I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of my story.

Edward drives to his parent's house like he has got the devil on his heels. His confrontation with Eleazar has left him reeling. He doesn't know how to feel or who to trust anymore. None of any of this makes sense. Nothing in his life makes sense anymore.

Is his whole life a lie?

He parks the car haphazardly in front of his parent's house and gets out of it taking the vodka bottle in his passenger seat with him.

Did he drive while drunk?

Of course not.

Did he drink a little bit before getting behind the wheel?

Only a little bit. Don't underestimate him. He is a lawyer. He could lose his license over drunk driving. He knows the exact amount of alcohol he can legally get away with and he didn't exceed it.

Is alcohol a new old addition in his life?

He pleads the fifth.

He takes the bottle with him as he runs up the stairs and rings the doorbell. In less than a minute he takes to pressing the button and not letting go. They are not getting to the door fast enough in his book.

Finally, the door is yanked open by his dad. He marches in and looks around for his mum. "Mum," he yells after looking in all of the rooms on the first floor.

"Where is mum?" he asks his dad who is still standing in the foyer. When his dad doesn't answer him automatically he turns his back on his dad and runs up the stairs looking for his mum.

"Mum. Where are you?" He yells out running around the second floor and yanking open all of the doors of the closed rooms. He finally reaches his old room which has a balcony overlooking the backyard of the family's house. She is not in the backyard.

"She has a client meeting," he hears from the doorway. He turns around and finds his dad looking at him expecting an explanation for his behavior.

Edward hits him with a question instead. "Why did you not tell me from the beginning?" he opens the bottle of vodka and takes a swag from it while looking at his dad.

"You would have heard me if you stuck around long enough to listen."

Edward nods at him as he gulps down the rest of the vodka before suddenly he hurls the vodka bottle at the opposite wall. Shreds of glass fly everywhere.

"What the hell is wrong with you Edward?" Carlisle yells at him.

"Nothing. Everything. Don't know. I am just angry and I need to do something," Edward tells him his hands flailing around angrily. He drops to his knees and starts collecting glass from the ground.

"How many times have I told you to not drop that way on your knees? You will damage them." Carlisle admonishes him as he leaves the doorway and goes on the hunt for a broom to clean the mess Edward made.

It seems the old Edward is back. The one that smashed things and yelled obscenities at anyone that called him out on his shit. Turns out that Edward was never gone.

He was in hibernation.

"Oh dad, save it for someone who gives a fuck about their health," Edward muttered

"I thought you did," Carlisle states.

He watches as Edward takes the broom and cleans the mess he made. After he is done, he notices a shred of glass under his bed and he bends down to pick it up. He pulls away with the shred of glass and a shoe box.

He slowly rises to his feet and seats on the bed with the shoe box on his lap. He opens it carefully like it's china glass he is scared of breaking.

He is hit by many memories all at once. The souvenirs they got from Hawaii when they went there together for his birthday. The picture of them on their first Christmas after she moved in with him. The watch he got from her when he graduated from law school. The card he received from her on their last Valentine's together. The paper she left him behind in the plantless apartment with the word sorry.

The last memory starts a fire in him that boils over as he screams in anger. He picks up the box and starts running down the stairs with it. Carlisle tries to stop him from running down the stair in fear that he will fall but fails. All that he can do is follow him.

Edward starts lighting the fireplace. Carlisle tries to talk to him but he is on a mission. He doesn't reply to him. He doesn't listen to him. Carlisle wonders if his son is even aware of his presence.

He finally manages to grab his attention by standing between him and the fireplace. "Dad get out of my way," Edward mutters. "No, I won't. You are behaving like a lunatic," Carlisle replies as he snatches the box from him.

"Dad give it back. I want to burn it."

"No, I won't. You will come to your sense later and regret doing this. I am doing this for you."

Carlisle walks up the stairs when Edward shouts, "she left me at Eleazar's orders." "Don't be ridiculous," Carlisle replies and continues walking up the stairs.

"I am not. When he found out that Tanya liked me, he offered her 30 thousand dollars and for her to be the head of the landscaping department if she broke up with me and worked in Italy for 5 years."
