I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of my story.

He runs. He doesn't know when Cece became such an important person to him.

But she is.

He doesn't know if Tanya is running behind him. He isn't bothered enough to know if she is. That should tell him all he needs to know about their relationship but he is not one to read signs, and he hates mirrors.

They need to be waved aggressively in front of his face for him to finally see them and not through them.

He finally spots her under a tree in her parent's arms crying and bleeding. He reaches them right as Bella picks her up and stands up with the help of Marco. "We'll take my car," he tells them.

Somehow, he is calm. Something that surprises even him.

If anyone is surprised by his calm exterior, he won't know. He doesn't bother looking at their expressions.

Usually he goes nuts if anyone dirties his car.

Usually he runs for the hells when he see children crying.

But he doesn't. For Cece's sake he doesn't.

He is not in pieces. He stays put together.

"It's fine man. I can drive," Marco tells him. "No, it's not. Neither of you is fit to drive now. I will take you," he tells them ending the discussion.

He leads them to his car and gets into the driver's seat. By the time he had the engine turned on, the three of them were in the car.

Speeding onto the highway, he asks, "What happened?"

"I fell. I wanted to climb the tree and I fell," Cece cries out.

He looks in the mirror and sees her face twisted in agony. Her hair is in disarray, with one of the pigtails skewed to the other side and the other pigtail not being there. Her cheeks are wet from crying and her eyes are red. Blood is all over her clothes. With her mum holding her in her lap and putting pressure on the wound.

He turns away from the sight that he can't bear to see. It's too much. He is not someone who can see people in pain and handle it well. When he and Bella used to date, her crying or appearing to be in distress was always his breaking point. It was always the thing that will wake him up and help him stop his behavior.

He pulls into the parking lot and before he parks the car, Bella is out of it running towards the ER with Marco at her heels. He keeps circling around till he finds a parking space. He goes to the ER and runs to the nurse's station to find where she is.

"A young girl just came in. Her name is Cecilia. She is wearing a pink dress. Blonde hair half is in a pigtail and green eyes. Where is she?" he asks the nurse sounding out of breath.

"What is her last name?" the nurse asks him.

"I don't know. I, I just bought her in. I drove her parents. I was just looking for a parking space," he pauses rubbing the back of his neck, "Are you sure you did not see her? Blonde hair, green eyes. She just came in. Just five minutes ago."

"I am sorry sure. I can't share anything with you if you are not family. You don't even know the child's last name."

"Listen, my friend just moved from Italy. We lost contact. That is why I didn't attend her wedding or know her husband's last name. I am not a stranger for heaven's sake. I drove them in." His voice kept getting louder that by the end of his rant he was almost screaming.

Looking unfazed, the nurse tells him, " Sire, like I said. I can't tell you anything about her. That is just hospital policy. You don't like that. Take it with the hospital's management. Now please refrain from yelling. There are sick people here who would rather not hear you scream."

Edward leaves the station knowing that he won't get anything out of her. He was too rude. If he was a tad bit nicer he might have managed to persuade the nurse to give him her information. The nurse didn't seem unreasonable. He is the insufferable idiot.

Years of anger management classes and you fail at the first fucking turn?

He starts pacing a couple of feets away from the nurse station. His steps are more similar to an elephant stomping than they are to a normal person's steps. A couple of minutes into him muttering to himself, pulling at his hair, and stomping, he hears his name being called.

He looks to his left and finds Marco. "How is she?" Edward asks him running towards him.

"She is okay. They finished stitching her wound. Now they will start setting her arm," Edward matches Marco's steps as Marco answers him.

"How?" he asks. Before he can finish his question Marco answers him, "Bella told me to come and find you. Apparently, you will yell at the nurse for not giving you any facts, pull at your hair, and curse. I didn't see if the first happen, but I can assist to the fact that the second and the third happened."

His smile at the end tells Edward that he is joking. This puts him at ease. If her dad can joke then Cece's situation can't be bad.

He follows Marco who leads them to the waiting room where they find Bella sitting in one of the chairs with her face in her hands. He goes to rub her shoulder but Marco beats him to it.

It's like a bucket of ice has been spilled on him.

What is he doing here?

He is not family.

He is not a friend. He doesn't know their last name for heaven's sake.

"Hey, Bella I just wanted to tell you that I hope she is doing okay. I will be waiting in my car call me once you are done and I will drive my car to the hospital's entrance and take you back."

He doesn't wait for an answer and walks out of the ward. He is halfway through the parking lot when he hears Bella calling him. He stops and waits as she runs to him.

She is probably here to tell me that I don't have to wait for them. They will figure out their way home. Of course she doesn't want to be indebted to me.

"I need a favor from you."

"Okay, what is it?" Edward asks her

"Cece bled a lot and needs a blood donation. I need you to do it. I would not ask you if I didn't have to. Neither I, nor Marco can donate to her but you can."

Hello lovely people. Hope you liked this update. Tell me what you think in the reviews. If anyone of you has a prediction for the next chapter, which I am sure there is, leave them for me in the reviews. I always love reading them.

Some of you guys noticed Tanya's shady behavior and one of you guys commented on her weird extremely long explanation being shady.

Whether Tanya is a shady character or not remains to be seen in the next couple of chapters. That said, I wanted to comment on that behavior and what it signals.

Adults who feel the need to give a long detailed explanation when there is no need for them signals the fact that as kids they were not believed or taken seriously if they didn't give extremely detailed explanation. Thus, they attach giving long explanations to being taken seriously, believed, and loved as adults. They fear that if they don't give them, they will end up losing those people's love, attention, and support.

Tanya doing that was out of character for her in terms of professional relationships. The jury is still up on whether she does it in her personal life.

Mind you, this is just some food for thoughts, from your resident nerd, and forever raising her hand in the classroom friend.

Thanks for everyone that wished me happy Eid. You guys are the sweetest. Also a special thanks to the person who wished me a happy rid. Autocorrect has switched eid to rid too many times for me not to thank you for your wishes.
