Chapter Twenty-Five – The Resting Place
The Throne of God
Bianca Belair opened her eyes and looked around, she could feel her feet bare against something and she looked down and saw that she was sitting on the riverbank in some majestic place. Across from where she was sitting was a giant throne where Jesus was talking to his Father. The water flowing from the throne of God was glistening and Bianca was sitting far enough to see them talking but not close enough to hear what they were saying. She couldn't understand as Seth's Treasurer of Secrets how she could always hear what God was saying but, in this place, by the literal throne of God, she couldn't hear anything. What she could see however, was beautiful as it was a glimpse of eternal life.
Should we tell her she's on vacation? God asked Jesus who shook his head that They shouldn't.
"Nah, it'll just make her anxious I'm sure she'll work it out. Let her rest while We talk," Jesus replied.
I don't want her up here Son, Seth needs her God said as Jesus drank from the crystal water running down by the side of God's throne.
"Well, I want her to stay here and rest and what I say goes," Jesus replied gargling the crystal water like it was mouthwash.
I told you not to do that up here God rebuked his Son.
"I had a bad taste in my mouth, must be from all the arguing we've been doing since I sat next to you," Jesus replied.
Well, you were the one who said We should spend some time together outside of work God replied.
"That's not what I said Dad, sometimes I don't think you even listen to me. You're so busy crushing on Your Creation, its like I don't even exist!" Jesus pouted.
I'm your greatest fan, it was My idea to put John 3:16 in the Bible, where would you be without that verse? Just some dude who died on a Cross and went home after three days God said.
"That Cross was not exactly a walk in the park Dad!" Jesus yelled and God sighed.
Here we go again, look I had no choice. Mankind needed a Saviour, so I sent you. Quit acting like saving the world was a demotion, I know you love people just as much as I do. So, I had them nail you to a Cross, at least you got up from the grave and got to see your friends again God said, and Jesus nodded.
"Yeah, not to mention all the cool miracles I got to do, I guess it wasn't so bad," Jesus said then he had a flashback to dying on the Cross and felt bad again, "Nope, still can't get over it, You still owe me Almighty. Bianca stays up here, the coma remains until I say she's ready to go back to Earth," he said, and God sighed.
Fine, but I'm sending Seth back. Where is he anyway God said looking around for Seth Rollins, who was also somewhere by His throne.
"He found Eddie Guererro and they're talking about Dominik Mysterio ripping off his gimmick. Personally, I think Dominik Mysterio's doing a great job, I can really understand where he's coming from. The son living under his Father's shadow, I can really relate to that," Jesus said, and God thumped Jesus on the shoulder. "Really, You're hitting me now?" Jesus said grabbing his arm. "I'm still sore from that Cross you know,"
SETH ROLLINS!
God called for Seth, and he immediately came running around to face Him at the Throne of God after fist-bumping Eddie Guerrero.
"I'm here Sir," God said, and Jesus rolled his eyes at Seth.
"Suck up," he said under his breath and Seth narrowed his eyes at Jesus.
"I can hear you dude," he said, and God wagged his finger at His Beloved Son.
I'm sorry Seth we're trying to reconnect, Emmanuel has some challenges with being my Son, don't you, Manny? God teased Jesus who went red with embarrassment.
"How many times have I told You not to call me that in front of people?!" Jesus complained and he folded his arms and slouched on his throne.
Sit up straight Jesus God said and as always, Jesus obeyed, and Seth tried not to laugh at the Father-Son dynamic.
"Man, I hope I get on better with my daughter than you Two," Seth said.
About that, God said to Seth, I need you to go home to Sasha He said.
"Okay that's fine but what about Bianca? I saw her as I was coming over here, is she coming back with me?" Seth asked.
God gave Jesus a look of disapproval, though I think it's highly unnecessary, my Son thinks Bianca should stay up here and "rest" God said making air quotes. Personally, I think she's rested enough, and she should go back to Earth with you to complete My latest assignment. My Son however thinks otherwise.
"If Bianca goes back with you, she'll just end up back here in a few days. You can handle this new assignment without her Seth," Jesus said but Seth didn't agree.
"Actually JC, I agree with your Dad. I want Bianca to come back to Earth with me. If this next assignment is as bad as you said it's going to be, I'm going to need all the help I can get," Seth said.
"You've got four other Girls Seth, plus Becky is stepping up to the plate," Jesus said but Seth shook his head.
"I love the other Girls but they're not-"
-Black, God said finishing Seth's thought.
"What? No, that's not the reason why, she's my right-hand Girl and I depend on her. Ever since she became my Treasurer of Secrets, we've gotten really close and I don't think Becky could replace her," Seth said.
"No-one's replacing Bianca Belair, I'm going to repair Bianca Belair. She has undergone a lot of damage in the past year, and I need to restore her before I let her go back, if I let her go back at all," Jesus said, and Seth panicked.
Hey, there's no panic up here Seth Rollins, God admonished Seth, don't you trust My Son's judgement on this?
"No God I don't," Seth replied honestly, "The God Girls and I are a team, without Bianca, we just won't be as effective. How long is she gonna be up here with you Lord?"
"Five months," Jesus said, and Seth's eyes widened with panic.
I said don't do that, God admonished Seth again, you can't go five months without the EST?
"Seth, please understand that I have to take care of all of my servants and Bianca is burned out. I'm not taking her away from you, I'm bringing her back to you in the best possible condition. After five months I'll review her progress and then We'll call you back up here with an update on her condition. If I feel that she's not at the place where she needs to be in order to resume her role as the Treasurer of Secrets, then we'll have to find another God Girl for you to train to take over from her," Jesus said, and Seth felt a cross between anger and grief.
"Please don't take Bianca away from me," Seth said, and God zeroed in on Seth's request.
Okay I'm just gonna say it, God said but Jesus put his hand over God's mouth so Seth couldn't hear what God was about to say. I don't need a mouth to speak Son, I can talk through that turtle right there on the riverbank.
Seth looked down at the cute turtle now approaching his bare feet as it looked up and started talking to him, "You're too close to Bianca Belair," the turtle said. "If you continue to let your feelings cloud your judgement, you will come dangerously close to having what you Earth dwellers call an "emotional affair." Up here, we call it adultery and that is a sin. Give Becky Lynch a chance to lead the God Girls, even though, that in itself will be a battle for the fiery red head, as you are about to see,"
Seth frowned at the talking turtle, "What do You mean by that?" he said but before the turtle could respond, Seth was back in his natural body about to wake up from a coma after weeks of being in the hospital.
Jesus waved at the turtle affectionately, "I think I like him better than You Dad," he said to God.
Well why don't you worship him? God reacted as Jesus called the turtle to him. You stay right there turtle, God said to the turtle who looked annoyed at God's tone. One more look like that and I'll cast you out of here God warned the turtle much to Jesus' disapproval.
"Seriously Dad, You can be such a pill," Jesus said, and he jumped down off his throne to play with the turtle and go see Bianca who hadn't seen or heard any of the conversation that just took place between the Godhead and Seth Rollins. The Holy Spirit dulled her hearing so that the only voice Bianca could hear was His. Her soul was in Heaven with Them though her body was in a hospital bed in California. While Seth would explain what was going on to everyone concerned about her, that would be the furthest thing from Bianca's mind for the next few months. All that mattered was the health and wellbeing of one of Jesus' favourite servants and Seth's favourite God Girl. Whether Biancca would rejoin the God Girls after Jesus had restored her back to maximum health was yet to be seen.
After the Royal Rumble in San Diego, Becky Lynch licked the blood from her lips as it poured onto her mouth from the side of her head. The Women's Champion had retained her Championship, but it was against a ferocious Rhea Ripley, who smashed her against the steel steps and gave her a Rip Tide on the announcersannouncers' desk. She sat in the medical room for about two seconds before leaving the arena with the rest of the God Girls. Despite the pain now throbbing through her body, Becky's mind was elsewhere as were the minds of the other God Girls.
"Let's go," she said walking past the women's locker room where Charlotte, Alexa and Bayley were waiting for her. The other wrestlers stood on their feet and applauded Becky as she stood before them, bleeding from the head down and looking every bit like the warrior that she was.
Though she nodded in appreciation of their salute, what they thought about her performance didn't matter. It didn't matter to Becky if they thought she was a warrior or not, all that mattered was what her husband Finn Balor thought.
"Becky wait up," Finn called to her from gorilla and Becky turned as her husband ran towards her concerned.
"I have to go to the hospital to check on Seth and Bianca," Becky said, and Finn nodded.
"I know and I'm not going to stop you. I'm so proud of you and I want you to know that I support you as leader of the God Girls," Finn said, and the other God Girls smiled at Finn's words. It was just what Becky needed to hear. "But I need you to do one thing for me before you go," Finn said.
"What's that?" Becky asked smiling at Finn.
"I want to pitch an idea for Wrestlemania, where you face Rhea Ripley one more time only there will be a stipulation where if you win, you get to lead Judgement Day with me and if Rhea loses, she's out of the Judgement Day," Finn said, and Becky shook her head.
"I don't want anything to do with Rhea Ripley, the answer is no," Becky said and Finn's face hardened, clearly it wasn't the answer he wanted from her.
"This is not up for debate Rebecca. I need you by my side and if you're going to be leading the God Girls out of the ring, I need you by my side when we're in the ring," he said firmly and he kissed his wife's bleeding head. "'Til death do us part Becky, its time you lived up to your side of this marriage. Call me when you've made your final decision,"
Becky stormed out of the arena with the God Girls furious that her husband had given her an ultimatum and the God Girls understood her frustration but as soon as they were within feet of the hospital, all issues were reduced to irrelevance. The presence of God surrounded them as they entered Seth and Bianca's hospital room and the peace of God flooded Becky's mind as she saw Seth sitting up holding Bianca's hand as she remained comatose. Instead of throwing her trusty bucket of ice water over his shoulders, Becky through her arms around Seth and cried along with the rest of the God Girls. Their joy at seeing Seth was short-lived as they realized Bianca was not moving.
"Why isn't she getting up?" Alexa said holding Bianca's hand with tears in her eyes.
"I can answer that question Alexa," came the ice-cold voice of Sasha Banks as she stepped into the hospital room with her daughter in her arms. "Because Tez is better off without her,"
Becky Lynch gawked at Sasha with disgust, "Dear Lord woman, have you no shame?! Bianca is right here; you can't say that?!"
"I can say whatever I want I'm not the one with the brain-dead spouse. It won't be long before Tez pulls the plug and moves on with his life," Sasha said, and Seth clenched his jaw holding in his anger at his wife's awful words. "As for you Seth Rollins, I want nothing but good things for you. Now that you've returned to the land of the living, you can take your place in our home and we can build our future as a family, minus these pesky God Girls,"
"Um honey," Seth said almost sheepishly as Becky and the other God Girls glared at Sasha Banks. "The God Girls aren't breaking up. Bianca might still be in a coma but that doesn't mean that the God Girls are done,"
"So, who's going to lead them, and don't you dare say you will," Sasha said fiercely, and Becky put her hands on her hips defiantly.
"And what if he does?" she asked argumentatively.
"Pipe down Becky," Sasha snapped.
"I will not pipe down, I'm the new leader of the God Girls," Becky said, and Sasha laughed in her face. "What's so funny?" Becky asked her offended.
"You are, oh you're a riot Becky!" Sasha said and she touched Becky's bruised face. "You might be a fighter, but you are not the new leader of the God Girls,"
Seth furrowed his brow at his wife, "What are you talking about, Bianca and I already told ATM that if anything happened to us, we wanted Becky to lead the God Girls," he said.
"Yeah, but that was before you decided to run away to Bianca's bedside instead of coming home to me after your match at Survivor Series last year," Sasha said maliciously. "I really didn't wanna do this just moments after you got out of your coma but there's no point in delaying the inevitable. I just hope what I'm about to tell you doesn't put you back in a coma Seth,"
"What have you done?" Seth asked Sasha in apprehension of what his wife was about to say.
"I talked to an old family friend, and he agreed with me that you were overstepping in your role as leader of the God Girls and your actions have caused a detrimental effect on both my marriage and Bianca's. So, we talked, and he decided it would be best if the God Girls came under a less controversial leader, someone with less marital hang ups and more sensible instincts that wouldn't put any said God Girl in the hospital. So, as from Monday morning, the God Girls will be the intellectual property of Beth Hardy and the leader of the God Girls in Bianca's place will be Bayley," Sasha said, and the God Girls looked over at Bayley in shock. "From next week Seth, Bayley will be your new right-hand Girl,"
"Like Hell she will, Bianca and I chose Becky!" Seth snapped.
"You just came out of a coma I'd be surprised if you could even spell your name right now. I don't see what the big deal is Seth, one God Girl is as good as another right?" Sasha said. "Bianca's out of commission, Becky's got marital hang ups, who better than the future mother to another Samoan hottie to lead this group?"
"You went behind our backs," Charlotte snapped at Bayley. "When were you going to tell us about this?"
"I didn't know when Seth was going to wake up, I didn't have a chance to say anything. It was Rocky's idea, he could be running the WWE with Beth Hardy soon, this could be good for everyone," Bayley said, and Sasha nodded.
"See? She's already thinking about the bigger picture. Not everything is about God Seth, some things are just business and this, in my aunt Steph's words, is what's best for business, just like Becky dropping the title to Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania but we can talk about that later," Sasha said, and Becky gasped at the Boss.
"What? You're booking Wrestlemania now? Who the Hell have you been talking to? Who gave you the authority to…" Becky stopped herself realizing that she had just answered her own question. "Dear God, you're gonna take over the business, aren't you? That's what all this is about,"
"Take a chill pill Rebecca, this is not time to go off the handle. Seth is back and Bianca clearly needs more beauty sleep, so let's leave the loneliE S T to her rest and go home, wherever that is for you because it sure won't be at my house," Sasha said, and she handed Seth his baby girl who started glowing as a result of making contact with her father.
The God Girls exchanged concerned words as Seth and Sasha headed out and Becky watched as Sasha drew her husband out of their lives once again.
"You think Sasha's really going to take over the business?" Alexa said.
"Guys don't overreact let's just let things play out," Bayley said, and Charlotte and Becky scowled at her.
"Why should we listen to you? You've been plotting against me and Bianca because you wanted to lead the God Girls," Becky said.
"Well, the decisions been made alright? I'm the new leader and that means you have to listen to me," Bayley said and suddenly Bianca's braid rose up and wrapped itself around Bayley's neck. "Help me!" Bayley cried and as she started to lose consciousness, the other God Girls smiled to each other.
"Not until you step down as so-called leader," Charlotte said as Bianca's braid continued to cut off Bayley's oxygen. "Give it up Judas, or Bianca's braid will put you in the morgue!"
"Okay I give up the leadership role, let me go you stupid braid!" Bayley snapped and the braid let her go and Bayley fell to the ground gasping for air.
Becky smiled as Bayley tried to catch her breath, "You ain't going to be in this coma for long and until then, I promise you I will not let Sasha and her new allies ruin what we spent so long creating. Bayley will fall in line, and I won't let you down. See you soon Bianca, say hello to the King of Kings for me," she said, and she kissed Bianca's braid as it rested back by her side.
Charlotte and Alexa gave Bayley some water and a disapproving look and the God Girls led her in a prayer of repentance before making themselves comfortable as they slept in, deciding not to leave Bianca's side. As Becky turned to sleep, she saw a turtle on the bed that Seth had been in.
"What's your name?" Becky said, reaching for the turtle.
"I'm God's turtle, but you can call me GT for short. Seth was supposed to give me to Perfection to keep her company until Bianca wakes up, but I guess he forgot. He's not been himself since Bianca's not around, hopefully you can give me to her daughter instead. God wants me to be her therapy turtle while Bianca's in Heaven," the turtle said, and Becky nodded.
"We're all a little out of sorts without Bianca but I'd be happy to pass you on, as long as Tez will let us see Perfection. I don't know what that dope has planned but I know his daughter shouldn't have any part of it," Becky said, and the turtle curled up next to her. "So, is she okay?" she asked the turtle referring to Bianca.
"Of course, she is, she's in Heaven. Why wouldn't she be?" the turtle replied.
"Is she coming back?" Becky said, tearing up at the idea of never seeing Bianca again.
"I can't tell you that but trust me you're going to make her proud. You said it yourself, Seth and Bianca don't make mistakes," the turtle said, and Becky's face hardened while the other God Girls prayed.
"I thought that was true until Sasha showed up, she's living proof that we all make mistakes," Becky said.
"Yeah, she's a handful but she's also Seth's wife so you have to stick by his side and not attack Sasha," the turtle said, and Becky smiled.
"You really don't know me at all do you GT? Attacking Sasha Banks is what I do best," she replied, and the turtle sighed.
"That's why God assigned me to Perfection and not the God Girls. I guess I'm just better with kids," he said.
"I'll take you to her tomorrow," Becky said, and she rested her head on the pillow and tried to sleep but it wasn't easy. So much was going to happen tomorrow. Tomorrow, she was going to leave the hospital without Bianca. Tomorrow, she was going to tell Finn Balor that she would take over as leader of the Judgement Day because as far as she was concerned, Rhea Ripley was going down. And tomorrow, she was going to give a newborn baby girl a turtle from Heaven and resist the urge to punch Montez Ford in the face. Tomorrow was a big day for the God Girls but the day after that was an even bigger day for Sasha Banks as it would be the resurrection of an old faction and the birth of a new level of evil, one like Seth and the God Girls had never seen before.
