Chapter:10 Forever Falls

Team RWBY, JNPR, RABG, andCRDL are seen walking through the infinite autumn forests of Forever Falls with Glynda leading them in the area.

"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so," She said as everyone stops.

Jaune was with his team, occasionally looking at Team CRDL as Cardin was glaring at him, since he finally decided to break their little deal off with Red and Pyrrha having to be there to make a point that they don't care about his lie.

The following days after that, Jaune began to train with Pyrrha to help with his fighting style and decided to add a pole arm in his arsenal. With a little help from Ruby, he got his new addition.

A long metal spear capable folding itself into four segments, a diamond shaped spearhead, and a white and gold banner with his emblem on it.

"Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap," Glynda said as she has jar full of it in one hand. "However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!"

"You heard her," Red said as his team were beside him with Team JNPR them. "So you guys want to come along with us, Cardin and his goons are still on the loose."

"We'll be fine, right guys?" Jaune asked his team as he has his new weapon folded on his back.

"Yeah! If they try anything, I'll break their legs!" Nora said rather happily.

"If you say so, just shout to let us know," Red said.

"We're gonna be fine Red. Jeez, we're not kids anymore," Pyrrha said to him.

"People!" Everyone look to see Blue pointing at his wrists. "Tick tock?"

"You're such a pooper you know that," Green said as she has her hands on her hips. "We still have plenty of time, it's not like the sap are going anywhere."

From that, everyone had to thought about it then they look to Nora who is pouting.

"I heard it's good."

"Well, let's start getting some sap and be done with it," Red said as everyone nods and went to their separate ways.

Unbeknownst to them, Cardin was glaring at them while holding a box which has something buzzing inside.

Team RABG are now in a different part of the forest as they collect some of the sap in the trees.

Blue noticed that Red was deep in thought as he just let out a sigh and called out to his friend, "Red!"

Red jumps as he was slightly startled from the shout, he looks at Blue and said, "What?"

"It's Jaune isn't it?" Green asked as she has a half-full jar of sap.

"I know that you are protective with Jaune because of Cardin, but Pyrrha is with him along with Ren and Nora. He would be fine," Yellow said to assure her partner.

"Okay yes, I am worried for Jaune because of Cardin, but that's not it. I think that something watching us, all of us," Red said as he looks around.

"Now I've think about it, I felt that something following us after we entered the premises," Yellow said as she and the other two members also look around.

"If it's a Grimm, I better look up that are native to this area," Blue said as he grab his Scroll and opened the private file where he keeps the information of every Grimm that is discovered.

"We should also fill this jars up before going. We don't want Ms. Goodwitch to be angry with us do we?" Red said.

"Yeah... Let's not make Goodwitch angry," Green said as they had to agree with the two.

The four then continues to do their objective of collecting sap while they look around warily.

With Team JNPR, the team are also collecting sap, with Nora sometimes eating when the rest of the team aren't looking, but they feel someone is watching them.

"It's Cardin isn't it?" Jaune asked as Ren look behind them and the sound of rustling was heard, but the stoic teen could see some unmatching colors, that didn't mix well with the area, by the bushes.

"Yep," Nora said as she slowly reach out for her weapon but Ren quickly caught her hand before she could even draw it then slowly putting it back down, away from the weapon.

Jaune let out a sigh and said, "Why can't they just leave us alone. We already made a point."

"I guess bullies are just really vengeful. Back in Sanctum, Red was the big brother of the juniors in the Academy, he really hates seeing one of them be bullied or hurt," Pyrrha said to her partner.

"Speaking of juniors, does Red have any favorite?" Jaune asked so they could probably change the subject.

"Both him and Blue actually, and I think their favorite juniors respectively would be Crystal and Gold. They are just three years younger than us. But the thing is, while Blue teaches Gold and Red teaches Crystal, their juniors actually idolize the other."

"So wait, their respective juniors actually want to be like the other?" Jaune said as he actually find it funny.

"Yeah, Gold felt more connected with Red since he was more outgoing while Crystal felt more connected with Blue since he was more into book smart. Other than that, the two are slowly growing to be great Huntsmen," Pyrrha said.

"You're quite proud of them," Jaune said.

"The three of us did train the two and are quite getting better despite their quirkiness."

"Got any other stories?"

"Well there's this one time-"

They then heard something coming at them fast as Jaune quickly drew his sheath and activated the shield to block the incoming projectile.

It was a jar full of sap.

They then heard cursing before five more jars are thrown at them.

Team JNPR drew their weapons as Pyrrha and Ren shoot two of them out of the air while Nora smashes one out of the air as well, and Jaune blocks the fourth one and swats the fifth one in the air.

"Let's get out of here before they try anything else," Jaune said as he saw that his sword and shield has sap on it along with Nora's hammer. Pyrrha and Ren has splotches on the stuff as they knew that it would be difficult to be removed.

They then heard buzzing as they saw a swarm of hornet-like Grimms.

"Rapier Wasps!" Ren warns his team as they quickly ran away from the swarm.

As Team CRDL laughs at the fleeing team, they never noticed something looming above them.

Team RABG are done collecting sap as they now trying to find Team JNPR.

"Did you find any possible Grimm?" Red asked Blue.

"Still trying, there is so many possibilities to find," Blue said as he keeps checking on his Scroll.

"We better hurry though, I think they are already in trouble," Yellow said as she looks around.

"Well let's go then," Green said as they quicken their pace.

As they hurried to find Team JNPR, they ran past Team RWBY as they look confused.

"What was that about?" Yang asked the rest of her team.

"I don't know but if they're running that fast then there might be something going on," Blake said.

"I think it's about Jaune," Ruby said as they now realized why.

"It's Cardin," Yang said.

"If Cardin and his team are the problem, then Grimm might be a problem if they cause enough negativity," Weiss deduced.

"Let's follow Red then," Ruby said as her team nods and followed their leader.

Team JNPR are currently fighting off the Rapier Wasps as they try and swat away those insects with their weapons.

The swarm of Grimms circled around them, trying to break their defenses with their huge numbers.

"When do these things go away!" Nora shouted as she swings her sap covered hammer.

"I don't know! Just let me think," Jaune said as tries to think of a solution for this scenario.

"Duck!" Pyrrha shouted as everyone quickly went down to avoid an incoming attack from the swarm.

Then they heard multiple gunshots from a far, bullets then struck some of the Rapier Wasps and whips of metal struck the rest of them.

Team JNPR then saw Team RWBY and RABG running towards them.

"Guys!" Red called out to them as his cables retracts.

"Glad to see you guys here," Jaune said as he tries to flick away the sap from her sword.

"Where's Cardin and his goons?" Blue asked.

"They are over-"

Ren was cut off when they heard screaming as they saw the Team CRDL except Cardin running away in fear.

"-there."

"At least we know where the Grimm would be," Green said as everyone was ready for combat.

"Let's rumble," Yang said as the three teams quickly ran where the other members of Team CRDL came from.

Cardin was currently hiding behind a tree as he was frantically looking around in fear.

He breathes really loudly till it hitches when he hears a growl.

He let out a sigh of relief till he felt th tree behind him to get unrooted and caused him to run in fear.

He tries to use the trees to slow down his pursuer but he hears said obstacles getting toppled over. He keeps running till he trips on an embedded stone and grunts from the landing.

He then heard something land just a feet behind him as he fearfully look back to finally see his pursuer.

It was a tall Grimm was a mixture of a man and an owl. If Cardin ever stood up, the Grimm would be a foot taller than him as it also has a muscular build.

It has a thick hind legs with sharp white talons that could easily cut through stone and bone armor above its feet and its thighs. On its black round head is a flat round mask with a single sharp point on the bottom of the mask that is similar to an owl. Bone armor that covers its entire front except for its neck and some of its chest as it forms a V cut.

It has wings that is twice as long as Cardin's arm with sharp edges on its feathers and black claws, a fan shaped tail, and a pair of long black plumes above its mask.

Cardin quiver in fear of the Grimm in front of him as it screeches which shows that it has a very wide mouth. It jumps in the air and intends to strike Cardin with its talons.

The bully looked away with his eyes now closed, preparing for the inevitable as he was helpless in this situation.

!

BOOM!

CRASH!

"Are you okay?"

Cardin then open his eyes as he saw Red in shock as the cap wearing teen has his right fists forward, he then saw the Grimm shaking its head from the Red's attack as it stood up and screeches at them.

Then the rest came to the the rescue as they saw the Grimm in front of them.

"That's a Strigis," Blue said as he was looking on his Scroll. "They are mostly found in forests but are very rare. They could shoot the feathers on their wings like a Nevermore, their talons could crush stone, and have a giant mouth to let out a loud screech to stun its target."

"So don't get hit and cover your ears," Yang deduced as she was ready to fight.

"Sounds easy enough," Ruby said.

"You better not underestimate it," Blake said. "They would sometimes migrate to Mistral and are really dangerous. The chance of surviving is probably 70%"

"Close but its 63," Blue said as he puts away his Scroll.

"It's coming!" Ren called out to everyone as they saw the Strigis swooping towards them. They quickly rolled away as they quickly stand up and were ready to fight while Cardin ran away like a coward.

The Stigris was on the air as it stares at the students below and fired its projectile feathers.

The three teams quickly split up to their respective teams as they try to distract the Stigris with their numbers.

Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Pyrrha, Ren, and Blue fired at the flying Grimm as the rest tries to get it down to the ground.

The Stigris easily avoided the bullets and the attempts of grounding it rather easily despite its large body as it would fire powerful screeches to try and scatter them.

Red and Yellow tried to bring it down again by using their weapons sole purpose to do it. So Red is using his grapples to pull it down and Yellow uses her fishing rod to reel it in.

Alongside them, Jaune, Yang, and Green blocks the feathers that the Stigris would fire at them as Jaune and Green would block them with their shields while Yang blast them away with her weapon.

Red then tethered the Grimm with his grapples and pulled it down hard to the ground with Green and Yellow.

Seeing that the sap is weighing his sword down, Jaune stabs it to the ground and drop his shield to draw out his new weapon. He and the rest then charge as the defenseless Grimm as it tries to get the grapple off as the students charge at it.

The Stigris then suddenly change how it's fight as it uses its wings to cut the grapple off it and began to swing its talons around to give itself distance. Most of them back away but Jaune's longer reach easily reach the Grimm's shoulder and pierced its black flesh.

It let out a small screech then backs away with a gaping hole on its shoulder, Jaune then charge again with his spear as he let out battle cry while the Stigris thrust on of its talons at him.

"Jaune!" Everyone called out to him to stop but he didn't stop.

Jaune kept running with his spear till a bright white light covers him. The Stigris' aim was true but a look of shock appears on the face of the Grimm when its talons struck Jaune. Instead of cutting right at the blonde, it breaks on impact and Jaune continued forward.

"Raaaaahhhhh!" Jaune thrust his spear to the Grimm's unprotected chest and pierces through it.

The Stigris screams in pain as it helplessly tries to get Jaune off but the white glow surrounding the blonde made him nigh invincible as its sharp feathers bends and its other talon breaks when it tries to strike him again.

Eventually, the Grimm grew weaker and it finally limps on Jaune's spear, the blonde pulled out his spear and breathes heavily. He then turns around to see his friends look at him in shock while Blue recorded everything Jaune did on his Scroll.

(End Music)

"Congratulations Jaune, you are the first Huntsmen in Training to ever beat a Stigris in a fight. You did have help but you did the two finishing blows," Blue said as Jaune blinks.

The blonde knight looking back to the disintegrating Grimm, then back to his friend.

"Huh."

Back in Beacon, Team RABG are back in their dorm again as Red yet again came out of the bathroom.

He look to see all of his team sleeping then saw Yellow, sprawled again, as she has a bit of drool on her face.

Red just look at this with a smile as he approached his partner and fixed her up. As he was about to put on her blanket, he looks to her face.

He look at her in a trance as he admired her beautiful face since they become roommates.

Red shook his head as he quickly put on her blanket and quickly went to his bed. He quickly grab his Scroll to type out something before going to bed.

And that is it for that chapter.

I'm getting on a roll with this new story. RWBY is probably be my main use in my stories now and I'm not regretting it.

I have nothing else to do and I really can't help but do my story since the very day I first discover this website, RWBY is practically my canvas and there is many ways that I could do to change some parts on it.

Now onto the new Grimm, the Strigis is inspired by the Owlman, the name is just the Latin word for Screech. I kinda mix some other elements from other monsters that I look over to make new Grimms.

Now, I am starting to make Red develop feelings with Yellow. I really love SpecialShipping as it is one of my favorite shipping in the manga. LuckyShipping being a close second but I enjoyed Red being with Yellow.
