Diaz Residence

It was the weekend and Alisa grumbled as her alarm rang while Eddie laughed behind her. She felt his arms around her pull her closer to him and showered her neck with kisses. She couldn't help but laugh since he knew there was a ticklish spot on her neck. "Okay, I'm awake! I'm awake!" she said breathlessly, "Eddie!" her eyes widened when he switched positions and he was on top of her.

"Buenos Dias, mi amor." he greeted and leaned down.

She cupped his cheeks, "Buenos Dias, mi amor."

They spent some time giving each other kisses before another alarm rang in the room. Thankfully nothing was too heated as they had to get things done today since Abuela Isabel was visiting Christopher today while Eddie was at work. "Go get our son ready. I'll make breakfast." she escaped his hold and laughed at his pout, "I'm making bacon and waffles since it's the weekend."

Eddie wasn't really paying attention to what she said as he unabashedly stared at her putting on his fire academy shirt with a pair of boxers. She shook her head good-naturedly as she exited the room, feeling his eyes on her. "If you're good, maybe later we can do it again." she winked and he smirked in anticipation.

"I'm holding you on to that, mi amor."

The Diaz patriarch got out of bed and headed to Christopher's room to wake him up. "Rise and shine, little man." He melted at the sight of the boy trying to wake up but smiled widely as he saw his father, "Let's do this!"

"Let's do this." Eddie nodded.

While Alisa was preparing breakfast, the father and son duo were exercising in the den. They did it for about half an hour just in time for breakfast. Christopher cheered when he saw the bacon and waffles and excitedly served himself. "Eat up, mijo." Alisa smiled.

After breakfast, they all took their showers and got ready for the day. Alisa and Christopher were just staying home with Abuela so they were just dressed down for home. Eddie had a 24-hour shift so he was making sure he had everything with him but he was looking forward to the 48-hours off where they planned a little outing for Christopher if nothing happens. "Mi Amor, I'm just going to check my email in the office. Christopher is already getting dressed in his room." Alisa informed her husband as she walked into the hallway.

"Okay, Mi Amor!" Eddie replied from the den where he was packing his belongings in his duffle bag.

Entering her home office, she turned on her desktop and waited for it to boot up while she got her things ready for the day. No work was necessarily done but she couldn't help but check her emails in case there was something urgent, or her father and brother decided to send her random emails again in boredom.

DING DONG!

Alisa checked on the intercom monitor in her home office for the person ringing the doorbell. She smiled and called Christopher as she exited her office to answer the door, "Christopher, Eddie, Abuela is here!"

"Yey!" he cheered from his room, "I'm coming right out, mommy!"

"Okay, mijo!" she replied and answered the door, "Abuela! It's so good to see you!"

"Ah, mija!" the elderly lady pulled her into a hug and kissed her cheeks, "It's so good to see you, too. How are the boys?"

Alisa hugged back and kissed her cheek, "They're doing good. Christopher is doing good in school and Eddie is very much in love with his work best friend."

"Don't listen to her, Abuela." Eddie protested from the den where he was making sure he had everything.

"Let me get that for you." Alisa got the box of pastilles from her, "I'll put it in the kitchen."

"Thank you, mija." she smiled and followed the younger female inside their home.

"Bisabuela!" Christopher entered the den happily.

"Mi angel, it's so lovely to see you!" Abuela smothered the boy in a hug, "I brought your favorite pastilles!"

"Gracias Bisabuela! I can't wait to eat them with you and mom, later!" he replied, following her to the kitchen.

"Well, it's time for me to go or I might be late for work." Eddie went to them in the kitchen.

"Have a great day, darling." Alisa smiled as he kissed her goodbye.

"Hasta luego, Edmundo." Abuela made the sign of the cross on his person before kissing his cheek.

"Bye, daddy!" Christopher smiled as Eddie kissed the top of his head.

"Hasta luego!" he went to the garage and moments later, they heard his truck leaving the driveway and driving down the street.

9-1-1 What's your emergency?

Hi! This is Tanya. My friend, Jennifer's head is stuck in a… that thing on the back of a truck? That pipe?

A tailpipe?

Yes! A tailpipe!

Saddle Ranch on Sunset

The 118 arrived at Saddle Ranch on Sunset and Tanya met them at the entrance. The ladies went wild when they saw Eddie and Buck. Both men didn't pay attention to them as Tanya led their team to Jennifer in the parking lot. They couldn't help but stare at the woman whose head was really stuck in a tailpipe as they cleared a path to the parking lot. "Jennifer? The firefighters are here!" Tanya said.

"This your truck?" Bobby asked the guy who was leaning on the back of the truck.

"Yup but I didn't back into her if that's what you're thinking." the guy replied, "She did it of her own volition."

"You dared her to do it!" Tanya exclaimed.

"We were flirting!" The guy defended himself as Buck inspected the tailpipe from under the car and Hen stabilized and reassured Jennifer.

"Your idea of flirting with a girl is daring her to stick her head in a tailpipe?" Eddie couldn't help but ask with so much sarcasm.

"Oh, man!" Buck couldn't help but laugh.

"Hey, Jennifer. LAFD! How are you feeling?" Chimney asked.

"Pretty good actually." she responded, "Except for this ginormous tailpipe around my head."

"Hey, Jennifer," Hen called, "You're going to feel me poking around. We're just going to check you out."

"Alright~" Jennifer replied.

"Why is this thing so large?" Chimney asked.

"It's custom." the guy replied.

"Get me out of here, please." Jennifer said.

Buck slid away from the truck and sat up, "So, these are meant to increase the power to the engine."

"Well, the TSA-230 saw should do the trick." Bobby deduced.

"Oh yeah, like a knife through butter!" Buck nodded.

"I'll get it." Eddie got up to retrieve the equipment.

"What! No! I spent 1200 bucks on that thing!" the guy protested when he saw the saw in Eddie's hands before he handed it to Bobby.

"Well, you might want to close your eyes for this part." Bobby suggested as Chimney placed a turnout jacket on top of Jennifer.

As Bobby was preparing to cut the tailpipe, Tanya was flirting with Buck and asked for his number to which he rejected her politely by saying he had a girlfriend. Her other friend was also flirting with Eddie but he rejected her as well, "I've got a wife and kid."

"Aw, phoo. It's always the good-looking ones." she sighed.

"I think I'm going to puke!" Jennifer said.

"You better not! These fire guys are hot!" Tanya replied.

"Alright, let's move the peanut gallery a few steps back." Chimney guided them a little to the back, "We need a safety zone so we don't accidentally chop your friends head. Everyone, please stay back."

Everyone watched as Bobby began to cut the tailpipe. A couple of minutes later, they were able to take the tailpipe out of the truck and squeeze some lube to separate it from Jennifer's head. She was obviously as drunk as her friends as she stared at them with a smile while Bobby was telling all of them to go to the hospital if she felt sick and they had to take a cab going home. "So, is your invisible girlfriend the reason you don't date?" Eddie asked when he saw Buck about to ask him something stupid.

"That and they aren't my type anymore," Buck replied smoothly.

"That's a weak excuse." Eddie grinned, "You're still living in her apartment."

BZZT! BZZT!

"Hello, mi amor." Eddie answered his phone, "What?... Which one?"

Buck couldn't help but be concerned at Eddie's tone as he walked away from the area.

LA General Hospital

The elevator door opened and Eddie walked out with Buck behind him. They were dressed down in the LAFD shirt and pants but still had their radios on them. His eyes found Alisa who sat in the waiting area while on the phone talking to someone in Spanish. "Tia, don't worry. Eddie is here. Si, si. Hasta luego." she looked up from her spot and waved at them.

"Mi amor, que paso?" Eddie asked and hugged her, "Is Christopher alright?"

She gestured behind him, "Over there, being Prince Charming. He's peachy, don't worry."

The men looked towards the 7-year-old who was brightening the nurses' day. They smiled at his sunny disposition.

"It's abuela. She accidentally fell on the patio when she was calling Christopher to come in from the backyard." she explained, "She broke her hip but Christopher called 9-1-1 and they got there very quickly."

"Is it okay for me to see her?" Eddie asked.

"Not right now because she's sleeping." Alisa shook her head, "Hi, Buck. It's nice to see you again."

"Hi, Alisa." he waved, "At least it's not an earthquake."

"Don't jinx it!" she pouted and he laughed.

"Tia Pepa will pick her up later when they discharge her but Christopher and I will stay with Abuela until then." Alisa explained.

"As long as you're not busy." Eddie held her hand.

"I'm never too busy for family, Eddie. Besides, Christopher also wanted to keep Abuela company and is excited to see Tia Pepa." she added.

"Alright, alright." He sighed.

"Daddy!" Christopher called and Eddie immediately went to him, gathering the boy in his arms.

"How are you though?" Buck asked.

"All things considered, good." she sighed, "I just feel horrible about Abuela. She was so excited about spending time with Christopher today but I guess… old age is getting to her."

"But at least you were home." he noted.

"I'm always home, Buck. I work from home." Alisa gave him a small smile, "Not that I'm complaining but it's been quite an adjustment. It's really by luck that my current work lets me work from home." she watched her husband and son chat, "I became a mother to a 2-year-old boy 5 years ago because his mother couldn't handle a child who presented CP and filed for divorce from a wonderful man soon after. His mother didn't even want custody so they were on their own with a… smothering family until I came into the picture. They changed my life in ways I never thought would happen. Those boys are the most precious stars in my sky and I would do absolutely anything for them. I wouldn't trade them for anything."

"Don't sell yourself short," Buck patted her back, "Eddie talks about you as if you hung the stars in the sky and Christopher knows you're his real mother. His birth mother is just that, an incubator."

"Thanks, Buck." she nudged him with her elbow, "Take care of Eddie, yeah? Take care of each other on the job."

Diaz Residence

Alisa woke up to find her son snuggled against her in bed. Since Eddie had a 24-hour shift at the station, he didn't come home. She stared at Christopher for a while and stroked his curly locks while smiling. She deduced he must have crawled in her bed in the middle of the night, a habit he had when he felt a little clingy after something that made him scared or anxious.

Flashback

Tia Pepa was worried sick about Abuela when she got to the hospital but Alisa assured her that Abuela was going to make a full recovery. Tia Pepa couldn't help but be thankful that Abuela was with her and Christopher as she couldn't begin to imagine if she was alone. "Christopher was the one to call for help, Tia. He's superman." Alisa smiled.

"But you administered first aid, mija." she patted her hand, "I know you miss being out there, you know."

"I would if I could, Tia." she replied softly, "But I had to make changes so everyone doesn't worry, especially Eddie. You know how he gets. I don't regret what I decided."

"But don't forget about yourself, mi sobrina." she reminded, "You'll figure it out."

End of Flashback

Diaz Residence

"Good morning, my love." Alisa kissed his forehead when he felt him stir in her arms.

"Can we stay in bed some more, mommy?" he asked sleepily.

"Sure." she pulled him closer in her arms, "What do you want to do today?"

Christopher yawned and nuzzled her neck, "Visit daddy and Buck at the station!"

"Sounds like a plan, darling." she felt him falling back to sleep, "I think we should bring them baked goods, huh?" she felt him nod, "Sleep well, darling." she kissed his temple again before falling asleep again.

When the mother and son woke up a couple of hours later, they started their day with yoga in the den, Christopher enjoyed it as much as doing push-ups with his dad. Afterward, they had a big breakfast of fluffy pancakes and bacon with a side of fruit then washed the dishes together. "Alright, since the kitchen is spiffy, let's start baking?" Alisa asked, "Or do you want to take a shower first?"

"Let's bake first, mommy." he looked through her recipe book, " Since Buck is v-ve…"

"Vegan." She supplied.

"Since Buck is vegan, can we make these?" he showed her the page, "A big batch, of course!"

Alisa ruffled his hair, "Okay, chef! Let's do it!" she directed him to her phone, "Pick our baking playlist of the day, mijo."

"Yes!"

Station 118

The crew of the 118 was finally able to get a breather after a busy morning. Bobby was in the kitchen preparing lunch with the help of Hen, Chimney was at the table browsing through the web on his iPad, while Buck and Eddie were on the couch playing video games, they were clearly trying to cheat to win. "Mini firefighter in the house!" an announcement was made over the PA.

"DAAAAADDY!"

"Christopher?" Eddie blinked and looked at Buck before walking towards the railing, "Alisa?"

"Hi, daddy!" the boy waved.

"Hello, darling!" Alisa waved as well.

"Is that your wife and kid!?" Hen and Chimney exclaimed.

"Come up over here. You're just in time for lunch, actually." Bobby grinned.

Eddie and Buck used the pole to slide down and went towards the mother and son duo who wore matching outfits. Eddie reached them first and swept Christopher in his arms causing the boy to laugh in happiness then Buck stole him into another hug while Eddie wrapped an arm around Alisa's waist and planted a kiss on her, careful with the box she was carrying. "Now, that's adorable." Buck snickered, taking their photo, "But like… tone it down."

"You should see them at home." Christopher added, giggling maniacally.

"I want that photo, Buckley." Alisa said when she pulled away from the kiss, "or no cookies for you."

"..." Buck immediately sent the photo over, "I can get the cookies now, right?"

"We baked that for you, of course, you do." Christopher pointed out.

"Let's all go up so we can all eat." Eddie herded everyone up the loft, getting the box of cookies from Alisa while Buck helped Christopher up the stairs.

"Grab your seats, everyone." Bobby placed the last of the dishes he made on the table, "Glad to have Christopher and Alisa with us today."

"Thank you for having us, 118." they said together as they sat down.

The couple sat down together while Christopher sat beside Buck, he is now his new favorite person which fascinated people outside of the family. Alisa deduced it was because he was like a child himself and he reminded her of her twin brother. 118 ate and fell into small conversations along with the A-Shift getting to Alisa and Christopher bit by bit. "..." a cold shiver ran down her spine all of a sudden as she thought of her twin brother.

"Mi amor, are you okay?" Eddie asked concerned when she saw her expression.

"Um…" she took out her phone, "Excuse me, I just need to make a quick call. Mijo, finish your vegetables." she received a smile as she went down the stairs.

"Everything okay with her?" Buck asked Eddie.

"She suddenly looked pale… well, paler." Chimney commented.

"Mommy gets like that from time to time." Christopher swallowed his food, "It's her twin senses tingling."

"Twin senses?" Hen and Bobby tilted their heads.

"Yeah, she's a twin. Fraternal twins, she's the younger one." Eddie explained, putting down his utensils, "I'm going to go check on her…"

The older Diaz went to the pole to slide down and look for his wife. His eyes scanned the apparatus floor and found her sitting on one of the benches in the gym. Making his way towards her, he noticed she was nervously chewing on her lower lip, a habit she had when she got anxious. "C'mon, c'mon, answer…"

"Mi amor? Alisa?" Eddie kneeled in front of her and held her free hand, "Everything ok?"

"I… I don't know… I'm trying to find out." she replied while she kept her phone in her ear, "...! TK! Thank god you answered. I… I had a feeling something is wrong… Are you alright?"

TK: Sis… I messed up… I…I'm so sorry… I did it… again…

"TK?" her eyes reflected how scared she felt, "What's wrong? Did someone hurt you?"

TK: I didn't me…. THUD!

"TK? TK?" her voice was caught throat when she heard him fall and his shallow breathing, "Eddie, call dad!" Eddie nodded and called his father-in-law, "TK, if you can hear me, say something, please! Tyler Kennedy!"

"Hello?" Eddie brought Alisa into his arms to keep her grounded, "Owen?"

Owen: Eddie? Why are you calling? Is there something wrong? Alisa? Christopher?

Before Eddie could respond, Alisa grabbed his phone while she handed hers to Eddie, "Dad, I think there's something wrong with TK! He said he did it again!"

"TK, it's Eddie. Please respond!"

Owen: What!?

"Dad, please go check on him! Bring EMS, he's unresponsive. We're on a call with him." she wanted to sob, "I… I'll fly to New York today."

Owen: Ok, ok. Calm down, sweetheart. I'll head on over with 252.

"Hurry, please!" their call ended and she tearfully looked at Eddie, "Eddie, I'm so sorry to do this but I have to fly to New York."

"Mi amor," Eddie hugged her tighter, "It's alright. I can watch Christopher. I understand."

"Mommy? Are you okay?" Christopher appeared behind them in Buck's arms.

"Sorry, he was wondering where the both of you went off to." Buck explained, "It's been a while…"

"Oh, mijo." Alisa wiped her eyes, "No, mommy's not okay but I will be." she stood up and gently grabbed him from Buck's arms, "Uncle TK is hurt… I have to go check on him."

"Oh, okay. He's going to be alright, mommy." Christopher hugged her neck, "But you're not going to be gone forever, right?"

"No, sweetheart. It will just be a couple of days… we just have to reschedule our plans for tomorrow to some other time." she kissed his temple. "Wait… but if I leave and you have work… and Tia Pepa is taking care of Abuela… who's going to look after Christopher?"

"We'll figure it out, mi amor. Take a deep breath." Eddie pulled her into his arms while Buck had to look away to give them some privacy, "I'll look into it. I have tonight and tomorrow to do so." he kissed her temple, "Christopher can stay here with us, Bobby and the chief won't mind."

"Um, guys…" Buck cleared his throat, "I think I know someone who can help." the Diaz couple looked at him gratefully.

"That would be great, Buck. Thank you, thank you!" Alisa hugged him tight, "Can you please connect us as soon as possible? I- I can talk to them so I–"

"Cariño, cálmate." Eddie placed his hands on her shoulders, "We got this. Now, here's what we're going to do. Buck will arrange to meet with them, Christopher will stay with us here," Bobby gave a nod from behind them, overhearing the conversation a little bit, "and you can book your flight, the earliest you can get, while I drive you to the airport after we go home and pack a bag for you. Does that sound good?"

"Okay… okay, cariño." Alisa nodded.

"We're gonna be okay, mommy." Christopher hugged her and they all smiled at him, "Tell Uncle TK everything's going to be okay!"
