I don't own twilight. What I own is my character's behavior, personality, background, and plot of my story.
Author's Note at the end.
"Thank you for a agreeing to meet me," Edward tells her smiling from his bed his voice weak from the lack of use. Surprisingly, his family have been calm and quiet over what he did. He expected them to react differently when he woke up and realized that he didn't die. Is he happy that he is alive? That's a hard one to answer. He isn't so sure, but he is happy to see Bella again, so he isn't writing off his survival.
But he can write off, seeing her again as the glare she is sending his way isn't promising. "I am not here for your sake. I am here to tell you that you are asshole and a piece of shit."
Edward nods his head in silence. He almost smiles at the anger in her voice. He is happy that she angry. Anger means that she cares for him even if it is only enough to not want to see him harmed. That is more than he needs and deserves.
Bella eyes him suspicious trying to figure out what his game plan is. Edward never operates without one, even subconsciously. He has a plan even when he doesn't know that. He operates with a certain want and a specific techniques to reach his aim.
"Thank you for your presence here any way. You have no idea what it means to me," he tells her after what felt like hours of silence but in reality was a moment.
"Well, it means nothing to me, so don't go building expectations off it," she tells him with a hard voice.
He nods his head then tells her, "I wanted to apologize for sending you the note that I did. It wasn't your job to worry about me or make sure I live. I shouldn't have burdened you like that, or worse made you feel slightly responsible to what I did."
She is shocked by his apology, if her face expression is to go by. "Yeah, it's not my job. You shouldn't have done that," she quips firmly.
He nods his head replying, "You are right in every feeling you have and every harsh thought you think."
She looks around his room and notices the sports television channel with the low volume. "Let me guess, Emmett put it on?" She asks not looking at him.
"Yeah," he whispers laughing lightly at his brother. Emmett was angry at him and gave him a piece of his mind. He also yelled at him for burdening Bella with his suicide the way he did. Every day he shows up and finds ways to punish him. Yesterday, it was the sports channel. Edward didn't bother asking the nurse to turn it off, if this makes his older brother hate him a little less, he will serve his punishment.
"You know, I am not so evil that I think calling your friend to find you is a burden," she tells him defensively breaking him out of the daydreaming he was in.
"I know. You are better than that, but it doesn't change the fact that I gave you a responsibility that you didn't want and wasn't yours," he answers calmly.
"Is this it?" Bella asks him.
Once he nods his head she gets up and walks to the door, but before she exits, she tells him, "The man that night didn't die. I made sure of that before we left. He had to do physical therapy for six month to get back on his feet, but other than that, there was no permanent damage. I wanted you suffer, but obviously you can't handle guilt, but you obviously suffered too hard."
Hello lovely people,
This chapter was late. I am truly sorry. My cousin recently passed away. I feel mostly okay, he was 25 years older than me, so while I always appreciated him as a person, we weren't close and there wasn't much heartbreak there. It was mostly pain for what my aunt is feeling. That said, my cousin was named after my father who passed away five months ago, and so when I was hugging my aunt and she told me that both of them are gone now, it hit me harder than I thought it would and it screwed my mind in a way I didn't see coming.
Some of you wanted to see what would happen between the Cullens and Edward. It wasn't part of the original plotting and I seriously considered adding it, but at the end I decided against that because this story is about Bella, even though at the beginning it felt like it was more about Edward.
