I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of my story.

Bella, Marco, and Cece soon leave after Edward joins them and Tanya. Marco tells them that Cece's bedtime has come and gone and that they need to take her home, and to his credit, she does look dead on her feet.

When they bid them goodbye, Tanya hugs her tightly and tells her how excited she is that Bella's office will be on the same floor as hers. Bella forces a smile as she tells her she is excited too. Her acting skills must have been better than she thought they are because Tanya did not suspect a thing.

She does not know if the same thing can be applied to Edward, and she doesn't bother looking to see. She hurriedly picks up Cece and walks towards the valet and asks him to bring their car.

She waits for Marco to follow her outside while the valet gets their car. He reaches her and stands awkwardly beside her after he tries to touch her and she slaps his hand away.

The last thing she needs is his pity-driven sympathy.

She gets into the passenger seat as Marco buckles in Cece. She silently stares outside of the window as Marco drives them home. She doesn't know how she will continue doing this. She was kidding herself when she thought that she had left him behind.

What is the point of leaving someone behind when they are inside of you, despite everything they did to deserve being left behind?

There is no point. It's just aimless torture till death saves you from this agony. An agony meant to be felt every day, till one day it becomes too much and you take the easy way out.

This is a bad idea. Helping in this is a bad idea. What is the point of avenging something that never was?

She originally wanted to do it out of guilt and shame. She thought that Edward deserves closure. She wanted to do it as revenge. She understands that even if her hand wasn't forced that Edward is not the person for her and one way or the other they would have broken up. She knows that he has moved on. She didn't come here to rekindle their love. It's dead and gone and she has made peace with that.

Love isn't supposed to feel like you are being run over by a timber-carrying truck. That isn't how love is supposed to feel like. It is supposed to feel like coming home. Their love was fierce, passionate, and brutal. At times it felt like it would be the end of her. They were never the calm before the storm, they were the storm. The kind of storm that broke houses, uprooted trees, and destroyed land.

She gets out of the car once Marco parks it and unbuckles Cece before carrying her home. Her bedroom is on the second level of their townhouse, so she climbs the stairs before entering her room and laying her on her bed.

She usually wakes her up and makes her brush her teeth. But this time she is too exhausted to do it so she pulls the dress over her head and dresses her in her pajamas.

Bella changes into her pajamas and sits on the patio with a cup of decaffeinated green tea and remembers what she used to think was the beginning of the end. When it all went wrong.

This guy was laying it on thick and refuses to take no for an answer. She kept backing away from him slowly but to no avail. She looks around hoping that Edward doesn't see this. The last thing she needs is him pulling a stunt.

The last time he saw a guy flirt with her it took Emmett and her stopping Edward from attacking him and he wasn't drunk. Sober Edward is a saint compared to drunk Edward. He never touches her or harms her but that doesn't mean he doesn't scare her.

Right as she is thinking of an excuse to get away from the guy, she sees Edward coming her way. "Listen buddy, I have a boyfriend who is not going to like this. So please leave me alone," she tells him nervously.

It seems that her message didn't come across as strongly as she hoped it would because the guy reaches to touch her elbow as he says something that is supposed to make him sound like a better option.

It doesn't register in her head because the next thing she sees is Edward charging toward them and knocking the guy flirting with her on his back. He pulls his arm back and punches him in the gut before kicking him in the side.

He jumps on him and gets ready to punch him in the face when finally Bella unfreezes from where she is standing. At lightning speed she finds herself hugging his torso and enclosing his arms in hers to stop him from punching the guy.

"Edward please stop. Please don't do this," She begs him crying not caring that everyone at the party is watching them. She knows that she has no chance of stopping him by sheer force. She is no match to him and the last time she did that he accidentally knocked her on the ground.

She is okay with being embarrassed by him if it means that the love of her life doesn't spend the rest of his life in jail. That is a price she is willing to pay for him any day.

She keeps on repeating those words into his ear and finally she gets to him as his arms slack and he falls into her forcing her to ungracefully fall on her butt. She slowly get off the ground and helps Edward up. Big mistake as the first thing he does is give the man a good kick in the ribs.

"Edward no," she screams as she gets between him and the man he was about to kick again. "Bella get out of my way," he orders her.

"No."

He tries to move her but he overestimates his balance as he almost topples over trying to move her. He tries to do that again and while he doesn't fall over he doesn't manage to move her.

When it becomes clear that he won't win against her he takes her hand and drags her behind him out of the building. Everything that happened after that was a blur.

She tried to get him to let her drive but he refused to let her. When she wouldn't budge and refused to let him get into the driver's side, he punched beside her head in anger. For the first time in her life, she cowered in fear in front of him and stepped back slowly never giving him her back in fear that he would do something in anger.

She stops herself from relieving the rest of the bloody memory of that night. The last thing she needs is to fall apart. Who is going to piece her together if she did? No one should have to. It's been too long. She should have moved on.

Plus, as it turns out, that is not when things got bad. Not if he has been dating Tanya for the last six years. Not when they broke up five years ago.

She hears the door of the patio open and shut then a second later she feels the couch dip beside her. She leans into him and stares into the night as he pulls her head into his shoulder and hugs her. When he picks her up and takes her to her bed, she allows him to make her feel good. She allows herself to feel good, something she has been struggling with lately.

Edward is sitting in front of his therapist as he answers her question, "I did try to be better. For the last two months we were together, I didn't drink, fight anyone, or do anything that bothered her."

She writes something down before she asks, " did you do it cold turkey or is it something you did gradually?"

"Cold turkey."

"Why?"

"I had a dream that scared me," Edward pauses midway through telling her.

He slowly runs his fingertips across the couch and then continues, "We were at this party and a guy flirted with her. I got too aggressive with him and had to be dragged out by her. In my dream, I refused to let her drive and drove drunk. I kept screaming at her instead of focusing on the street and ended up running someone over."

"That's it?" the doctor asks.

"It may sound stupid doctor but the dream felt so real and intense that I had to ask Bella the next morning if it happened."

It was scary. It didn't help matters that Bella that night made an accident and the car had a slight dent in the front. Of course, he does not remember that. Bella is the one who told him what happened after all.

How many of you guys predicted this chapter. I hope I didn't break anyone's heart.

I am going to try to not comment on the parentage of Cece from now on to not spoil the surprise for you guys.
