Millions of Years Ago...
Skidding across the rocky floor, Oogar pressed his feet against the hard cold grounds to stop himself from careening any further. This resulted in blisters forming beneath his soles from the friction but the boy powered through the agonizing, burning sensation as he charged forth with his spear in hand. The Mammoth furrowed her brow and made a rush for the young hunter. The two closed distance between each other as the young Neanderthal lunged for the mammoth, the sharp tip of his spear aimed for the mother's head.
Even in the midst of a dreadful blizzard, the Proboscidean could see the attack as clear as day for the mammoth outstretched her trunk and snagged the boy's spear with an iron grip. With the hunter's weapon in her clutches, the mammoth whipped her head back with the boy being dragged along in the air, his hands still grasping at his spear. The Matriarch began to viciously swing the adolescent to and fro, the clutch on the weapon beginning to falter before the megafauna jerked its head down. A windup was not needed for the mammoth threw its trunk into the air, forcibly unhinging Oogar's hands from the spear's shaft, chucking the boy high into the dark, gelid skies.
Tossing aside the spear, the mammoth waited for her human opponent to come back down. Oogar was jostled about in the air, the frigid wind carelessly throttling him about before gravity took hold and dragged him back to the frozen earth. Rather than letting the young hunter's body against the frozen, craggy ground, the mammoth instead swung its trunk into the boy's side. The moment the blow registered, Oogar couldn't help but emit a sickly gasp as a few rips in his body cracked like twigs from the hammer-like strength that came with the matriarch's blow.
The impact launched the adolescent Hunter into the surrounding, jagged rock walls, striking them back first as an agonized scream was drawn from his mouth before he crashed to the rocky floor. Even under overwhelming pain, the young hunter refused to die here. He had come far enough in this perilous world and he had no intention of letting his flame become snuffed this moment. Oogar slowly but surely picked himself up, his legs visibly quivering while blood trickled down his back like a waterfall.
Glaring at the megafauna that trudged towards him, Oogar unsheathed a small knife strapped to his hip. With his depleting energy, he focused it into a dead sprint, one that appeared more like a haggard gallop, towards the mammoth in a last-ditch effort to kill the shaggy beast. All while emitting an animalistic cry that weakened his vocal cord. The Mammoth didn't need to charge for this as she swayed her head sideways, driving the spiked edge of its curved tusk into the child's abdomen. Oogar's war cry was reduced to a mere whimper as the tusk entered into his stomach, shredding through flesh and muscle alike.
With the human gored against her tusk, the mammoth carelessly flung the body several yards away. The child's body tumbled across cold terrain, painting a red stripe along the surface before his body came to a complete halt. Against all possible odds, Oogar was still alive but unfortunately, the mammoth knew this. The Matriarch began to advance towards the bloodied boy, preparing to crush the child into a gory mess. But the hairy beast was unable to take even just a few steps before her ear fluttered slightly to a faint sound that was nearly drowned out by the howling wind.
An ape-like scream made itself prevalent, the source hidden by the falling snow. The Mammoth suddenly felt a sharp paint lodge into her back, the proboscidian screeched with pain as it stumbled forward. Craning his neck up with a hand clutching his bleeding abdomen, Oogar gave witness to his father perched atop the megafauna's back with his spear wedged into her back. The Neanderthal kept a firm grasp on the spear's shaft as the mammoth attempted to remove him from her back by slamming into the surrounding canyon walls. Rocks and snow scattered onto the craggy, ice-ridden grounds while clefts started to present themselves in the frozen soil.
After the mother exhausted herself after the fifth to seventh slam it was there that Oogar's father saw his cue to wrench the spear from the mammoth's back before directing the spear's jagged blade to her head. However, the mammoth knew better than to let the caveman exploit its most vulnerable spot as she managed to whip her body to the side, leading to Oogar's father losing his balance and falling from the mammoth's shoulders. Before touching the icy grounds, the proboscidian caught the hunter in mid-air with her trunk. Now caught in her grasps, Oogar's father was viciously slammed into the icebound terrain. Further damaging the sensitive ground, the fissures worsened with every strike.
Watching the sidelines with a blurred vision, Oogar somehow summoned the energy to rise back up albeit with a hunched stance. His stomach gushed blood that ran down his legs and waist and spilled onto the ice beneath him. He took a careworn step forward, almost slipping on his own blood but he maintained balance somehow. In his last moments, he shambled to the mammoth that was brutalizing his father while simultaneously calling out the beast with a weakened yet determined cry. His cries were muffled by the howling winds and crackling ice as Oogar's father regained his hold of the spear even when being throttled about, slashing the spear across the mammoth's once she lifted his body up for another bodyslam.
A laceration ran across the mammoth's eye, the pain forcing her to drop the hunter as it let loose an agonized screech. She stomped back a few paces, her heavy footsteps fracturing the ice to a greater extent. While Oogar's father slowly pulled the upper half of his body up, he noticed his own son limping towards the mammoth with a knife tightly grasped in his clutches.
"NO!" The Neanderthal cried, regaining all the strength needed to lift himself back onto the ground. Unfortunately, right before the father could take action, the child made the fatal error in attempting to stab the mother in the hind leg. An attack that even through with her partially bloodied vision, was swiftly countered with a back kick to the face. The adolescent's nose was shattered, blood shot out from his nostrils while a weak gag was all he could vocally assemble. Running past the mammoth, Oogar's father was now deadset on rescuing his son but the Megafauna wasn't going to let up that easily as she followed in hot pursuit.
The icebound floor was beginning to crumble, fissures and crevasses opening up on the icy grounds. It would only be a matter of time before the frozen earth around them gave way and a cold abyss would be all three of their graves. Snatching his son off the collapsing floor, the father prepared to make a leap of faith before a sudden shift in the ice caused the father and son, as well as the mammoth to drop to the frozen terrain. A crevasse formed right before them, the ice splitting apart having reached the limit of how much damage it could endure.
The Matriarch wasn't giving up, however, it writhed about and slammed its forelimbs against the ice which only served to further deepen the terrain. Oogar's father pushed himself with his son tightly fastened to himself, leaping over the crevasse while the mammoth struggled to regain her stance. The Mammoth nudged itself, the ice getting close to collapsing but in a last-ditch effort to escape her plummet, she shot herself upward with a baffling show of agility as the mammoth was now temporarily airborne. Even if it was for just brief, minuscule seconds.
Landing back onto the ice, the matriarch's weight caused the entire ice floor to shake entirely. The crevasses only grew worse and the ground was now deteriorating into mere ice slabs that descended into the seemingly bottomless pit. The Matriarch's efforts to rescue herself from the falling ground only lead to hindering the escape of the two hunters while the mammoth herself found herself trapped on a sinking ice platform.
The Mammoth could watch as the cracks traveled through the ice at a greater pace and soon enough, the fur-coated behemoth descended into the murky blackness beneath her. A final trumpet-like cry rang out from the mammoth right before her descension into the abyss. Oogar's father struggled to keep going as the icebound earth around him was giving in and at a startling rate. However, from above, he noticed the surrounding cliffs that loomed over the crumbling grounds from below. A climb like that seemed impossible but when gazing at his son, he knew someone needed to leave this place alive.
"Oogar..." His father spoke, pulling the child in for an embrace. For a moment, the gelid winds swarming around the child had disappeared and in its place was warmth.
"Be the strongest rock, no matter how bad the storm..."
The child hugged back, clinging onto the last bits of warmth before he was suddenly hoisted further into the air by his father. Reeling his arm back and spinning around, the neanderthal hurled his son as far and high as his arms could allow. Oogar flew through the air, reaching the clifftop and barely grabbing a hold of the ledge. Scrambling to the top, the boy spun around where he saw his father just several feet below him. The Adolescent lowered himself and reached out with a hand, screaming for his dad to make an attempt to reach him.
However, such an effort wasn't made. His father stood put with his neck craned to the peak where he saw his son, taking in one final breath before his time was up. The ice-encased earth gave way and Oogar could only watch as his father plummeted into the chasm along with several large ice chunks. Disappearing off into the inky blackness that awaited their arrival.
Gone from the world altogether.
Malphas's Dungeon...
"HIYAAAAAH!"
SCHLLLKKKK!
The wet sound of a knight's body being chopped into two halves was audible through the dungeon corridors, both divided bloody sections of the body split apart and flopped to the dirt-ridden floor. Drenching the ground and walls with blood and fleshy tidbits. Niffty recoiling a battleaxe that she had stolen from the knight, the blood-soaked cyclops screeched with victory whilst raising
"ANOTHER KILL FOR THE BLOOD QUEEN!" Niffty hollered aloud while Husk gingerly stepped over the split-apart corpse only to step into a puddle of lukewarm blood that made the cat's skin crawl.
"Ugh..." Husk groaned with revulsion, wiping his soles against dryer ground to get the blood off. "Christ, Niffty... By now, I think even Alastor would tell you to calm the fuck down."
"Sorry, Husk! Too busy maiming my enemies in horrific ways, now let's move!" Niffty exclaimed before running off down the corridor, holding her axe with elation. Husk had no other option but to follow his murder-happy accomplice as he ran after her, wondering what lay ahead of them and just what the next horrific mutilation that Niffty was about to carry out. Their run led them to a large door that marked the end of the corridor, one that was heavily locked while two guards stayed put at the entrance, taking notice of the intrusion.
"HALT! THIS DOOR IS-"
BLAM!
BLAM!
The guard's yell was cut off when a bullet bore into his skull, followed by another gunshot to his partner's head. The two guards dropped dead like a sack of potatoes while Husk blew a streak of smoke emanating from his revolver's barrel.
"WHAT THE HECK, HUSK!?" Niffty angrily shouted at the winged demon, stomping her spindly legs in a huff. "I WAS GONNA CHOP HIS HEAD OFF AND BEAT THE OTHER GUY TO DEATH WITH SAID HEAD! IT WAS GONNA BE SO COOL!"
"I need my fair share of the action too, Niffty." Husk said before approaching the door, blasting each lock off with a squeeze of his trigger. Right when he was about to push the door open, Niffty hastily shoved him aside.
"MAKE WAY! THE BLOOD QUEEN WAITS FOR NO ONE!" Niffty shrieked at the top of her lungs before chopping away at the door with violent axe swings. Wood chips flew were sent into every direction while the door was reduced to a mess of wooden planks and splinters.
"HEEERE'S NIFFTY!" The crazed cyclopean yelled out with manic delight before giggling to herself. "Man, I'm a roll with this!~"
"Dammit, Niffty! Get a fucking grip will...ya?" Husk angry shout melted into a confused whisper the second he stepped into the room. Husk and Niffty were met with dozens of guards, all of whom froze in place and turned around to face them. That wasn't all, however, for there were crates and piles of raven drones, some of which were being moved on conveyor belts that dragged them into chutes leading to incinerators.
"...Well, would you look at that. More assholes to kill." Husk said, reloading his firearm. Niffty's pupil shrank while she raised her axe as soon the knights unsheathed their weapons.
"And more blood to spill...~"
Malphas's Projector Booth...
"Keheheh... I... I suppose there's only one logical step in this whole ordeal." Malphas chuckled, taking one step that was responded with the gray demoness drawing out her spear. The Goetia's eyes lit up with savage excitement before ripping his lavender cape off, displaying his iron claws that were ready to dig into their target's flesh.
"I'LL JUST HAVE TO TEAR ALL OF YOU INTO BLOODY PIECES! KEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEEEEE!" He expressed with manic glee. Charlie's response was that of a quiet exhale as she outstretched an arm.
"In that case." With a burst of flames, she conjured up her pitchfork from the hellfire and held it tightly. "Give me everything you got, bitch."
Letting his murderous rage get the better of him, Malphas sprang into action. Quite literally so, thrusting himself with a push of both talons before lashing out with a swing of his iron claws. The corvid cared less of who he was aiming for, whether it was Charlie and Vaggie, just so long as he could inflict a horrific gash on either of the demonesses was perfectly fine with him. Despite his swiftness, the duo came prepared for the attack as both of them crossed their weapons together in an 'X' formation. The spear and pitchfork both closed together once Malphas's arms came into a close vicinity. The Goetia was suspended in mid-air, the fork and spear holding him like a pair of chopsticks.
Malphas wriggled and squirmed about in a desperate attempt to free his arms but Charlie and Vaggie had other plans in mind, the two demonesses simultaneously whipping themselves into the opposite direction, still holding the squirming raven. Upon finishing their pivot, Charlie and Vaggie pulled their weapons apart and from it, the Goetia was launched across the projection booth before crashing into a wall. The impact left Malphas in a daze while a shelf above him, carrying various film reels slanted resulting in the contents spilling and dropping onto the Goetia's head.
Grumbling with fury, Malphas shot right back up and began to hurl a barrage of throwing knives. The blades eagerly rushed through the air only to be knocked to the ground with daggers courtesy of Vaggie, countering the long-ranged assault with throwing knives of her very own. Angered that his second attack was thwarted, Malphas leaped forward and wildly slashed his claws from different angles. Charlie stepped in and warded off the erratic swings with the long handle of her pitchfork. Malphas didn't let up, his attacks gradually increasing in both speed and aggression.
Even with her impressive blocking reflexes, Malphas's aggression would lead to him landing a lucky slash that etched itself across Charlie's malar. A shallow cut opened up on the hotel owner's rosy cheek, extracting a pained yelp from her ebony lips. The sight of her lover in pain provoked a scolding fury within Vaggie.
"That incision looks lovely on you dear..." Malphas said with a heinous chuckle before lunging at Charlie, both claws lengthened outward with their primary trajectory being the hotel owner's eyes. "HOW ABOUT A MISSING EYE TO GO WITH THAT!?"
Right when Malphas was about to dig his claws into Charlie's eye, Vaggie suddenly came rushing to the side and knocked him off course with a shoulder check. Malphas hit the ground with an audible thud before Vaggie mounted herself onto the corvid, jamming her spear right into his shoulder blade. Malphas wasn't allowed to make a scream for he was socked right in the face with a left hook from the Hispanic demoness. Vaggie didn't stop there, for she began to wail on the corvid with blow after blow, blood staining the Latina's knuckles for every strike landed.
WHAM!
"KEEP."
WHAM!
"DIRTY."
WHAM!
"HANDS."
WHAM!
"OFF."
WHAM!
"MY."
WHAM!
"CHARLIE!"
Right when Vaggie was about to land one final haymaker that would certainly leave Malphas unconscious, the corvid reached out and grabbed Vaggie by the sides of her head. Malphas proceeded to strike his forehead right into Vaggie's schnoz, knocking the Hispanic demoness back. Malphas shakily got back to his feet, ripping the spear from his deltoid. The corvid gritted his teeth from the pain, more blood gushing out from the wound.
"FILTHY SLUT! IT'S YOU WHO SHOULD BE KEEPING THEIR SHIT-SMEARED PAWS TO THEMSELVES! AS A MATTER OF FACT, I'LL CUT THEM OFF MYSELF." Malphas screeched, rushing towards his downed foe only to quickly jerk himself back when he was alerted to Charlie, who attacked him from the side with a thrust of her pitchfork. Upon evading being skewered on the fork's tines, Malphas chucked a dagger into Charlie's shin.
The Demonic Princess twirled her pitchfork at the sight of the flying blade, deflecting right back at the corvid. Malphas parried the soaring dagger back to the hotel owner, who merely repeated the past and sent it back to its original thrower. Both the raven demon and the hotel owner had now found themselves in a game of tennis, ricocheting the knife back and forth. Passing through the air before the blade came to an abrupt halt when a hand caught it by the blade, perfectly wedging between the index and middle finger.
The person who caught the knife was none other than Vaggie, who rotated the dagger into her grasp before making a rush at Malphas. The corvid unleashed a demented cry before flinging two more knives into Vaggie's direction, who swiftly side-stepped the first one, only getting a mere shallow scrape on her shoulder. Vaggie ignored the minor nick, continuing towards the raven demon but before catching the second blade.
"Thanks for the weapons, asshole!" Vaggie taunted, now armed with two daggers that were courtesy of her opponent. The Latina swiped at the raven with her left arm, Malphas narrowly ducked beneath the passing blade that only nicked off a few feathers off his head. Malphas retaliated with an aggressive slash of his claws, Vaggie blocking them with her two newly-equipped daggers. The two demons trade swings and slashes alike, not stopping until one of their attacks makes its mark. It would be long before Malphas's claws and Vaggie's knives locked with each other, the demons glaring into one another eyes with hatred apparent in both their eyes.
"Foul wench! You're the reason this happened!" Malphas spoke through gritted teeth.
"And there you go again blaming other people for your issues." Vaggie retorted, putting more muscle into her attack that slowly but surely pushed Malphas back.
"Besides, even if I didn't meet Charlie, I doubt she'd ever go with someone like you." She continued, further enraging the corvid as he started to drive himself forward. Gradually matching Vaggie in power in the struggle.
"AND WHAT MAKES YOU CONFIDENT IN YOUR INANE CHATTER, YOU DISGUSTING SINNER DOG!?" Malphas screeched, droplets of spit flying out from his beak. Vaggie recoiled in disgust only to suddenly lean forward with a semi-smirk present on her visage.
"Look up and find out." She humored, prompting Malphas to slightly crane his neck up where he was met with a heel that was slammed the perverted lord right smack dab in the face. While Malphas was busy with Vaggie, he failed to realize that Charlie had planned an unpleasant overhead attack, one that launched him right into the projector, knocking it to the floor in the process.
"Because that's what I do to you first thing," Charlie stated, landed back on the floor with both legs.
"And now to finish you off!" Hell's Princess continued, outstretching an arm while the palm of her hand ignited with a glowing plume of hellfire. However, realizing where they were, Vaggie put a stop to the attack.
"Charlie, don't!" Vaggie said, putting a hand on Charlie's forearm. "This place is chock-full of evidence, we can't risk destroying any of it!"
"Shoot, you're right. We need to get him out of the room before this fight escalates any further, but how?..." Charlie pondered while Vaggie scanned the perimeter for any potential answers to their problems. Suddenly, a thought occurred to both demonesses when they looked over their shoulder to see the projector aperture that was situated behind them.
"...Thinking what I'm thinking?" Vaggie asked.
"Way ahead of you. Hey, Malphas!" Charlie called out, gaining the corvid's attention. "Another reason why I wouldn't waste my life with you is because of that... that.. uh... limp... worm... in your pants!... Yeah!"
"WHAT!?" Malphas screamed, standing upright from the mediocre-at-best insult thrown at him. Seems that Malphas's ego bruised much easier than the hotel owner had anticipated. "FIRST YOU REJECT ME, YOU THROTTLE ME ABOUT IN MY OWN DOMINION, AND NOW YOU MOCK MY GIRTHY VIRILE MEMBER IN SUCH A CLASSLESS MANNER!? I WILL REND YOU OF YOUR SKIN, CONCUBINE!"
"Okay, with a name like that he's clearly never talked to another woman before has he?" Vaggie muttered to herself before swinging to the side to avoid Malphas, who leaped forward in a vicious attack to skewer his opponent. Charlie also evaded the attack but right as she dodged the attack, she pivoted her body in a similar manner to a ballerina whilst sticking a leg out. The demonic princess's leg caught on fire by the force of the spin, her leg striking against Malphas's occiput.
The raven felt the back end of his skull rattle from the fiery impact before he was jettisoned through the window, shattering the glass into a rainfall of shards. His body flew across the theatre and tore a sizeable hole through the polyester screen. With a flex of her knee, Charlie extinguished the flames as smoke resonated off of her leg.
"Alright, I think we should be good now." Hell's Princess said with a relieved sigh before turning to her lover. "Let's grab as much evidence as we can before he gets back up."
"Right, your dad is still at the hotel, right? Maybe once we grab the film reels, you open a portal to there so we can show them t-"
...rrrrmmmbmbbmbmrrmm...
Without any warning, the floor beneath them was starting to violently shake underneath their shoes. Charlie and Vaggie nearly fell to the ground, holding onto each other's shoulders to preserve balance.
"Shit! Grab the film reels, NOW!" Vaggie shouted with panic, prompting the two demonesses to make beeline for one of the nearest shelves to gather evidence. Right as they were about to strip the shelves bare of any film reels, the room felt as though it was starting to shift at the angle slanting the right. Anything that wasn't fastened to the walls came sliding into the direction of which the floor was tilting, including the duo were unable to keep a steady balance and as such, they slid down into the projector aperture. Right before the two demonesses fell, Vaggie grabbed hold of the ledge while Charlie clung onto her girlfriend's leg, dangling over the zombified audience.
"Hnngh!... Hang on Charlie, I'll try to get us out of he-" The second Vaggie made an attempt to pull herself back, she was met with the projector sliding towards her with no signs of stopping.
"...Fuck." That was all that the Hispanic demoness could say before she was hit right in the face by the falling projector, forcing her to release her hand from the sill. The two demons made a rough landing between the two seating areas while the projector smashed against the stone floor, sending bits and pieces of plastic and metal everywhere.
"Oh no, you're not leaving this place alive...~" Malphas's grating voice spoke through the playhouse, the two demonesses looking over to see the corvid standing at the very end of the theatre in front of the projection screen. While the area was dimly lit, Charlie and Vaggie could already picture that punchable smirk on his face producing that condescending tone.
"After all, the show is merely beginning! BEHOLD, THE TERROR TROWEL" The raven demon screeched before brandishing a new instrument for his adversaries to behold. It was a silvery trowel, the head adorned in vine-esque patterns.
"And what are you gonna do with that? Dig a hole?" Vaggie sarcastically scoffed at this new weapon.
"The only holes I will personally excavate will be your graves!" Malphas yelled before raising the terror trowel in the air, which was beginning to develop a lavender hue. Within seconds the ground rattled yet again. The surrounding chairs, still occupied by the captive viewers, were starting to shake before several of them were torn from the bolts that kept them bound to the floor and hovered high into the air. The braindead occupants only weakly groaned as their seats were hurled into the direction of the hotel organizers.
"Oh my god... H-He's throwing his own hostages at us!" Vaggie screamed with terror while Charlie sprang into action, her wings materializing from a sparkle of fire as she rocketed through the air. Charlie caught the first seat that was flung at her, hoisting it onto one of her shoulders with great strength. Right as she caught the first hostage, the second one came at her without warning, prompting Charlie to just barely catch the other one. Weighed down significantly by the weight of both chairs, Charlie was forced to make a landing in the middle aisle, not before narrowly ducking a thrid hostage that sailed towards Vaggie.
Rather than avoiding it, Vaggie knew that the hostage tied to the projectile would be injured so her move was to quickly leap onto the chair right before it touched the ground. With several precise cuts of her spear, the Latina freed the hostage from their constraints before falling limp in Vaggie's arms. With the captive free, Vaggie leaped from the chair's backrest as it crashed right into the stairwell. Charlie freed the other two hostages, hauling them over her shoulders.
"Okay, new plan, we free any remaining hostages and then we go after Malphas." Charlie said to Vaggie, who simply nodded in agreement before quickly placing the freed prisoners to the corner of the room to keep them out of harm's way. Thus, the two demonesses got to work in rescuing the hostages whether they were airborne or not. Realizing that his foes had their focus on his prisoners, Malphas scowled with frustration before directing the terror trowel to the overhead light fixture attached to the ceiling.
"PERHAPS THIS WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION!" Malphas said, the large fixture beginning to undo itself from its restraints. Charlie was the first to notice the descending light fixture in the middle of freeing an audience member.
"VAGGIE, LOOK OUT!" She screamed before pushing Vaggie to safety, proceeding to throw the captive audience member into her arms. Right before the light fixture could crush any prisoners that were still stuck in their restraints, the hotel owner managed to stop the vaulting from collapsing with both her hands raised over her head. The large fixed appliance was held over Charlie's head, while did have a good enough strength to lift it, her energy was slowly declining from the grueling weight she carried.
"C-Charlie!" Vaggie shrieked with terror.
"Hnngh! Don't... Worry about me..." Charlie said in between grunts, her knees buckling slightly. "Keep freeing... the hostages..."
Taking Charlie's word, albeit reluctantly, Vaggie resumed releasing as many prisoners as she possibly could. Malphas didn't plan on making it a breeze for her, as he launched forth more seated prisoners her way, along with Charlie's as he laughed with maniacal glee. With no time to spare, Vaggie swiftly leaped to the nearest chair and removed the restraints. Pulling the dazed demon from their cushiony seat and swiftly moving onto the next, whereas Charlie broke the fall of two flying hostages by using the overhead light fixture as a makeshift platform.
Charlie's legs started to quiver from the increase in weight, beads of sweat began dripping down her brow. Malphas smirked at Charlie's struggle as he directed the terror trowel once again to the ceiling where a mess of wires and steel drooped from where the light fixture was once situated. The cluster of wires started to unravel themselves before slinking down, writhing about like a snake quiver. Electrical sparks flew from the torn wires as they slunk towards the fixed appendage held in Charlie's hands.
"Now for a SHOCKING surprise! KEHEHEHE!" Malphas laughed like a madman, the cables began enmeshing themselves around the overhead light fixture.
"NO!" Vaggie screamed, taking notice of this terrible turn of events. Stowing the hostages that were on hand into a safer corner of the area, Vaggie made a mad dash to the tangled-up mess of wires with little time to spare. Malphas dropped down more wires targeting the Hispanic demoness, who diced her way through the danger. With every wire that had entangled itself onto the light fixture, a painful shock started to surge through the metal. Charlie cried out in agony while hostages rested upon the makeshift platform were bringing to spastically jitter and moan.
"THAT'S RIGHT, MAKE LIKE THE CHICKENS AND FRY! KEHEHEHEHEE!" Malphas continued to jeer, sending in a great influx of wires to reduce his targets into charred corpses. This prompted Vaggie to pick up speed, reaching the light fixture just in time as she hastily tore off the restraints. She felt the agonizing shock sting her body, further amplified by continuous wires that strapped onto the metallic bars. The electrifying sensation even staggered Vaggie's movements but the Hispanic demoness toughed it out and managed to pull both hostages from their chairs.
"THROW IT AT HIM!" Vaggie yelled, jumping off of the fixture while Charlie screamed at the top of her lungs and hurled the electrified hunk of steel at Malphas with a vigorous pitch. Ripping a few suspended cables from the ceiling in the process. Watching the fixture sail towards him, Malphas tried to parry the fixture back to his opponents but the several tons of speeding steel was too fast for his reflexes and thusly, he struck full force. The raven was now pinned beneath several tons of electrified metal, a screech drawn from his beak every time he underwent an agonizing shock.
With their enemy temporarily subdued, Charlie and Vaggie brought the last few hostages to safety. The electrocution they were forced to endure had taken quite the toll on their bodies, smoke sizzling off their back and shoulders with visible singe marks seared on their clothing.
"Okay… I think… we should have gotten all of them by now." Vaggie wheezed, her lungs barely gathering the amount of air just to breathe. Charlie placed her hands onto her knees, catching her breath while wiping any remaining sweat droplets from her forehead.
"Psst! Ms. Charlie, Ms. Veggie!" A shrill yet familiar voice whispered out to the two demonesses. Looking up, the two noticed Niffty, who was covered in an alarming amount of blood, poking her head out from the aperture.
"Niffty!? What are you doing here?..." Charlie inquired, the cyclopean maid casually leaping from the window sill and onto the floor, unfazed by the drop.
"Oh, well the path Husk and I took led to that creepy bird guy's incinerator room where he planned to destroy all the drones. It was occupied by a bunch of guards but I was feeling a bit more blood-hungry than usual so obviously, they didn't even last a second…" Niffty explained, her last sentence giving an ominous sensation to Charlie and Vaggie coupled with the unnerving smile she gave.
"Anyways, what the heck happened here?" Niffty asked, giving the ravage theatre a quick glance.
"Malphas had an entire brainwashing experiment here with live test subjects, I'd go into more detail but I don't think we have enough time. We need to get the evidence and hostages out of her…" Charlie said, unsure of what the next step is. Suddenly, an idea had dawned onto Vaggie, realizing a way out of this whole mess.
"Wait… I have an idea." Vaggie said, Charlie and Niffty both listening in on her plan. "Charlie, you have the ability to create portals right?"
"Well, of course. But I don't think I can be able to do that here. Not with Malphas swarming at us relentlessly." Charlie replied.
"Which is why I know a way out of this. You two get the hostages along with whatever evidence you can get your hands on and get to the drone room. By then, you will make a portal for Niffty, Husk, and yourself to deliver evidence to Lucifer since there won't be any guards to get in the way." Vaggie explained, the hotel owner and the cyclopean maid listening intently to her strategy.
"Alright, but what about feather freak over there?" Niffty said, pointing over to Malphas, who managed to pull the light fixture off of him with his trowel. Carelessly hurling against the wall before lifting himself back onto his talons, black smoke radiating from his near charred body.
"Well, that's simple. We need a distraction and I personally volunteer." Vaggie said both hands clenched onto her spear's shaft.
"Vaggie, a-are you sure?..." Charlie asked with concern. "I don't want to get you hurt, especially from him. I-I can't bare to even think abou-"
"Charlie," Vaggie firmly said, cutting off the hotel owner's pleas. "I know you worry for me. Hell, I worry a lot about you too. However, if none of us act on this, I doubt we'll get everything we need to Lucifer in time. Tell me something, do you want Malphas to leave unpunished and unscathed?"
"...Go get him, babe." The demonic princess said, a hard expression surfacing on her visage while giving a nod of approval.
"Give 'em the ol' one, two, Ms. Veggie! And maybe the three, four, and... Oooh... GIVE 'EM A FIVE TOO!" Niffty cheered on while shadowboxing to simulate the beating that was guaranteed to befall the Goetia.
Vaggie couldn't help but crack a smirk right before she darted towards Malphas at lightning-fast speeds, closing the distance that separated the two in mere seconds. Right as she got into close proximity, Vaggie extended her arm out and struck the corvid with a hard clothesline. Flexing her arm around the raven's neck and proceeding to drag him forward. Both demons smashed right through the wall ahead of them from the momentum.
Busting through the walls, the Latina came rushing into a new dimly-lit corridor adjacent to the theatre. Jail cells and torches were attached to the stone walls. With their change in scenery, Vaggie unleashed Malphas from her grip as she slammed her bigoted adversary to the ground with a strong push from her arm. Cracks ran along the ground beneath him the second his body struck the ground.
"This fight is just gonna be between you and me, asshole!" Vaggie snarled, pointing her spear at the downed corvid.
"Besides, wouldn't it be more fitting to fight the 'foul sinner' that ruined took your 'princess' away from you?" She continued, her words sparking a murderous vigor within Malphas, as he rose from the ground as if he were vampire emerging from his coffin.
"You know what? You're actually right. Nothing would please me more than to strangle every last ounce of life until you're nothing but a shriveled corpse..." The raven hissed with contempt, brandishing the terror trowel for his second scuffle.
"Please..." Vaggie said, readying her spear. "If there's anything those weak hands can choke, it can only be accompanied by lotion and tissues..."
"Grrrrrr... RAUUUUGH! SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH, YOU DOWN-TRODDEN SLUT!" In a fit of rage, Malphas leveled the terror trowel to the surrounding stone walls. Vaggie had already made her move, lunging forward while simultaneously jabbing her spear that was aimed for the corvid's chest. Malphas side-stepped the oncoming attack but that wasn't all he had in store for his adversary, for a stone block suddenly rocketed out from the wall behind him. Vaggie's eyes widened from the brick hurtling at her, forcing the spearwoman to drop to the ground while the stone block whisked over her head and crashed to the ground. Upon ducking, Vaggie felt the ground beneath her rumble slightly before a second stone erupted from underneath her chin.
TWHACK!
Vaggie was unlucky enough to foresee this attack and as a result, the brick smashed itself into the submental space of her face. The impact brought out a pained howl from the Hispanic demoness, her chin obtaining a visible bruise in the process. Just as she thought she had a moment to think, a third blocky projectile was ejected from the surrounding walls. The stone cube slammed straight into Vaggie's cheek, firmly lodging itself against her jaw almost though she had been struck square in the face with a sledgehammer. Coughlets of blood and even a tooth flew from her maw before her body was sent skidding back.
"Oooh? Was that painful? GOOD, IT GETS WORSE! KEHEHEHEHE!~" Malphas said with manic glee, the terror trowel now pointed at the ground. A sudden wave of stone began to jut from the ground. This small gate of stone ran across the floor before reaching Vaggie midway through her tumble, punching against her back with the force needed to launch her body into the air, sending her back into the direction of her opponent. Right before Vaggie could get into close range, Malphas ripped a prison bar from a nearby prison cell with his trowel and positioned it in a way to skewer Vaggie.
Even when she was throttled by the dungeon itself, Vaggie pulled herself back to her senses when she saw the bar that was waiting to impale her. Reeling her spear back and over her head, the Hispanic demoness swung her spear down and cleaved through the prison bar like a hot knife through butter. This only gave Malphas more material to work with as he lifted the two halves of the metal rod before sending one forward to impale Vaggie.
The Hispanic demoness swung herself to the side, the sharp side of the metal rode merely left a shallow scrape that had opened up on her hip. The second half was slammed down, aimed to puncture Vaggie's skull. The hotel manager rolled forward just in time while the metal rod embedded itself against the cobblestone floor.
In an act to further hinder Vaggie from attacking him, Malphas removed two sconces from the enclosing walls with a flick of the terror trowel. He proceeded to remove wall-mounted flags of his symbol from their position, draping them onto the flambeaus. The banners were set ablaze, appearing though they were levitating phantoms composed from the flames. The two burning sheets whisked forward like puppets on a string, their fire eager to lick a harrowing sear on their speedy target. Vaggie was forced to back away the second one of the fiery sheets swooped down, an ember streak following along its movements.
The scorching banners began to circle Vaggie, enclosing the hotel manager in a ring of fire. The flames were growing dangerously close while Malphas waited for his foe to burn to cinders but Vaggie had a counterattack in mind. Bending her spear slightly and rising onto her tippy-toes, the Hispanic demoness spun at a wild rate. Gracefully pivoting as such spears while unleashing her as it sailed from her grasp and sped through the flames, the blade catching fire as a result. Malphas's eyes widened when his abdomen was skewered by the flaming spear.
Thanks to the air current of the spin, the flames dispersed into nothingness while the wall banners were but ashen rags crumpled to the ground. This gave Vaggie the opportunity to race to her enemy without stopping. Even under excruciating pain, Malphas used whatever mobility left in his arms to protect himself from charging demoness but Vaggie was already up close.
Reaching the corvid, Vaggie wrenched the fiery spear from Malphas's gut, his flesh sizzling from the heat while scorched perforation was visible on his stomach. The Moth-like demoness didn't hesitate to unleash a barrage of fierce slashes that all left behind bloody gashes all over the raven's arms and torso. This onslaught of vicious attacks was all capped off with a verticle slice that started from Malphas's abdomen and reached his torso, blood spraying from all his gashes.
"RAAAAHAAAUUUUUGGGRRGH!" Malphas cried out, his fresh wounds painting the walls red before he glared at his source of ire with animalistic hatred. "THAT TEARS IT! YOU'VE WHITTLED ME DOWN TO MY LAST NERVE, YOU VILE BRIDE-STEALING SKANK!"
"I guess that makes two of us, you blue-blooded shrimp dick!" Vaggie retorted, enraging the corvid to a greater extent. Lifting the terror trowel high over his head, the surrounding walls began to violently rattle with speckles of dust starting to sprinkle from the ceiling. Vaggie darted back and forth, witnessing as the dungeon around her was now beginning to collapse. Stone chunks comprising the overhead
"ERRRAUAAAAHH! YOU ARE DEAD! YOU ARE DEAD! YOU ARE DEEEEEEAD!" Malphas yelled as Vaggie frantically darted out of the way of falling debris. The Hotel Manager vaulted herself over a stone hunk before gracefully evading a rainfall of bricks, making a dead sprint towards Malphas. More stones came flying into her way, the Hispanic demoness was light on her feet by bobbing and weaving around each projectile before springing herself to her feathery nemesis.
"YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE WHO'S DYING!" Vaggie screamed back, bringing down her spear. Malphas responded to her swing by thrusting his trowel forward, both weapons came crashing into one and another, the deafening 'CLANG' erupting through the underground corridors.
The moment the spearhead connected with the trowel's blade, an eruption of purple light enveloped both fighters before spreading out through the dungeon hallways.
And down came the walls.
The Fortress Courtyard...
The fortress ward had now become a bloody graveyard, the corpses of Malphas's men were strewn throughout the area along with decapitated heads, amputated limbs, and spilled guts. Each guard that was sent into the chaotic warzone had either turned tail and ran for the hills or had met a gruesome end whether he was crushed into a red puddle by Oogar, blown to hamburger by Angel Dust's Tommy guns, or whatever inhumane method of execution that Alastor had in mind.
Their brutal assault had carried on for what felt like hours, the knight's forces chipped away at their last wave, and knowing what gruesome fate awaited them, a snowball's chance in hell looked more favorable than their odds. Oogar had sent a charging horde of soldiers that were brave enough to approach the towering mammoth flying with a swat of his trunk. The knights were either turned into a crimson stane on the surrounding walls or had disappeared beyond the horizon. Angel mowed down the remaining knights and Alastor casually ripped a guard's head off, his spinal column still attached to the head.
The Radio Demon eyed the head in a peculiar manner, raising a brow. While he did sport his permanent smile, it appeared reserved compared to when he and his fellow hotel locals made their daring entrance. It seemed as though he had now been growing tired of maiming these knights as
"You know I'm beginning to grow quite blasé to this debacle, wouldn't you agree?" Alastor said to Angel, having just turned a squadron into a mound of bullet-ridden corpses.
"Honestly, yeah. Not that I'm against fucking someone's shit up but when it goes on and everyone we come across dies immediately, it's startin' to lose its luster." Angel said with an apathetic tone of voice, not even batting an eye that he was surrounded by a field of knight carcasses. Oogar, on the other hand, unleashed a screech of victory and rage, knowing that the last of Malphas's men were reduced to zero.
"Least he's havin' fun." Angel said with a shrug as the mammoth began to shrink in size, his body crackling and reshaping back to his base form. Oogar collapsed to the ground, using both of his arms to break his fall. The caveman proceeded to stand back up at full height, gazing upon his gore-ridden surroundings with an indifferent look before letting loose a quiet sigh. This uneasy stillness would not last for a loud bang erupted from the ground, catching all three demons off guard as they all nearly toppled over like bowling pins.
"The fuck was that!?" Angel shouted, frantically looking around for the source of this sudden tremor. Not only that but the three demons felt as though the ground itself was struggling to support their weight. It was here that cracks started to carve their way through the ground where a blinding light revealed itself through the fissures. Any corpses that were sprawled on the ground fell into the opening crevasses while the three remaining demons backed away, shielding their eyes from the peaking light.
"WHAT KINDA BULLSHITTERY IS HAPPENING NOW!?" The arachnid screamed while crevasse opened between his legs, spreading them apart until his body was now doing the splits. Alastor, however, cupped his chin with curiosity to this unexpected quake.
"Well, this seems like enough to quell the boredom!" Alastor exclaimed, raising a brow. Angel was unable to maintain his pose for long, quickly springing to the left ledge of the crackling earth while Oogar rushed to his aid and pulled him back onto solid ground.
From the growing clefts, Oogar's ears picked up on something that sounded familiar. While it wasn't clear at first to the rumbling ground, the faint scream of Vaggie managed to make itself known to the caveman. The Mammoth Demon's eyes widened, bringing his hand away from his eyes to find himself in a different setting. The cold air brushed against his fur, the falling snow raining down from the blackened clouds.
He could see it all before his eyes.
The icebound canyon, the crumbling ground, the growing abyss.
The nightmare turned into reality. It was all beginning to replay itself.
Within the blink of an eye, Oogar was pulled from the haunting scene and stood in the crumbling courtyard once again. Angel was tugging on the caveman's arm fur, trying desperately to get his attention.
"The fuck you standing around here for, ya neolithic numbskull! We gotta go!" Angel yelled, pulling at the caveman's forearm but the giant didn't budge. Suddenly, Oogar pulled his arm away from the spider, almost causing him to trip over a corpse that was laid out behind him.
"No... Not again." Oogar said to himself aloud before making a beeline to one of the fissures that etched itself in the ward, ignoring the cries of Angel as he jumped headfirst into the crevasse. Descending into the light and out of his colleague's view.
"PORCCA PUTTANA OOGAR, WHY MUST YOU BE MAMMONI AT THE WORST TIMES!?" Angel cursed aloud.
"Well, wasn't that a twist of events?~" Alastor commented with amusement.
Oogar landed feet-first onto the rattling ground, shrugging off the brunt that coursed through his ankles. The caveman entered dead sprint in the collapsing corridor, evading falling debris along the way. His adrenaline spiked when he had heard the screams of Vaggie, clearer this time around as he hurried forth.
Farther down the crumbling dungeon, Malphas and Vaggie locked blades with each other. Every clash they made worsened the conditions of their surroundings, the walls could barely hold themselves and baldachin was breaking apart piece by piece. Vaggie had the upper hand in this struggle, forcing Malphas's shovel blade back. The raven demon was unable to match his foe in strength but if there's one thing Vaggie should've known by now, Malphas isn't the type to fight with integrity.
Using his free hand, Malphas scooped up a fistful of dust and debris. One that he had thrown right smack into Vaggie's face, the dust invading her eye, clouding her vision as she screamed with discomfort. The Latina stepped back, clutching at her face before she was kicked square in the abdomen by Malphas's talons resulting in her body being launched several yards back.
"I BID YOU FAREWELL TO YOUR SECOND AFTERLIFE, YOU HARROWING HARLOT!" The raven screeched, aiming the trowel to the deteriorating ceiling. Moving the trowel down, so to did a large chunk of stone came falling onto the temporarily-blinded demoness. Malphas was ready to hear that meaty splat coupled with the crackling bone, a noise that would satisfy him on the same level of listening to Charlie singing in the shower. However, much to the corvid's detriment, something managed to stop the descending rock from flattening Vaggie like a pancake.
As her vision began to readjust, Vaggie looked up to be met with Oogar, holding the earth mass with one hand. Vaggie's eyes widened with amazement, bewildered by the caveman's sudden participation in this grueling battle. Malphas furrowed his brow at the sight of the Mammoth demon, having robbed him of his satisfying kill.
"How ambrosial, the hairy lummox has decided to join the execution..." Malphas growled with annoyance while the caveman chucked the rubble slab at the raven, who simply stopped it mid-flight with a quick motion of his trowel. Malphas repelled the mass of rock back into Oogar's direction, the behemoth outstretched both his arms and clapped his hands together, generating a shockwave that turned the flying chunk of rubble into a measly pebble mound.
"YOU BACK AWAY!" Oogar roared at the corvid before looking over to Vaggie, kneeling down and reaching a helping hand out to her. Outstretching her arm, she held onto the Mammoth demon's hand before being pulled back onto the ground.
"Vaggie!" Oogar exclaimed, giving the Hispanic demoness a big bear hug. "A-Are you okay? D-do you need-"
"Ngh!... No need to worry about me, big guy... You can let go though." Vaggie grunted with slight discomfort from the behemoth's embrace, prompting him to let go.
"Will say though, you sure did come at the right time..." The spearwoman said, popping her neck slightly to keep her head in the game.
"I should say so." Malphas interjected, raising his short-handled shovel above his head. "I'm happy for your intrusion, Neanderthal. For this means only one thing..."
Hunks of rubble came flying over to the trowel's luminescence like a moth to a flame, bits of fallen stone and rock combined with one another until it resembled a giant hand. The 'hand' flexed its earthy fingers before clenching into the fist, hovering above the corvid, who had now broken into a menacing cackling fit.
"BECAUSE I HAVE TWO INSECTS TO SQUASH! KEHEHEHEHEHEEE!" Malphas laughed with sadistic pleasure, the golem-like hand flipping the bird to its creator's opponents. Oogar and Vaggie briefly looked each other in the eye, knowing what the next course of action had to be.
"Oogar feel like breaking all of his bones... You?" The caveman asked.
"Good to know we're both on the same page, Oogar..." The spearwoman replied, drawing forth her weapon while the behemoth turned to face the maniacal raven. "How about we clip this little bird's wings, yeah?"
The golem-like hand rushed towards its intended targets, its knuckle aimed for the biggest of the two demons. This prompted Oogar to step forward and slam the ground, resulting in a slanted spire breaching out from the ground. The flying fist collided with the earth spire, the momentum canceled out from the impact while cracks began to form along its knuckles. Undeterred by this, Malphas swung the terror trowel in a downward motion, in turn, the hand grabbed onto the tip of the spire and broke off a jagged earth piece.
Brandishing the rock as a newly-found bludgeon, the hand continued its way towards Oogar and Vaggie, both of whom quickly scattered apart as the golem-like hand swung down, striking the floor with its earth club. The ground clattered from the impact while the caveman ran up to what remained of the spire, ripping it from the ground to combat the golem-like hand while Vaggie slashed at the dorsal side of the hand. The spear merely scrapped the craggy exterior of the rock hand as it slammed itself into the Hispanic demoness with a jerk of the terror trowel.
Vaggie flew into the surrounding walls to ricochet right off them with a strong push from her legs, reeling her spear to the side before swinging it in a horizontal movement. The spear swing resulted in the index and thumb being hacked off as the hand attempted to swat Vaggie out of the air, only for her to quickly leap back while the raven's construction whisked past her. Oogar rushed towards the hand, swinging his massive spire-club which prompted the golem hand to parry it with a swing of its own. The hand matched the caveman blow for blow, rock fragments flying scattering throughout the arena with every collision.
As Oogar clashed with the golem-like hand, Malphas decided to add more danger to this predicament his opponents found themselves in by sending out bolts from nearby doors, sending them flying at the rate of a speeding bullet. Vaggie stepped in and with a flurry of precise spear swings, she cleaved through each bolt that was shot into her direction. Vaggie hurled two throwing knives at Malphas to distract him while she blitzed forward
Oogar flung himself back to let the hand swing its cudgel into the ground, giving the behemoth the golden opportunity to strike back by swatting his stone club against the hand's flank. The unprecedented attack left the hand unarmed, forced to drop its weapon as it teetered leftwards with its palm open. Oogar sprung himself into the air, twisting the spire onto its jagged edge and lodged it into its palmar region. A large hole bore itself into the hand before being smashed dorsal side first into the ground.
Oogar proceeded to slam the stalagmite down on its blunt end, hammering it down into the floor while the hand bellow could only helplessly twitch its fingers as it was now nailed against the stony ground. Within seconds, the hand crumbled into dust.
"You sinner dogs may have gotten lucky but your luck ends here!" Malphas declared before banging the trowel against the ground, a loud 'TING' ringing out as a result. The dungeon walls began to quiver from the impact before both of them started to close in on Oogar and Vaggie.
Pointing the terror trowel up at the ceiling, Malphas carved a hole into the stony exterior before levitating himself onto a piece of rubble. Leaving his opponent's to be crushed into pulp.
"SHIT! He's getting away!" Vaggie cursed while Oogar outspread both his arms to keep the walls from crushing him. Looking up at the hole in the ceiling, an idea presented itself to the Hispanic demoness as she turned to face the behemoth.
"Oogar! I want you to launch me out of the hole!" She said to the caveman, standing underneath the hole her adversary escaped from.
"I-Is Vaggie sure!" Oogar exclaimed, his hands still pressed against the closing walls while his arms ached from the physical strain.
"Don't worry about me, JUST DO IT!" Vaggie encouraged, prompting her prehistoric partner to lift his foot from the ground and stomp down. From beneath Vaggie's feet, a small earth pillar suddenly jutted from the ground with enough force and energy to launch her through the hole and skyward. Vaggie sailed through the sky, spotting Malphas attempting to fly away from the scene on the rubble slab. Pushing herself forward, the Latina managed to reach the corvid before calling out to him in an abrasive cry.
"YOU'RE GOING NOWHERE, DICKBAG!" The Hotel Manager yelled aloud, pulling both her legs back for an almighty dropkick.
"GAUGH! WHAT THE DEVIL!?" Malphas squawked, spinning around to be met with Vaggie punching her feet forward, her soles connecting with Malphas's temple. Malphas fumbled back, nearly being knocked from the ledge as he responded to the surprise attack with a violent lash of his claws, prompting Vaggie to calmly sway her body to the side. Malphas thrust the terror trowel forward, the spearwoman blocking off the attack with a quick draw of her blade. The two demons clashed atop a descending platform, swiftly passing one another in a combative pirouette, moving about in circles.
Suddenly the rock platform landed directly onto a battlement before both fighters could have a grasp of their surroundings with Vaggie almost stumbling off as a result. However, Malphas used this to his own advantage and with a cheap whip of the terror trowel, a brick was lodged out from the wall they were standing over before it came slamming into the Hispanic demoness, knocking her into the fortress ward. However, rather than hitting the ground, something caught her. Looking up, Vaggie was met with the sight of Angel looking down at her with a smug grin.
"Hey~" Angel taunted with a wink.
"...I'd tell you to shut up but I got worse things to deal with." Vaggie sighed before Angel placed her back onto the ground.
"Hey, you're not the only one who wants that incel dead." Angel said, folding his arms before the two demons stepped to their sides to avoid an oncoming stone block courtesy of Malphas.
Returning to Oogar, mustering all the strength he had in his body, the caveman pushed the walls back with an overwhelming exertion of raw power that sent a shock through the entire fortress. Even causing the donjon up top to tilt at an unnatural angle. With the walls now pushed back into their original position, Oogar launched himself upward and drilled through the ceiling above. Carving through the earth overhead, Oogar breached from the ground whilst letting loose a trembling roar... Which came to a sudden halt when he saw a massive stone block hurling his way.
"UOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAA-WOAH NELLY!" The caveman shouted, quickly side-stepping the oncoming stone ingot that was jettisoned his way. He looked in the direction from where the block was thrown at him to give witness to Angel and Vaggie evading various projectiles from the raven, standing atop the safety of his battlement. Letting out a low grunt, Oogar made a beeline to the battlement at speeds akin to a charging bull. Malphas took notice of the approaching neanderthal, quickly hurling a ballista bolt into the caveman's direction.
The caveman outmaneuvered the bladed projectile with a showcase of agility, evading more bolts that rained down from the sky and pierced the earth before ramming straight into the tower that his nemesis was standing on. Malphas was flung from the tower, soaring almost a dozen yards across the ward before crashing into the courtyard. A guard corpse broke the corvid's fall, which landed directly onto the dead man's torso before flopping to the ground. Opening his eyes, Malphas screamed with disgust when he came face to face with the decapitated head of one of his fallen men as he scrambled back in fear.
"GRAUGH! Insignificant mooks!" Malphas cursed, standing back up and kicking the head into a wall out of anger only for the head to bounce off of the said wall before returning back to Malphas, clonking him in the noggin.
"Ack!" He shouted with minor pain, rubbing his cranium while unsheathing the terror trowel. "Alright, No matter. Perhaps you goons will be of use to me a second time…"
Malphas called upon stone blocks, rock chunks, or whatever debris that once comprised the fortress were piled on top of the surrounding knight corpses. The more fallen material was added to these mounds, the more they began to form into vague, rudimentary shapes of a biped. These statue-like figures rose from the ground, hobbling slightly to properly maintain their lumbering frame. Looking upon his army of semi-undead, Malphas chortled with psychotic exuberance while his opponents looked up with aghast expressions from this squadron of abominations he had given life.
"...What the fuck is with this guy!?" Angel cried out with bewilderment.
"Angel, I'm pretty sure you should already know that by now." Vaggie groaned, readying her spear for combat.
The golems were all dispatched into battle, trudging after their targets while the ground shook beneath their feet. Oogar smashed his foot against the ground, letting a stone wall protrude from the ground as he kicked it forward. The stonewall was sent careening across the courtyard, slamming into the first golem only for the semi-undead knight to stop the moving rock panel with one hand before effortlessly decimating it with a swing of its fist.
Angel made no hesitation to spray down the approaching golems with a torrent of hot lead, the bullets chipping at their stony exteriors but it didn't do much to impede the army. The spider demon flung himself to the side to evade the jab of a golem's arm that was comprised of a bolt. The sharp edge of its 'arm' ended getting stuck in the ground, leading to Vaggie cleaving it apart with one fell swoop.
Even the amputation of an arm didn't hinder the golem's animation, as it simply struck at Vaggie with its other arm. The Latina narrowly dodged being crushed by the golem while Oogar created a second wall, rather than sending it out though, he placed the palms of his hands against the flat surface. By pushing hands against it, spikes began to form along the wall before being fired into the calvacade of semi-undead soldiers. The mini projectiles managed to halt the golems slightly while even managing to reach Malphas, who was scathed by the bullets in an attempt to dodge.
"RRGGGH... DIE, YOU ABSENT-MINDED TROGLODYTE!" Malphas cried, raising the terror trowel and spinning it around in a circular movement. Eight tiles of embrasures were ripped from their current position and flew to their summoner, orbiting over the raven demon in a ring-like formation. Malphas continued to wave the trowel, increasing the speed of his arm which corresponded in the tile ring spinning around at a dangerous rate. Once the orbiting tiles reached their maximum speed, Malphas sent out the buzzsaw-like projectile as it whizzed through the air, aiming to slice the Neanderthal in half.
Oogar was occupied with fighting off two golems, smashing through one in the chest region and ripping the knight corpse from it, resulting in the rest of the undead sentinel collapsing into a rock mound. Vaggie took notice of the tile ring pivoting towards the behemoth but was forced to do battle with one of the golems, blocking off a swing of its gigantic fist with the shaft of her spear.
"OOGAR, WATCH YOUR LEFT!" Vaggie screamed in an effort to alert the caveman. Her message succeeded in warranting Oogar's attention, the giant turning his head to give witness to the orbiting tiles speeding towards him. Realizing that he didn't have the time needed to dodge the saw-like projectile, the best he could do was bring up his arms to protect his face and chest from being cut open. Just as it seemed the caveman was about to be cleaved in two, the rotating tiles came to an abrupt halt, continuing to spin midair.
"W-WHAT!?" Malphas shouted, stunned and confused by this turn of events that had left him, and even Vaggie for that matter, baffled. Opening his eyes, Oogar was taken by surprise by the orbiting shingles that ceased at his will. At first, the caveman was shocked at this revelation but returned his focus into battle as he dispersed the orbiting tile saw into a singular trail. Oogar sent six of the eight tiles into Malphas's direction while the remaining two hovered above the caveman's shoulders.
Pointing the terror trowel to the curtain wall, Malphas carved a verticle line across the stony exterior before letting the wall curve right in front of him. This blocked off the tiles in front of him as they shattered into dust against its broad exterior before bending back into their original position. Utilizing the last two tiles to his advantage, Oogar buried his hands into the soil to obtain earth gauntlets with a large slit around the knuckle area. Each tile inserted itself into the slits, tipping the gauntlets with blades that jutted from earth gloves.
Now armed, Oogar made no hesitation to charge to the nearest golem and struck it in the stomach before it could bring down its arm. Thanks to the tiles embedded in his gauntlets, the caveman effortlessly dug his fist into the stone exterior and punched a gaping hole right into the fleshy skeleton that constituted the golem's mass. Oogar didn't stop there as he viciously laid into slashed into the golem's core before successfully tearing the golem apart, the bisected halves of the golem crumbling to the ground.
Angel, meanwhile, was weaving around four golems that lurched after the arachnid. Problem was that he was far too slippery and nimble, easily sliding out of their reach with graceful movements. The spider demon managed to climb onto the back of one of the golems, knocking on it's head in a joking manner.
"Oh boooyssss!~" The Slutty Spider taunted, garnering the attention of the other three golems. Angel hastily dismounted from the semi-undead soldier, who accidentally swung its own fist onto its head. It wasn't long before the three other golems tackled their fellow man to the ground, all four of them collapsed into a big mound while their target ran off, laughing his head off.
Vaggie clashed her spear against the bolt of a blade-armed golem, the Latina showing a surprising amount of strength to keep its arm elevated. However, the golem stumbled forward and got its arm stuck in the soil when Vaggie brought down her blade and stepped to the side. Running across the bolt right before the golem could do anything. It's exposed 'head' was then pierced by the spear's tip. With a labored pull, Vaggie wrenched the corpse from the golem's body. Sending the carcass off to the side before letting the craggy remains drop to the ground.
Suddenly, the last remaining golems were ambushed by ebony tendrils that emerged from the ground and wrapped themselves around the reanimated soldiers. The tentacles made themselves taunt, gradually squeezing what semblance of life that these statue-like beings held before subsequently being crushed into pebbles while the corpses inhabiting these craggy shells shoot out from their stony armor.
"Sincere apologies, everyone! What did I miss?" A grainy-sounding voice chimed in, everyone turned their heads to see Alastor stepping into sight with his cane tucked behind his back.
"Oh, there you are. Where in the seven fuckin' circles where ya?!" Angel yelled out in frustration at the Radio Demon's absence.
"Just needed to take a temporary break from the madness, an overlord needs his rest after all!"
Malphas's face reddened from the destruction of his golem army, sputtering nonsensical gibberish under his beak. This fight had driven him to complete madness and no matter what he threw at these sinners, they just kept popping back up like cockroaches. However, glancing over to his tower, it seemed as though Malphas might have found what he needed to get rid of these interlopers. Hopping onto a stone block platform and levitating it off the ground with the trowel, Malphas flew over to where his donjon stood while glaring down at his adversary with a seething glower.
"I've had it…" Malphas said with a harrowed breath.
"I'VE HAD IT WITH ALL OF YOU SINNER DOGS! I WILL KILL YOU ALL! KILL YOU ALL! KILL YOU ALL TO DEATH! KEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Malphas broke down with laughter, elevating his arm with the terror trowel held high above his head. The shovel blade emitted its lavender aura and from it, the donjon behind him was begging to rumble on its own. A line began to crave itself around the midpoint of the tower, engraving itself along the stone until a perfectly circular line was chiseled into the donjon.
Viewing this from the courtyard, Oogar and Vaggie could only dread what this conniving corvid was up to now. Their fears were answered when the donjon's upper half was starting to lift itself onto its own, floating from its lower section before taking to the crimson skies. An enormous shadow swallowed the fortress, leaving the two demons in the darkness. Vaggie was petrified from the sight of the donjon's upper half blocking off sunlight while Oogar tensed up, his pupil shrinking the haunting sight.
"WHAT. THE. FUCK!?" Were the only words Angel could only muster while Alastor cupped his chin in curiosity.
"Okay," The Radio Demon said, slightly baffled. "THAT'S entertaining."
"TO THE SECONDARY AFTERLIFE WITH YOU, ANIMALS!" The raven squawked, letting the tower's upper half drop down onto his opponents. Spectating the ordeal with murderous joy, just the thought of his foes being squashed like bugs. As the donjon grew closer, the group planned to escape from the falling danger.
However, Oogar's fearful expression turned to a hard look as he nudged Vaggie to get her attention. The Hispanic demoness turned to the giant, looking him in the eyes. She could see the focus and determination that burned in the caveman's gaze. Though it seemed their only solution was to run away, they both knew that they wouldn't let something like this hinder their steps to bringing Malphas to justice.
"FUCK, I'M OUTTA HERE!" Angel said, sprinting off in the opposite direction.
"I suppose I could give this the ol' tendril routin-" Right before Alastor could handle this, Vaggie suddenly climbed onto Oogar's back as the caveman created a pillar that pushed him high into the air with a singular stomp. Alastor watched as the spire carried Oogar to the falling tower section, looking on with amazement.
"...Or that too! Works for me!" Alastor commented.
Malphas anticipated hearing the loud boom and the screams of his adversaries, knowing that it would be more than enough to make his day. But his crazed elation morphed into confusion when he saw the donjon's upper half somehow remain motionless in mid-air. Malphas was baffled by this at first but only one conclusion was drawn from this startling turn. Beneath the several tons of limestone, the tower was hoisted high above Oogar's head with his muscular arms supporting a mountainous structure. The caveman grunted from the colossal weight, putting as much backbone as he could into keeping the donjon's upper section elevated.
Over the caveman's head laid an aperture that was big enough for Vaggie to squeeze into as the hotel manager leaped from Oogar's shoulders and wriggled her way into the tower's window. From the aperture, Vaggie gave Oogar a thumbs up before slinking back into the tower. With the 'ok' given, the Mammoth demon chucked the tower's upper half with a powerful pitch that sent the structure flying off into the sky like a space shuttle taking off.
On the receiving end of the tower, Malphas acted with haste as he took aim of the terror trowel and began carving a hole through the roof as to hollow out the structure so it could pass him by. Thanks to perforation, the tower passed through him as Malphas continued to hollow out the donjon floor after floor. But what he wasn't expecting when reaching the third floor was a fist to the face to the face courtesy of Vaggie. One that launched him through the hole of the ceiling while his opponent sprang after him.
"SURPRISE, BITCH!" Vaggie roared at the top of her lungs, snatching Malphas by the neck with a vice grip. Pivoting herself and her foe into the opposite direction, Vaggie pushed herself through the ceiling cavity and into the stony floor, using the raven demon's own body to smash straight through it. Upon completing this feat of destruction, the two had made it out from the hollowed-out bottom of the tower and now found themselves dropping from the air. Grabbing at Vaggie's wrist, Malphas wrenched Vaggie's hands from his neck before taking aim of his trowel.
"CLASSLESS WHORE, WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY!?" He cursed with frustrations, preparing to drag the donjon down onto his source of annoyance. However, right as he could, the corvid's ears picked up on a distinct roar that was coming up close from behind. Cocking his head, he was met with Oogar soaring at him at high speeds. Screeching with terror, Malphas jerked his body to the side to avoid a gorilla-like paw smashing into his face. This evasion didn't deter Oogar, who jerked himself into the raven's direction and began to viciously throw punch after punch.
Malphas was lucky enough to dodge the caveman's aggressive strike before he laid a cheeky slash across Oogar's arm, making the beast growl with pain. Malphas grinned slightly at the neanderthal's plight but this would not last for he was taken by surprise when Vaggie slid over the caveman's head and drove her knee His opera mask flew from the skull-rattling impact before the corvid plummeted back into the ground below.
Vaggie fell after him, grabbing the raven demon by his collar before slugging him right in the eye, bruising it in the process. Malphas wasn't going to let this beating happen as he retaliated with a scratch to the cheek with a flicker of his claws. This gave way to both demons duking it out in mid-air, not even caring that they were falling from a dangerous height.
Their descension came to an abrupt halt when Malphas landed back-first on a battlement, followed by Vaggie slamming both feet into the corvid's chest. A few ribs were cracked from the double-heeled stomp and a wheeze was drawn from Malphas's beak. Just a couple of feet away, the donjon came falling down onto its lower half upon which it was decimated on the spot. A great dust cloud roared exploded throughout the fortress while the nearby walls were torn down from the weightful impact. What was once a proud fortified was now turned into a wasteland holding little more than fallen rock and corpses.
Oogar managed to catch himself onto the battlement's embrasures, pulling himself onto the battlement where Malphas was pinned. Vaggie removed her feet from Malphas's torso as the raven slowly but surely brought himself back onto his feet. An uneasy tension loomed throughout the battered area, the only form of noise was the rugged breathing of all three combatants, the harrowing after-effects of the battle beginning to take their toll.
"You... ready to give up?..." Vaggie said with an exhausted breath, struggling to stay standing. Her comment did little more than to anger Malphas past the point of his illogical, libido-fueled rage could go.
"Never... NEVER!... I'll give up when I see your corpses laying dead at my feet. I will not rest until every single one of you sinner dogs are put down in A GREAT ROARING FI-"
"MALPHAS!"
A bright flash of hellfire exploded out of thin air, gaining the attention of all three combatants who gazed yonder to the source of the fiery luminescence and the thunderous call. Hovering above the battlefield was Charlie, her wings outspread while behind her was a glowing vortex, it was unclear where the portal lead due to her wings blocking off a good portion of the view.
"And look how finally shows herself after hiding in the shadows. Don't worry, I have big plans for a treacherous whore like you..." Malphas growled, hitting Charlie with a hateful glower that made his disdain crystal clear. Instead of reacting with fear to his threat, Charlie's ebony lips formed into a smirk.
It wasn't long before she began to holler with mocking laughter, throwing her head back and closing her eyes. Charlie was laughing to such a degree that tears started rolling down her rosy cheeks. Malphas was about to scream his head off from this display of insolence, another laughing fit made itself known. Vaggie, too, joined in on this unexpected guffaw while Oogar looked on with confusion, unable to find the humor to be found in this ordeal. Nonetheless, the caveman shrugged and laughed anyway.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP ALL OF YOU! WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WADS OF CERBERUS SHIT FIND SO DAMN FUNNY!?" Malphas yelled with rage.
"You know, it's funny how you think you're winning in this scenario," Vaggie said with a chuckle. "Especially when you've already lost."
"Haha! Yeah, we win!" Oogar shouted with triumph before leaning over to Vaggie. "Err... How we win again?..."
"HA! All you absent-minded ingrates are delusional to think you had bested me!? I already have you three cornered and I can easily destroy all of you!" Malphas declared, tooting his horn for the umpteenth time.
"Oh yeah? Why don't you have a look?" Charlie said, descending to the ground so that Malphas could see just what she was hiding behind the portal. What confidence Malphas had remaining was thrown out of the window altogether when he saw what laid beyond the vortex. From the flaming gateway, Niffty and Husk were seen hauling entire bags of brain-washing film reels and raven drones, along with the hostages all safely sprawled out in the main hotel lobby.
"W-WHAT!? I... WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?" Malphas cried, Niffty greeting the Goetia with a joyful wave.
"Oh, hey Mr. Bird Brains! Don't mind us, we're just exposing all of the incriminating secrets to Charlie's dad!" Niffty said with a giggle. In an act of desperation, Malphas attempted to reach the portal only to be knocked back by a fireball launched from Charlie's palm, forcing the terror trowel to fly out of his grasp while the wormhole closed off.
"It certainly took some time but it's all the more worth it." Charlie said with a cocksure chuckle. "Vaggie certainly took a risk and I cannot thank her enough for her dedication."
"Aw, babe. Quit flattering, we're still in the middle of a fight~" Vaggie said with a blush while Malphas felt the crushing blow of the revelation. He realized that Vaggie hadn't attacked him out of anger, it was just lure him away so that the rest could sneak evidence to Lucifer. A trick that he had taken the bait for, one that was concocted by sinners.
"Y-you mean to tell me that... THAT HARPY WAS DISTRACTING ME THIS WHOLE TIME!?" The corvid said, baffled by how he was played like a pawn in this deceitful game.
"Mhm, You fell for the hook and line," Vaggie commented, folding her arms. "What follows is the sinker."
"A-AND...AND... THAT FUCKING PREHISTORIC LUMMOX WAS HORNSWOGGLING ME AS WELL!?" Malphas shrieked, pointing a feather at the lumbering mammoth demon.
"Oh no, Oogar had zero part in this whole plan. But I'd say him stepping in actually worked out in the grand scheme of things so thanks a lot, big guy." The Hotel Manager said, giving Oogar a pat on the back.
"Yes! Oogar helped!" The caveman said, raising his arms in victory. Malphas was in a state of shellshock, he had nothing to say. No snide comments, no brash claims, nothing. He had fallen for the trap and as far as his crimes went, there was nothing he could possibly say or excuse himself out of the grave he had dug himself in.
"It's all over for you, Malphas. There's no use in fighting..." Charlie said, manifesting her pitchfork out of flames. "Either you step down and accept punishment or you won't like what happens..."
Malphas was speechless, he just couldn't comprehend the sickening blow that he had been dealt. Years of scheming, engineering, meticulous work, and boot kissing all flashed before his very eyes. The very foundation that he had built was now burning to the ground and it was all thanks to the beguiling princess that he had yearned for and her brigade of sinners, one of which had stolen her affection.
"The one I love declines my affection... My fortress is in shambles... My reputation is crumbling to dust... My life as I know it burns to smolders... And above all else, I've been fooled by... dirty... ROTTEN... FILTHY FUCKING SINNER PIGS!" Malphas clenched his shaking hands, his body trembled with despair and rage.
"How... HOW!? HOW!? HOW COULD THIS FUCKING BE?!" The raven shrieked at the top of his lungs, viciously punching the ground to a point of bruising his fists.
"HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN PLAYED A FOOL MY SOMETHING SO MINUSCULE, I SHOULD'VE ALREADY SEEN SUCH A HAREBRAINED SCHEME LIKE THIS HAPPEN! THIS IS INCONCEIVABLE! LUDICROUS! INCOMPREHENSIBLE! ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT! I'M THE SMARTEST THERE IS, I SHOULDN'T BE HOODWINKED BY VILE SINNER TRASH!"
"But you did." Charlie chimed in, her hands clutching her hips in a condescending manner that only served to anger the corvid to greater heights.
"That's the thing with people like you, Malphas," Vaggie spoke up, her words burning with fiery resolve.
"You may act like you're above everyone, with your armies, robots, and magical gardening equipment. Thinking less of people that you ridicule just because they're different from you. However, you lost the moment you tried to intervene. All you did was give us a paper trail and knowing how much an egotist you are, deceiving you was much easier. You were wrapped up in your own arrogance that you only followed what your hubris told you and nothing more." She continued, stepping forward with her spear proudly tucked in her clutches.
"This fire burning your whole life down? You provided the kindling. All we had to do was light the match." The spearwoman said with a glare as Malphas snapped his head over to her, ragged breaths drawn from his beak. Wrath took hold of his conscious, what rationality, if there was any for that manner, the raven had left had disappeared entirely.
"If my reputation goes under, then..." Without a warning, Malphas leaped at Vaggie with his claws ready to slice into her flesh. "THEN I MIGHT AS WELL DRAG ALL OF YOU DOWN WITH ME! LUCIFER HIMSELF WON'T SAVE YOU FROM MY UNYIELDING WRATH! DIE LIKE THE FUCKING SWINE YOU ALL ARE! THIS IS YOUR END!"
Furrowing his brow and huffing annoyance, Oogar took a singular step towards the lunging corvid and snapped his right arm out. With perfect timing and reflexes, the giant caught the smaller demon in mid-air. Malphas's windpipe was almost crushed by the iron grip of the neanderthal, who looked him dead in the eye with a scornful look that haunted the Goetia's nightmares.
"No." Oogar firmly declared, tightening his grasp that squeezed what little air remained in the Goetia's arm. A pathetic squeak was all that could be vocally produced from him.
"This is your end."
Oogar loosened his grip around Malphas's neck, letting him slip through his hands. Cracking his other arm back, Oogar threw a leviathan-sized punch aimed for the raven demon's chest. Malphas was struck dead center in the torso with the impact of an oncoming truck, his glass-thin ribcage shattered into pieces with a sickening 'CRACK'. The caveman's blow propelled Malphas's body in Charlie's direction, who greeted the flying raven with a hellfire-induced uppercut that launched him several feet into the air. A visible burn mark was left on his submental space.
Gravity pulled down on Malphas as he came careening to the ground but his assailants weren't going to let him get off that easy. Vaggie readied her leg, tensing up for her moment to shine. The moment in question was to kick Malphas where the sun doesn't shine.
And kick she did!
THWAKKKK!...
The pain Malphas underwent in that kick to his groin had reached a ginormous magnitude that eclipsed all of his past injuries in the duration of this battle. His eyes shrunk, his jaw swung wide open, every male within a five-mile radius felt an unseen disturbance and a future bloodline of the Ars Goetia Family had been eradicated though not like that it was bound to exist in all honesty. Applying pressure to her kick, Malphas was once again jettisoned into the unfriendly skies, nearly reaching the stratosphere. The three demons all had their heads up at the sky, pondering if that was enough.
"I think we can do more, what do you say?" Vaggie brought up, cupping her chin.
"Yeah."
"Ditto!"
With this agreement in mind, Charlie's wings materialized from her back before taking off like a majestic hawk soaring off into the mountains. Oogar gave the ground a hard stomp, propelling himself and Vaggie high into the air, following the demonic princess behind. Malphas screamed the whole journey in the crimson firmament, where the moon shone its unkind rays upon the falling corvid. When he came falling back, Malphas's terror had reached a high point where saw Charlie flying towards him with her pitchfork in hand. The raven didn't have time to process when three incisions ran across his face in a diagonal formation, it felt as though the wind itself had abraded his mug.
Charlie wasn't alone, Vaggie was the second to land a blow on the bloodied raven. Lodging her knee right into the corvid's stomach that resulted in his body spinning about in the air. Finally, Oogar came next and with another bone-shattering punch that soared into Malphas's jaw, dislocating his beak. The mandible snapping in the opposite direction, fragments of keratin breaking off from the beak. And to think that this beating wasn't even over yet.
As his body descended further, so did the trio as all three of them collectively recoiled their fists back and struck all at once. This culminated in a painful ringing that overtook Malphas's eardrums and blackened his eyes, further disfiguring his face. Oxygen around them started to ignite from the sheer momentum of their descent but this didn't halt the onslaught. It kept going to a point where Malphas's senses almost dulled out by the pain of each blow still left him in a perpetual state of agony.
SSHKSHSKHSKHSHKSSHKSHSKHSKHSHKSSHKSHSKHSKHSHKSSHKSHSKHSKHSHKSSHKSHSKHSKHSHKS
The bite of a Spearwoman's blade.
FYYYYYYWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMSCH...!
The agonizing fire of a Princess.
BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM
The savage punch of a Neanderthal.
Each demon came swooping in one unrelenting strike after the other, to a point where Malphas was seeing a whole army of his adversaries attacking him everywhere all at once. The Raven Demon's bones were turned to dust, his limbs snapped like twigs, and his flesh was a monument of bruises and scars alike. Malphas couldn't even scream at this rate, all that he could produce were sickly groans.
As they approached the tower waiting for them below, the three demons collectively reeled back for one final devastating attack.
Not before bidding the raven an unpleasant valediction that is with their own words of parting.
"FLY ON, PRETTY BIRD!"
THRAWKCCKK!...
With their combined might, all concentrated into one cataclysmic blow, Malphas's ragdoll-like corpse flew straight into the epicenter of the ward. A great crater formed along the stony floor while guard corpses and all sorts of rubble were scattered about a messy hailstorm. As for the trio, Oogar was the first to land on the battlement feet first, due to his weight and momentum, the tower began to collapse underneath him. However, Oogar kept himself elevated from the ground by creating a pillar that shot out from the earth, taking the crumbling tower's place.
The caveman proceeded to outspread his arms, Charlie gracefully landing onto the caveman's shoulders with both legs. She brought up her hands over her head, pressing them together. Within seconds, Vaggie landed in her cupped palm with an elegant pose.
"Now THAT is what you call a stunning finale." The Demonic Princess said with a huff while Oogar shifted his feet against the pillar's flat top, resulting in the spire into the earth. Once they reached ground level, Charlie and Vaggie jumped off of Oogar's shoulders and marched to the smoking crater where Malphas was sprawled in the epicenter, smoke wafting off of his battered body while soot and ash caked his clothes. The two stepped into the crater while Oogar followed behind, joining his caretakers as Vaggie reached down and grabbed the raven by the collar.
"So, had enough yet? We'll keep at it until there's nothing left of you." Vaggie said, the corvid responding with a weak croak.
"A-alright... I admit defeat. You have me c-cornered, I'll stand down... And... A-and accept my punishment accordingly..." Malphas ushered out between breaths, moving one of his hands onto Vaggie's forearm.
"But before you apprehend me, there is one thing I must say..." Malphas said before a small orb-like object that resembled a lantern slid out from his right sleeve and into his clutches.
"I ALWAYS have a trick up my sleeve!" He shouted with a cackle before pushing Vaggie with all the strength left in his body.
"WAIT, WHA-"
Right before the three could react, Malphas violently chucked the circular device against the floor resulting in a loud explosion that neither of them was in a position to react to. The explosion went off in a blinding flicker of light that left Charlie and Oogar in a daze while Vaggie fell over, their vision was enveloped by pure whiteness while a painful ring buzzed in their eardrums.
Fortunately, this optical and auricular assault wouldn't last for the whiteness was beginning to fade away alongside the ungodly ringing. Vaggie rubbed her eyes, letting loose a loud gasp for breath.
"D-dammit! That feathery fuckbag pulled a fast one on us..." She said before turning her head into the direction of where Malphas stood, only to be left in shock when she discovered that the corvid was nowhere in sight.
"No... NO! FUCK! NO!" Vaggie shouted with rage, darting several yards forward before wildly surveying the courtyard for a feather, a droplet of blood, anything. But nothing turned up, it was as though he had disappeared from existence entirely. This filled Vaggie with an indescribable rage as she screamed out with fury, seething by the fact that Malphas managed to weasel his way out with such a cheap tactic.
"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT! WE HAD HIM ON A FUCKING PLATTER, I... FUCK!" Words failed to properly describe Vaggie's rage, it had gotten to a point where she was now ripping handfuls of her own hair out of her scalp. Charlie sprinted over to her girlfriend to comfort her, gently rubbing her back and shoulders to ease the tension.
"Don't worry, Vaggie. We still have the evidence against him, we'll have all of Hell after him." Charlie reassured her, Vaggie sighed with exasperation in response.
"I... I know that but I wanted to bring him to justice! That asshole managed to squeeze his way to safety by the last second!" She cried out, clenching her fists which were now violently shaking.
Stepping out from the scorched cavity, Oogar planned to give Vaggie an embrace to calm her down when a peculiar scent found its way into his nostrils. Utilizing his hunter instincts, Oogar craned his neck up and began to sniff the air, turning to the direction of where this smokey aroma was generating from. There, laid a gateway that had been hiding in plain sight from the group.
"It's not fair! We had him and now he's gone!" Vaggie angrily lamented.
"No." Oogar said, just loud enough for his caretakers to hear him. They all turned to see the caveman pointing at the gateway. "He's still here"
Dragging his bloodied body to the nearest exit just off to the side, Malphas struggled to fight through the overwhelming pain that overtook his whole body. Ragged breathes sputtered out from his beak as he pressed onwards with a frail slither. It was a miracle that he had survived this whole ordeal in the first place.
"I...I managed to slip away..." Malphas wheezed to himself aloud, hauling himself further to the front gate as he wriggled past the corpses of his fallen men but he thought little of the mangled guards that littered the ward. Seeing them more as obstacles hindering his escape.
"This... This is not good..." The corvid gagged, spitting a wad of blood out as it smattered onto the cobblestone floor.
"My reputation, my fortress, my density that I had fought so hard for... All of it in shambles because of that rosy-cheeked concubine and her cavalcade of invasive neanderthals..." He cursed aloud with biting contempt, hacking out his words with sickly coughs. "No matter, I'll just escape to the farthest rings of hell and start back from square one. I just need to leave the Pride Ring and soon, I shall perpetrate my righteous vengeance upon the scoundrels that had dragged to the abyss..."
Malphas's harrowed scowl morphed into that of a disgusting smirk, his mind racing with the various ways that he could wreak his unholy vengeance against the hotel and the pain that he would inflict on all of them.
"THEY WILL ALL TREMBLE BEFORE THE MIGHT THAT IS LORD MALPHA-"
"Going somewhere, little birdie?" The taunting voice of the radio demon buzzed in the corvid's ears, his nefarious grin warped back into a frozen grimace as the heel of Alastor's cane was jabbed into his spine's thoracic region. Pinning him against the ground, looking down upon the corvid with a hungry look that wasn't far off to a predator having bagged its prey.
"Sorry chum, but I can't allow you shambling away! Especially after hearing what you did..." Alastor menacingly jeered, leaning against his cane.
"GRAUGH!... Why should... you care!?" Malphas coughed, his arms and legs flailing about in a meager attempt to free himself. "You're a filthy backwoods cannibal!..."
"Oh, that is true but I'm not the bigoted stalker here, aren't I?~" Alastor taunted, the rest of the group surrounding the downed raven.
"Well, well... What did ol' Strawberry Pimp bag us?" Angel chuckled with sadistic pleasure, cracking all four of his knuckles. Alastor glanced at the spider demon with a faltering smile, slightly miffed by that nickname.
"You're lucky I've got bigger fish to fry otherwise I'd be frying you right now." Alastor said muttered aloud.
"Cool it, Al. It ain't the worst thing I called ya. Anyways, looks to me that Chuck left a few of your bones intact there, eh? Let's fix that..." Angel said, kneeling down to Malphas's level. Terror washed over the corvid as the hotel residents all began to gang up on the defenseless Goetia. Right as a second gruesome beating was about to commence, a new voice chimed into the scene.
"Settle down their chums, that wretch is my burden to bear. Not yours."
The air itself went still from the voice, both Angel and Alastor's eyes widened with bewilderment while Malphas felt breathless for he knew the demon that had stepped into this ordeal. The Radio Demon and the Slutty Spider both spun in the direction from where they heard him call out and lo and behold, Lucifer himself was approaching them. A stern look in his eyes while accompanying Hell's Ruler was Niffty and Husk.
"Hiya, fellas!" Niffty said, waving her colleagues.
"Gentlemen, If you may." Lucifer calmly said, the sinners following the hellish monarch's wishes as they both stepped away from the raven demon. Oogar rushed into the scene, following the scent while Charlie and Vaggie tailed him from behind only to come to a screeching halt when Lucifer came into eyeshot.
"D-Dad!" Charlie spoke up, her father cocking his head over to her.
"Ah, Charlie, dearest! Give your father a moment, he's a bit occupied at the moment." Hell's King said before directing his attention back to the Goetia with an ice-cold scowl. Malphas flipped himself onto his back, staring the demonic lord dead in the eye. The corvid was on the precipice of heaving from the haunting aura that his superior carried, dread hung over Malphas like a swelling billow of dark clouds in an encroaching thunderstorm. The raven could only pray that by some miracle, be it dumb luck or not, he could wriggle free from this calamitous ordeal.
"Now, Malphas..." Lucifer said, his tone dangerously calm. "Care to tell me what in the FUCK were you doing?"
"N-n-now my liege, I know there have been some... damning accusations that have been brought to your attention! B-b-but rest assured that you have the wrong idea about all this!" Malphas nervously sputtered out, a panicked grin was etched on his face while beads of sweat ran down his forehead. Lucifer cocked a brow at Malphas's statement, a dark shadow forming over the fallen angel's face while piercing eyes gleamed upon the shivering corvid.
"Do go on, Malphas. After hearing that you have been spying on my daughter from every nook and cranny that was invisible to her, involving yourself in unruly activities that a Goetia has no business in involving yourself in, and your scheme to turn my beloved Charlie into a mindless zombie, I am quite curious as to what you have to say..." Lucifer growled, Malphas trying to reply to him only to spout out nonsensical blabber.
"Well, talk! I'm listening, Malphas. I'm waiting for you to make your case. Spit it out, you're on the spotlight, what perchance can convince me to NOT eviscerate you from your gullet to your groin!" Lucifer snapped, leaning forward to a point where all Malphas could see was the fallen angel's wicked glare. "TELL ME THIS INSTANT!"
"Now this is entertaining..." Alastor quietly said to himself, making sure that his comment didn't interrupt the flow of the quarrel.
"I-I-I... I was just... trying to protect you!" The corvid fearfully peeped, finally managing his response. "It was all for the greater good! Don't you see that your daughter is in a relationship that wretched harpy that insults our vision with her very presence!? I was making sure that Magne Bloodline wasn't tainted by such a worthless ingrate!"
"Te patearé la verga, perra emplumada..." Vaggie muttered in her native tongue.
"And lest we forget about that hotel and other freaks she associates herself! A syphilitic pornstar, an alcoholic gambler, a neurotic gremlin, that filthy neanderthal, and the bloody Radio Demon himself. Only I could have helped her from these down-trodden wretches!" Malphas proclaimed in his defense.
"Compelling statement. But, you are aware that these associates of hers were not only willing to fight on her behalf, but they all worked together in order to expose the many misconducts that are under your very name. If anything, even the Bloody Radio Demon has more standards than you!" The King of Hell retorted, the corvid almost perplexed by his superior's words.
"M-My lord, you... You can't be serious!" Malphas cried out. "Am I hearing this right?! You're willing to let Charlie bring shame and embarrassment to your name with that idiotic establishment of hers!? And more than that! You're willing to let your daughter waste her life with that... ANIMAL!?" Malphas cried out, pointing a finger at Vaggie, who felt her blood boil with anger from being called out in such a disrespectful manner. Lucifer's glare lessened before he glance over to Charlie.
"As inane as the redemption concept sounds, my daughter is free to forge her own path," Lucifer answered, turning his head back to Malphas, returning his fiery gaze.
"Besides, she has standards. Charlie would never waste a second with a disgusting backstabber such as yourself. This palace might as well be a Zoo because the way I see it, you're the animal here..." Lucifer snarled, poking his cane against Malphas, who shuddered with terror.
"W-wait, you mean all that dad?" Charlie spoke up, gaining the attention of her father.
"Why, of course, my dear!" Lucifer said, his tone shifting from murderous rage to delight reassurance. While he was distracted, however, Malphas saw this as a window of opportunity to scramble away. A window that was promptly closed shut when Lucifer reached down and stifled Malphas by his neck with a vice grip.
"While I can't say for sure that I'm one hundred percent on board with the hotel and your redemption plan, but I can assure you that, even if we have our disagreements, you still are my daughter. Disowning you for doing what you think is best would be unlawful of me." Lucifer said with a compassionate smile, still strangling the life out of the raven demon. Charlie was stunned by her father's words, she was incapable of managing a proper response. She was choked up from his response, struggling to hold back tears.
"D-Dad, I... I have no idea what to say." Charlie managed out, her voice sounded trembling while her features produced a big yet quivering smile. "Thank you so much."
"Anything for you, my candy apple. Oh! And one more thing, Vaggie, right?" Lucifer said, setting his attention on the spearwoman, who felt a slight worry come over her when put into the spotlight.
"Allow me tell you that if you were wed my daughter, you have my righteous blessings!" The fallen angel exclaimed, Vaggie's eyes widening from this approbation.
"What?..." Vaggie said, her face blushing as red as a tomato.
"WHAT!?" Malphas screeched, his raspy voice almost breaking glass.
"Haha! Not a problem my dear, besides..." Lucifer replied, his eyes flicking over to the cowering Malphas. "Wouldn't want any filthy animals leaving you as a dry desert now..."
"Daaaaad!" The Demonic Princess whined with embarrassment, covering her face.
"Ooooh, get fuckin' smoked you feathery fuck!" Angel chimed into this conversation with a boisterous laugh followed by an 'OOOOH!' from Niffty.
"Haha! Well, I'd love to sit down and talk with you one day, Vaggie but I'll be relatively busy for a little while. I hope you can understand my dear. Until then, continue to brighten Charlie with every passing day!" Lucifer exclaimed, tapping his cane against the cobblestone floor resulting in a circle of fire to encompass both the fallen angel and the terrified Goetia, the latter of whom hectically flapped his wings about to escape. His erratic movements sent ebony feathers in every which way.
"I would like that, King Magne." Vaggie said with a bright smile and nod.
"THIS... THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" Malphas spoke up, swiping at the air as he attempted to make a rush for the Hispanic demoness only for Lucifer to snag him by the yoke of his collar.
"I WILL NOT LET YOU DEFY SOMEONE AS PERFECT AS PRINCESS CHARLIE! I WILL TEAR TO PIECES YOU LITTLE WHORE! YOU'LL BE SCREAMING LIKE A-" Malphas's threat was cut short when Lucifer delivered a swift chop to his head, resulting in his body dropping to the ground. Right before he could make an attempt in getting back up, Lucifer stomped on Malphas's legs. Delivering enough force to render them immobile before grabbing at his arms and pulling at them to a point where they collectively dislocated with an audible 'POP'.
"AUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGH!" Malphas cried out with agony, lying limp on the stony grounds while the whole group watched in terrified astonishment.
"Like a little bitch?" Lucifer jeered, finishing Malphas's sentence.
"Do that to me, Apple daddy..." Angel quietly murmured under his breath.
"Well, I suppose I best be going. You all take care and enjoy the rest of the day, though I'll be keeping an eye on you Alastor." Lucifer gestured to the Radio Demon, cocking a brow.
"Fine with me, your majesty..." Alastor answered, giving the fallen angel a bow in response.
"Oh! And before I go, remember Charlie! You don't take shit from other demons!" Lucifer proclaimed with an exuberant guffaw.
"See! I told you that he always says that!" Charlie giggled aloud, nudging Vaggie slightly.
"Now then, I bid you adieu, you lovely bunch!" Lucifer gave a warm and lively farewell, tipping his hat to the hotel residents, all of whom, aside from Husk, waved to the fallen angel with a few saying their goodbyes. Before leaving, Lucifer set his sights on Malphas, who was on the brink of dampening his trousers from the heated glare of his master.
"As for you, Malphas..." The King of Hell growled, smoke emitting from his voice as he reached down and clamped onto his neck. Almost wringing the life from the corvid with his iron grip, the Goetia felt his body being lifted from the ground and met the smoldering fire that dwelled in Lucifer's wrathful stare.
"You and I are going to be discussing matters in the torture chamber? Sounds fair doesn't it?~" Lucifer said, the fiery ring growing brighter as the hellish lord burst out into a menacing cackle. Horror was visible on Malphas's visage, tears rolling from his eyes as he desperately squirmed in Lucifer's clutches. But try as he might, the archfiend's wrath was inescapable and his body was in no physical shape to flee the danger. The plume of fire surrounding them grew in both size and brightness, forcing the surrounding demons to avert their eyes.
"NO! MY LIEGE! PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND UNDERSTAND ME! I WAS BUT LOYAL TO YOU SINCE DAY ONE! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, YOUR DAUGHTER NEEDS MY PROTECTION! SHE NEEDS ME. HAVE MERCY ON A POOR SOUL SUCH AS ME! PLEASE, NO-"
FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
With a radiant burst of fire, Lucifer and Malphas disappeared from the courtyard entirely. All that remained was a pentagram that singed the cobblestone grounds, ebony smoke sizzling from the ashen emblem. With the two now gone, the hotel residents were the only ones remaining in the corpse-ridden ward. Everything was silent for a few seconds until Angel spoke up, smacking his lips.
"...So, guess that's that eh?" Angel commented with an apathetic shrug. Everyone looked at each other in silence, unsure of what to do after something as chaotic as this.
"...I'm gonna go take a LONG shower when we get back." Vaggie dryly stated before turning to the fortress exit.
"WAY ahead of you there, Vaggie..." Charlie said, following her girlfriend.
"Hey, does anyone here smell roasted chicken? Because honestly, could go for some of that." The spider demon spoke up, being the third demon to leave this fortress-turned-abattoir.
"You know what... Chicken sounds good, mixed with some fine ass whiskey to boot." Husk said before he and the rest of the group turned to depart from the area and retreat back to the hotel.
"Well, what coincidence, I was thinking of treating ourselves with my mother's acclaimed Lemon chicken!" Alastor brought up with excitement.
"Oh! Oh! I can help you with it, Mr. Alastor! Sucking on the lemon wedges is the best paaart!~" Niffty added, eagerly running laps around the Radio Demon. Meanwhile, Oogar ran up to Charlie and Vaggie, looking over their shoulders.
"A-are any of you hurt? Oogar can find good dirt for wounds. Oh and rocks for trepanning..." The caveman anxiously said, examining the wounds that had been inflicted on his caretakers during their skirmish with the Goetia.
"No need to worry about us, Oogar. We can patch up when we get back to the hotel." Charlie assured while Vaggie surveyed Oogar's frame from the scars that he gathered in the conflict.
"You okay too, right? I just wanna make absolutely sure that. Y-y'know, just in case." Vaggie said, holding onto his arm, continuing to find any possible form of injury that might have been hiding from her careful eye. However, during her inspection, Oogar suddenly lifted Vaggie off of the ground and placed her onto left shoulder.
"W-woah! Hey!" Vaggie said, taken aback by this sudden piggyback ride. Charlie quietly snickered at this sight only to be scooped from the ground and situated onto Oogar's other shoulder.
"Sorry but Oogar want Vaggie and Charlie to be safe. Be their temporary legs!" Oogar declared, letting both demoness rest on his back as he made his way back to the hotel.
"Alright, big guy. If you insist!" Charlie said with a giggle, resting against the caveman's head while letting out a small yawn. However, Hell's Princess felt something brush up against her back as she turned her head over to Vaggie, lovingly smiling at her.
"Gotta say, you were quite badass out there." The Hispanic demoness said, reaching out and placing a hand on Charlie's red check. The Hotel Owner smiled back, returning the favor by putting her hand on the Latina's shoulder.
"I'd say the same thing, my brave and daring knight~" Charlie replied with a rather flirtatious tone visible in her voice. Vaggie's whole face turned red from that comment, letting loose a nervous laugh as her eye darted to the side.
"Hehe... Yeah, I guess you could say that. But that doesn't mean you weren't brave... Wait, no! I think that came out wrong! You were brave too! That's what I meant to say-" Vaggie's rambling came to end when she was suddenly pulled forward into a passionate kiss from her lover. Vaggie was almost stifled by this sudden turn of events, as though every muscle in her body went stiff. However, she came to her sense and eased into this kiss, holding her girlfriend close with the only thing dividing them was Oogar's head.
Oogar's eyes darted up to see the two demonesses sharing an affection kiss with the other, surprised slightly for he wasn't expecting this to happen. Even then, the caveman couldn't help but smile at this.
Millions of Years Ago...
Whiteness.
The world was devoured by whiteness.
Perched against a rock while the snow fell onto his body, Oogar lay motionless in the icebound canyons. His hands and feet were numb, to a point where they were starting to swell and blacken from the remorseless gelid air. His wound inflicted on his stomach had worsened as a result of the exposure to the cold air, how the adolescent was still breathing was a mystery but he wouldn't be alive for much longer.
He was all alone in this hostile world and continuing on with no guidance would be but a waste of life. His ears could only hear ringing and his vision added in and out. The last thing that Oogar saw in his final grasps of vision was the unrelenting snow scattering all around. The white world around was beginning to darken.
Suddenly, Oogar started to see something else, one that he could wriggle away from. The encroaching blackness that blurred his vision was starting to coalesce into that of a lumbering figure that appeared from the snow itself. Its skin was darker than ebony, no light could shine on this being. On top of its head looked to be a pair of horns, appearing as though a devil had crawled its way into Earth. It wasn't alone for more darkened beings crept into view, all forming around it's 'leader' as it marched towards Oogar.
With nowhere else to run or go, Oogar shut his eyes and accepted this cold fate.
