Videl could feel that her features were scrunched up as she did her best not to grip the steering of her jet copter too tightly. Most of all she didn't want to look out of the window of said vehicle while she was in the middle of her flight due solely to the fact she would be looking at him.

When she had approached Gohan in what she had called 'a calm and composed manner' before grabbing him by the arm and dragging him somewhere secluded to chat in private. She had no care for what the people around them thought of the actions because were she to try and approach in a much more subdued or subtle manner it would send the rumour mill spinning.

When alone she had demanded that she follow him immediately and that she had already informed the principal that the two of them were required to be absent from the day. When the principal had pressed Videl on the matter she had declared that if he wanted to ask questions to take it up with her father.

The principal never made that phone call.

It only took a minute for the two of them to be airborne and flying over the city. At first Videl had instructed Gohan to get into the passenger side and fly with her but he had politely refused, stating that he felt more comfortable flying by himself. Had anybody else said that statement, one would have assumed they were referring to their own manner of transport. For Gohan however it now meant that he was currently flying at the same speed as Videl's jet copter while embarrassing the elements face on.

Videl hadn't argued regarding Gohan choosing to actually use his powers as opposed to joining her and now that she had had some time to think about it, she was somewhat grateful. The two of them in such tight confines together, let alone Gohan would have wanted to converse which she had no interest in as of the moment. She needed answers, proper answers. Everything that Gohan had said was probably true, he wasn't one to lie to her. Yet at the same time while it was the truth it didn't mean that it was the whole story.

No more half answers, she wanted to know everything that happened, right down to the smallest detail. No words would do when she could quite literally watch the past with her own eyes. With Gohan by her side, she expected to get a play by play on every moment of the action.

Lifting up her left hand, she rubbed at her eyes before returning her grip. Sleep had been hard to come by last night, understandably so. Having been given such classified information had made it impossible to focus on anything else. This was intel that only a handful of people were aware of. While part of her wished to shout this news to the world she knew that the ramifications would be extraordinary, history would be rewritten and there was no telling how the populace would react.

In her current frame of mind, she couldn't share this news with anyone. Unless something drastic had happened which changed her mind, the world would still believe that her father had been the one to defeat Cell. She had no idea whether that was a good thing or not.

Videl found herself blinking in somewhat confusion as she spotted their destination up ahead, not having realised how much time had passed since the two of them had started flying. Recalling the last time she had tried to scale to the top of the tower and not wanting a repeat performance, chose to land her jet copter at the base.

It was then that she came to the quick realization as to what the final leg of their journey would mean.

Stepping into the fresh air, Videl capsulized her vehicle before putting the small device into her pocket. Turning around, she watched as Gohan landed softly on the ground beneath him without showing any fatigue from the flight they had undergone.

She couldn't help but be curious as to how long it would take before she could cover such distance with ease.

"So what are we doing at the Lookout?" asked Gohan.

Videl was mildly grateful to know that the location had an official name. "I take it you've been here before then," she said before doing her best to prevent herself from reacting to the fact she had said something so stupid. Of course he had been here before. Why would she even think that he hadn't? Dende had mentioned how he knew Gohan personally so of course he had been here.

"It's been a little while but I've been here quite a few times," answered Gohan honestly, not having found any fault in Videl's question.

Videl merely went with it.

"Yes well..." she started before looking away to the side bashfully, muttering something under her breath that Gohan could barely make out.

"Could you repeat that Videl?" asked Gohan.

"Will you...carry me to the top?" she asked of him, still not having the confidence to look him in the eyes while asking something so embarrassing. Seconds ticked by as Videl waited for any sort of verbal answer.

Verbal was not how Gohan responded however, choosing instead to pick her up bridal style and causing her to let out a questioning yelp of surprise. "Hold on tight," he warned before Videl managed to find her voice.

Videl managed to get a single syllable out before she found herself soaring upwards, Gohan gliding higher and higher with ease. Videl momentarily realised that Gohan wasn't going anywhere as fast as he could, something which she was grateful for. Regardless of that fact, she still found herself shielding her eyes from the fierce wind that struck at her body. The fact that Gohan could see at all when going at much higher speeds was a terrifying thought. How did one go about training their eyes to be less resistant to the elements? Was such a thing possible?

Her train of thought collapsed as their incline came to a swift halt before Gohan's feet planted themselves on the squared tiles of the Lookout. Videl swiftly wriggled out of his grip, thankfully landing on her own feet before taking a few steps away from Gohan. She truly hoped the heavy beating of her heart was a result of fear and having been taken out of her comfort zone and not because of the way Gohan had been holding her.

Thankfully a distraction made itself known as she watched Majunior and Dende walk towards them. "How's it going Dende, Piccolo?" asked Gohan casually, walking past Videl as he greeted old friends.

Videl couldn't help but shake her head at the fact that Gohan was casual acquaintances with the creature the world referred to as Kami. Though she wasn't quite sure who this Piccolo person was. Mister Popo had been the person who had taken her back to her home on a magic carpet of all things and the two people in front of her were Majunior and Dende. Although now that she recalled, Dende had made mention of a person called Piccolo when last she was here but she hadn't met him.

Unless...

"It's good to see you Gohan," said the taller of the two as he looked down at the high school student. "Have you been keeping up with your training?"

"Can't say that I have Piccolo, I'm more of a scholar now than a fighter."

Videl made a mental note of two things in that single sentence. One was that, knowing Gohan didn't lie, he really hadn't been pushing himself to be stronger for a good deal of time. That was something which astounded her. Secondly was it seemed the person she knew as Majunior was known to everyone else as Piccolo.

Good to know.

"Well for your sake I hope Vegeta doesn't find out," scowled Piccolo. "You know the first thing he'd do if he ever heard you say that."

"Which is why I have no intention of telling him anytime soon," said Gohan with a smile.

"Now, we shouldn't be rude to our second guest," said Dende, looking straight at Videl. "Greetings again Videl, I hope the day finds you well."

"Ah," said Videl, slightly taken aback. "Yes, and you too."

She really wished she could have hidden in a corner somewhere until her vocabulary came back.

"So what brings the two of you here?" asked Dende.

"Good question Dende," said Gohan before turning his attention to Videl. "What are we doing here Videl?"

Videl took a deep breath in through her nose and exhaled out her mouth, composing herself before answering. "I've been told a lot of different and conflicting things over the past couple of days, weeks even," she said, lowering her gaze. "It's getting difficult to know just what it is that I believe in. As such, with your permission, I'd like to visit the Pendulum Room and watch the Cell Games."

There was a momentary pause before Gohan let out an exhale. "I should've figured it'd be something like that," he said as he rubbed at the back of his head.

"I should remind you Videl that if you choose to go into the Pendulum Room to witness this event, it will be a different Cell Games to the one that actually happened," stated Dende. "The two of you being there to watch will undoubtedly have a ripple effect."

"I'm aware," said Videl, recalling the last time she had entered the Pendulum Room and had spoken with Gohan as a child. "Regardless, it is still something I feel that I need to see, even if it is slightly altered. Considering how my father acted after the Cell Games, I deserve to see it."

"Very well," said Dende. "Are you comfortable with this Gohan?"

"I..." started Gohan before closing his mouth. Videl turned her attention to her classmate but before she had the chance to question him on anything she saw the look of pain on his face. Was he truly that terrified of relieving through that experience? Of course he would be, coming face to face with a world destroying creature would have been a terrifying thing to have gone through.

"It's fine," Gohan finally finished, forcing a smile on his face.

"If you say so," scoffed Piccolo, clearly not believing the words that Gohan had spoken.

"Well then Videl, shall we?" asked Gohan, gesturing for her to lead on.

"Oh...yes," said Videl, suddenly feeling as if she had made a mistake with having brought Gohan along. She had been so focused on her own feelings that she hadn't taken his into consideration. What would Gohan think of her having put him through this? Could this destroy their friendship?

The walk towards the room felt far more daunting than it had before.

...

Videl found herself shielding her eyes from the sun as hot wind struck at her body. The darkness of the Pendulum Room had swiftly shifted to a relatively barren area devoid of much natural life. It seemed as fitting an area as any to determine the fate of the world.

"Who are you guys?" asked a somewhat familiar voice and it took a moment for Videl to recognize the visage of Krillin, the small fighter having turned to face them. In fact, only a couple of people had kept their eyes on the fight and had ignored them completely.

"Friendlys," reassured Gohan, putting his hands out in a sign of peace.

"Wait," said Piccolo, staring at Gohan with piercing eyes. Videl couldn't help but notice that despite seven years having passed, the green warrior looked as if he hadn't aged a day. That included the fact that he still wore the same clothes. "This power...Gohan? Is that you?"

"Yes Piccolo, it's me," said Gohan with a light smile on his face.

"In that case, if you're here, then that means you win!" proclaimed Krillin boldly, pumping his fists.

"Wait? Who's going to win?" asked one of the other fighters who only just turned around to face Gohan and Videl. The man was incredibly familiar to Videl but even more so for Gohan.

"Hey...Dad."

Hope you enjoyed.
