Chapter Sixteen – John Cena's Theory
September
The McMahon estate, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The Hurt Business got out of Shane McMahon's town car and held the door open for Sasha Banks while Shane checked his phone.
"That's weird," he said as Sasha reluctantly got out of the grey black Lincoln with her sunglasses on and no smile on her face as Bobby Lashley offered her his hand.
"What's up boss?" MVP said.
"The Head of SWOT was supposed to message me, he said his team had located Seth and the God Girls but there's been no update from him since yesterday," Shane replied but MVP was talking to him.
"Actually, Shane I was talking to your daughter," MVP said. "The Legit Boss,"
Sasha knew MVP was just trying to make her feel better. The Hurt Business had assisted her father in forcing her to leave New York for Florida and MVP just wanted her to smile and look pretty. After all she was pregnant and had been separated from her husband Seth Rollins for a while now.
"I'm sure she's fine Montell," Shane said. "I have bigger fish to fry right now, looking after my spoiled daughter is not high on my priority list. I wanna know what happened in New York,"
"If you don't mind me asking Mr McMahon, why are we in Fort Lauderdale? We could have just stayed in New York and let the Head of SWOT meet us there," Cedric Alexander said.
"I have some unfinished business to take care of right here in Fort Lauderdale," Shane said as Linda McMahon opened the door to greet her son and his uninvited guests.
"Sasha," Linda McMahon said with a smile and she opened her arms to her granddaughter. "I'm so glad to see you,"
Sasha hesitantly hugged her grandmother but it was weird sharing a sentimental moment given the circumstances. The last thing Sasha wanted to do was hug, she wanted to know if Montez Ford was still alive and not bleeding all over his New York City apartment thanks to the monstrous attack from Omos.
"Hey grandma," Sasha said.
"Come inside, please help yourself to some of Jeff's peach herbal tea," Linda said and Sasha's eyebrow raised.
"Are Steph and Jeff here?" she asked curiously and Linda nodded.
"I have guests, of which my son is not one. Please come inside," Linda said to Sasha while Shane found himself being blocked from coming any further into the house by his mother. "Not so fast son, we can talk right here. I don't want any drama between you and your sister,"
"Whatever she said is a lie!" Shane spat and he glanced over into the family room and saw Stephanie and Jeff Hardy embracing Sasha while Austin Theory and John Cena looked on. "What's going on mom?"
"I've been conducting a little family business and rather than see you lose your rag and force me to call the police, I'll just tell you about it now so you can leave without a fuss," Linda said and Shane McMahon looked at his mother suspiciously.
"What business were you discussing? In a few minutes, the DX family jewels will be back in the McMahon family's possession and I'll be the head of this family once and for all. What could possibly be more important to you than that mom?" Shane said arrogantly.
"You're a stupid little punk," Linda said shaking her head at her son with disappointment. "Do you really think I'd let you get one up on your sister after how you've behaved this year? I'd never let such a misguided man be the face of this family, so I've put somethings in place to make sure that never happens,"
Shane McMahon laughed at his mother, "There's nothing you can do to stop me mom, I hope my sister hasn't been filling your head with nonsense about getting the DX family out of this. I know Steph's got a soft spot for Hunter after all these years but even she can't be that stupid," Shane said cockily and Linda sighed at her son indolently.
Meanwhile as Linda was about to break the news to Shane McMahon that she had written him out of her will, which included the McMahon estate he was there to claim, Stephanie was explaining to Sasha why John Cena and Austin Theory were in the house.
"My mother loved my father and one of the most important things to her is keeping our family legacy intact throughout the generations. So, to ensure things don't fall by the wayside for our family in the future, some changes have been made to the McMahon family trust," Stephanie said and her husband Jeff explained further.
"I talked to my daughter last month and we spent a lot of time together talking about relationships. It turns out that Beth talked to John Cena while planning some WWE events running later in the year. Cena currently lives in LA and has spent a lot of time with the Rock, who has spent a lot of time the DX kids, LC, Cameron, and Faith Star Michaels. Rocky invited the DX kids over for dinner and they were joined by John Cena who had been having a long FaceTime conversation with Austin Theory about what happened with Carla McCool in Connecticut." Jeff explained.
"Turns out that Austin, though he was faking interest in Carla as part of the setup by Shane McMahon against the DX family, had been keeping a pretty big secret. He showed Cena his diary and boy was that thrilling for John to read. Austin's diary had a very interesting entry about Carla after he revealed he was faking his love for her because of Shane McMahon. It turns out that Austin really liked the DX family and Seth and the God Girls and while he was pretending to be in love with Carla McCool, he started to fall in love with her for real!" Stephanie explained and Sasha couldn't believe it.
"Are you serious?" she asked Austin. "You had a Black Heart Diary?"
"Yeah," Austin said. "My diary was full of horrible entries about how stupid Carla was and how rich and powerful I was going to become at the expense of the DX family once Shane McMahon pulled off his master plan. A few weeks later, my diary pages were stained with tears over what I'd done to the woman I love. I'd do anything to get her back and so when John Cena called me, I told him everything and he believed me. So, he called the Rock who told him that he was having LC and Cameron Michaels over for dinner. John saw it as an opportunity to bare my soul to Carla's sister which I did but she didn't believe me. She was still suspicious of me but I couldn't fake how much I regretted what I did. I begged her to forgive me and I asked her if there was anything I could do to bring her around to my side I would do it. So, I told her about Shane's plan to take the McMahon family estate in Fort Lauderdale behind his mother's back. LC told Carla and Carla told Beth who told Stephanie who told her mother. When Linda found out she removed Shane as a McMahon family trustee and put the trustee position up for vacancy,"
"You mean, there's no-one listed as a McMahon family trustee apart from Stephanie right now?" Sasha asked and Stephanie smiled at her niece.
"Actually Sasha, there is someone listed as a trustee with me. Its you, you're the new McMahon family trustee," Stephanie said and Sasha held her chest in shock. John Cena and Jeff Hardy quickly stood behind her to make sure she didn't fall over.
"You mean, this estate is in my name?" Sasha said in disbelief and Stephanie and Linda nodded.
"You're our family Sasha and this is now your legacy," Linda said and she hugged her pregnant granddaughter lovingly. Sasha hugged Linda back completely stunned while Stephanie looked on with glee.
"Now I truly am the Legit Boss," she said emotionally.
"You always were honey, this is just the icing on the cake," Stephanie said.
"Its good to have something that nobody will ever be able to take away from me," Sasha said tearfully and Jeff and Stephanie exchanged glances before looking away from each other.
"Not all things last forever Sasha but this will. You can pass this estate down to the third to fifth generations of your family. You son will always have Roman's legacy to share with you but as a McMahon, this is all yours baby and your baby girl's too!" Stephanie said and Sasha pondered what that meant even though she really didn't have to. As a McMahon trustee, her wealth quadrupled that of Seth and Roman's, which meant her children were exorbitantly wealthier as a result. Though Shane McMahon had tried to turn her birthright into a nightmare, the McMahon women – with a little help from Austin Theory and the DX kids – had turned being a McMahon into the dream it was always meant to be.
"Seth is going to be so happy when he finally comes out of hiding with the God Girls," John Cena said and Sasha's face weakened at the mention of her husband.
"Seth's legacy is not with me John, its with the God Girls and that's fine. Seth has his legacy and now, I have mine," Sasha replied and John Cena and Austin Theory exchanged glances wondering what the Boss meant by that.
"Are Seth and Sasha breaking up?" John Cena whispered to Stephanie who just shrugged Sasha's comment off. After what happened at the courthouse with Hunter in Washington DC she was wondering if Jeff was going to ask her the same question.
"NOOOOOOO!" came the scream from Shane McMahon who had just found out that not only had he been kicked off the family trust board, but the military were also dropping the charges against the DX family, Seth, and the God Girls for misuse of classified government assets. "Those DX jewels are mine, they're mine!" he screamed as the Hurt Business tried to calm him down.
"Its gonna be alright Shane we'll just come up with a new plan!" Shelton Benjamin said but Shane was irate.
"There is no new plan, this was the only plan!" Shane roared until MVP grabbed him by the shoulders to calm him down.
"No boss think, come on, there's always a plan b," MVP said confidently and Shane's eyes lit up knowing exactly where the mastermind of the Hurt Business was going.
"Yes, there's always a plan b," Shane McMahon said and his sour grimace was suddenly now a wicked smile, "Let's go to Texas boys, we've got a date with the Deadman,"
