked and Viqi knew, that once he'd been a warrior.
"The warriors will train furtherly, but they will take action just in case of an attack from outside", Yu'shaa answered Kunra's question. "We will maintain just defensive forces then."
„But when everybody is just defending himself and no one is attacking anymore, for what we need an army then anyway?", Shoon-mi, another Shamed One asked, who was a worker previously.
"That is one of those goods questions, I will pose to the Jeedai – our new allies", Yu'shaa announced.
"We work together with the Jedi?", Viqi asked anxiously, because she feared Mara Jade's revenge for her failed abduction of her little son Ben.
"Don't worry, Viqi", Yu'shaa whispered into her ear. "It will not be Mara Jade, with whom I will travel to the planet of our salvation. And until then I will have negotiated an agreement guaranteeing amnesty for all repenting Yuuzhan Vong and defectors. I'm good in such."
"Your word in Yun-Harla's ear", Viqi whispered. "When will you depart?"
"Next morning already", Yu'shaa said and took her hand to push it gently.
And thus Viqi stayed back alone with the Shamed Ones, while the self-proclaimed prophet headed for his journey into the uncertain.
