I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and plot of my story.
Author's Note at the end.
Minutes, maybe hours pass as Edward sits frozen in the spot Bella left him in staring at the USP she left on the table behind her. He wants to take the USP and see what is on it, just to prove to himself that her claims are false.
She probably has a photoshopped video on it.
He runs his fingers through his hair in frustration then gets off the couch and goes to the kitchen to drink some water. As he gulps the water his eyes fall on the USP that's on the table and he feels a rage bubbling out of him only interrupted by a searing pain shooting through his hand as the glass in his hand crumbles from the pressure of his fist. The rest of the glass drops to the ground and blood trails after him as he rushes to the sink to wash his hand.
"Fuck," he screams out loud as blood keeps flowing from the wound in his hand. Shutting the water, he runs to the in-suite bathroom of his bedroom and opens the medicine cabinet in it, then searches for the first aid kit.
He looks around. His hand stopped bleeding once he wrapped it in gauze, but it doesn't cover the fact that his house looks like a crime scene. There is blood everywhere; in the kitchen, the bathroom, and his bedroom. It looks like someone dragged him around and deliberately made him bleed everywhere. Except that he feels too numb to feel anything and he is left like a blind man shooting in the dark hoping what he thinks is real turns to be real.
He looks around and sees a place that looks more like him than he looks like himself. He sees a cold blood bath that looks more dead than alive. When was the last time he redecorated? When was the last time he changed the position of the furniture? When was the last time he looked around and asked himself what he wants for his place?
He know the answer; before Bella left. The place is still how it was before she left because the empty space she used to occupy has more value to him empty than anything anyone could fill it with. That emptiness meant too much for him to change it. Everything is exactly the way she left it. He didn't want her to come back and not know her way around. Till this day, he was holding on to the hope that she would come back to him, but everything around him is telling him otherwise. He needs to stop being niave and face the facts.
What if she isn't lying, a small voice inside of him whispers as he returns to the living room. No, he won't believe that. Edward won't believe that crap. Where is the victim? If there was a real victim he would listen to Bella's claim.
She is lying. Bella is lying. She knows that she can no longer hide behind Eleazar and chose to make up this lie. She realized that his love for her goes beyond everything, and decided to use it against him. He is no longer letting her get away with that. Not anymore.
Once he spots the USP he knows what he needs to do. Before he can give himself time to think a loud smash rings in the air. There, now he won't doubt himself. He drops to the ground to collect the pieces of the smashed USP.
"Fuck it. I will clean later," he mutters to himself and gets off the ground sending Seth a message to meet him in the bar near his apartment.
"Seth, finally you are here. Maybe now I will have fun now," Edward slurs as he sways on his feet once he stood up to greet his friend.
"With how drunk you are I think you had too much fun," Seth replies as he helps his friend sit down. He grimaces as he smells the alcohol and he asks you, bartender, for water.
Edward shakes his head then he tells Seth, "I can't pick any girl. I psyche myself but then I become a chicken shit or Ostrich. It's very sad. Say that you will help me." Edward begs him at the end. His pain is palatable. He was supposed to be invincible. In his head, he is a hero and a lion. He is the person people go to when they need help. He is the Don Juan of the decade, not because he wants to be but because he can.
He is none of that. Oh how the mighty have fallen. His ex tells him that he is a murderer and in spite of that he is still pining after her and can't seem to get a girl to even look at him.
Seth frowns at what Edward is saying and replies, "I thought that you want to be worthy of Cece and Bella. You think drinking and picking up girls is the way to go?"
Edward snorts and then rolls his eyes telling Seth, "I have a better chance at making Lillith pick Adam than Bella ever thinking I am worthy." And that is the most pathetic part of the story. He knows like the back of his hand that she doesn't want him. He knows now that since she is willing to make up such lies about him, there is no them, there is only him. Him, the idiot that once believed that he could let go, forgive, and move on, when the person he wants to move on with isn't willing him honesty.
Seth sighs loudly and then suggests to Edward, "Okay, how about I take you home and you can tell me all about this tomorrow? I will even sleep over at your place."
Edward shrugs then tells him, "What's the point. Talking won't fix anything."
"It's better than causing yourself kidney failure. At this point, you would need dialysis within a year. You think Cece would be up to donating you a kidney?"
Before Seth could blink, Edward was up and swinging except that his aim is terrible and he misses by a couple of inches.
"How dare you? Don't jock about my daughter like that again," Edward yells.
"I had to say something that would get you out of your chair. You think I want to carry your drunk ass to the car?"
"You didn't mean that?" Edward asks hopefully.
"Of course I didn't," Seth replies assuringly.
"You better not mean that because my daughter will never go under the knife because of my stupidity," Edward vows.
Hello lovely people,
I hope you enjoyed this chapter of the story.
One reviewer asked how is Bella both an architect and an FBI agent. The answer is simple. She studied to be an architect in university. Once she moved to Italy and started to plot for revenge, through her dad's connection as an FBI agent, she get the training required and joined. Mind you, Bella didn't have an interest in a long-term career. All she wanted to do was to go after the Denalis and have the FBI's backing and the only way for that to happen is for her to be an agent.
Will Bella and Edward end together? Will Bella and Marco stay together?
Answering those questions would be a spoiler so I will refrain form answering and leave the story itself to answer you. All I can tell you is that in theory, it can go either direction and no, it won't be a polyamorous relationship. I am not that unconventional.
