Author's Note: And now for the thrilling conclusion of the Murder Family episode!
And to Boss Teal the relationships will be poly. I think it would make for an interesting story.
Chapter Four: Murder Family Part 2
Xandar's P.O.V:
I open my eyes, and I instantly feel pain on the back of my head. It felt like I was on fire. I go to stand up only to realize I couldn't. Why can't I move. I look down and see that I'm tired to a chair. What the-
I turn my head, and grunt, even that hurt. I see Moxxie who wakes up as well. "Moxxie?" I ask in shock.
Moxxie seems tired and turns to me. His eyes widened. "Xandar?" He asked in shock. "W-what's going on?" He inquired seeming scared. As if on cue, we hear a door open and see the two kids. They had sickening grins on their faces. "Hey there little ones," Moxxie says with a fake smile. "Aren't you c-" he's cut off when the two kids both talked in unison.
"It's nice to have a new critter to play with," They said. In that moment, I felt a chill. Moxxie looked up and so do I. What I saw? Well, let's just say when I saw cooked meat on the table I realized what they were made of...and what this family truly was.
"Oh...crumbs," Moxxie says realizing the danger. Before we can say anything else, we see a faint glow in the room. That could only mean one thing...
"Millie!" Moxxie shouts in terror. He looks at the girl who brandished a hunting knife. He glares. But before anyone could say or do anything, I break free from my ropes and run up to the kids, who looked at me in shock.
I don't normally punch kids, but here? I made an exception. I punch the boy and punch the girl knocking them out. Moxxie looks at me in shock. I grab the knife and start cutting Moxxie's ropes.
"Xandar?" He asks in obvious shock. "What-how-" he tries but I shut him up real quick.
"We'll discuss it later!" I say seriously. "Right now, we need to save Blitzo and Millie!" I finish before jumping out the window. When I land, I feel fire in my legs. I ignore the pain and run through the forest toward the light. I hear footsteps next to me and I look and see Moxxie. He's running by my side with a determined look. "Moxxie?" I ask in surprise. He says nothing. Still seeming determined. I sigh and keep running.
"Xandar," Moxxie says and I turn to him. Is he...talking to me? "I'm with you!" He finishes. He then smiles at me for the first time. I smile too. I nod and continue my run.
I hope we're not too late. I pray, we are not too late!
As we continue to run, we hear a voice. "Satan!" The voice shouts. "We return you, your sinful beasts, so that we may continue God's work!"
As we make it I gasp. Blitzo and Millie are on a pyre and the mother throws a torch. The two imps look down in shock, before the flames fully engulf them. For a moment, I didn't speak. We're too late-
"Yeah, sorry. That's not exactly how it works lady," I hear a voice say and see that Blitzo and Millie are alive! But how...oh right, their demons from Hell. I mentally facepalm. "See we're demons, so fire can't exactly hurt us. But, I can fake it if it'll get your dick hard," Blitzo says with a grin as Millie chuckles.
"Oh. Shit," the mother says. She seems to debate something. "Well," she begins pulling out a shot gun. "I'll just shoot ya in your smart ass mouth!" She states. Ohh, this bitch.
"That would be more effective," Blitzo says with goofy grin. My jaw drops. Why would he say that?!
"Blitzo!" Millie yells in annoyance. Thank you Millie! At least someone is making sense. I see the mother lift her gun and take aim, cackling like a maniac. I snap again. With an inhuman roar that startles everyone, even Blitzo, Millie and the mother, I run and tackle her to the ground.
"What the-who the hell do you think you are?" She screeches at me. "Fighting a hero-" she begins before I head butt here in the face. She screams and grabs her nose. Blood is pouring through her hands. I had broken her nose.
I pull her close. "I'm your worst nightmare You bitch," I say lifting her up again and punching her in the face. As I raise my fist again, she kicks me in the groin causing me to fall backwards. I land on my back and she jumps on top of me before positioning her self and pulling out her shot gun.
"You little shit!" She screams at me. "I'll show you who's a b-" she stops and drops her gun. There was a hole where her right eye was. She falls to her side. It took me a minute to realize that she was shot in the head from behind. Where was her eye?
I look at my stomach and see it. "Ah! Fucking gross!" I yell picking it up and chucking it away.
"Moxxie!" Millie yells and I see Moxxie untie both of them. Millie hugs Moxxie as Blitzo falls to the ground.
"Oh yeah, I'm FINE!" Blitzo says in anger. Moxxie helps him up. "Gotta admit...you did good Mox."
"Actually sir," Moxxie began, "Xandar helped me escape." I look at Moxxie in surprise. Did he just give me credit? And a compliment!? "If it wasn't for him-I wouldn't have been able to save you guys."
Millie looked at Moxxie, and then to me. "Ya know Xandar?" She begins and I feel scared for a second. "You're alright. Thank you for helping us."
"You're welcome," I reply. "I'm just glad you guys are safe." She looked at me in surprise before smiling.
"Ha!" Blitzo yelled. "Don't know how to fight, my ass! You did great!" Blitzo said happily.
"Ahem," Moxxie said arms crossed. He glared at Blitzo for a moment and Blitzo grunted.
"Yeah, ok, you did good too Moxxie. Geez, I already fucking said that," Blitzo replied. "Just know, this will be coming out of your paycheck," he added.
"I understand sir. I'm sorry, I put the mission in jeopardy. It won't happen again," Moxxie said in sadness.
"Well it better not!" Blitzo said in anger. "Let's get back."
"Wait sir," Moxxie began.
"Ugh, what is it Mox?" Blitzo demanded. Moxxie seemed uncomfortable. I realize what he's about to do and keep my mouth shut.
"I left something at the house," he began. "I'll be right back.
"Yeah, ok whatever," Blitzo said dialing a number. "Loonie, we're ready to come home!" He said as Moxxie ran off.
Millie looked at me and said, "How exactly did you save Moxxie?" She had a genuine look of curiosity. Too completely honest...I don't know. So I make up an excuse. With truth mixed in.
"I was tired to a chair, and he was too. When I saw the glow of the pyre, something inside of me snapped. Next thing I know, I knock the kids out and cut Moxxie's rope," I finish.
Millie nods. I know she'll be asking the full story at some point, her thoughtful look tells me that. It occurs to me that Millie, Moxxie and Loona don't know the truth. Millie however, seems satisfied with my answer, so she let the matter drop.
Before we can enter the portal, Moxxie runs back. Blitzo chuckles. "Did you enjoy your wank off session?" He asks with a smirk.
"Wait, what?" Moxxie asks in embarrassment. I would be embarrassed too if it was me who handled the evil family and called the police to deal justice the right way. I don't know how I know, but I had a feeling that's what he did.
"Moxxie, I don't care where you come in the living world, just come to your job on time, ok?" He asks rhetorically.
"Yes sir," Moxxie replied. As Blitzo goes through the portal, Millie walks up to Moxxie.
"You ok Mox?" She inquires sweetly. Moxxie smiles and nods.
"I am Millie. I just-" he thinks of the words for a minute. "-needed a little time to process." He looks at her and holds her hands.
"You got a heart of gold," Millie says lovingly. She then grabs his face and puts her's closer. "Just a fuzzy head," she finishes kissing him on the cheek.
It was true. Moxxie has a heart of gold. He helped me. Now I can't help but wonder...if our roles had been reversed. Would he just let me die? I chose not to think about it as the answer seemed clear.
"Hey Moxxie?" I begin and he looks at me with a curious expression. I think of my words. I sigh happily. "Thank you, for saving me."
Moxxie nods. "You're w-" he starts as a police siren is heard. We both look back to see a squad of police officers at the house. There's even a helicopter. I let the matter drop, as I hear an officer shout through a mega phone.
"We got 'em boys!" The voice yells. Well, that's good. At least they'll be brought to justice correctly-
Before I can even finish the thought, I see a bazooka missile hit the house, blowing it up. My jaw drops and so does Moxxie's. I see something hit his face. It's a burnt teddy bear head. He looks disgusted and scared. Yeah...time to go. I grab Moxxie's arm and drag him through the portal.
ZZZ
It was a hollow victory...at least, for me and Moxxie. The imp in question was staring down at a cake in pure depression. Me? I was drinking through the pain. I had a glass of whiskey that was provided to me. Courtesy Of Blitzo. I take a deliberate long sip, allowing the burning, bitter taste to rest in my mouth and throat. I look back up to the banner that read, "Killed The Bitch," in pure disgust. Though I would NEVER let the celebrating imps see it. Henceforth, the drinking.
Millie in question was giving Moxxie a celebratory kiss and said, "My Moxxie was great!"
Blitzo then replied, "And he learned not to fuck up!"
Millie nodded before stating, "And we learned that killing a family isn't bad if they try to kill you back!"
The demon who hired them, Mrs. Mayberry, as I just found out gave her response. "That's messed up...but I payed for it!" She finished laughing and everyone else joined in.
"Yeah," Blitzo continued. "Fuck that family!" He added with another chuckle. He then grabbed a cup of whiskey he had poured a few minutes ago. "I propose a toast! To Xandar!" He said gaining my attention. "Who I thought was a whiny, pathetic little bitch," he began. Oh, you flatter me.
"But!" He continued as Millie, Mrs. Mayberry and even Loona turned to me. "He's got more fight than I thought. And Xandar..." he trails off giving me a smile. "You're alright."
"Yeah! A truly good one!" Mrs. Mayberry added.
"A good fighter!" Millie said.
"A decent guy," Loona said. I took notice of Loona. She had been staring at me for a solid five minutes...Why would she stare at me? Wait...is she...BLUSHING!?
My thoughts were confirmed when Blitzo said, "Xandar! I give you full consent to date Loona!"
Now I was blushing. Wha??? Date? Second...why would he give me consent to date someone random? A receptionist no less.
I was hella confused.
A little later
I walked up to Moxxie. He still seemed downtrodden. "How you holding up bud?" I ask him. He sighs.
"They didn't deserve it..." he whispered. I sigh. Even though they were cannibals and AWFUL human beings. They didn't deserve to get blown up.
"I know..." I reply trailing off.
"Say Xandar?" Moxxie began. He looked at me in confusion. I refused to look at him. I nod indicating for him to continue.
"Why did you save me?" He asks. I knew this was coming. I just didn't think it would be right now. "You could've left me to die. Why didn't you? I've been nothing but cruel to you."
I sigh. "Moxxie," I begin and he turns to me. "Even though you were kind of an ass..." I stop for a moment. He raised his eyebrow. "Ok, very much an ass. I saw you were in danger so I helped."
"I know that," he replies. "But why?"
"Because even though we're in hell...I couldn't let you be killed. You're a good soul. I know that's weird to say...but you have some, ironic form of humanity. There needs to be more like you."
He was stunned. He didn't seem to understand. Hell, I don't understand it myself. He simply nods and smiles. "Thank you Xandar."
"No problem Moxxie," I say and begin to walk away. I was about to head back to my provided apartment when-
"Hey!" A voice calls after me. I turn to the source. It's Loona.
"Hey Loona," I begin uncertain. Why was she talking to me? Was this about the date comment? If Blitzo put her up to this then I swear to God-
"I'm sorry about what Blitzo said. He adopted me a few years back...so... yeah," she finishes awkwardly. Ok, it's all making sense now. "I mean, ya know...you are cool and all but-" she tries but I hold up a hand in understanding.
"Say no more. You're a hellhound and I'm a human," I say with a chuckle. "There's so much wrong with that picture. I mean, no offense or anything-"
"None taken," she says with a smile. "Besides, you're pretty cool. I'm sorry for ignoring you before. I'm kind of a distant wolf," she explains. I nod in understanding.
"I understand," I reply. "I'm a distant human. So I get what you mean." I laugh and so does Loona.
"Well, I'll see ya around," Loona says before leaving for the night. I always thought Loona was abrasive and mean. But like anyone...she's actually not that bad.
Author's Note: And so ends the Murder Family episode. This was a fun one to write. I've also started the ground work for a potential relationship between me and Loona. Now I know what you're probably thinking. "But Xandar, what about the Loona and Vortex relationship?" Don't worry, that plot point will be addressed as well. For now, I'll see you guys next time and I sincerely hope you guys are liking this so far!
