This chapter is shorter as well as a different prespective. I
m planning on doing every forth chapter as a different Queen so be prepared for some Queen chapters in the future. As always enjoy!
Chapter 4
Queen Violet
Violet watched as her tribe moved about the streets, hanging strands of colored silks on the lights. Her tribe was starting to celebrate the annual Weaving festival. Silkwings rushed about getting everything in order. Violet walked down the street with her little brother, Neon. He was only a year or two younger than Violet but he was a rather sturdy Silkwing.
"Looks like everythings going good," he walked down with her.
She nodded her head. "So far. Maybe this year will be better than last."
He gave her a kind smile. "Queen Brimstone would be proud of you. It's not your fault."
She shook her head not wanting to get into that. "I heard your dragonets are hatching soon. Don't you want to check on them?"
"Yeah I should," he rubbed his talons together. "I bet Oleander is getting a little worried."
"You go," she laughed. "She needs you more than I need you anyway."
He looked to the palace where he and Oleander lived. "Are you sure?" He looked back at her.
"Of course." she nodded. "I'll be alright. Sable is meeting me soon anyway. He said he wanted to talk about the upcoming festival. I'll be alright."
Neon looked back over to the palace. "I'll be back." he started going back from where they had come from, a landing and take off plaza, and took off towards the palace.
Violet let out a sigh as she watched the world around her fill with laughter, music and decorations. More dragons were out now hanging more strands of silk as well as banners strung across the street lights.
As she walked through, dragons noticed her, gave a bow and a 'hello your majesty' then went back to whatever they were doing.
A dragon came up to her. He sounded out of breath as if he had just flown around the palace and back. "Your majesty." he bowed. "I was looking for you."
"No need to be so formal, Sable. It's just a meeting." she said to him as he stood up.
"Oh er right," he blushed lightly. "Anyway I wanted to speak with you about the festival."
"Yes. What about it?" She kept walking with him by her side.
"I've been talking with a bunch of the vendors. They have said the same thing pretty much. They'll mostly be open selling foods and rare silks." He talked about the festival.
"Any news on Queen Izula?" She stopped and looked at him.
"No. No news I'm afraid." She said solemnly.
"We need to know if she'll show up out of the blue. Should I add extra guards just in case? What if she tries to take us by force again? I don't know if I can do what I did last year. If she tries she'll surely win." Violet panicked. The last thing she wanted was to be known as the queen who let her tribe get taken over.
"She won't attack." Sable tried to calm her.
"How do you know she won't?" Violet countered.
"I have faith," he shrugged his wings. "She might be a strong Queen but we are a strong tribe."
Violet nodded her head more to herself. "I hope you're right. For all of us."
