I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and plot of my story.
Author's Note at the end.
He cups her face with his hands as he kisses her. He poured everything that he is into that kiss. She can feel every cell in her body vibrate as he holds her heart in the palm of his hand. It is hell and heaven. She feels like she is being burnt to her core only to have water drench her and save her at the last minute. That sense of cold is all she needs to make her put her foot down.
She pulls her lips away from his face, and before he knows it, she is slapping him hard on the face. She doesn't stop at that, she punches him in the gut, and when he bends forward and moans out in pain, she knees him in the groin for extra measures. She crosses her arms across her chest and steps back to watch as he moans out in pain with a big smile on her face.
She isn't above getting a kick out of watching him in pain.
After five minutes, and with great difficulty, he stands upright and moans out, "What the hell?"
"You said that I can punch you everyday, I decided that now is the ideal time to do so. Same time tomorrow?" She asks over her back as she walks towards the door of the club.
He realizes then that his genius idea back fired and tries to reach to her as he mutter, "Bella please,", "Don't. Just don't," she cuts him off turning back to glare at him.
"You keep saying that I love you and I should leave Marco and choose you. My answer is never in a million years would I choose you over him. Do you know why?" she demands.
She does not wait for him to answer and continues, "Because he would never do what you just did. He isn't you and that's precisely why I love him and hate you," she mutters then storms back into the club.
She drags her feet up the stair then walks towards the seating and throws herself into Marco's arms. Like always, Marco meets her halfway and hugs her back just as fiercely.
"Is everything okay?" He asks her with concern.
She raises her head off his chest to meet his eyes and says, "I hate it here. When cam we leave?"
"God I thought you would never ask," he tells her then he helps her get to her feet. They both say goodbye and wave at everyone before they walk down the stairs together. They look around for Tanya but don't find her. Any other time, Bella would have looked harder for her; they are on a mission and need to play nice, after all, but not this time. She would rather be dunked in an ocean with the fishes than stay here a second later.
Marco spots Edward as they step outside but Bella stops him from speaking to Edward and steers him left toward the car.
"I don't need help getting buckled in Bella, I can do that on my own," Marco points out after she helps him get in the passenger seat and leans into the car. She gets a look of surprise on her face as if she was just in a trance and only realised what she was doing. She kisses him on the lips, but keeps it short and sweet because all of a sudden it feels wrong.
She walks to the other side of the car and gets into the driver's seat and pulls out of the parking lot after buckling in. Throughout the car ride, she keeps repeating in her head what happened and asks herself why did she allow this kiss to last for even a second?
She doesn't have an answer. She searches her memory for something that could explain why this kiss felt memorable. After all, that wasn't always like that between them. Their kisses didn't feel as good as this one did. Two minutes into the drive home, she decides to tone this thoughts out and focus on her mantra.
You had to do this. It was your only choice. Even if Eleazar didn't force you to leave, you were bound to leave him because you would have figured out that nobody deserves this.
That's the thing. She doesn't even need to believe that she deserves better. All she needs to know is that no one deserves such treatment. Sometimes she wonders if she deserves better. After all, who lives on the grey cliff side of an emotionally damaging past lover who caused them pain, when they could swim in the golden ocean with someone that loves them.
She feels her hand being picked and looks to her right and finds Marco staring at her as he lifts her hand to his lips and kisses it. She smiles at him but then turns to the street as her smile turns wistful.
This is another reason why she wants to leave as soon as possible. She was happy in Italy, with a man that worshiped the ground she walks on. She was delighted. She was satisfied. Now; she is neither. She is turning into this angry creature that is constantly frustrated and torching anyone who would dare to do anything that doesn't appeal to her sensibilities. She even blew up at Cece for leaving the fridge open. She is turning into someone she despises. It can't be right for her.
"Sweetie, you know that you can talk to me about anything, right? You don't need to bottle it all up. You are not alone, not anymore, and not on my watch."
She looks up at him and nods her head as she turns the ignition off. He gets out of the car, and she follows him. She wants to both cry and go to snap Edward's neck. She has always felt alone. Even when she and Edward had their honeymoon stage when nothing could go wrong. It still felt like she had to tuck herself into her smallest sized dress or she would be taking too much space. It felt like he was bigger than life and how dare she take more space than the passenger seat. She was always walking on eggshells and felt like she couldn't talk to him about a lot of things.
Thing is; she never said any of that to Marco. She didn't tell him about the crippling loneliness she had been feeling since she could ever remember, yet he figured all of that out on his own. He didn't need her to spell it out of him. He is ideal for her. He understands her on a visceral level that she personally doesn't.
Problem is; she is still feeling as lonely as ever.
Thanks to Edward.
