Miles Morales aka Spider-Man

Ok ok ok, I know you probably have heard this before, but still allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Miles Gonzalo Morales, and for three months I have been the one and only Spider man, well the one and only in my universe.

You see I was beaten by a radioactive spider, gained the Spiderman powers, watched the first Spiderman die, tried to be a hero but couldn't, then I met some other Spider people like me from alternate universes. They inspired me to become the hero I am today, I mean in just a few months I have done so much saving and even gained the vote of the people.

Being Spider man had made me responsible for a lot, but it was also challenging. You see being Spiderman is one thing, and being Miles Morales is another, but trying to be both? Yeah, that's where the stress comes in.

"Morales! You are late! Again!"

Screams my Geography teacher, Mrs Miley. I on the other hand stand at the door of my class room, hand still held the door handle with a tiresome look on my face.

"I am very..."

"There is no need for your excuses Mr Miles, you have been dishing out a lot lately"

"I know ma..."

"Eh eh eh" she says putting her forward in a gesture that meant that i should save my speech.

"Just sit"

And I wasted no time doing that. Brooklyn Visions School was one of the best in New York and they wanted to keep it that way, so they didn't take kindly to slacking off.

"That was a close one, she could have given you detention, or worse carried you to the principal's office." A voice besides me says in a lone tone, It was Ganke Lee's. When I turned to him his eyes widen a bit.

"Mehn, you look terrible, didn't you get any sleep?"

"Oh I did, like 20 minutes of it, after fight..."

Before I could say more Mrs Miley had started teaching. I had been about 30 mins late, so we still had about 15 mins more of her lecture. I wasn't sure I could last that long.

Miles you better not dose off! I warn myself as I noticed my eyelids trying to slip down. As if one cue Mrs Miley pauses and takes a quick stern glimpse at me. And I give her a nervous smile.

(Some time later, during recess)

I and Ganke Lee walked the school hallway, we were heading for the cafeteria.

"Mehn am exhausted, fighting those high tech thugs really took alot out of me"

"The High Tech gang? But those guys weren't strong, what would you do when someone like the Rhino comes along. Have you ever heard the saying 'if you falter at the day of your adversary your strength is small or how can you run with horses if you have run with men and fell'"

"Ganke, don't get all poetic on me and who said that?"

Lee shrugged "some guy named Isaiah I guess."

"Well he is right about one thing though, my strength is small, I need a boost" I said lazily pushing open the cafeteria door.

"You need to rest, give the hero work a rest for now"

"What..?"

Lee raises his hands "Am just saying, you know heros need rest too."

"But I just got the job"

"Exactly, and you have been working non-stop ever since."

That was true, however i still wanted to show that i was up to the task.

"You may be right Ganke, but remember with great power comes great responsibility. Maybe this is just part of Life's test to see if I can handle the responsibilities of my power, you know whaamsaying?"

"Ohh surreee" Lee sais with sarcasm. Ping! ping! went Lee's phone, he brings it out of his slide pocket to check it.

"Umm Miles?"

"Yeah?"

He turns his phone screen to me "I know what i said before, but for this case is different, you gotta go"

It was an online active i-report news. The news title and the video was a bit strange. Miles could see a green and white costumed man, which kinda looked like a spider man, but he had tentacles sprouting out from behind his back like Liz Octavious. The strange person was standing on the roof of a building. The news read STRANGE OCTOPUS MAN APPEARS OUT OF A PORTAL AND IS CALLING FOR SPIDER MAN.

"Spider man! Come out where ever you are! The Spider-Oc ordered.

"Friend of yours?"

"Nah mehn"

"Am waiting, don't keep me all day!" The Spider-Oc says

"You better get there before the cops, he is causing quite a scene"

"Yeah yeah, I know mehn" oh chico, esto no es bueno I thought to myself

(3 mins later)

I was swinging away from school to the scene when my mom called.

Miles! What is this am hearing about you missing classes.

Oh, hey mum, can I call you ba...

Care to explain to me why you are always late for class.

Now?

Yes now! (Speaks something in Spanish) you better not be sneaking out of school again, i thought we've gotten past this.

We, have mum [men swinging with one arm is really hard]. Look I will call you back mum.

Wait what's that sound I hear, are you out...

"Bye mum." Then I cut the call.

"Mehn, can't believe Mrs Miley already called my mum"

"Ok Miles get it together, that's not the worse thing" i told myself.

Immediately my phone rang. I looked at it and saw "Dad".

"Yeah am dead", I hesitated a bit before answering "Hello Dad?"

"Miles?" My Dad says in a tone that is surprisingly calm

"Hey Dad",

Where are you? Mum just sent me a text, says who've been coming late for classes, is there something wrong miles?

I then stopped at the wall of a building.

"No Dad"..my voice getting a bit lower

Cause if there is anything you know you can always talk to me.

"I know Dad. There is nothing to worry about."

So you're going to fix this?

"Yeah Dad I will, am working on it."

Ok. I love you Miles

"I love you too"

That's a Copy. Line disconnects.

Well that went better than I expected. I thought before leaping off the building.

(A while later)

The Spider Oc stood at the top of my favorite DVD shop. Like he knew that I loved the spot. I stood a couple of buildings away hiding behind a big Screen.

I wanted to surprise him with a sneak attack but first I had to confirm why he wanted to see Spider-man.
