"What just happened? What did you do?" Bella asks turning sharply towards Rosalie who was thoroughly enjoying the food that was supposed to be Edward's.

"I did nothing. He did that all on his own. God, he has shitty taste in food but beggars can't be choosers," Rosalie tells her continuing to eat.

Bella tries to get her attention to understand what she is saying but Rosalie doesn't say more so Bella yanks the plate away from her.

"Hey!" Rosalie mutters looking at Bella.

"I asked you a question. I did nothing is obviously not the answer cause something just happened."

"He is Emmet's brother," Rosalie tells her trying to snatch the plate from her as if that was all the answer she needs.

"That doesn't explain what just happened. I swear to god if you miss up my chance with him I will kill you," Bella threatens Rosalie refusing to hand her the plate.

"I didn't do anything. A year ago he found out that he is adopted. He had a huge fight with his parents, and when Emmet and Alice didn't back him up, he cut us all off, happy?" Rosalie tells her and snatches the plate back from her.

"What do you want from him?" Rosalie asks her as they sit on the porch and watch their kids play.

"What does he want from me?" Bella replies.

"Does it matter?" Rosalie asks her sitting down with the mug in her hand and looking at her.

"What does that even mean?" Bella asks as she looks at her.

Rosalie holds Bella's hand and tells her, "you have an amazing husband, and a beautiful daughter. Don't throw it all away for him. He is not worth it."

"Don't be ridiculous. I wasn't planning on it," Bella replies looking at Cece.

"He won't do it, to begin with. My brother-in-law is too prideful to do that anyways."

They are silent for a couple of minutes then Bella asks Rosalie, "Is he good to Tanya? Does he treat her the same way he treated me or was his shitty attitude reserved for me?" Bella's voice breaks in the middle but she manages to get the second question out.

"Oh sweetie, it was never your fault. None of that was. His behavior is on him," Rosalie says as she gets out of her seat and rushes to hug her.

They hug for a couple of seconds before Bella pulls away from her and tells her, "You didn't answer my question."

"It doesn't matter."

"He treats her better, isn't it? That is why you don't want to answer me."

"It doesn't matter Bella."

"But to me it does. It matters a lot. Every time I tell myself this is it. I am finally rid of him, I wake up from a dream that makes me realize some way he made me feel that I wasn't aware of. Every time I think to myself he couldn't have done to me more than I know of I find something new. I am continuously connecting certain fears, worries, and habits to him in myself. Whenever I speak one-to-one with a stranger even if he is not flirting with me I will still look over my shoulder in fear. That is not normal. Because of him, I will never be normal. So yes it does matter. To me, it does because I am forever scarred by him. I need to know why he did to me what he did."

"Why not ask him?" Rosalie tells her.

Bella gives her a look that makes Rosalie nod her head and say, "Yeah stupid question."

They watch the kids play silently for a couple of minutes then Rosalie answers the question Bella has always had, "he doesn't treat her better. He cares less about her, so she doesn't matter enough to him,", "Don't hit me with this bullshit Rosalie," Bella snaps cutting her off.

"It is true though. When Edward met you he viewed you as his, alone. It was the two of you against the world in his mind, and when you connected with his family all of a sudden you became someone who could be turned against him. He knew that he is not the best boyfriend, the best person period. His shitty behavior became a way for him to control you and make sure you know not to cross him or take his family's side over him. Tanya hardly ever hangs with the family and even a strangger can tell you that she is the more attached partner. She is neither important enough nor likable enough for him to fear losing her."

Bella drinks her tea and is silent for a couple of minutes absorbing what Rosalie told her before she replies, "That is not an excuse. Nothing will ever justify what he did to me. What he did is far worse than physical abuse. It was emotional. That shit runs deep. Nothing is ever going to fix what he did to me."

Rosalie throws her hands in the air as she says, "Come on Bella. It wasn't bad; it was shitty treatment? sure. You had a toxic relationship? Definitely. Were you equally guilty in what happened? No, he was far worse, but it wasn't abuse. You were a victim of many things at his hand but never one of abuse."

Bella laughs sarcastically at her then says, "You just proved that your own point is wrong."

"What point?"

"You claim that Edward was worried to lose me to your side. You just proved that he won't cause your family and I would have never been on the same side. I was no more than an honorary member of the family, not a real member. The moment I said too much about him, something that made you uncomfortable you jumped to his defense. You can only see his flaws when they are something you experienced. The moment what I experienced becomes more than what you did, you undertone it and tell me I was in a toxic relationship. As if a toxic relationship includes being dragged from a party and forced to ride in the car with him driving while drunk and," and then she stops.

She has said too much. She gets up and calls Cece over. Rosalie's horror stricken face turns into an anxious one as she tries to get Bella to stay or talk more but to no avail.

Hello Darlings

First of all, I want to thank every one of you guys who commented. You have no idea how that made me feel.

I also want to address a couple of comments I received.

I am never going to stop writing. The only thing that would stop me from finishing a story is death. Not to sound morbid or anything, it's just that if I write a story it's because I have been thinking about it for a long time and it has a piece of my heart. Also I would never do that to you guys.

Honestly I made my comment in the last chapter cause I was worried that my quality of writing had gone down. I would never do it to guilt trip you or make anyone feel like I am entitled to their comments.

Also a reader commented on Edward being abusive. I have been waiting for a very long time for one of you guys to make that assessment before posting this interaction between Rosalie and Bella. I didn't want to spring it on you guys without any of you making that observation.

So thanks for this person on-point observation about Edward's behavior. Also, you are getting pretty close to why Bella left Edward. You are missing some details and context, but you aren't wrong.
