don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of the story.

Author's Note at the end.

Edward and Bella sit opposite of Cece presenting a united front. "There is something I wanted to talk to you about in the presence of Edward after dinner, but since you asked something related to it, I will talk to you about it now," Bella states leaning forward with her hands folded between her knees.

"Okay?" Cece states unsure of why her mum is being this serious and why Edward needs to be present on this discussion. Her mum gives her a reassuring smile while Edward looks nervous.

Bella opens her mouth to continue but Edward speaks before she can. "Cece, any emotion you feel after our talk is valid. Any reaction you have is valid. You don't need to behave a certain way. Your mum and I won't judge you for what you say or do."

Bella nods her head and tells her, "Edward is right sweetheart. It's within your right to say or do what you want to."

Cece nods her head, still unsure of what is happening right now.

Bella takes a deep breath and tells Cece, "You know how we once talked about how families come in different shapes and sizes?"

Cece nods her head and answers, "Yes. Some families can have two mummies, or two daddies. Also sometimes it could be one dad, or one mum. Also sometimes the baby will have more than one daddy or one mummy because the daddy or mummy that made the baby can't take care of the baby, like me and Marco. Other times the mummy and daddy will give up the baby for another mummy and daddy to adopt and take care oof because they want so much for their baby but they can't give the baby those things."

Edward is surprised by what Cece just said. Bella told him that she had explained to their daughter all about families, but he didn't expect her to know this much.

Bella smiles at her daughter and tells her, "You are right. Marco didn't help me make you, but for a long time he helped me take care of you because he loves you. Now that we aren't married anymore, he doesn't help me take care of you the way he used to, but he still loves you and enjoys spending time with you."

Cece is quiet for a minute and then her eyes light with recognition as she turns to Edward and asks him, "Is that why you are here Edward? Do you know the daddy who helped make me with mummy?"

Edward sucks a deep breath and looks at Bella unsure of how to proceed. He didn't expect things to go this way. Him and Bella were supposed to explain to her why biological daddies sometimes can't be present for their child first. He was supposed to argue his case and make her feel sympathetic for his case before he let's her know that he is her father.

Bella smiles reassuringly at him and then turns to Cece and states, "Sweetie, Edward is the daddy who helped me make you."

Silence. Absolute silence is Cece's reaction. A minute passes by. Another one passes. Cece stays silent. Edward looks at Bella and finds a nervous smile hanging off her lips. It seems that she doesn't know what's going on in Cece's head more than he does. Edward starts worrying that Cece went into shock.

Then a small unintelligible sound comes out of her. "What did you say sweetheart?" Bella asks as she bounces her knees in fear. Was her daughter ready to hear that? Should she have maybe waited some more before telling her? Maybe she should have dropped some hints before? God, what has she done?

"Why?" Cece whispers which Bella and Edward hear with difficulty.

Understanding what she means, Edward answers, "I have loved you since I knew that you existed. I just wasn't ready too be the father I know you deserve because I was sick."

Bella and Edward knew that telling her that Bella hide her from him would make her sound terrible and damage her relationship with her daughter. They also knew that explaining abuse to her would make her hate her dad and make it impossible for her to form a relationship with him. They figured out that telling her that he was struggling with alcoholism would solve their dilemma. Except that Cece is too young to understand Alcoholism, so they decided to tell her that he was sick and as she got older explain to her that his sickness was alcoholism.

Cece stares at him for a moment before turning to her mum and asks, "Was he sick like you were when I was a baby?"

Cece doesn't know that she had cancer like her mum. She doesn't even know what cancer is, or that Bella had it, but she knows that in her baby photos, her mum looks sick.

Bella nods her head and answers her, "Yes sweetie. He was sick like I was."

"But he didn't look sick," Cece interjects and then adds, "Two years ago."

Bella takes a deep breath and tells her, "Just because you don't look sick, it doesn't mean that you aren't sick.'

Cece silently stares at her feet for a minute before she looks up at her mum and tells her, "You said that I can say what I want to, right?"

"Of course," Both Bella and Edward state at the same time.

Cece glances at Edward for a second then she turns to her mum and sits straight and tells her, "Tell Edward to leave mummy. I don't want to ever see him."

Hello lovely people,

Please don't kill me for the cliff hanger. Remember that I love you and every time I give you such a cliffhanger, you end up enjoying the chapter even more.

Also, I want to clear up some confusion from the last chapter. Bella didn't randomly decide to spring telling Cece on Edward randomly. They agreed to tell her after dinner and she simply decided to make it before dinner instead when she felt that Cece was receptive to the discussion.
