I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of the story.

Author's Note at the end.

Bella sets the bowl of salad on the table slowly, worried that her shaking hand will make her drop it. She has been preparing for months for this, yet it feels like only yesterday she agreed to let Edward into Cece's life. Time passed by like sand through her fingers and now that it's time for Cece to find out the truth, Bella is on the verge of a mental break down.

Suddenly, she feels a hand placed on her shoulder. "Bella, go and try to relax. I will set the food before leaving," Angela tells her. Bella decided that it's better for Cece to have as much privacy as possible. Hence, Angela leaving before Edward arrives.

Sniffing, Bella shakes her head erratically and tells her, "No, I am fine."

Angela stops her from moving by holding her hands in hers and telling her firmly, "Bella, go wash your face and take your anxiety medication. There is no shame in asking for help."

Bella opens her mouth to rebuttal her but the look on Angela's face stops her. She nods her head and then turns away from her and walks to the stairs. She almost trips many times as she runs up the stairs but she doesn't stop repeating her mantra in her head.

There is no shame in asking for help.

There is no shame in asking for help.

There is no shame in asking for help.

There is no shame in asking for help.

Bella keep repeating the mantra her psychologist taught her. She splashes water against her face and opens the medicine cabinet before she can see her reflection. Her hands shake as she drops a pill in her hand and swallows it dry.

She takes a deep breath and gets out of the bathroom and walks to Cece's bedroom. She finds her reading a story.

"Knock, knock," Bella sings jovially as she knocks on the door already feeling the effect of the drugs taking over.

Cece looks up from her book and smiles at her. "What are you reading?"

"Alice in wonderland," Cece answers pushing her glasses up her nose.

Bella smiles at her as she walks into the bedroom. "Do you wanna read it to me?"

Bella claps her hands and nods her head before sitting in the spot in her bed beside her. She takes the book from her and starts reading it for her and before long, they finish the last two chapters together.

"The end," Bella states closing the book and sitting it down on her nightstand.

"Did you like it?" Bella asks Cece as she tucks Cece's hair behind her ear.

"I don't know," Cece tells her shrugging.

"Why is that?" Bella asks her.

"I don't understand why he wrote it. You once told me that if a story doesn't make sense, ask yourself why someone would write it. It feels like nonsense," Cece tells her.

Bella tilts her head to the side thinking of answer as she stares at Cece. "Maybe something happened to him that didn't make any sense and he wanted to write the story of someone who felt that."

"Like what?" Cece asks in intrigue her eyes wide in wonder.

Bella shrugs her shoulder then answers her, "I don't know, but maybe the people around him didn't understand how he was feeling and he wrote Alice in Wonderland to tell them that he felt like Alice felt in her dream. That he is confused because sometimes we discover things about ourselves that feel confusing and we don't know who to talk to."

Cece nods her head and is silent for a moment before she tells her, "I will never write a story like Alice in Wonderland. I will always have you to talk to."

Bella smiles at her daughter's sweetness and then hugs her tightly to her. "What if you become mad at me and don't want to talk to me?" Bella asks her her voice shaky.

"That will never happen," Cece whispers keeping her voice low as if she understands the fragility of her mum in this moment.

Bella smiles despite the tears threatening to fall and then pulls back from the hug and places her hands on her daughter's shoulder and looks her in the eyes as asks her, "Promise that you will never ever be so mad at me that you will never talk to me or tell me how you are feeling."

"I promise," Cece tells her and then pauses for a moment then asks her, "Is this about Edward?"

Bella is in shock. She has worked too hard at making sure Cece doesn't question a thing before they are ready to tell her. They never said anything around her that would make her realize that he is her dad.

Unless that son of a bitch told her behind my back.

"How did you know?" Bella asks slowly trying to control her emotions.

Cece giggles before she tells her, "He spends all the time over. It's not that hard to figure out that he is your boyfriend."

Bella sighs in relief and laughs lightly before she tells her, "Sweetie, he isn't my boyfriend."

"Then why has he been visiting a lot?" Cece asks her.

Bella opens her mouth and then closes it. She opens it again to answer her but she comes up empty handed. She doesn't know what to tell her. She is saved from answering by a knocking on Cece's door.

Bella and Cece look up at the same time to find Edward standing in the doorway. "Sorry, Angela let me in while leaving. I decided to give you time to come down on your own but it has been ten minutes since."

It seems that Cece and Bella were both too immersed in their discussion to hear the door bell or the closing of it. Edward smiles at both of them awkwardly. It's obvious that he has walked into a discussion that they might not want him around for.

And then, Bella gets a glint in her eyes that scares Edward. "I was just telling Cece that we aren't dating," then Bella pauses and turns to Cece and tells her, "Sweetie, there is something important Edward and I want to talk to you about. Let's go down and have it in the living room since your bed doesn't have enough space in it for everyone."

Edward looks at Bella in alarm as she gets off the bed and takes Cece's small hand in hers and walk toward him.

"What the heck? I am not ready?" Edward whispers as they walk down the stairs.

"Neither am I, but she is," Bella whispers back.

"I am calling a rain check. Let's just tell her we are dating," he whispers in fear.

"shut up. we are ding this," she whispers back with finality.
