Hello dear readers. These chapters are much harder to write than I thought they would be. I don't want to do this but it has already begun, so I will work on them as much as I can and hopefully get through this.

As I mentioned in my other story on her, Under the Sea, I will not be putting up new works on this site due to chapters not posting, the site not letting me add new works or chapters getting deleted.

I have more stories on A03 under the same pen name of Mayuna if anyone wants to check out what else I have. I will continue to update the stories I have on here as the site allows me to.

Enjoy!

As Sesshomaru left with Jaken and Haruki Rins loneliness amplified accompanied by an intense sense of loss. Uncertain if it were by the lack of his presence or something else that may be occurring in the compound he pressed on to the Eastern house of the sun.

Meeting with Tadao he had Jaken speak for him addressing their concerns and desire for aid if it should come to that given the correspondence they had received from him.

Without hesitation Tadao set in place the council in his absence and gathered his most trustworthy and accompanied soldiers to travel to Sesshomarus own territory in the west.

Grateful as they left Jaken informed them of which other clan was closest to them to avoid going in circles. The black bear tribe was led by Lord Takeshi and Lady Takeo in the lower northern border.

They lived in natural caves carved in the mountains with the lord and lady living at the highest point. The black bears were large and muscular with most appearing in their natural forms, a few of the stronger ones being the exceptions.

Led up the mountain and announced the clan leaders sat in front of their caves on thrones made of bones and fur.

"Lord Sesshomaru." Lady Takeo greeted with a small smirk. "We did not receive your correspondence that you would be arriving."

"That is because none was sent my lady." Sesshomaru replied.

"Oh, then, to what do we owe the pleasure?" Cocking a brow he kept his eye on Lord Takeshi who didn't hold the mirth his mate did at his arrival.

"My lord is seeking to call upon the clans, packs, and tribes whom have pledged allegiance to the heir master Hisashi to provide aid to the western compound ruled by my lord Sesshomaru and the lady Izumi." Jaken explained. "There is rumor that lady Zero of the far east is planning an attack on my lords territory."

"Will Kirinmaru be joining her then?" Takeshi asked. "I would love to try my hand at beating the old beast."

"No, he has gone into hibernation prematurely due to a battle." Jaken said.

"Damn." Disappointed Takeshi looked to his mate before squaring his gaze back to them. "Zero is no threat, a daiyoukai of your standing Lord Sesshomaru surely could withstand an attack."

"My lord is fully capable of defending his territory single handedly and is coming to garner support at the request of his mate the lady Rin." Jaken defended to be stepped on by Sesshomaru, keeping his foot on his back and pressing down.

"Enough Jaken." He commanded not wanting to bring up Rin to any others at the moment. Her state had turned to panic and it took every fiber of his being not to run to her.

"Ah yes, the lady Rin. A lovely little creature." Takeo commented. "Certainly someone worth protecting." Turning to Takeshi she gave him a look with her eyes telling him to help them.

"Our clan will honor the pact that was made to protect master Hisashi born of the east and the west." Takeshi relented setting his eye to Sesshomaru.

"Furthermore we will garner the aid of our cousin tribes; the brown bears of the islands and the panda clan of the far east." Takeo added.

"Where Zero is from." Haru commented suspiciously.

"There is no love lost between the pandas and the beasts; frankly they cannot stand one another and have been waiting for a reason to go to battle as opponents." Takeo said. "It will make for quite the fight."

"Lady Takeo, arrange the correspondence…" Takeshi began.

"We are avoiding written messages." Sesshomaru said simply.

"Understandable. I will see to it the information is relayed in person by our most trusted clansmen." Takeshi offered.

"It is appreciated. Thank you Lord Takeshi, Lady Takeo. I will by taking my leave." Sesshomaru bid turning his heel to leave on Jakens back.

"Farewell Lord Sesshomaru and good luck in your journey. We will see you on the field of battle." Takeo dismissed.

"Yes, you will." Sesshomaru stated as they left Jaken crushed and out of breath still before the thrones.

Having made it to nearly every territory that had pledged their allegiance to them Sesshomaru raced home to the west leaving Haru and Jaken behind.

Rins fear was palpable, she was in a state of overwhelming panic and severe distress that left Sesshomaru fearing the worst. He berated himself for being gone so long, for not taking Rin and their pups with them.

He should have sent her away, forced her to return to Kaedes village to be safe but knew now those thoughts wouldn't help any at all. What was done was done and they would deal with what would come.

In his pure energy form he saw the landscape becoming familiar to him and soon he was soaring over the trading post, the smell of smoke hitting his senses hard.

Pushing forward more he looked down to see two sides of demons clashing together using weapons, claws, and teeth on the outskirts of the compound. Great snarls, growls, and shouts reached his ears and he felt sick to think that Rin was in the middle of it all.

Bringing his attention up he felt his heart sink. The main house was on fire. Touching down in front of it he made no hesitation to run inside past the burning deck and breaking down the front sliding door.

"Rin!" He called out. "Rin!" Holding his arm to his face in the black choking smoke he felt the heat of the flames as the sitting room became unfamiliar, the walls and ceiling were devoured by the fire with pieces falling down.

Running to the bedrooms he found them empty and felt relief that there was no one inside. Going back to the sitting room he heard a small sound among the roar of the fire and cracking wood.

Grasping the table and tossing it aside he saw Emi cowering underneath it in her demon form, a small dove with her feathers singed and her head hidden under her wing.

Picking her up he held her carefully in both of his hands exiting the house.

"Lord Sesshomaru." Turning he saw Jin more worse for wear with bloody bandages across his torso and wrapped around his hand.

"Where are the females and pups?" Sesshomaru practically snapped.

"Your pups were sent to safety some time ago. The females have run with Kino and Mitsuo to hide." Jin said quickly.

"Take Emi, make sure she is safe." He ordered drawing Bakusaiga.

"Okay." Jin agreed taking Emi from him and running to the back.

"Oh what a mess! What a mess!" He heard Jaken holler some distance away. Clashing swords with a few opponents they were quickly dispatched as he made his way to his faithful servant.

"Jaken, find Rin!" He commanded.

"Yes of course my lord!" Jaken complied running back in the direction of the forest. Sesshomaru covered his escape feeling some relief over the fact that Rin was nowhere near any of this, hopefully.

"Lord Sesshomaru!" He heard Riku call out to him. Glancing quickly to his right he saw the elder male running towards him.

"Where are our people?" Sesshomaru asked as opposing soldiers took notice of his presence and began to advance on them.

"Scattered throughout the territory. The east arrived and Tadao is holding position in the north. A scout arrived in the beginning to announce the arrival of the black and brown bears. They are holding back the worst of this." Riku informed.

Gripping the hilt of Bakusaiga Sesshomaru was at odds with himself as what to do. He could easily dispatch the enemies with a stroke of his sword and end it all quickly.

Slashing at an opponent with his claws as the soldier attempted to come at him from the side he became angry over his indecisiveness, it was not in his nature to think twice.

Not knowing where the other members of the compound were however made him hesitate and not want to act so brashly. What if he summoned an attack of great power and wiped out his own people, those who had been loyal to him and loved Rin beyond measure.

"The females have fled. There is nothing here worth protecting." Sesshomaru said. "Captain, we will dispatch these demons before us to hold the line so they do not advance past us."

"Yes my lord." Riku agreed with some glee. Glancing at him Sesshomaru saw in him for a moment his own father. It was the way his eyes lit up with excitement over a fight and the cocky smirk that spread over his lips.

Twisting Bakusaiga around he unleashed its poison to strike down any who may be unfortunate enough to find themselves struck by it.

Riku held his sword in one hand and struck with his claws with the other as they both held their ground and let the enemies come to them.
