Monster World: Ka'an vs Beast-Warrior

Somewhere deep in the woods of the monster world. I had traveled for nearly three days, wandering the wilderness aimlessly. Coming apon a stone outcropping near the base of one of the many mountains of this world. It was here I heard screaming for the first time, someone was in pain, but there was also laughter. My stomach went to my feet, someone was enjoying someone else's pain. That I cannot allow or turn my back to. I move around the rocks carefully and quietly as possible. Just about 100yrds from my position was a medium-sized creature beating a tied-up and defenseless elf with a whip. Her cloth was tattered and torn, her hair was messy, and she had visible cuts and bruises even from here. I made my way closer and closer, and I tried my best to remain unseen, and unheard. I got to about 20 yards from the situation when I kicked some rocks, sending them clattering across the ground, alerting the monster to my presence.

"Who goes there!?" It bellowed, then reached down and clasped a huge hand around her throat, lifting her off the ground, choking her. "I'll kill this wince then kill you too!" It threatened.

"Well, no way to hide it now," I said to myself, standing. "Here creature! Here I am!" I stated, standing where it could see.

"What're you? A human!? I ain't eat human before. Come closer or I'll wring her neck!" It threatened.

I moved to about 10yrds of the monster, then it tossed her down and she coughed, gasping for air.

"You struggle, I'll kill ya'!" It said.

That was the end of my rope. "Struggle this!" I said as I activated my duel disk, setting my deck in place.

It turned to lunge at the elf again, but it didn't get the chance. I drew cards and slammed them onto my holo disk field.

"I summon Bull Blader then activate Double Summons to tribute summon my Prime Material Dragon!!" I said as a large golden dragon with six wings appeared with a mighty roar, beating its wings in quick succession, getting between the elf and the monster. "You want the elf, you go through me!" I stated.

"No human stands between me and my prey! Prepare to die!" It roared.

The dragon flashed and disappeared back into my deck.

"Duel!!" We said together.

"I'll go first! I draw!" I said. "I summon Mathematician in attack mode!"

A small goblin in a graduation gown and cap appeared on my field.

"His ability allows me to send one level four or below monster from my deck to my graveyard. I choose Electromagnetic Turtle. Next, I activate the spell, Shard of Greed, in two turns I'm allowed to draw two new cards. That ends my turn." I finished

The monster was furious at my interference with his 'fun time', a time I fully intend to not let him have ever again!

"I draw now human! Ah! I activate my Shard of Greed too. Next, I summon Chiron the Mage in attack mode!" It said.

A centaur wearing armor and wielding a sorcerer's staff appeared on its field.

"Now battle! Chiron attack weak math goblin!"

Chiron galloped forward and charged the staff, then fired it at Mathematician dealing me 300 in damage. 7700lp

"When Mathematician is destroyed in battle, I'm allowed to draw one card." I countered.

"Fine! Stupid human. I end turn." It finished.

It wasn't happy, okay, now let's see how happy I can get it. "I draw! I summon Juregado and then I use the effect of my Kagetokage to special summon itself from my hand to the field, and both are in attack mode!" I said.

A purple fiend with red claws appeared on my field, then its shadow slithered across the field and a lizard's form appeared as well.

"Next I set two cards facedown and end my turn." I finished.

It's confused, I can see it in its eyes. I keep a straight face to hide my intentions.

"Why you summon more weak monsters human? I break these easy. I draw!" It said. I summon Caninetaur in attack mode!"

A centauri-like canine wearing armor, carrying a sword and shield appeared on its field.

"Now battle! Chiron attack ugly purple lizard!" It commanded.

Chiron galloped forward, charging the magic in its staff, then releasing it at Juragedo. Suddenly the fiend vanished from the field before the attack landed.

"Where did ugly lizard go!?" It asked.

"I activated its ability to leave my field during the battle phase," I explained.

"Stupid human, you save one, but now I attack other thing, Canine attack little weak shadow thingy!" It commanded.

"I guess you're not as smart as you claim to be. When my Juregado left, it left something behind." I said.

"What?" It asked.

"1000 attack points for my Kagetokage actually," I explained. "Now my Shadow is stronger than your Canine!" I countered.

"Not so fast human, Canine lets me send one beast-warrior from deck to grave, then Canine gains 100 attack for each level of monster sent, and I send level seven Mystical Knight of Jackal." It countered. "Now my monster has 100 attack over your monster!" It explained.

Canine charged forward and plunged its blade deep through the Shadow's surface destroying it, dealing me 100 in damage. 7600lp

"Now I set two cards facedown and end turn." It finished.

"During your end phase, I activate the trap, Heavy Storm Duster! Now I destroy your Shard and your left most facedown card!" I countered. "Now you won't get any extra cards during your next turn." I said.

"Grrrrr!! Stupid human! I make you pay for that!" It bellowed.

Good, get angry, lose your temper and throw this match big guy. "Now it's my turn! I draw!" I said. "Now I activate Shard to draw two more times. Next, I summon Cyber Valley in attack mode!"

A metallic lizard formed on my field with red orbs along its sides.

"Another weak monster!? Hahaha! You bad at game! I crush you easy!" It laughed heartily.

Keep laughing creep, "now I set two cards facedown and end my turn." I finished.

"My turn, I draw!" It said. "Now I use Chiron ability, discard spell card to destroy spell or trap card you control. That one! Destroy it !" It said pointing to my leftmost card. "Now battle! Chiron attack metal lizard!" It commanded.

Chiron galloped at Valley, charging its staff full of magical energies.

"I activate Valley's ability! Whenever it's targeted for an attack, I can banish it and end the battle phase of this turn, then I get to draw a new card." I countered.

Chiron's attack vanished into thin air.

"Bah! Stupid human, I get you soon! I set one card facedown then end turn." It finished.

Almost there, I just need one more card. "I draw then! Next, I activate Jar of Avarice on my field! I return five cards from my graveyard to my deck, reshuffle, then draw one new card. Next, I summon Cosmic Compass in attack mode, and when it's summoned, I gain one Compass token for each monster you have out on the field. So that means I get two!" I said.

A machine with four different direction indicators formed on my field, then two miniature compasses appeared next to it.

"I activate trap, Secret Barrel! Now you take 200 damage for each card you have! That's a lot!" It countered.

"Not if I have anything to say about it!" I countered. "I activate United Front! Your trap is negated and destroyed!" I countered.

The field opened and turrets flipped up and aimed at me, then a charge of power went out and the turrets all crackled with electricity and deactivated.

"This counter trap can only be used if I have two or more monsters of equal levels on my field, and I do. So now your trap goes bye-bye!" I explained.

"Grah!! Stupid human! Stupid human!! I beat you! I crush you to mush and cook you! I eat you for supper!" It shouted

"Uh-huh," I said, almost there big guy, just a little further. "I end my turn." I finished.

The small female elf was watching everything, how it kept getting madder at me. How I was almost playing with it. She was scared I'd lose, but she was intrigued by the duel and couldn't look away.

"I draw! I summon Rampaging Rhynos in attack mode!" It said.

A tan humanoid-like creature with a rhinoceros face and feet wearing blue armor and a battle ax appeared on its field.

"Now battle! Rhynos gains 500 attack when it is in front of its enemy! Attack that token!" It commanded.

Rhynos charged forward and raised its ax to bring down on the compass token, then an electromagnetic shield formed over my field, protecting every monster from destruction.

"What!?" It shouted.

"I activated Electromagnetic Turtle from my graveyard! By banishing it, a shield forms over my field. Now it protects me and my monsters from your attacks and ends the battle phase!" I countered.

"Grah!!" It roared. "You're dead human! I'm going to kill you!" It threatened. It threw down its duel cards and charged straight at me.

"Mistake," I said as I picked up the top card of my deck.

Then I raised a card over my head, and the world seemed to slow down around us. Its charge was halted and it seemed to sense just what was awaiting it.

"What that!? How you so powerful!?" It almost was in full terror mode now.

"I sacrifice all three of my Compass monsters!" I began. "That allows me to summon the powerful, the mighty, Obelisk the Tormentor in attack mode!" I said then slammed the card onto my duel disk with a torrent of energy going out in every direction.

It stumbled back to where its duel cards lay and the elf just hung on to the tree and rope it was attached to for dear life. The energy from the event throwing everything away from me. Then Obelisk appeared, seeming to just rise from the ground beneath our feet, he stood behind me ready for battle.

"Now I don't know about you, but I'm just about ready to end this duel!" I stated.

It just stared at my monster, a god it had only ever heard of in legends. "O..o..obelisk! How human!? How you have such beast!?" It asked.

"You'll never find out creature, and I'm not in the telling mood right now. Battle! Obelisk attack his Caninetaur with fist of fate!" I commanded.

Obelisk reared back his fist, charging it with power from deep inside, then slammed it down on its Canine destroying it, dealing it 2500 in damage. 5500lp

It was pressing its back against a rock, nowhere to run or hide, it was completely at my mercy.

"I activate Magical Mallet, returning three cards to my deck, reshuffle, and draw three cards. Next, I activate Pot of Duality, I get to check out the top three cards of my deck, keeping one, then reshuffle the rest back into the deck. Lastly, I set three cards facedown to end my turn." I finished. "Now let's see you survive the might of this god card!"

"Please human...I won't cause any more trouble for you! Just let me go!!" It begged.

"No," I said coldly. "Either draw a card and continue or I'll consider your turn as a pass. Then I'll continue my onslaught!" I said.

It cautiously moved a hand to its deck and pulled a card. "I draw…" Looking at it, it placed it facedown in defense mode, then turned the others to defense as well. "I end my turn." It said.

"My turn. I draw! I summon Pandora's Jewelry Box in attack mode!" I said.

A white chest with gold trim appeared on my field.

"Now battle! Obelisk attack his Rhynos!" I commanded.

Obelisk raised its arm into the air, charging for another attack.

It was flinching at the enormous amount of energy being sent its way. It was facing certain death and I wouldn't let it escape. Then Obelisk's hand came crashing down on top of its monster.

"Now Pandora, attack Chiron!" I commanded.

It seemed to regain some notion of resistance and reached for its duel disk. "I use trap, Magic Cylinder! Sends all your monsters' attack right back to you." It countered.

"Since you activated a card effect, I'm allowed to activate one too! Bad Aim! I may lose some life points, but you still lose Chiron!"

Pandora went forward and lashed out at it, but two cylindrical items appeared, blocking and absorbing the attack, then firing back at me, dealing 1500 in damage. 6100lp

"I end my turn." I finished.

It was scared beyond belief, timidly reaching for its cards. "I..I..draw" Then it looked at its cards whining, "..please human, let me live. I won't be bad anymore.. I'll even help whoever I come across next. I'll pledge.." It started in.

"Shut up and duel monster! You don't deserve to live past today! You were beating this elf to within an inch of her life, and I doubt she was the first! So now, for her and all that you have killed in the past, I'm going to end you!" I stated.

It just looked at me for a moment, then finally set a card on its disk. "I..I.." it didn't want to say it, it was even making the ground at its feet wet.

I didn't wait, "I draw two cards due to Pandora's ability! This is the end! Now I summon Thunder King Rai-Oh in attack mode!" I said.

A blue monster made of conductive materials and two electronic rings at its sides.

"Now battle! And now I'm allowed to special summon my Juregado in attack mode during the battle phase!" I continued.

The purple lizard fiend reappeared on my field, but this time was different.

"When he is special summoned this way, I gain 1000 life points for good measure," I explained. 7100lp

It just went pale white, losing all color even across its darker body parts. The elf was staring in disbelief at the spectacle she was witnessing. Her captor and torturer was about to be gone, and she would be freed, but she sensed something else, something from this human about to do this deed, sadness.

"Pandora will attack your facedown monster!" I commanded.

Pandora went forward and slammed into the monster, destroying it.

"Then Rai-Oh will attack you directly, but he's going to get a power boost from Juregado for good measure. So I send Juregado to the graveyard to give Rai-Oh 1000 more attack points for a whopping 2900 direct damage!"

Rai-Oh charged up with electrical power, then unleashed it all, dealing it 2900 in damage. 2600lp

"Now Obelisk will attack you directly and end this duel and remove this pest from existence!" I commanded.

Obelisk raised his arm one final time, building power in his hand, then brought it down onto its head, dealing it 4000 in damage. 0lp

A crater was left behind where it was last standing, the monster was completely destroyed, and the elf just looked on with shock, awe, amazement, and a little bit of terror had crept into her during the last few moments. She hadn't spoken a word as I walked up and began to remove her restraints from her wrists and ankles. It was then I noticed she had wings. One was badly damaged but she seemed too in shock to register the pain just now. She did however flinch at my touch, bringing her back to the moment. She gasped, backing away from me a short distance.

"Hey, it's okay, I won't hurt you, and it won't harm you anymore," I stated quietly.

I finished removing the restraints and ropes off her. She scooted back a bit further from me and I didn't move towards her after that. I started to move around, checking for anything that could be useful to help her or that I could use while I'm out here. She watched me intently, following my movements, and anything I touched. As I picked up a small blue chest that had some mystical symbols on it. She saw this and almost spoke up involuntarily, but quickly gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth. This noise and motion caught my attention and I turned to her with a questioning look.

"Is this yours?" I asked.

It took a moment, I was almost going to ignore her again when she finally nodded her head. So I moved closer to her carefully, staying just about arm's length away, so she could take the box from me without having to argue about it. She took it, opening the top, looking inside for something.

"No." She said quietly.

"Missing something?" I asked, still a little distance away from her.

She looked at me, then slumped her shoulders, "I had a healing gemstone in here and now it's gone. It must have taken it before...you destroyed it." She said hesitantly.

"Oh, is that all. I can do that for you. Heal you I mean." I said.

She looked at me questioningly, "how?"

"The golden dragon I used to defend you from it attacking you before the duel. He has healing properties. It's really effective here in this world." I explained. A little while later, I was stoking the fire a bit to keep the area warmed up, as my dragon was hovering over the elf, healing her wounds, her wing slowly going back to how it is supposed to look.

"Why have you done this human? Most other monsters and creatures would have just left me to my fate." She explained.

It took me a few moments before I could answer the question. "I.. witnessed a couple of human females that had been tortured and almost killed by some fiends, and I went in to rescue them." I stammered a bit.

"Did they not survive?" She asked, genuine concern in her voice.

"No. No, they survived, I was able to rescue them but, I nearly lost myself during that duel." I explained. "I..just lost control. All I could see was the death of the fiends and their kind. So the few I came across, I decimated completely." I said as I looked sideways at the crater I had just made moments ago. "As you just saw," I noted.

She also looked at the crater, then remembered the feelings she sensed during the end of the duel.

"You, weren't happy about how this duel played out, were you?" She asked as much as pointed out.

I gritted my teeth a bit, then shook my head. "No, no I wasn't."

My dragon gave a mild roar and motioned down to her wing. She timidly flexed it a bit, before giving it a strong flap, showing that it was fully healed. Then she looked at me with an odd look.

"There is a tradition among this realm, 'when someone has done you the service of saving your life, you are indebted to them for this deed." She explained.

"And what does that mean exactly?" I asked.

"It means that I, Maiden of the Moonlight, hereby pledge my loyalty and servitude to you, until such a time as the deed has been repaid." She said in a semi-grandiose fashion.

"Uh, come again? You do what now?" I queried her.

"I will from now, till such a time as I have repaid you for saving my life, I will never leave your side and service you in any way I can." She explained.

"Wait, wait, wait! Are you telling me that you are my servant, or a temporary servant until a debt has been paid?" I asked.

"Yes. But that could take years, or even decades before a debt is fully repaid. And sometimes that could carry over to your children, and even their children's children." She said.

"Ugh, bu..I...I mean..uh." I couldn't think of anything to say about this.

"Do not worry Master, I will serve you diligently." She exclaimed.
