I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of my story.
"Tanya," he calls at her before she can open the box and he takes it from her as gently as possible. The last thing he needs is for her to get suspicious and demand to see the content of the box. She can't see the box's content. How would he explain Bella's love letters and gifts?
"I wanted to make a phone call but I needed a pen and paper to write a number on. I found this," she tells him pointing at a pen lying on his desk, "but it is dry. So I thought that maybe the box under your bed has stationary in it," she tells him pouting. He returns the box under the bed and tells her, "make the phone call and put me on speaker. I will write the number on my notes app."
"Ohh no. There is no need. I will just make the phone call once I am back home. I don't want to bother you," she tells him. She replies her pitch rising.
"Bother me?" he asks her as he gives her a side hug and kisses her forehead. "Babe, it's nothing. Just make the call, put it on speaker and I will write the number down."
"Okay," she tells him. She takes out her phone and dials a number then presses call and puts it on speaker. On the fifth ring, a man picks up the call.
"Hello Mr. Cameron. This is Tanya Denali speaking. Thanks for waiting for me to call you back. I am having you on speaker so that my partner cold write down the number. I am at his parents house and I couldn''t find a pen to write with, so my partner had the idea to put the phone on speaker and have him write the number on the notes app," she tells the speaker. He is surprised by all of the information Tanya has just given. She is usually short, straight to the point and has the philosophy of don't give more information than the other party needs. But he dismisses it.
"Umm, okay, just give me a minute to find the paper with the number written on it." They hear rustling on the other side of the call followed by the sound of something falling on the ground and a couple of curse words.
"Mr. Cameron. Are you still on the line?" Tanya asks him embarrassed by the entire ordeal.
"Yes I am," he replies then dictates the number. Once they are done with the phone call he opens the door for her and motions for her to leave through it.
"By the way. You should throw this," she says handing him the pen. He looks down at his hand and is automatically transported to the past.
It is a month after the weird dream he had, that Bella arrives home with a gift for him. She sits in front of him and looks expectantly at him as he holds the cuboid box in his hands and looks at it apprehensively.
"It's not my birthday, our anniversary, or Valentine's Day. What's the occasion?" he asks her.
"What about the fact that I love you. Isn't that enough of an occasion?" she answers.
She watches as he finally unwraps the box and then opens it. Inside he finds a pen and a notepad.
Not sure what it is supposed to mean he kisses her on the lips and tells her, "Thanks love."
"You haven't even tried it yet. You need to try it and see," she replies rolling her eyes at him.
"Is it magical or something?" he asks her.
"Try it and you will see," she tells him sternly and throws a wink at the end.
He tries to open it but fails, so she takes it from him and screws the top of the pen to the left and the tip of the pen comes out. She hands it to him and watches as he writes something down on the paper, or tries to be more precise, since nothing gets written down.
He looks at her not sure what to do when she touches a button at the other end of the pen and a light comes out. "Oh, so it's a flashlight that looks like a pen. Thanks love."
She gives him a look and then takes it from him then focuses the light on the paper which makes what he wrote appear.
"Now, we can write secret notes to each other that no one can read but us," she tells him smiling widely. They spent the next month leaving each other secret letters and notes. Until she left him a sorry one.
"This pen has a sentimental value," he tells her and places it on his desk. He doesn't correct her about it being dry. He doesn't tell her anything else as he puts his arms around her shoulder and leads her down the stairs.
The moment they step out of the back door, they hear a scream of a child.
The distinctive scream of Cece.
