I don't own Twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and the plot of the story.

Author's note at the end of the chapter.

Bella splashes water against her face and then looks up at her reflection in the mirror. She isn't happy. Her argument with her dad has brought so many things to the forefront of her mind that she would rather not think of. She pats her face dry and then leaves the bathroom and goes outside.

"Mummy, can I get ice cream? Edward said he would get me some. Can I? Please, please," Cece chants running in her direction.

Bella runs her fingers through Cece's hair once she attaches herself to Bella's legs and tells her, "You know that Marco and Amanda brought pies with them right?"

"What's pie without ice cream Bella?" Her dad calls from her left. Cece nods her head in agreement with her grandpa putting Bella in an uncomfortable position.

"I don't feel like having ice cream anymore. How about we have that another day and instead go and get the pie from inside?" Edward states saving the day. Bella smiles at him in relief as he takes Cece's hand and leads her to the house.

"What the hell was that?" Bella demands marching toward her dad once Cece was inside.

Her dad shrugs telling her, "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Well then, let me tell you exactly what went down. You undermined my word in front of my daughter," she tells him with her arms twisted across her chest.

He stares at her in silence and she refuses to back down until he does. "God Bella. You don't listen to my words all the time. How is that different?"

Trying to control her voice and failing miserably, she tells him, "The difference is that she is seven and I am twenty-nine. She is a child while I am an adult."

Charlie rolls his eyes and tells her, "You need to chill. I didn't commit a crime. She will be okay with me spoiling her. I am the only grandparent she has."

Bella opens her mouth to say something then closes it. She opens it another time and closes it. She turns around and walks to the porch. She is so angry she could kill her dad. She needs to take a couple of minutes away from everyone or she will blow up on someone.

She sits in the swing and leans back with her eyes closed for a full minute. "Hey, what are you doing here?" She hears Edward tell her following the sound of the door opening.

Bella looks up and finds Edward peering at her. "I needed a break from Dad."

"Would you like me to sit with you?" Edward asks her.

Bella shakes her head and tells him, "Thanks but no. I would like to be alone for some time."

"For what it's worth, I didn't want to take Cece, she kept begging and I didn't want your dad to think that I am cheap with my daughter."

Bella smiles despite Edward leaving and not seeing it. She spots Edward walking to the table and placing the pies on the table and then whispering something to Marco that makes him drop what is in his hand and walk toward her. Bella huffs in irritation. Why couldn't Edward leave things as they were?

She leans back and closes her eyes. If Marco wants to annoy her, he might as well deal with her rudeness.

"What's with Charlie?" he asks her as he drops on the swing beside her.

"He wants me to date," Bella tells him keeping her eyes closed.

"What's wrong with that?" Marco asks trying to understand what the problem is.

"He was telling me that Edward is sorry and he loves me and when I made it clear to him that Edward isn't a choice, he started telling me that I am robbing Cece of a good childhood by not being with someone cause a two-parent household is a prerequisite to a stable childhood."

Bella opens her eyes and studies his face to see what he is thinking. His eyebrows frown in confusion and then his lips thin into a line out of anger.

"He doesn't know the full truth of what happened the way you do, so don't let him guilt you into thinking that you need to forgive Edward when you don't. And about the second part; those with homes of glass shall not throw stones. Just remind him that he never remarried."

Bella nods her head in understanding. The thing is Marco isn't telling her anything new. If anyone had the right to judge the other for not dating, it would be her. She knows that. Rationally, she has a comeback to every comment he could make, but for some reason, in his presence, she loses her ability to defend herself.

"Although Bella, he isn't completely wrong."
