Darkworld Clan: Ka'an vs Goldd
I walked from that chamber with a deep charred hole where Brron was standing, and the roof missing. I made my way down a tunnel and almost walked into the pitch dark of another chamber.
"Ka'an!" Shelly's voice rang out suddenly. "Stop!"
I held my ground just at the threshold of the room.
"Shelly!? What's goin on!?"
My reply was a muffled sound as if someone was screaming into a gag.
"Shelly!?" I shouted into the darkness before me, though I didn't move.
My duel disk glowed and a rainbow shot out and went out into the dark until it stopped somewhere unseen. The rainbow seemed to lay down like a path to walk on and cross this dark expanse. So I took a tentative step out and found the rainbow to be sturdy underfoot. I walked straight out onto the new path, the muffled cry ahead urging me forward a little faster. Until I reached the end of the rainbow and saw a little bit of rock and dirt before me, so I stepped off the rainbow, it disappeared behind me and the rainbow shot back into my deck. I looked around for any detail.
"Shelly!?" I called out.
"Human." A deep masculine voice replied. "Why have you come here in search of this other human?" It asked.
"She is my girlfriend and I will not let you do to her as you please!" I stated.
"Really? So what if I drop her right now? How will you attempt to save what you cannot see?" It said as some muffled screams sounded out from somewhere beside me, though they weren't falling, as of yet.
"I will defeat you and reclaim her for myself!" I cemented my resolve.
"Oh? So you plan to duel me for her?" It asked.
"If I must, but I could just call down unimaginable power instead and beat the ever-living shit out of you!!" I stated.
"Hah! Enough banter! No human has ever beaten me in a duel! I'm even older than Dark Magician Girl, the so-called ruler of this realm." It stated.
"And just how old are you?" I asked.
"Six thousand millennia." It stated.
"Six... thousand..!? But that's impossible!!" I was actually taken aback.
"Now like I said, enough banter. Let's duel." It said.
I steeled my nerves and squared my shoulders, readying my duel disk.
"Duel!" We said together.
"I'll start! I draw! I summon Mirage Dragon in attack mode!" I said.
A dragon with gold armor and a sickle weapon for a tail, formed on my field.
"Now I activate Shard of Greed, when this card has two or more greed counters on it, I can send this card to the graveyard, then draw two more cards. Then I set two cards facedown and end my turn." I finished
"I draw. I set one monster and two cards facedown. That ends my turn human." The voice finished quickly.
I heard three cards forming. But still could see nothing.
"I draw! My Shard gains a Greed counter. Battle! Now your trap cards are locked out of this duel! Mirage Dragon attack his facedown monster!" I commanded.
Mirage flew forward and sliced a card in half, a little imp-like monster in red armor formed and then burst into a million pieces.
"That was my Scarr, Scout of Dark World. When it is destroyed by battle, I gain one level four or lower monster from my deck to my hand." The voice explained. "I choose my Brron, Mad King of Dark World."
"Fine, but during the battle phase I can special summon Juragedo from my hand in attack mode!"
A strange blue and grey lizardy fiend formed on my field. My life points shot up by 1000. 9000lp
"I gain 1000lp as a result, and now Juregado attacks you directly! Go!" I ordered.
Juregado flew forward and slashed my unknown opponent, dealing it 1700 in damage. 6300lp
"Gr!!" It grunted in the dark.
"That ends my turn." I finished.
"I draw. I summon Brron in attack mode." The voice started.
An insane-looking monster with mad hair, skinny as a toothpick and wrapped up in chains formed on his field.
"Hey! That's the monster that was torturing Akiza!" I noted.
"So it is." The voice sounded amused.
I smirked. "I sent him to the monster graveyard with my Prime Material Dragon for his transgressions. He won't be bothering anyone else ever again!" I explained.
A growl floated across the dark expanse, "you will regret telling me that human! Now I will show you no mercy! But for now, I end my turn." The voice finished.
"I draw! My Shard gains its second greed counter, now I send Shard of Greed to the graveyard to draw two more cards. Then I'll summon Engraver of the Mark in attack mode!" I said.
A man with dual rapiers formed on my field.
"I'll set one card facedown, then use Engravers' ability to target your Brron for destruction during your end phase," I explained.
A Z formed on his Brrons forehead.
"I end my turn." I finished
"I draw, then since Brron is useless to me, I tribute Brron to summon Sillva, Warlord of Dark World in attack mode!" The voice stated.
A tall dark fiend in silver armor and cape formed on its field.
"Next I activate the trap Forces of Darkness! I'm allowed to search two Dark World monsters in my grave to add back to my hand. And I chose Brron and Scar!" The voice explained.
"I activate my trap card, Bad Aim! Since you used a card effect, I'm allowed to target and destroy one of your cards, such as Sillva!" I countered.
His card glowed and a beam of energy shot out towards his Sillva.
"I activate Dark Sacrifice! This negates your trap and then I can send one level three dark monster from my deck to the grave!" The voice countered.
A small monster formed between Sillva and the beam, intercepting the effect, saving Sillva.
"Tch! Fine! I activate Engravers' ability to mark Sillva for destruction during my end phase!" I said.
"Very well. Battle! Sillva attack his Juregado!" The voice commanded.
"I activate Juregados' ability, sending himself to the graveyard, I can give another monster I control 1000 extra attack points until the end of my turn! I choose Engraver!" I explained.
Juregado vanished and Engraver glowed with renewed power.
"I see, no matter. I end my turn." The voice finished with a giant growl.
"I draw! I summon Cyber Valley in attack mode." I started.
A metallic lizard formed on my field.
"Then I banish Valley and my Mirage to draw two new cards."
The lizard wrapped around my dragon and both vanished.
"Next I'll activate Magical Mallet, returning four cards to my deck, reshuffling, and drawing four new cards. Then I'll set one card facedown. Battle! Engraver attack his Sillva!" I commanded.
Engraver dual slashed Sillva with the rapiers, dealing it 500 in damage. 5800lp
"I end my turn." I finished.
"I draw, now I set one monster and one card facedown. That ends my turn. The voice finished.
"I draw. Battle! Engraver attack his facedown monster!" I commanded.
Engraver slashed the card to pieces and the same red imp formed and burst to pieces.
"When Scarr is destroyed by battle, I can add one level four or lower monster from my deck to my hand. I choose Zure, Knight of Dark World" The voice explained.
"Fine. I set one card facedown and end my turn." I finished.
"I draw. I set one monster in defense mode then set one card facedown and end my turn." The voice finished.
"I draw. Battle! Engraver attack his facedown monster!" I commanded.
"Reveal Renge, Gatekeeper of Dark World and his 2100 defense points!" The voice said.
Engraver slashed the card, but a larger imp-like monster with thick armor intercepted the attack. The backlash sent me 300 in damage. 8700lp
"I end my turn." I finished.
"I draw. Hah! I tribute Renge to summon myself, Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World in attack mode!" He said.
A large fiend wearing gold armor and wings formed on his field.
"So that's what you look like," I noted.
"Wha..? Grr!" Goldd growled, he apparently got so caught up in the moment, he forgot I hadn't seen him yet. "Fine human, yes, that is what I look like. Behold!"
The room suddenly lit with torches all around, Goldd became visible, but so did Shelly, which Goldd had dangled her on chains attached to his wrist, above a precarious drop to an unknown depth. She had a gag around her mouth which explained why she couldn't talk anymore and her clothes were ruined. I was standing on a single piece of ground surrounded by nothing. Rainbow had made sure I had reached it.
"Thank you little buddy." I mentally noted while looking at my deck.
A faint purple and rainbow face appeared and winked at me before disappearing again.
"If you wish to free this woman, you must first defeat me in this duel. It is the only way to break these chains!" Goldd explained, a faint hint of mischievousness in his voice.
"Well then, let's say we get back to this duel!" I recommended.
"Fine. Now battle! Goldd attack his Engraver!" Goldd commanded.
The gold fiend lunged forward for my monster.
"I activate a trap, Pinpoint Guard! Now I can special summon a monster of level four of lower from my graveyard, and I choose my Juregado!" I countered.
A fist shot out of the ground and blocked the attack, then a light shone and the fiendish lizard formed on my field again.
"So what!? That doesn't change my target at all! Attack!" Goldd stated.
"Now I sacrifice Juregado to give Engraver 1000 attack points until the end of my turn!"
"Grr! Halt your attack!! He commanded. I end my tur.." Goldd began.
"Not so fast, during the end of the battle phase, I activate my facedown, Arrivalrivals! Now I can normal summon a new monster, and I think I'll go for Cosmic Compass in attack mode. When it is summoned, I can special summon Compass tokens on my field equal to how many monsters you control, and that means I now have three monsters!" I explained.
A small mechanical monster with odd functions formed on my field, then a smaller monster with fewer features formed beside it.
"I activate my trap, Hidden Soldier! Since you've summoned a monster I can special summon my own level four or lower dark monster, Say hello again to Brron in attack mode!" Goldd countered.
"I activate Engravers ability, now Goldd is marked for destruction next turn!" I explained.
"That ends my turn." Goldd finished.
"I draw. I activate the continuous spell, Dragonoid Generator, by paying 1000 life points, I can generate a Dragonoid token, then during the end phase, you get one as well, and I can generate two tokens per turn. I get two tokens, then I sacrifice them to summon The Creator in attack mode!" I explained. -1000 7700lp
Two metallic dragon eggs formed on my field then they vanished for a large red armored monster with thunder as his harold.
"Now battle! Engraver attack his Goldd monster! And Creator attack his Brron!" I commanded.
Both monsters clashed, Goldd arched his back as if in pain and then shattered into millions of pieces, then Brron was electrocuted and exploded, dealing him 1000 in damages. 4800lp
"Gaah!" Goldd yelped as the attacks landed.
"Felt that one did you? Lastly, I turn Cosmic Compass to defense mode. That ends my turn. Now you gain two tokens." I finished.
"I draw. I turn the two tokens you graciously gave me to defense mode. Then I summon Zure, Knight of Dark World in attack mode." Goldd started.
A fiend in what appeared to be almost traditional armor formed with a huge broadsword, sticking it in the nonexistent ground then stood behind his sword.
"Now battle! Zure attack his Engraver for mutual destruction!" Goldd commanded.
Both monsters clashed swords, then each went for different killing blows and they both fell into the darkness below, disappearing from the field.
"Tch!" I grunted.
"Now I activate Dark World Lightning, I target your left-facedown card and destroy it, then I discard one card."
Lightning shot down and blasted the card off the field.
"The card I discarded was Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World. When he is discarded, I can destroy one monster on your field, so say goodbye to the Creator!" Goldd explained.
A guerilla-shaped imp jumped out of nowhere and clasped onto my monster and dragged it down to oblivion.
"Damn!" I stated.
"I end my turn." Goldd finished.
"I draw. I summon Vylon Prism in attack mode." I started.
A crystalline monster with white armor flew into my field.
"Now battle! Vylon attack one of his tokens!" I commanded.
The crystal monster flew forward and punched the token, destroying it.
"That ends my turn." I finished.
"I draw. I tribute the remaining token to set a monster in defense mode. Then I end my turn." Goldd finished.
"I draw. I set one card facedown and end my turn." I finished, I couldn't risk his monster being too strong for my attack.
"I draw. Oh so boring human, I expected better from the champion of the human race." Goldd gloated.
"I'm no champion Goldd, I'm just a Captain." I stated.
"Yes well, let's see what happens next. I set one monster in defense mode and end my turn." Goldd finished.
"I draw. I activate my generator to gain two more tokens and then I tribute them off for Pyrotech-Mech Shiryu in attack mode!" I started.
A mechanical monster covered in flames formed on my field.
"Since it was going too slow for you, how about I pick up the pace! Shiryu can deal piercing damage!" I explained.
"What!?" Goldd exclaimed.
"Battle! Shiryu attack his first facedown monster!" I commanded.
Flames engulfed his monster and destroyed it, dealing Goldd 500 in damage. 4300lp
"Ah!" Goldd reeled a bit.
"Now Vylon attack his remaining facedown monster!" I commanded.
The crystal flew over and punched the card, destroying it.
"That ends my turn! Now you gain two more tokens." I finished.
"I draw. I tribute a token to summon Lucent, Netherlord of Dark World in attack mode!" Goldd started.
A monster in grey armor with lightning dancing around it formed on the field.
"I activate my counter trap, Solemn Judgement! By paying half my life points, I can negate that summoning and destroy your monster!" I countered.
"I activate my counter trap card, Dark Bribe! Now I can negate your trap, destroying it, then you get to draw a new card!" Goldd countered.
"Now I will finish this with my final facedown card, the counter trap United Front! Since I have two monsters of the same level, namely my two Compasses, I can negate your trap and destroy it!" I countered again.
A man in long white saints robes formed on my field, holding up his hand at the monster, then a little goblin appeared and tried to put a pouch of coins in the saint's hand, however, both compass monsters flew forward and crashed into the goblin knocking it back. The saint's eyes flared with power and authority denying the monster access to the field, destroying it. -3850 3850lp
"No!" Goldd exclaimed. "Grr! Fine! I turn the last token to defense mode and end my turn!" Goldd finished.
"I draw!" I started, then looked at my hand.
The room became cold, then an air of energy began to fill the void all around us. Goldd had shifted his stance and drifted back away from me. Shelly was in shock at what she had witnessed so far, but this was something else entirely. I held up the card in my hand and glared at Goldd, my eyes had taken on a faint red glow. High above us outside, a storm formed out of nowhere. The humans and monsters all noticed the building of pitch-black clouds, over a whole sector of the monster world, thick with energy, the monsters could feel and lightning dancing from one end to the other that the humans could see. Some feared that the goo or darkness had invaded the realm, but back down underground, an entirely different problem had formed.
"Goldd, this is the end! I tribute Vylon, Cosmic Compass, and my Compass token, to summon a monster you might know..and fear!" I stated.
"Three sacrifices!? You usually use Barbaros, but this feels different. This feels ancient!" Goldd noted, a hint of fear creeping in.
"Yes, ancient, powerful," my eyes were fixed on Goldds', "and deadly," I stated coldly.
Goldd visibly recoiled, this wasn't something he had ever experienced before, terror in the face of a human, but this human wasn't bluffing. I meant to kill him. Wipe him from existence, forever.
"Now I summon the most powerful monster in my entire deck! The one, the only, Obelisk the Tormentor!" I said.
A light shot straight up out of the cavern, blasting the roof clean off. The light went straight into the clouds above, then an even more powerful light shone down, crashing through the bedrock and decimating the entire area around us, clearing everything away.
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!" Goldd reeled back from the sheer force of the presence coming down. "No! Impossible! How did you get that card!?" Goldd was pressed against what remained of the back wall, trying desperately to escape.
"You'll never get to learn that answer," I stated coldly. "Now battle! First Shiryu will clear your field of the last token and deal you piercing damage! Attack!!" I commanded.
Flames engulfed the token and it exploded, dealing him 2600 in damage. 1700lp
"Aaaahh!" Goldd was pinned against the wall, as it cracked under the pressure.
Shelly dangled from the chain, visibly not liking what she saw happening, struggling to remove her gag, wanting to say something, but it was too late.
"And that was your last line of defense! Now Obelisk the Tormentor! Attack with Fist of Fury!!" I commanded, my eyes glowing red with pure hatred.
Obelisk reared back his fist, and brought it down onto Goldds defenseless form, crushing and crashing him through the wall, dealing 4000 in damage and the final blow, ending this duel! 0lp
"NOOOOOoooooo…..," were the last sounds it uttered.
The chains on Shelly snapped in the process and she was sent tumbling down into the abyss with muffled screams. My duel disk glowed a rainbow hue and a line of energy shot out and wrapped around Shelly's middle, halting her descent. The line slowly reeled back in, pulling Shelly up to safety. I grabbed her and hugged her for all I was worth. Then I moved to untie her and she got up quickly and slapped me across the face and straight to the ground.
Ripping her gag off, she screamed at me. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YA' THINKIN'!!?" Making the question plain and clear. "I WAS ALMOST KILLED OUT THERE WHEN YA' ATTACKED HIM!! DIDN'T CHA' THINK ABOUT WHAT CHA' WERE DOIN'!!?" She stated flatly with her question.
I was dumbstruck, I had no words, I wasn't thinking, I wasn't feeling anything but sheer rage at what Goldd and the rest of these monsters had done to her and Akiza.
"What..I..but..he..they.." I couldn't form a sentence.
Dark Magician and some of the dragon clans showed up after that moment, drawn in by the high output of energy and the very visible explosion from the attack. Shelly asked to be carried back by Dark Magician. I rode on the back of a long, slender red dragon. My mind was filled with questions and some regret about what had just happened. What I had just done.
