I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and plot of my story.
Author's Note at the end.
He stands in the room waiting for Tanya to come into the house. Bella left with Cece in the ambulance 10 minutes ago. Marco followed them in his car with their bags. No one aside from him, Jasper and Alice bid them well. It's almost like it was understood that Bella committed some nefarious sin and, thus should be punished.
She has the nerve to have fun in the snow when only an hour ago Bella came close to burying her daughter six feet under it. Of course, she does. Why would a rotten spoiled brat like Tanya do otherwise? God forbid she has some consideration for the woman who's daughter was harmed by her. God forbid she takes a minute to thank her lucky stars that it didn't escalate to something worse. God forbid she thanks her God that Cece isn't dead.
He should have seen that coming. There were so many signs. Even before Bella and Cece came along. There were so many signs that she is capable of harming others. The past head of PR, whose daughter happens to be Tanya's secretary? Now he wonders if she truly left her job willingly. The service people she is always rude to? The fact she has a rule that staff mustn't be heard or seen?
It all combines to form a picture, and it's not a pretty one. He should have said something. He should have stopped her. He should have given her an ultimatum. He should have made it clear that Bella was off-limits. He should have stopped Bella from coming, told her to come up with an excuse, turn around and leave.
Instead, he was too blinded by his rage and jealousy. He chose the easy way out. Bella broke up with me? Okay I will just date someone else. She comes back? I will pretend to be in love with Tanya to make Bella jealous. She has a family? I will go from lovey-dovey with her daughter to an asshole.
Not once did he try to take a closer look at things around him. Not once did he question his action. Now, it has all come back to bite him in the ass. He is done with Tanya. He will not just leave her, he will humiliate her. He may have overlooked some of her misdemeanors, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know where to hit her.
Enough with the dwelling, it's time to pack it and leave. He puts the last thing in his bag and then zips it to leave. He picks his bag and watches from the window until he sees her enter the house with her friends, only then does he leave the room.
Part one: aim for maximum humiliation. If there is anything Tanya hates, it's public embarrassment. The so called friends she has around right now would froth at the mouth to tell everyone they saw her boyfriend breaking up with her.
He walks down the stairs and once he reaches the landing of the ground floor, he drops his suitcase on the floor with a thud. It echoes through the house. It's bound to, the floor is made of wood. He starts rolling his suitcase on the floor and walks toward the front door. He will not sneak out like a criminal. He will walk out like he owns the house.
It takes Tanya less than a minute to notice him, "Babe, what going on?" the smile on her face morphing into a frown. She was laughing at a joke someone was saying.
"What does it look like Tanya? I am going home," he replies dismissively only pausing for a second to reply, not bothering to turn around to answer her.
"A work emergency must have come up," she tells the people around her, "No it's not. I just realized that this is the last place I wanna be in," he corrects her pausing in his spot and turning around to face her.
"If you don't wanna be here, I don't either. I don't wanna be in a place you're not in. Wait for me to pack," she tells him sweetly.
"Don't bother, I would rather be out as soon as possible and you take too long to pack," he mutters dismissively as he turns around and continues towards the front door.
"I won't take that long. Wait for me," she replies as she drops what is in her hand and walks towards the stairs.
"I won't wait Tanya. Catch a ride from someone else."
"Nonsense I came with you and I will leave with you," she tells him stubbornly.
"For heavens sake Tanya read the room. I want to go home alone, and when I say alone I mean that I don't want you to ride with me," he burst at her as he throws his hands in the air.
"Edward Anthony Cullen, is this a way to talk to your girlfriend, what crawled up your ass?" she yells at him. At this point the people in the room are whispering to themselves, some of them are even on their phones like they are straight out of a bad high school movie. You couldn't make that shit up if you tried.
"You did. That is why I want to ride alone. I don't want you in my car. I don't want you in my house, and I definitely don't want you in my life."
It is as if someone slapped her. She is shocked for a minute and the color drains from her face. for a second he assumes that she will go down the rational path and talk him out of breaking up with her, but of course she doesn't. She might have done that had they been alone, but in front of people, Tanya is above pleading and begging.
"Okay then. Get out," she tells him right as the back door opens and Eleazar, Jasper, and Alice walk in.
"What is going on? We could hear your loud noises from outside?" Jasper asks.
"Jasper, Alice pack. We are leaving," Edward orders them ignoring the question asked.
Jasper opens his mouth to speak, but Alice whispers something in his ear and pulls him toward the stairs that he climbs with her.
"What's going on?" Eleazar asks in a serious tone.
Edward ignores him and pulls his mobile phone out of his pocket trying to look busy. He has not forgotten that Eleazar has lead on his daughter to believe that there was something between him and Bella. He hasn't forgiven him for his part in it. He won't. He hears Eleazar ask the question another time, and Tanya answers him reluctantly that he just broke up with her.
Eleazar asks him why and Edward finally replies, "Because your daughter is a psychotic Bitch."
Tanya's face turns an impossible shade of red and she runs toward him and raises her hand to slap him, but he stops her at last minute by holding her arm. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Tanya pulls away and after a couple of yanks he drops her arm.
"Now son, I won't allow you to speak about my daughter that way under my roof. Have some manners," Eleazar says. While his voice is steady and calm his eyes betray him. They don't hide the rage he is feeling quiet well. They warn him to tread carefully, but he is fed up with taking pointers from the Denali family.
"But you must. When you allow your daughter to behave like a psychotic bitch you can't stop people from calling her that," Edward replies shrugging at the end.
"You son of a bitch!" Tanya screams and her dad holds her back from attacking her again.
"Tanya enough I need to understand what he is talking about," her dad reprimands her.
"Are you really going to listen to any thing he says after he insulted me dad?" Tanya questions turning to face her dad.
"Afraid he might find out what you did?" Edward taunts her. That gets the attention of everyone in the room.
"Shut up," Tanya spits turning around to face him and folding her hands against her chest.
"Oh no Tanya, you don't get to act like a stupid bitch and a psychotic one, and then tells me to shut up," he replies.
"Edward stop beating around the bush and tell us what happened between you two," Eleazar demands. Edward barely stops himself from laughing loudly. He truly thinks that he has room to make demands. He is having too much fun with this.
"It wasn't between the two of us," Edward replies checking a message he received.
"Then what the fuck Edward is all of this about!" Tanya screams in frustration.
"I will tell you what this is about," he pauses to return his phone to his pocket, "This is about the fact that Miss I head the PR department promised Bella that all of Cece's dishes will be peanuts free and couldn't do that since the kid almost died from a plate she promised Bella in front of me has no peanuts."
"I didn't mean it,", "You can't hold her accountable because of an honest mistake," Both Tanya and Eleazar react.
"Edward, I think we should take this to a more private place. Obviously, you both have misconceptions about the others. There is no need for everyone to be purvey of the intimate details of your private life," Eleazar rationalizes while pointing outside.
Edward ignores him and continues, "What about the fact that miss 'I never make mistakes, and if I do, I don't mean them' decided to steal Cece's allergy kit from Bella's room and hide it in ours so that she could play the fucking hero?"
"You fucking bitch!" Alice -who just reached the landing on the ground floor- screams before she lunges at Tanya. Jasper springs into action and pulls her back before she can do any damage beyond messing Tanya's hair.
The look of shock on Tanya's face is all the conformation he needs. Had he been wrong, it would have been denial. A part of him wished he was wrong. The part of him doesn't want to own up to everything wrong he has ever done. The part of him that is ready to fix his mistakes and move on knows he is right.
He turns and walks out of the door with Jasper and Alice by his side. He walks down the steps of the doorway and turns on the car. He opens the backseat of his car and places his suitcase in it.
"Edward can we talk please?" a timid voice near the front door of the house says. He turns to find Tanya standing with her back hunched and tears streaming down her face.
"You've to be got fucking kidding me. Bitch he wants nothing to do with you. Do you want me to beat that into your head?" Alice exclaims after throwing her hands in the air and turning to glare in Tanya's direction.
"Alice," Edward says in a warning tone as he raises his hand up and walks toward Tanya.
Once he reaches her says, "I know that you put the peanuts in the plate on purpose and you hide the kit not to play the hero but to rather have one above her and this whole thing was done to scare her into submission. I am not stupid Tanya. The only reason I lied is because a small part of me despite everything else wants to protect you and knows that the knowledge of what I know being put out there would be the end of you."
She cries harder as he speaks and holds his hands and mumbles, "Please, please don't leave me. I didn't mean it. I meant no harm. I wasn't thinking. Please don't punish me for a moment of weakness and stupidity. Consider it a relapse of judgment, a moment of lunacy if you will but please don't leave me. You are the most important person in my life. You are the love of my life. I don't know what I would do without you." she cries harder when she says the last sentences and keeps looking at the ground and refuses to meet his eyes.
A couple of seconds pass before Edward finally says, "Done?" She nods her head while sniffing.
He drops her hand and walks away to the sound of her cries that he doesn't pay any mind. Once he pulls out of the parking lot he sees her fall to her knees through the rearview mirror.
He has no love left in his heart for her, but if being a lawyer has taught him anything, it's to never burn all of your bridges. That is why he lied about protecting her, because a part of him has a feeling that he hasn't seen the end of Tanya yet.
Hello lovely people!
First of all, this is the longest chapter I have updated in this story ever. It is over 2000 words so please give it some love. It wasn't an easy chapter to write.
Now I know that some of you were expecting punches to be thrown- and I am sorry to disappoint- but all of the characters are adults, and adults don't solve their problems in the playground. They solve them off the playground. I hope for the most part you are happy with the result.
The next chapter will be an exciting one. Some of your questions will be answered and new and interesting events will happen. I hope you guys are as excited to read it as I am to write it.
Tell me your thoughts in the review section. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Till my next update,
Stay Safe.
