07. The heat before the storm

Summer🌊

"All marriages can go through a disagreement at some point in their relationship. And in that disagreement, spirits rise as well as the heat that heralds the next storm"

"It's so small!" Yuta said with such sweetness while admiring that image that he had in his hands.

The ultrasound of his six-week-old baby. His little soybean.

Seeing that echo had unleashed thousands of emotions, but above all, he felt immense happiness when he saw that little being that carried part of his blood.

It wasn't until that moment, after dinner and now in their hotel room, that Yuta was finally able to see the ultrasound that Maki had done the day before.

She hadn't shown it to him until that moment, since she had barely remembered that said image was in her bag, which Nitta had had all this time in her car.

"But Maki! How did you find out you were pregnant? I don't remember that you had all these symptoms before I went on my misión" Yuta asked, still admiring that echo, while he continued sitting on the edge of the bed.

Maki sighed remembering how it all started as she finished brushing her teeth.

"Now that you ask, how I found out was a bit 'comic' now that I think about it "— the green-haired said before sitting next to her husband on that bed. —"But not to make the story so long, let's say that it was all thanks to another baby who started crying in my arms and her mother just told me" —she began to remember the exact words of that woman.

"If a baby rejects a woman, it's because she senses another baby on the way."

"And that made me doubt, I did the calculations and noticed that my period was more than two weeks late, I had also noticed that my appetite was the only thing that had increased in those weeks and that same afternoon I took the test and BOOM! That little baby was right, she turned out to be pregnant!" She answered with a smile. —"The next day I took a blood test and it also came out positive and finally the ultrasound confirmed it" She point to that image.

Yuta smiled at this explanation. "So another baby felt the arrival of ours... Sometimes children act in ways that we adults still can't understand" he stopped looking at the ultrasound for a moment to look at his wife.

"I must admit that small children are often scary" Maki replied with a slight pout.

Yuta laughed at that comment and fell back on the mattress, once again admiring that echo.

"Six weeks... so we're in the first week of May"—he counted down a few times, bringing his right hand to cover his mouth while he still held the echo in his left—"April, March..."—Yuta said that in a pensive. As if he had just remembered something very specific at that moment. "So this baby is a product of 'that night' in Osaka?" He asked, his cheeks all red.

It seemed that he had remembered something very specific from that mission they had in that city a few weeks after his birthday.

Maki smiled at the expression her husband had made.

She nodded, while a big playful smile raised the corner of her lips. And carefully, she settled on top of Yuta, delicately lifting the fabric of her long dress just above her knees, to slip her legs past her husband's sides so she could look at him staring into her eyes from that position.

"If you're talking about that night after that turbulent and dangerous mission. YEAH!. Most likely, this baby is the product of 'that mission in Osaka'"She scratched her cheek a little. "I also did my calculations and came to the same conclusión" She placed her right hand on her belly, while her left hand went to her husband's face to caress his cheek and lips.

That position and that environment began to remind them of that night weeks ago.

They both shared a knowing smile at such an exciting memory. Yuta took Maki's hand and kissed her palm affectionately, while his right hand went up, leaving eager caresses all over her wife's bare leg, stopping momentarily once his hand entered that white dress.

The heat and desire had invaded their bodies for a while and at that moment it began to overflow.

Yuta put that ultrasound aside to focus solely on Maki.

Now his hands caressed his wife's legs, taking advantage of the fact that they were on the sides of his hip. Entering under her dress and caressing her rear with desire and her intimacy once he enter her panties, causing in her a wet sensation when feeling her husband's fingers go through the femininity of his her in the way that always left her wanting more.

Yuta moved his fingers inside her with such mastery, from top to bottom, pressing against her weakest point and running through that moisture with such ease that he could slide perfectly inside her vagina from that position where she was semi-lying on him with her fingers legs open to his sides. As Yuta's free hand ran over Maki's back and rear, squeezing with desire that firm but abundant skin that she had exposed once, pulling her dress up a little above her hips.

And that pleasure was reflected in her slight moans that she tried to drown out on her husband's lips.

Maki felt ecstatic with those caresses, that stimulating mix of movements, they caused a very pleasant tingling inside her belly.

Maki also showed him that sexual desire for him, bringing her face closer to her husband's, to fill him with kisses and soft bites on the lips. She also take the opportunity to mark his neck a little with wet kisses and the occasional mark of bites and pacifiers that they would be visible the next day.

Maki unbuttoned all the buttons on his shirt and began to caress his marked abdomen. Her hands began to travel down his body, caressing him lustfully once he got into his pants to start masturbating him. Starting with a slow rhythm, while she with her right hand ran through his dick from base to tip and gently pressing that dripping tip of his warm semen. To later increase the movement of her hand, as she felt that her husband was reaching his orgasm.

The passion began to grow in their bodies and the desire began to become more evident in their caresses, as well as in their kisses and hip movements that increased in that position where their hands did all the work under those underwear. Which would end up stained with their fluids before such a first orgasm by both of them.

They had run out of breath from that first intimate encounter, so they decided to take a moment. Maki placed her forehead on her husband's forehead, taking advantage of the fact that he was still on top of him, while another complicit smile formed on her lips.

"Feels a bit like that night in Osaka, don't you think?" Maki whispered, her cheeks flushed red.

Yuta broke into a big happy smile as he placed his right hand on Maki's back. He gently slid that dress on her, a few centimeters above her lower back, exposing her entire behind —"Yes, a little... but now with a "Surprise included"... that is, our baby". He played with her suspenders, the which he already wanted to remove completely. So he began to kiss her shoulders once or twice, while he slid those straps a little to expose that skin and thus continue kissing her collarbones, he also kissed part of her tits and went up her neck leaving a path of wet kisses until reaching the part where her chin began.

That comment gave his wife a bit of grace, which made Yuta stop and she returned to her initial position, sitting on her hips again, to look into his eyes from above.

"May, June, July..."— Yuta now began to make more calculations, moving his fingers one by one over the clothes in the area of his wife's belly, even while lying under her— "November, December" — He finished counting. His index finger made circles on Maki's belly "That means our baby will be born in December..."

Maki nodded again, while placing her right hand on her husband's "I estimate that she may be born in mid-December or early January"

"Anyway, a doctor is the one who can assure us with more precision when he will be born" Yuta commented very animated "I can't wait until it's December!" he looked very excited.

Instead, Maki seemed very thoughtful about that date.

"Winter... this baby will be born in the coldest season of the year..." she sighed as she thought of that season.

It's not that Maki doesn't like winter, but that the cold always reminded her of the most difficult things she's experienced over the years.

"Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter..." Yuta said with a big smile. "The Four Seasons"

"Hum?" Maki raised an eyebrow at those words. "What's with that about the seasons?"

Yuta lightly scratched his hair for a moment. "It's just that I kept thinking that your entire pregnancy will go through the four seasons and our baby will be born in the last season of the year, that is, in winter and I feel that this is like a good sign that it will be a very strong baby" he commented with a big smile as he took his wife's hand.

Maki felt at that moment that the words Mai said to her in her dream began to make more sense.

"Bloom" "Leave fruit"

Also for a flower to open all its petals or for the stems to leave their fruits, they must go through a process that can take a certain time and a pregnancy was something similar.

Sometimes this whole process can occur between the seasons of the year and a pregnancy can also be like that.

And that would happen with that little Soybean seed, which would be germinating, growing and bloomting from spring to winter.

"Maybe that's what Mai was referring to..." thought Maki, who was taken out of her thoughts when she felt her husband's touch.

Yuta caressed his wife's hand and intertwined their fingers affectionately—"That means that we still have enough time to buy everything we need for the arrival of our baby and, incidentally, prepare for the delivery" he smiled and looked at her animatedly— "I swear that I'll do my best for both of us so that we don't lack anything during your pregnancy, especially when you have to incapacitate yourself"—He kissed the back of Maki's hand.

The green-haired girl narrowed her eyes upon hearing that and even her lips and nose pursed a Little.

"Maybe we should ask Shoko san if she knows a good obstetrician-gynecologist for your pregnancy or maybe we could ask Utahime sensei for the contact of her personal obstetrician" Yuta stare at his wife.

Maki, upon hearing the names of those two women, pressed her lips tighter and did not utter a word.

Yuta noticed that change in attitude and his wife's silence, so he decided to ask.

"By the way, Maki…" he was curious about her annoyed look. "Does anyone else already know you're pregnant?" he asked directly.

Maki swallowed, she didn't want to break her husband's illusion.

"No, no one else knows yet. I didn't even tell Nitta about my pregnancy so she wouldn't cancel yesterday's mission, much less have I told Megumi" She lied in that last word —"although..." her voice trailed off.

"Though?" Yuta raised an eyebrow.

"Although I also wanted to talk to you about this..."—Her arms tensed a little, that topic caused her conflict that even a knot formed in the pit of her stomach —"I want to keep my pregnancy a secret for as long as possible of everyone in the academy" she comment looking at him seriously.

"But why?!" Yuta asked surprised, as he rose up on his elbows, gradually adjusting himself until he was sitting and leaning on the pillows, while his wife continued sitting on his lap with her legs still at his sides.

Maki sighed at such a question. —"Well, because the moment I tell the others that I'm pregnant, they're going to leave me out of the missions and I don't want that. I don't want to be treated like a sick person!" She crossed her arms and a grimace formed on her lips.

"Love, no one would treat you like someone sick..." Yuta commented caressing her cheeks.

"Sorcerers are like that. When I was in the Zenin clan, women who got pregnant weren't allowed to do many things so as not to risk the baby but at the same time they were treated as if they were useless and I don't want them to treat me like that..." she answered seriously .

"Maki... no one in the academy is going to treat you like this..." Yuta answered seriously.

But she kept talking about her feelings.

"And who assures me that it won't be like that? Yuta, I seriously want to continue being a sorceress and at the same time I want to be a mother!" She waved her hands annoyed.

"But you can still be a sorceress, but after you have the baby..." Yuta kept looking at her seriously.

Maki sighed annoyed by those words from her husband. She got up from his lap and from that bed.

Maki adjust the straps of her dress. "You know..." She aim first at her belly. "At the moment I reveal to the others that I am pregnant" now Maki point at her husband "You will be 'congratulated' for leaving me in this condition and to me..." she pointed to herself "and me they will leave me aside, they will treat me as a sick person or as a disabled person who cannot do anything in this condition."

She sounded furious. "And that usually happens all over the world! While the man is praised because he will be a father, the woman is lowered because she will be a mother! ... And in this world of sorcery it is not the exception... it is a very macho place for women and even more so for pregnant women"

"Maki..." Yuta kept getting interrupted.

"Let me finish talking!" she sounded annoyed. "I don't want to stop fighting, this first degree title as a sorceress for which I struggled so hard to achieve and for which Mai sacrificed herself, it would be in vain if I give it up for this !— She take both hands to her belly —"I want to continue working and fighting until my pregnancy really prevents me!"— she was firm in her decision.

"But fighting in your condition is a huge risk!"— Yuta raised his voice as he also stood up and pulled up his pants —"It's dangerous, especially in these first months! Even as your pregnancy progresses, it would be too dangerous for you to expose yourself in battle! And I, as the father of that baby and as your husband, refuse to expose yourself in that way..." he said seriously.

They both stared at each other.

The tension was too much between the two of them. They had rarely had any discussion as a couple and there were very few times they argued over their differences, but that seemed to be just the beginning of a constant fight of ideals.

The heat before the storm was present in that room, as well as in his eyes and gestures, where you could tell the coming hurricane.

Maki had her hands on her hips.

Instead, Yuta sighed at his wife's attitude. He had his arms crossed over his chest and his face had a very serious and even somewhat imposing expression if you looked closely.

That silence was chilling between those two and more under that darkness.

That room was barely lit. Only the dim light that came from the bathroom lamp and the little that entered through the balcony penetrated.

Those two did not utter a word and you could only hear the sound of the sea crashing against the sand and rocks with such suddenness.

Yuta wanted to avoid sounding like the kind of man he swore never to be. But he also felt that he had every right to look after the well-being and health of his wife and his son as the father of that baby.

He tried not to let her anger go any further and thus prevent the vestiges of Rika's curse from coming out and becoming a danger.

Instead, Maki did not want to be limited by her pregnancy. She was too afraid of regretting that she had chosen to let that baby live and that it would get in her way for all the years she spent trying to reach by her own effort.

Those minutes were too tense, looking at each other with too many feelings at stake. But even so, one of the two had to give in.

"It seems that..." Yuta was the one who broke that silence.

"What the hell does it seem to be?" Maki asked too annoyed, crossing her arms over her chest.

Yuta tried to relax his shoulders, took a deep breath and then exhaled "It seems that this is our first discussion of so many disagreements that we are going to have over this baby..."

Maki clicked her tongue. — "It seems that it will be so and I don't want to imagine when this baby is born and all the times that you and I are going to argue because we both do not agree on which school is best for our son to study, or to see what sport we'll enroll him or whether we'll let him be a sorcerer or not." She lowered her gaze and turned to the side

"There is so much at stake that we must solve before it is born and we will see all those other issues as time goes by" Yuta paused slightly.

"Maybe we'll choose the school that's closest to home, maybe we'll let him choose his favorite sport and we'll see about being a sorcerer over time" he said, moving his hands slightly. "But we shouldn't be overwhelmed by those issues right now..." Yuta commented looking at how his wife seemed to ignore him.

"Maki, we should talk about this calmly... we could both come to an agreement with all this, just as we have done with our marriage"— he started to sound a little worried — "I don't think you should get angry or stress too much either, that could hurt you or the baby"— He try to take his wife's hand.

"You make it sound so 'easy' for you! How come you're not going to carry this baby for almost nine months inside you!" Maki commented annoyed and pushing Yuta's hand aside.

"This isn't easy for me either! I may not be holding that baby but as her father I must be involved in this! I love you and I just want to do what's best for you and that baby! Let's talk about all this, please!" Yuta commented, moving his hands and his voice reflected too much annoyance.

"Ugh!" Maki growl, "This stinks! These stupid decisions are a fiasco!"— Maki answered, even more annoyed, bringing her hands to her belly again — "Perhaps the ideal thing would have been better to have made another decision and ended the life of this seed that seems to only bring us problems... it's like a small problem"

Yuta was hurt by those words that Maki had released, he tried to be empathetic and understandable, but it seemed impossible to make his wife see reason at that moment.

"You're a damn selfish..." Yuta replied dragging out those first words.

"What did you say?..." she whispered, surprised by how her husband named her.

"Maki... it's not fair that you first give us illusions about having the baby and then say that it is and will be a nuisance for your plans... Really, if you still didn't feel safe with all this and really You didn't want to have it... I..." —He clenched his lips and fists a little, his gaze fell to the ground —"I would have preferred not to have known that you were pregnant, so I would never have had false illusions about being a father… So maybe I would never have given myself false hopes about the three of us being a family... So maybe you would have interrupted this pregnancy without regret" — Yuta sighed after releasing those words, he ran his hands through his hair, combing it back, due to frustration he felt at that moment with that direct insinuation about an abortion.

Those words froze Maki's blood, who felt her heart shrink.

"Really…"— he growled a little —"I really..."— he sighed annoyed —"I need a breather" — Yuta commented, trying to control the anger he felt running through his veins, as he went out onto the balcony of that room.

He rested his hands on that rail while trying to relax and looked towards the sea, which had a very rough tide due to the moonless night.

Maki sighed for everything that had happened, she was in a state of total confusion and despaired.

She sat on the edge of the bed, then fell back onto the mattress. All of this overwhelmed her. Days before they found out about that baby, the two of them were completely happy, they were a young married couple who felt they could continue going against the world, but now they were on the verge of collapse or a divorce.

The green-haired woman felt that something was bothering her shoulder and when looking for that cause, she found the ultrasound that had been left on the bed during their sexual encounter. Which, that image had stuck to her skin.

She look at that image carefully and a lump formed in her throat.

"You have a very stubborn and selfish mother..." she sighed "I don't know what I should do with all this... I really don't know what I'm going to do with you" she said in a low and brittle voice, carrying that echo to her chest while some tears ran down her cheeks.

She look for Yuta with her eyes, and there he was, looking towards the sea, feeling the breeze and incidentally he seemed to be talking to someone.

Maki sighed sadly because she knew who "that someone" was next to Yuta.

"If 'she' were still 'alive'... she would definitely even be a better wife and mother than me at this moment" Maki whisper in Rika's presence.

For a few years, Maki had already left behind that feeling that she was a "substitute" for that girl, who was Yuta's first love.

From what little he had told her about what he remembered about Rika, it seemed that she was the "perfect" girl in several aspects... But only death stood between them.

But now, that strange insecurity returned with that baby. The idea that perhaps she wasn't being a good life partner for Yuta and apparently she wouldn't be a good mother either, made her feel bad about herself.

"And if Rika were alive... Would she be a better woman than me?... perhaps Rika would be a better wife or even a better mother than me..." she answered in a low voice as she continued to look at Yuta from behind. Chatting a little with that trace of curse that from time to time kept that sorcerer company.

Maki sighed with discouragement as she continued to wipe the tears that did not stop falling down her cheeks. She felt that her hormones and her mood swings would drive her crazy.

"Rika wasn't a sorcerer and that, I suppose, made her better than me... because she could have lived peacefully as a normal woman... she could have had a normal job and not a dangerous one... she might have been able to give her the children that I'm still in doubt about giving to Yuta... she..."— Maki swallowed trying to get rid of the lump in her throat, but it was useless, she started to cry inconsolably. She had to take a pillow to cover her face and prevent Yuta from hearing her scream.

Yes, Maki was selfish, she was stubborn, she thought of herself before others, she was a Zenin... but she was also a woman who was afraid like any other and who still hadn't assimilated that stage. In addition, she that at that time she felt alone...

Perhaps all he needed was a deep breath to think things through...

Maki didn't know when she fell asleep or for how long she had slept.

But she was sure of one thing, being woken up in the wee hours of the morning by nausea, was one of the worst feelings anyone could suffer.

That discomfort was accompanied by a hot flash caused by the heat of the night.

Maki opened her eyes little by little, feeling how that acidity increased, making her wrinkle her nose.

"Damn heat... it already feels like fucking summer..." she cursed, swallowing a little to get rid of the knot in the pit of her stomach and looking around.

The sun had not yet risen and the waves were still crashing against the beach.

Maki adjusted her eyes to the dim darkness of the room and gave a slight jump when she remembered the argument she had had with her husband a while ago.

"Yuta..." she whispered with her heart racing.

When trying to look for it with my eyes on that balcony, I notice that it was no longer there.

"How long did I sleep? Where has Yuta gone?" she wondered mentally.

She tried to take her hand to her belly, as a distressing concern invaded her. Again, she gave a jump as she felt something encircle her from the waist.

Lifting the sheets, she feel her husband's hand embracing her. She slightly turned her face over her shoulder and sure enough, Yuta was asleep next to her.

Maki sighed in relief for a moment and her left hand caressed Yuta's hand.

He felt bad about what both of them had said to each other and how she had made him feel.

Carefully, she turned to face Yuta, who didn't wake up despite his wife's somewhat abrupt movement to settle next to him.

And there he was, fast asleep with his white shirt still open, with his calm breathing and with his characteristic dark circles still marked with the passage of time.

Under those eyelids, you could see that the skin was somewhat swollen, perhaps because he had cried.

"When did you come to sleep next to me?... Well ... it's normal for him... even though we're fighting, he always comes to sleep next to me..." she thought as she watched him sleep.

He looked too calm and cute at the same time.

Maki carefully made some locks of his black hair to remove them from his face, it was noticeable that he was also warm, because he had some drops of sweat on his forehead.

Because of that feeling of the hair, Yuta wrinkled his forehead a little, making a slight pout while also wrinkling his nose.

Those gestures gave Maki a bit of grace and tenderness.

A longing sigh heaved from her chest as she imagined that perhaps this baby could be physically similar to Yuta. Just imagining that his little soybean had hair as black as him or that he made the same gestures that he did in sleep, made her move heart.

Maki began to understand that perhaps if she was doing something wrong, she knew that she was proud and perhaps she should give in a little and see the positive side of the situation. Being pampered could be one of them.

Yuta was somewhat right. They had both been excited about the arrival of that little one and Maki understood it when she put her hand on her belly.

What she had said about that baby being a bother had made her remember her mother and all the times she had cursed the birth of those twins, but Maki didn't want to become like her.

She did not want to make the same mistakes as her mother and she had to show that she would be a better mother than the one who gave birth to her.

"I'm sorry..." Maki whisper and plant a kiss on her husband's forehead.

She took off the sheets and got out of bed very carefully so as not to wake him up. She adjusted her long dress and began to walk towards the balcony.

She needed to take a breath.

The sea breeze was refreshing and more when the heat began to increase, giving indications that summer would soon begin.

Maki sighed as she remembered everything that had happened in the last four days; Finding out she was pregnant, talking to Megumi about the clan, talking to that other mother on the train, taking a risk on that mission where she defeated a category one curse and more while pregnant, their meeting in the " limbo" with Mai and above all, happiness and chaos happened with Yuta.

All this made her reflect on what she really wanted to do.

"Maybe I just have to give in a little... put my pride aside..." —She take a deep breath — "Maybe it's time to settle down and show that I can be a 'good mother and a good leader' in all of this..."— she said to herself in a low voice, while her hands caressed her belly.

The minutes passed and being in that place, imagining what her baby could be like and reflecting while the wind blew on her face, was really helping her to clear up her doubts.

"Your father may be right, it would be a good idea for you to come to see the sea a few months after you are born..." She caressed her belly and continued talking to her baby "and it would also be a good option for you to go to a school nearby from their home. And that you practice the sport that you want the most, although me could also teach you to defend yourself with various weapons" she sounded excited about teaching her son to fight like her.

"And you will also decide what you want to do in this life... because you will be free to choose your path, and more because I, as the new leader of this little clan, will give you that freedom to choose between being a sorcerer or a person with a quiet life" a big smile appeared on her lips at the words she had said while she kept imagining the things she could do with her baby and Yuta.

She didn't know how much time she had spent out there, reflecting on all that. But the wind began to do its thing on her skin.

With her hands, Maki began to rub her arms a little because of the cold she began to feel.

But at that moment, hands encircled her waist, protecting her from that breeze and warming her.

Maki smiled a little as she felt that Yuta had gotten up to stand by her side.

"Are you alright?" Yuta asked a little sleepily.

"What are you doing here? You should keep sleeping..." she asked curiously.

"Since I didn't see you in bed and since I didn't hear you get up either, I was worried when I didn't find you in the room" he commented, resting his head on his wife's shoulder. "It's getting a bit cool out here, you should go back to bed to don't catch a cold"

Maki caressed his black hair and then looked for his cheek to kiss him. "I'm fine... the nausea woke me up and I felt like I needed some fresh air" She kissed him again "I just needed a breather" She looked at him a little above his shoulder. "But I'm better now..." Maki take her hand over Yuta's hands, which rested on her stomach.

"Okay, you know that if you need something, you can tell me... whether it's a simple food craving or a simple bottle of water" Yuta replied, looking towards the sea, still over Maki's shoulder.

"Thank you..." she replied with a slight smile.

They both kept a few minutes of silence, while they listened to the waves and admired the horizon that would soon be illuminated by the first rays of the sun.

A sigh came from Yuta's chest as he broke the silence. "Maki, I... I must apologize, I'm sorry for..." he was interrupted by his wife.

"Yuta, you don't have to apologize…" Maki let go of his arms and turned to face him "You're right, I was selfish and immature to only be deluding you with this baby thing."

Yuta just kept silent.

"The one who should apologize this time is me..." Maki relax her shoulders.

"I know that in the afternoon, I asked you if we were really ready for this and even though we both agreed..." she sighed, "the Thinking about everything that will come makes me a little nervous as a new mother and also..." she paused slightly "I know that you only care too much for the two of us and I think that the least I should do is be a burden with all this" She slightly pursed her lips "And I must admit, at times I feel alone and lost because I have no one to guide me with all this that is new to me..." she commented, looking into his eyes.

Yuta caressed her cheek. "You're not alone, you have me, we're both in this as new parents" he gently squeezed her hand as a sign of support. "And you should know that you and the baby will never be a burden to me... I'm just worried about what could happen to you and more because I know you're very difficult to convince"

"I know. I am very stubborn and may never change that in me."

Yuta took a deep breath and then continued speaking, staring at his wife —"And after everything you said, I thought that the two of us should come to an agreement in case you don't decide to terminate your pregnancy... although if you decide to abort..." He sigh "I suppose I had no other option than to respect that decision..."

Maki raised an eyebrow at those words "An agreement?"

"Yeah".

"I hear you. Maybe you can convince me." Maki leaned slightly on the railing looking at Yuta.

"How can I tell you this without arguing again..." He put his hand over his mouth for a moment, analyzing one last time what he was about to say.

He breathed once more and began to speak —"Well, as you said, you are very stubborn and since I know that you will not stop fighting even in your condition..."

Maki clicked her tongue slightly at such words.

"I was thinking why don't we do missions together like old times? That until the time comes when you decide to take maternity leave" Yuta replied, scratching his neck.

The green-haired girl's eyes widened at such a suggestion. "Are you talking about teaming up like in our high school years?"

"Something like that."

She just crossed her arms over her chest. "Explain. What do you want to get with this deal?"

"Well" —Yuta also leaned against the balcony railing for a moment and looked towards the sea —"As I know that you are very attached to the idea of continuing to fight even when you are pregnant and as I know that you will not give up even if I beg you or you I tried to prevent... I was thinking about why not do missions together during your pregnancy?" He looked at his wife seriously "So you can continue fighting and I could be calm because I would be watching and protecting you at all times"

Maki jesters slightly "Wow, you sound very 'overprotective'. Since when are you like that?" she commented, still with her arms crossed.

Yuta smiled a little. "As I said, I know that you will not give up on said idea in case you decide to keep the baby."

She pursed her lips a bit.

"And the truth is, if something were to happen to you or the baby during one of your missions, I know I wouldn't forgive myself..." Yuta look at her with a bit of melancholy in his eyes, as if remember some bad event.

"Maki, you know that I would die for you and even all these discussions make me feel bad because I'm afraid of losing you or that something bad will happen to you again..," Yuta had touches of sadness in his voice.

Maki sighed hearing that. Almost a day ago, Yuta had said something similar and she knew that she meant it.

They both kept a moment of silence. Maki was really thinking about that proposal.

"Are you talking about that in all my missions you will be there? All? Absolutely all of them?" Maki asked putting her hand to her chin and looking for a moment at the dark firmament.

"All without exception, so I could help you finish the missions faster and as I said, so I would also be taking care of you, eliminating all level one or special grade curses for you in case the mission gets complicated" —He kept looking at her with seriousness — "As you said, you want to continue being a sorceress and you want to continue fighting curses, but at the same time you want to be a mother and in all that, where am I as a father? Am I no longer being considered in your plans? What should I do as your husband to see you happy?" Yuta asked.

Maki sighed at such questions. She pursed her lips for a moment as she kept thinking about that condition, which, if she accepted, they would have to come up with a very good and credible excuse so that everyone else wouldn't suspect anything and, incidentally, she knew that Yuta would be more loaded work, since he, being a special grade sorcerer, always had more work than her... taking care of missions both inside and outside the city.

After a few minutes of silence and reflection, Maki asked something else. —"And how long would this deal last?"

"mmmm very good question" Yuta brought his hand to his chin again at such questioning. "Up to what month of gestation do YOU consider a good time to stop fighting curses? Because you said it yourself... you're the one who's going to carry our baby and I just want you to be safe and comfortable with all of this."

Maki pouted slightly at such a question. She really hadn't thought of that point.

She moved her hands to her hips as she thought of an answer. She looked down at the ground and that's when she looked down at her belly on top of her clothes.

In that instant she remembered the words that Megumi had told him about how sooner or later, her belly would be visible to everyone and in that situation she would no longer be able to hide her pregnancy from others.

One more memory was unlocked from her memory, and it was one about a kind of "ritual" that the Zenin clan did and that had to do with the fourth month of pregnancy. Month where the belly began to stand out and that was a number considered important because it is assumed that the fetus and the mother had overcome death.

"At four months..." Maki whispered.

"Huh?" Yuta asked raising an eyebrow. But his wife was silent for a moment while he kept thinking.

And so, after a few more minutes of reflection, Maki came to a conclusion.

Maki take a breath and stare at her husband. "Okay. I will accept this 'deal' that you propose, but in exchange, two conditions must be met... Above all, I accept this because I have really been excited about being a mother and it is my desire to have this baby"

Yuta's eyes widened at that answer. "Okay, and what are those two conditions?" he asked curiously.

Maki approached her husband, stood in front of him and with her index finger, told him to lower his face a little towards her.

She knew that she had to cooperate a little with all of this, but even so, she also had to make her conditions clear in order to move forward with that relationship.

That black-haired man smiled slightly when he understood that subtle signal that his wife had given him, brought his face close to hers and put his hands on her hips while she gave him a light kiss on the lips before separating a little from her body to respond to that.

"My conditions are the following; Number one: We will not tell anyone about my pregnancy until such time as I decide. And that moment may be when my belly already looks bulging. Which will be about the fourth or almost fifth month of pregnancy. And maybe once we get through those 'safe weeks', we'll tell everyone that we're expecting a baby" Maki raise her index finger as she list that first condition.

"Okay, this condition is understandable to a certain extent, so I won't tell anyone—Yuta commented, staring into her eyes and not letting go —"I suppose that this way we could wait until the most critical thing is over and it's completely safe to give them this news." He smiled slightly.

"BUT YOU MUST PROMISE ME THAT YOU WILL NOT TELL ANYONE! ABSOLUTELY NOBODY OR I SWEAR I WILL KICK YOUR BUTT WITH ALL MY MIGHT!" Maki answered with a big smile on her face and a threatening tone of voice.

Yuta laughed a little at his wife's attitude, it seemed that she had already recovered her usual humor. "I promise." He showed her the palms of her hands as a sign of promise.

"Good!"

"And what is the second condition?" Yuta asked, caressing Maki's cheek a little.

She moved closer to him, now she rose on tiptoes until she could reach his lips once more, gracefully passing her arms around her husband's neck and began to kiss him with much desire.

Maki had a hard time admitting at that moment, that Yuta looked so sexy with his clothes unbuttoned and that this still caused her a great desire for him.

"The second condition is..." Maki answered between kisses and gasps.

The hormones rampaged by the pregnancy made her have a slightly higher sexual desire than when she was not pregnant and perhaps that could be considered a " craving " that was related to her second condition.

That exchange of kisses started out slow, full of love and desire, but little by little it increased in intensity, the soft bites on the lips of both and a bit of the touch of their tongues became present.

They both broke apart to catch their breath. They put their foreheads together. Yuta was the first to open his eyes while Maki began to speak, blushing and still with her eyes closed and her breath half caught.

"It's the condition that you don't stop treating me and seeing me as your wife..." she opened her eyes and looked at him with her forehead leaning against his forehead "Yuta, I don't want you to stop making love to me, I don't want you to either stop caressing me or kissing me or touching me, I still get all fat for this baby" her breath was still recovering "Let alone I want you to treat me like a sick person due to my pregnancy, I want us to continue being the same as always .. I don't want you to push me away just because of this baby that's on the way"

Yuta smiled at those words, his hands traveled to Maki's cheeks to gently cup her face. And her lips came together again in one more kiss.

"I would never stop making love to you, much less put you aside..." he answered between kisses.

"Those are my two conditions..." Maki parted a little from her lips to say that and to be able to take a breath again. "If you accept these two conditions, I will accept that we fight as a team until I am between four and five months pregnant."

Yuta caressed her cheeks once more "Okay, I will accept your conditions, only if you promise not to accept doing any mission without me during these coming months."

Maki had no choice. "Okay, I promise." She looked into his eyes and raised her hands as a sign of promise.

Yuta smiled once more to hear those words, once again brought his lips closer to his wife's and began to kiss her with great affection.

"I love you" she answered still with her hands around his neck.

"And I love you." her husband replied with a tender smile. "Let's go rest a little more, in a few hours we will return to Tokyo and the road will be long." he answered, beginning to take a few steps inside the room.

Maki just nodded her head and held his hand to go back into the room together.

But as I said, Maki's sexual desire, could be considered as one more craving at that moment, burning with passion and burning intensely inside her... that craving was only increasing and she knew it wouldn't go away easily, so I needed to be his even if it was that night before things really got more and more tense between the two of them.

🌊To be continue...

Notes

I hope you liked it💕

The next chapter may be more explicit about "that craving" that Maki brings, so it may be a "smut" chapter.

Which you can skip if you don't want to read about that theme in this fic. Although it will be a subject rarely touched on in reality in this story.

Just as the hot moments between these two are coming, there will also be moments of total tension, which will make those two doubt.

Also, maybe later I will tell you about that happy mission in Osaka, where that baby was created.
Anyway, we keep reading.

PS:If you like this story, please leave a comment or a kudo, that would help me a lot to continue translating this fic
