Transformers Prime: A New Adventure.

Chapter 8: How Optimus Met Cora.

(Optimus Prime's POV...)

Looking back on this particular day, I can confidently say that I do not regret it.

Was this encounter accidental?

Most likely.

Was it the correct choice at all?

Back then, maybe a mixture of yes and no.

But, in spite of the struggles and sparkache, I would do it all over again for her. One of the new children I had to care for.

Let me start at the beginning.

It was seventeen years ago, when we first came to Earth before dealing with the Decepticons once again, just shortly after we liberated Aquatron from the Quintessons and drove them to extinction.

Four days prior to our next engagement with the Decepticons, a ginormous earthquake had struck a small town.

Agent Fowler, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and myself were at the town trying to clean up anything that was leftover from the earthquake.

We had split up to work more efficiently.

But as I was moving debris aside, I heard a little cry.

And it was coming from what was presumably a demolished house.

When I went to it, I clearly heard the sounds of someone screaming and crying out for a human.

I told them to hang on, and I carefully moved the rubble out of my way.

But when I was clearing the debris, I saw a bright purple and bright blue light coming from the last piece of debris.

I moved it away, and I was shocked.

Underneath all of that debris was a purple and blue glowing orb, and curled up inside of it was a naked human infant.

It was a female human infant, she was very small, potentially a newborn.

She was fair-skinned, with round warm pinkish cheeks and little black hairs on her head.

She stopped crying and opened her eyes.

She looked towards me, and I was confused as to why one eye was blue and the other was purple.

I reached out and touched the orb, and a small shock went through me.

It was so small that it actually felt like a feather touch.

It spread across my servo, and I could see veins of blue and purple mixed together to make violet.

This felt like I was drinking an Energon cube, but this was a violet variety and the veins instantly disappeared.

I then felt nauseous.

That's when I realized that this was Violet Energon, the fuel and lifeblood of Belus, the distant relative of Primus and Unicron who is like Primus in every way possible and hates Unicron on an equal level to Unicron hating Primus.

Violet Energon acts like Dark Energon in the sense of reviving dead Cybertronians and boosting the power of anyone who infuses themselves with it while they're still functional.

But the main differences are that unlike Dark Energon, Violet Energon doesn't revive dead Cybertronians as Terrorcons, and anyone infused with Violet Energon won't suffer the penalties of Dark Energon withdrawal and won't go mad with power.

I gently picked up the infant and rested her in the palm of my servo.

I gently stroked her head with one digit and I said assuringly, "Do not be afraid, my little sweetspark. I am here for you, and I will give my life to protect you."

And now, seventeen years later, just a short of 2 days after we had another 40 new recruits we celebrated Cora Sun Prime's 17th birthday.

We had a splendidly small party in her honor. As she describes it, besides the family unit, there was nothing to make it too much to handle. It was just her blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, opening presents, dancing to music, and all of us telling stories of our past.

I can honestly say that Fortressimus Prime's stories were so humorous I came close to laughing hysterically in front of everyone.

And I remember that when Cora first transformed into her Cybertronian form, Fortressimus described her appearance as, and I quote, "A combination of Sari Sumdac in her techno-organic robot mode and one out of many of Iron Man's battle suits."

And if I were to be brutally honest, I would not trade Cora and any of my other children for anything in this world, in this universe.

And now, we are all happy.

The End.
