Well everyone after seven years of being together, on October 2nd at Disneyland, I proposed and she said yes! I am now engaged to my girlfriend! I also will be planning to write an original Star Wars story someday but for now, I'll be focusing on DxD. Now let's get going!
Wacko12: Yes I am using the axe from marvel as Thor's primary weapon. This and another marvel character will be the only elements used from Marvel.
Merendinoemiliano: I hope I can capture that same atmosphere in this chapter too.
Lorenzo Macchiavelli: Thor angry Thor smash!
heleltd: Thank you, she loves the ring! :D
c18Sovereign: That's quite the theory you have. Will have to see what the future holds.
Dustfan: And more chapters will come
The great axe sliced a Chimera in two with ease before doing the same to a Minotaur. A brief clash between the God of Thunder and a Cyclops happened before Jarnbjorn found its mark in the giant's throat. A rain of magic bullets sailed overhead, hitting a Cerberus, and was finished by the thunder-infused axe. Despite all the monsters he slew since obtaining the new Jarnbjorn, more monsters rushed the God. Thor scoffed, such arrogance thinking they could defeat the Strongest Warrior in Asgard.
"Rose!"
That was all the silver-haired maiden needed to hear before bombarding the rushing enemies with all the magic she knew. Their determination was admirable but foolish to the Valkyrie. While they were easy to deal with, their overwhelming numbers were making it difficult to reach the conference hall the Olympians were trapped in. For each monster, they killed another came to take its place, it was like fighting the Hydra if they had no knowledge of how to defeat it. The other problem was by the time they reached the Gods they would be deprived of energy and Thor had already endured tough fighting protecting Hephaestus while he worked on Jarnbjorn.
She noticed the growing frustration on Thor's face as he killed what was possibly his seventieth enemy. When he was nearly hit by a mace the young God released a roar of fury as he slammed the axe head into the ground unleashing a shockwave of thunder and lightning at the enemy. Those closets were disintegrated by the power while those in the back were sending flying in all directions. The young God was growing in skills and so was his anger.
"Flee if you value your lives!" The God of Thunder roared at the top of his lungs, a flash of yellow twinkling in his eyes.
"Yes! Flee so that I may spill his blood!"
"Behind you!"
Rossweisse's warning came in time for the Aesir to hear. Spinning on his heels the axe half was met by two scimitars dripping with blood. Both belong to a beautiful woman with an insane look in her eye.
"I take it, your Enyo?" Asked Thor as he pushed her away.
"The one and only Goddess of War." The orange-haired girl answered before rushing the redhead again.
Swords and axe sparked as they exchanged attacks with one another. The Goddess of War was fast and ferocious in her onslaught against Odin's son but she lacked tact. Sidestepping a swing Thor twirled his weapon allowing the handle to knock her left sword out of her hand and deal a hard punch to the face. He didn't care if she was a woman, she was an enemy and had to be dealt with. The Goddess growled in delight but before she could attack Thor fired a blast of lightning from the axe catching the Goddess by surprise and forcing her to dodge the spell.
"It's said you're the strongest warrior in Asgard. The stories did not lie. I can't wait to take that title away after I take your head!"
Before she could resume her battle a hail of magic bullets came flying towards her forcing the Goddess to doge again. She sneered at the Valkyrie who managed to send a spell her way while fending off monsters. Picking the sound of an object hurtling through the air, Enyo ducked in time to see Jarnbjorn go flying over her head before returning to the God's outstretched hand. Her heart began to beat faster, excitement coursing through her veins. She was right to attack the God of Thunder, this was proving to be funner than slaughtering defenseless servants.
"Why are you doing this?" Thor asked, making sure to keep Enyo from reaching her lost sword, "Why betray Olympus? Why wish to destroy it?"
"To cause chaos!" Enyo retorted loudly, "That is our plan. That is Khaos Brigades plan. To see the world be flung into chaos. To enslave the humans and dispose of the weak who wish for peace. There can never be true peace. It may prosper but chaos and war are always waiting to happen."
Thor was taken aback by the Goddess. She seriously told him their plan and the name of the organization she was part of? Clearly, she thinks she can kill him after telling him all that.
She was wrong.
The Goddess attacked again intending to finish the fight quickly, Thor dodged to the left, grabbed her weaponless hand, and threw her hard into a column on the opposite side of the plaza they were in. The thick marble construct cracked before collapsing around the Goddess. Not caring if she was dead or alive Thor assisted Rossweisse in dealing with the monsters who fled at seeing their lead be defeated so easily. Now they could hopefully reach the conference hall and end this madness.
As they ran he recalled the fight at the forge and how Sigrun and Rossweisse worked together. Sigrun said they were the strongest team and that fight had proven it. While Sigrun slashed away at her foes Rossweisse provided cover with magic and barriers but now they were split up. A feeling of dread filled Thor, could Sigrun handle Heracles? He struggled against the hero but he was only using his fists, not Jarnbjorn.
"Sigrun will be fine." Rossweisse reassured when noticed Thor's concerned face, "Heracles is tough but I know Sigrun will find a way to beat him."
"You know when I first met Eris she said those same words Enyo said. 'Peace will never occur while chaos thrives.' Is that some kind of motto this Khaos Brigade has and could she possibly be one of its founders? She is the Goddess of Chaos and this organization shared the name of her title."
"It is possible. We should focus on getting to the Gods. Hopefully, we aren't too late."
Olympus summit
Heracles climbed the stairs to Olympus summit unopposed, monsters knowing he was on their side and the servants thinking he was on his way to protect the Flame of Olympus, not destroy it. How arrogant of them to believe he came back for them, were in actuality he came back to destroy Olympus and show humans are just as capable of killing Gods. Especially those who ally with monsters who harm humans. Of course, they were allies with monsters and Gods at the moment but these monsters were just simple tools to be used for the compilation of their goals. His master was truly surprised when Gods from Olympus came to them saying they would help in destroying Olympus or at the very least getting rid of Zeus and the others who planned to join with Asgard. When he had completed his task he would leave as soon as possible and report what he learned about Thor, it would fascinate his master greatly.
Reaching the final steps he looked back to see the destruction rampaging below. Buildings burned and smoke rose from the fires raging all over the kingdom. It's a shame he had to do this instead of being down there fighting Achilles, Hector, and Jason. It would have been such a battle to face the heroes of Troy and the Argonauts leader. If they survived the attack, if he met them again then maybe he could fight them.
Heracles continued forward to see an enormous Parthenon its roof supported by columns shaped like the Gods. Leading up a flight of stairs was a golden basin full of fire. It wasn't ordinary fire, it was the power source to Olympus and Greece's magic, the Flame of Olympus. Now it would be extinguished and the Gods would be helpless in defending their home. Zeus said the Flame of Olympus was eternal they say, well it was time to prove that old fool wrong.
Heracles pulled his fist back charging up all the power he could into his Sacred Gear then threw it forward, only to be met by a layered wall of barrier seals. The Hero grunted in frustration, of course, the power source would be heavily protected. Enyo should have told him that before the attack began so he could have an easier time extinguishing the fires. Seeing no other choice but to punch his way through he charged up another punch but again the barrier didn't waver. This time, this punch would be the one to shatter this stupid barrier!
Suddenly a sheet of ice erupted between the barrier and the traitorous Son of Zeus preventing his punch from shattering the barrier. As the shards of ice fell he saw two figures in its reflection. Turning around to see who would face him he was amused to find it was the emerald armored Valkyrie and the Einherjar.
"Are you all who have come to stop me? I was expecting Thor." Heracles scoffed.
"Thor is on his way to release the Gods." Sigrun answered, "Enyo's overconfidence allowed us to know what your plan is and who betrayed Olympus. You and Eris are in league with the Goddess of War to see the Olympians fall."
The giant demi-god frowned, if Enyo survived this he would make her pay for telling their plan.
"If you think you can stop me, you are mistaken. I am Heracles! Your precious Thunder God couldn't beat me so neither can you!"
"Is that so? Then why were you pulling your punches against Odin's son?" Sigrun remarked, a smirk flickering across her lips at the anger flashing across Heracles face, "You still had to play the part of being allies to us. You say Thor, a God, can't beat you? I'd like to see you say that again when you fight him for real. Oh wait, that won't happen cuz you'll be dead."
"I'll be dead? It is you who will die!" Heracles yelled and charged the Valkyrie.
Sigrun answered in kind by causing pillars to sprout from the ground, yet each was easily shattered. Seeing ice would not work, she withdrew her sword from the ground and coated the blade in fire, and swung it at the demi-god, sending forth a wave of flames at him. To her surprise, Heracles barrelled through the attack before throwing his fist at her. Sigrun immediately jumped away but Heracles, despite his size, closed the distance again and threw his fist forward. The large fist impacted against her stomach and released a miniature explosion that sent the girl flying across the room into a statue of Apollo causing cracks to form within it. Sigrun winced at the damage done by the attack, her suit had a large hole with the edges burned exposing her bruised stomach.
Shit! He really was pulling his punches against Thor. Maybe Rose should have faced him instead…
She glanced towards Andrew who rushed the Hero, intending to aid Sigrun. Narrowly avoiding a fist, the Einherjar thrust his spear at the demi-god who grabbed the shaft and easily snapped it before sending a flurry of punches at the warrior. Sigrun watched the Greek raise his shield to take the attacks but was blown away when the shield exploded upon impact by the many punches. Regaining her strength she coated her sword in ice and flew straight at the hero her sword meeting his fist, to her horror the ice and sword shattered to piece. Before she could react, Heracles punched her hard in the face the screams of agony she let loose were drowned out by the giant man's explosive fist.
Conference room
Zeus watched as another monster fell to Achillies' blade, the King of the Gods was impressed and proud of them, their descendants would be proud. An hour had passed since the battle started yet not one hero had fallen to the superior numbers of the enemy. Jason's Sacred Gear and Hector's genius had shown no matter how many troops you have they amount to nothing to skill and tactics. With each monster killed it added to the pile that was forming in front of the heroes. If this kept up a wall of corpses would aid the heroes defense.
"Do you think those Asgardians are okay?" Asked Athena, she fretted being stuck in this dome unable to help the warrior maidens protect Olympus.
"The Valkyries are tough warriors and they have the God of Thunder with them." Reassured Aphrodite."
"What did Enyo mean by Eris learning the secret?" Despoina asked.
All eyes turned to Zeus when the question was asked, keen on knowing what the traitorous Goddess meant. Their king refused to meet their eyes, hesitant to tell them his greatest secret only himself and Hera knew. What was it he kept secret from Eris, from all of Olympus, that would make Zeus' daughter betray them?
"Hera, what has my brother kept hidden from us? We are trapped here, unable to help and at any moment Olympus Flame may be put out. Surely we too deserve to know the truth."
Hera looked between Poseidon and Zeus, her husband still refusing to meet their eyes. Pity filled the woman's eyes, she had been his wife for centuries and knew him better than anyone. Zeus' morale had been shattered by what was happening today; the deception and betrayal of family, the Gods trapped in a barrier while the enemy slaughters the innocent. It was obvious Eris, Heracles, and Enyo were not the masterminds behind this attack. Whoever the tactical genius that planned this was still hiding in the shadows. Perhaps he or she wanted to reveal themselves once they achieved victory over them.
"Zeus! What did you keep hidden from us?" Poseidon asked again, a hint of aggression in his tone.
As they waited for an answer, a Cyclops tried breaking the heroes defense yet he too was slaying by the mighty Achilles, adding to the wall of corpses piling up forcing the monsters to either clamber over or around the dead giant.
"There is no point hiding it anymore. If we are to die then I must share my greatest secret…"
Meanwhile…
Brynhildr sighed after finishing the last monster in the area. All-day she had been zipping around the battle searching for her troops, her sisters, to inform them of what was going on and aid them however she could. Right now she had just found Schwertleite and Herja protecting a ground of servents taking shelter within a building. It was easy for the commander of the Valkyries to deal with yet even she had to admit with so many numbers the defenders would run out of stamina. Nevertheless, they had to keep fighting until the Gods were free, a task she hoped would be done soon. If the Gods did go on the attack the enemy would retreat, the wrath of a God was not something they wished to witness as she had done many times in Asgard.
"Lady Brynhildr, should we go and protect the Flame of Olympus? It would be wise to aid Sigrun and the Einherjar against Heracles."
"I have faith in them. Brynhildr is a capable warrior and the Einherjar… and Andrew is stronger than he looks."
"But surely-"
"Schwertleite, there is no point arguing. I will not send you to help Sigrun. We're already stretched thin and we can't focus all our defenses at the forge, the conference hall, or the summit. We need to protect all of Olympus."
"Then let's close up that portal." Herja said, "Rota said it was in the main plaza. We fight our way to that, destroy it, and no more monsters can come through."
"Destroy the portal?" Repeated Brynhildr, "It's worth a try. Without the Hydra, we may have a chance at destroying or the very least seal it off."
Rota ran into the chief Valkyrie and informed her what had happened at Hephaestus Forge. How they withstood the onslaught the monsters threw at them and how Thor's upgraded Jarnbjorn took down a Hydra with the help of Rossweisse's knowledge.
"Should I get Grimgerde, Helmwige, and Ortlinde? We four are your warriors under Brynhildr."
"Indeed you four are, however, if we do that we'd have to search everywhere. No, you and Herja will do. Here is the plan…"
Conference Hallway
On and on the God and Valkyrie went, their stamina slowly regaining after facing so many enemies. They had reached the seventh level of the kingdom and at last, reached the corridor leading to the conference hall. Soon they will save the Gods and turn the tide of the battle.
"Hold it!" Cried Rossweisse as she flung her arm out to prevent Thor from going any further.
"What's wrong? Why are we stopping?"
"That's what concerns me. After reaching the seventh floor we haven't come across any monsters and this corridor should be full of monsters guarding it against anyone trying to reach the Gods. I wonder…" Picking up a fallen weapon she threw it down the corridor and a number of magic seals appeared all along the hallway obliterating the weapon in an instant. Rossweisse grimaced, "Just as I thought. It's rigged."
"Very impressive, Valkyrie. You managed to catch onto my trap."
The Asgardians whipped around at the voice, standing behind them was the woman Thor was hoping to see since arriving at Hephaestus forge.
"Eris!"
"Hello Thor," the dark-haired beauty said, "Hephaestus has improved your weapon I see. Of course, the God of Smithing could make your weapon better."
"Jarnbjorn has been cleaning up the mess you, Enyo, and Heracles have created. It was foolish of her to tell the Gods everything. Brynhildr managed to escape the trap and told us all. We are going to save the Gods and stop your plans from coming to fruition." Rossweisse said, her mind racing on how to quickly deal with the Goddess of Chaos. She could attack from range while Thor got up close to keep her from using spells or did she need her staff to do that?
"I'm not quite sure about that. Olympus Flame is about to be extinguished and the Gods will lose their powers."
"But so will you!" Thor protested his face wrapped in concern for her.
The tiniest trace of a smile flickered across her lips, "Your concern is grateful, Thor. However, I have other magic. Magic that my father kept secret from me for years."
Thor's brow furrowed, Eris knew other types of magic? What did she know outside Greek magic? The answer was immediate and it startled him greatly. Rossweisse was surprised too, for she gave a gasp as six black feathery wings sprouted from the Goddess' back.
"You… have Fallen Angel blood?" Thor said.
Neither he nor Rossweisse expected this revelation by Eris. Yet something in the back of his head told he should have known, the red eyes, black hair, and mix of purple and black attire screamed Fallen Angel. If she was a Goddess and Fallen Angel it meant Zeus must have had sex with a Fallen Angel but when and more importantly why?
As if reading Thor's thoughts, Eris answered, "I'm the creation between Zeus and a Fallen Angel Cadre named Celine. She came to Greece seeking aid to fight in the war. Zeus fell in love with her and together they made me. Unfortunately, she didn't live to see me. She died in the Great War and my heritage was kept secret by Zeus. He was scared to have a Fallen Angel, not a Goddess, as a daughter! All this time he lied to me, kept me in the dark about who my real mother was! A mother I'll never get to meet because of him!"
"So you think destroying Olympus is the way to seek revenge? You don't have to hold on to this hatred!"
Eris snorted at his retort, "You're one to talk! You hate the Church for making you their weapon!"
"You told her!?" Yelled Rossweisse, "You told her despite my warning not to share this information with anyone!?"
Thor refused to meet Rossweisse's gaze, sensing the hurt and betrayal in her words. He had broken her trust by sharing his secret with Eris but he didn't assume she would betray them. Yet she was right; he was holding onto a hatred he should have cast aside long ago.
"That is different. You were kept a secret while I-"
"Enough of this. I'm giving you a choice; lower your weapon and walk away. I don't wanna hurt you."
The pleading note in her tone was proof but he couldn't do that, not when she planned to destroy Olympus. The God of Thunder readied himself for the coming fight. Thor didn't want to hurt her either, however, she brought this upon herself and must be stopped no matter the cost.
"Thor…" Started Rossweisse byt Thor but in.
"This fight is mine alone, Rossweisse. I made the mistake of trusting her and will correct it. Go and save the Gods, save Olympus."
Rossweisse hesitated, she couldn't leave him to face her alone. Together they'd have a better chance of winning and afterward scold him for breaking his word to her. Why did he do it? She told him before leaving Asgard not to tell anyone about his affiliation to the Church but he went behind her back and shared it with Eris and most likely Heracles too and they both had betrayed Olympus meaning if they weren't stopped now they would surely spread the word.
"Rossweisse!" Thor yelled, snapping the Valkyrie out of her thoughts.
"Thor I strongly-"
"We don't have time to argue! Get going! Stop wasting time and go save Zeus and the others!"
Eris raised her hand and hundreds of light spears were sent towards the God and Valkyrie. Thor answered in kind by swinging at any spear that came his way while Rossweisse fired her own spells at the projectiles. When Rossweisse threw up a barrier between herself and the spears, Thor rushed the Goddess hoping to end the battle quickly, such an idea was cut short when Eris flew past him towards Rossweisse. The speed she sped at Rossweisse was too great for the girl to react and was sent flying as her barrier was shattered by a close-range spell from Eris. Realizing she was flying into the booty-trapped hallway Rossweisse twisted her body and spread her arms wide creating hundreds of magical seals around her that countered the spells with her own, even managing to overpower a few.
"Rose, get going!" Thor shouted over his shoulder.
Not like she had much of a choice now that she was in the hallway being peppered from all sides by spells. Turning her back on the God of Thunder she sped down the hallway hoping beyond hope that she wasn't too late to save the Gods.
Back at the corridor entrance, Thor swung his weapon at the Goddess missing her by an inch. Every time he got close she flew away and fired light spears at him. This was repeated five more times until a pause in the battle commenced.
"Eris, please stop this! We don't have to fight! We can save your father and he can explain everything!"
"There is nothing my father can say that'll make me forgive him! I was told everything by him!"
Before Thor could ask who had told her this secret, which seemed impossible if Zeus was the only one to know, Eris redoubled her attack on Odin's son who quickly countered with a spell of his own. Thunder and light spears cancel each other out leaving a miniature explosion to erupt between the combatants. Thor wasted no time, jumping into the air he activated flight magic and sped through the smoke towards Eris but found her ready for him, a light spear in one hand and an Olympian magic seal in the other.
"I'm sorry." She muttered and fired the spell.
With no time to activate a barrier or fire a spell, Thor empowered Jarnbjorn with thunder before swinging it quickly. The large axe, to both Thor and Eris' surprise, sliced through the spell as if it was a loaf of bread. Just what did Hephaestus do to make it so powerful?
It's over! He just has to close the distance, put her to axe point, and-his hope for the battle being over was cut short as Eris spread her wings wide and from them shot multiple feathers as hard as steel hitting Thor at point-blank range, cutting his face and piercing his already damaged armor with ease. Thor's pain doubled as the light spear was stabbed into his stomach, the power of the attack sending him falling to the marble floor, blood streaming from the wounds. Thor grit his teeth as he impacted hard against the floor as spiderweb cracks formed from it. Surprise filled Thor as he laid there with blood flooding out his stomach, he never knew Fallen Angels could use their feathers can be used as projectiles!?
The black-haired hybrid sent more light spears and feathers raining down upon Thor. Unable to roll away from the attack he just took and a spear stuck in his stomach, Thor dropped Jarnbjorn and cast as powerful of a defense spell as he could. The large blue magic seal with the Odinson crest in the center appearing between the God and the attack in the nick of time. He really was lucky to have those books Rose gave him, defense magic was proving vital in saving his life. However the barrier couldn't hold forever, cracks were forming from the constant bombardment and soon he would be assaulted by more feathers and spears if he didn't come up with something quickly.
Olympus Summit
"Sigrun!"
The cry of the Einherjar was muffled by the ringing in the Valkyrie's ears. How had she not lost her hearing or even die from that attack was either dumb luck or the Fates saying it was not her time yet. Either way that punch had knocked the wind out of her and all she could do was fall to the floor. Her impact against the floor was stopped by Heracles seizing her by the hair and holding her there.
"If this is all a Valkyrie has to offer then I am sorely disappointed. I was expecting more of a fight against the famous warrior maidens of Asgard." He tugged on Sigrun's hair erecting a cry of pain from her, "I had heard so many tales about how powerful the Valkyries were. I guess they are nothing more than pretty women dressed in costumes barely resembling armor."
"Let her go!"
The strongman turned his gaze to the Einherjar who was struggling to his feet, "Do you really wanna do this, Andreas? Why fight me? You've seen it with your own eyes. Neither of you can win. Why throw away your life for Gods who did nothing to save you? Did you not tell me you hoped to see your family again? I can give you that chance if you walk away right now. Don't you want to see your mother and sister again? Don't you want to live in peace?"
Sigrun stared at Andrew, would he really listen to Heracles, would he abandon her and let Olympus be destroyed? He had shown her the way here; he chose to come and help her; he couldn't back down now. If the Einherjar listened to Heracles, if he betrayed her she would find a back from Helheim and rip him to shreds.
"I do wish to see my them again." Andrew said at last, hot anger began to boil inside Sigrun at his answer, "But why must you destroy Olympus? Why must you kill the Gods the Greeks worship?"
"Why? Hahaha! Why!? Because we have been used by the Gods and monsters of the world as their pawns for power! We are nothing to them! Throughout the centuries mankind has been like a bowl of food for the supernatural world to pick out of, taking humans who have Sacred Gears that can be used to give them an advantage over their rivals! My master, no, the Hero Faction will change that! We will protect humanity and show that humans are just as capable of killing those who are evil!"
"And you'll prove that by killing a whole Pantheon of defenseless Gods? By killing your father?"
"Zeus is not my father! Do you think I'd want to be related to a God? A being who sits around all day letting problems happen?"
"No… but what you're doing is wrong. Killing the Greek Gods will not make you heroes. You will be viewed as villains!"
"We will be heroes to the humans! They are the victims of the supernatural world!"
"You hypocrite!" Andrew shouted, his rage rising at the stupidity the hero he idolized as a child spewed, "You told me the night before that Thor was planned to be used by the Church as a weapon against Devils! Humans are just as vile at the monsters you speak of destroying!"
Sigrun released a tired sigh when hearing Heracles told Andrew about Thor's past. It was only a matter of time before Thor's affiliation to the Church would be revealed. As she listened to the demi-god and Einherjar argue her eye caught sight of something lying nearby. Struggling to get a better look she realized it was Andrew's spear point, in arms reach, unnoticed by Heracles. Quickly checking to see if they were paying attention to her the Valkyrie slowly inched her hand towards the weapon.
"You call yourself Heroes yet you plan to harm innocent lives! Lives who want to live in peace!"
"Live in peace? You say such things yet your Allfather plans to join forces with other Gods to-"
"TO PROMPT PEACE, YOU BASTARD!" Andrew roared at the top of his lungs, eyes bulging in anger. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had read about the Twelve Labors Heracles performed, the heroic deeds he did to protect Greece, he was his idol, his hero. Yet all that stood before him was an idiot performing evil acts and saying they were heroic. This was not his hero, this was a villain who must be stopped no matter the cost!
He wanted to see his mother and sister so badly but he was not a human. He was an Einherjar, a warrior of Asgard! He had a duty to protect Olympus and his friends! Drawing his short sword he charged the demi-god, summoning all the courage he could muster. He wasn't sure if he could defeat the hero but he could try to stall Heracles long enough for help to arrive.
Heracles sighed in annoyance as he raised his free hand to face the warrior, this boy was such a fool. He was no match for him and he would prove it by beating Andrew with one hand. The former human drew closer and closer as soon as he was in range he drew his arm back and threw it at Andrew. To his surprise, the brunette managed to dodge his attack and swing, not at him, but Sigrun cutting her long hair thus freeing her from his grip. Before Heracles could even let go of the hair, the Valkyrie quickly spun around thrusting the broken weapon into the hero's unguarded thigh as flames consumed the spear tip earning a roar of pain from the hero as he dropped to a knee. The attack was followed by Andrew turning his blade upon him, stabbing it into Heracles' stomach, and maneuvering around to get the hero in a chokehold.
"Sigrun, kill Heracles! Kill us both if you have to!" The Einherjar shouted, struggling to keep hold of the demi-god.
"ARGH!"
The Hero desperately threw his fists out to stop the Valkyrie from doing anything but Sigrun stumbled out of arm's reach. Just as she was about to reach for the spear Andrew had gone and done what she was planning when she saw the spear. His sudden change of targets had allowed her to score a hit on the hulking man and now they had a chance to end him but could she go through it… could she kill a fellow comrade? She had said back in Asgard she would forgive him if he did something besides apologizing now here he was freeing her from Heracles' grasp and offering to sacrifice himself to win the battle and save Olympus. This noble act he was performing, this selfless act to save her, Olympus, and possibly all of Greece was worthy of her to forgive him.
The only problem, however, was how to deal with Heracles? Her sword was destroyed and both of Andrew's were lodged into the wounded hero and if she tried to obtain either one she would get pulverized by his fists if she wasn't fast enough. There was only one way to end the hero but it would suck all her stamina out of her. However, if it meant putting down this bastard pretending to be a hero and spreading the word about Thor she would do it. Steeling herself she raised her hands and from them, a magic circle flickered in and out of existence in front of her palms. Talented as she was in wielding a sword and empowering it with elemental magic, casting spells had always been a trouble for her and if she tried to do one it would either backfire or drain her of energy quickly.
Ignoring the shouts of Heracles, Sigrun focused on making the correct calculations and putting the right amount of magic into her spell. Then she saw the sky-blue magic seal stabilize in her palms. Doubling her efforts the seal grew bigger, flickered for a moment, then grew again until it was big enough to cover her whole body. She had to hurry, she could feel her stamina start to drain at the power output. Steadying herself she took aim and with a cry of defiance unleashed the spell upon the hero.
Sigrun refused to let up on casting her spell until her strength gave way and she collapsed to the floor, bile spat from her mouth as a tiny stream of blood trickled down her nose. She had depleted the last of her energy in that attack if it didn't work then nobody would be able to stop Heracles from putting out Olympus Flame. As the dust settled she saw the damage her spell had left; a massive trench was carved into the marble floor going all the way to where a statue of Ares once stood now disintegrated into nothing by the spell raw power and Heracles and Andrew were nowhere to be found.
Did…did I do? Did I kill them both?
She was surprised to hear someone coughing loudly through the still fading dust. She soon saw lying some feet away was the Einherjar -no- was Andrew. He was alive but wounded by the scratched and broken left arm he was clutching tightly. The poor Greek could barely stand as he slowly and painfully made his way over to Sigrun until at last, he collapsed beside her hissing in agony at the pain in his arm.
"Your…alive…"
"I had to release my hold and let Heracles throw me clear of the blast. I'm just glad all I got was a broken arm."
"Me too. I was afraid I had killed you as well."
"Well, luckily you didn't."
"Where is Heracles...?"
"I…I don't know...I...I think he's gone..."
"Gone as in dead or gone in as escaped?"
"I hope he is dead. That spell enveloped him completely. There's no way he could survive that attack. If he's dead, that will turn the tide in our favor." The Einherjar collapsed to the floor, his stamina drained by the fight with the hero he previously looked up to.
Sigrun stared at Andrew with a hint of pride. She had never met an Einherjar as brave as him and may never again. He was willing to throw his life away to ensure the survival of Olympus. He could use the rest but not her, she had to make sure no more enemies came to the summit to destroy the Flame. Their fight may have been won but the battle was still going on.
Conference all
None of the Gods spoke when hearing the truth about Eris. All this time they thought she was Hera's daughter instead she was a mix-breed between the King of Olympus and a Cadre Fallen Angel. They exchanged silent looks with one another unsure how to reply to Zeus.
At last, Persephone spoke up, "Why did you do it? What made you sleep with her? Did she seduce you or was your lust for pleasure unquenchable in your youth?"
"It was not out of lust or seduction. It was love. I loved her and our daughter Eris. I kept it a secret so she would not be shamed by you all. I feared you would hate her, scorn her, look down upon her for having Fallen Angel blood. I chose to keep it a secret and with Hera's help seal her Fallen Angel powers. Yet if she now knows the secret she must have found a way to break the seal and use her Fallen Angel powers."
"And you were ok with it?" The Goddess of Spring glared at Hera.
"Do not falter my fellow heroes! Keep fighting! Fight for Zeus! Fight for Greece!"
The Gods snapped their heads towards Hector's cry. They had been so focused on Zeus' story they had forgotten about the battle raging outside the conference room. Hector, Achilles, Jason, and the Argonauts were still fighting waves of monsters but even they could tell they were starting to waver under the constant onslaught from the enemy. When their numbers started to dwindle the Alchemist had cast a teleportation seal to bring reinforcements, out marched the large one-eyed black humanoid monsters but no Greek monsters came to aid them, their only path into the kingdom was the seal set up in the plaza. Yet even with reinforcements, they still could not break the line the defenders were putting up after sending wave after wave at the Heros they were finally starting to waver, and soon they could kill them all and await for Heracles to extinguish Olympus Flame.
"We can't keep this up, Hector!" Jason shouted after running his spear through a monster's head.
"We must! Someone, anyone, must find a way to destroy Eris' staff!"
"If any of us break rank the phalanx will fall!" Achilles said.
"It's useless!" The Alchemist cackled, his face full of insane joy at seeing the heroes losing, "You will all die! The Fire of Olympus will cease to exist! Olympus will fall and-"
His boastful ranting was stopped as a magic bullet the size of his head and the length of his arm zipped past him, hitting the staff knocking it out of the Alchemist's hand, and even damaging it. All eyes turned to who had knocked the staff out of the hero's hand and a roar of triumph erupted from the heroes defending the Gods. Floating at the end of the hallway with a magic seal in each hand was Odin's bodyguard.
Before any of the Gods could ready themselves for their counterattack, The Alchemist withdrew a large vial full of red liquid which he drained quickly. To Zeus' surprise, the magic he sensed in John started growing, his power had been around High-class after those two snakes bit him. Now it reached Ultimate-class level if he wasn't mistaken the human's power was reaching almost to Super Devil-class. It wasn't just his magical prowess but his physical appearance too. He was transforming, growing eight feet in height and his hands started forming into claws while feathers started growing out of his skin followed by two giant eagle wings on his back. When the transformation was complete, he raised his arms and the barrier stabilized, crushing the Gods' hope to be free.
"What happened to him!?" Demeter shrieked.
"It looks like that vial he drank has transformed him into some kind of monster with powers to keep the barrier from falling. Remember those snakes that bite him? They boosted his power and that vial boosted his power more." Said the Goddess of Order, Eunomia.
What was that red liquid, Eunomia felt his power reach Satan-class? Could… could it have been the blood of a Satan? Such a thing was impossible, they were the strongest Devils and, as the silver-haired Valkyrie told them, they didn't want to cause trouble with other Factions while the ceasefire between the Angels and Fallen Angels was still ongoing. If that was to be believed then how did they obtain one of the four Satan's blood?
The Alchemist turned his attention to the Valkyrie, his eyes dilating in fury that she had managed to slip past the traps he set in the hallway and knock the staff out of his hand, "You… I spent months preparing for this! I, The Alchemist, was chosen to be the one to keep the Gods trapped and you have forced me to restore to my backup plan! I will rip off your head and show it to your precious God of Thunder!"
Rossweisse did not answer the hawk-like hero, the wheels in her head turning to formulate a plan of how to defeat this monster. She was certain the barrier would fall once the staff was damaged and she was correct but was unprepared for the Alchemist backup plan of drinking that vial and turning into this monster. Nevertheless, she had to figure out a plan to turn the tide in their favor, it was up to her to free the Gods and save the Heros protecting them. Suddenly before either could attack, a giant beam of pure magic was seen at the summit of Olympus forcing all who were fighting around Olympus to look up in confusion at what had just happened up there. The silver-haired beauty smiled, only she understood what that massive spell was and who had cast it. The Flame of Olympus was saved, the Gods would not lose their power.
Aqua-colored eyes scanned the battlefield, she needed to quickly understand the situation. The Alchemist stood before her ready to fight, a horde of monsters coming from a teleportation seal was battering down the defender meaning that had to be stopped and the Gods were still trapped in a barrier. The Alchemist was the connection to the barrier and portal, she takes him out and the barrier goes down thus allowing the Gods to join the battle and destroy the portal.
Squaring her shoulders the silver-haired warrior maiden powered up her magic reserves and prepared herself for the battle.
And that ends that chapter. Our favorite Valkyrie is about to square off against the OC Hero The Alchemist and our boy Thor is in a tight situation. How is he gonna beat Eris? Chapter 20 will answer those questions.
On a side note, the idea of Eris being a Goddess-Fallen Angel hybrid is because of the many pictures I have seen of her having feathered wings. It was the inspiration for doing that and I would like to apologize if Heracles' fight was too quick and anti-climatic. I tried to make him cocky and overestimate Sigrun and Andrew thus leading to his defeat. Again I apologize for making it too short.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter if so remember to leave your feedback. :D
