Gaara watched the confrontation from the shadows, ready to intervene should the need come about. After all Kagome was technically a citizen of the village, and it was his duty to make sure all the citizens were safe… or at least he reasoned as much because Kagome was no one special.
"If Airi-sama permits, girl, you are to follow me to her parents," demanded the guard, Gaara did not like his tone but Kagome obediently stood up, the girl still cradled in her arms. Gaara glared at the set they made.
"Gaara-s-sama?" a small voice called from mere feet away.
