Chapter 10: Super Sonic Strikers
it was a peaceful evening in the city of station square, up in the sky tails was flying in the x tornado
"the x tornado seems to be running really great since we installed the chaos emerald. this has to be just about the smoothest flight I've ever been on" said tails
just then the emerald in the x tornado started glowing which got tails attention
"huh i think its picking up somethi- ahhhhhhh!" tails shouted as the x tornado started shaking uncontrollably
"i can't control it its pulling me off course maybe its another chaos emerald" tails thought
tails looked down and saw the plane was being pulled towards a stadium inside it he saw a person waving at him and telling him to stop, tails manage to pull the plane back up right before crashing
"i better get down there" tails thought
after landing the plane, tails went inside the stadium, once he got inside, he saw that the place was a soccer stadium and he was amazed by the view, he looked around and he then saw a man with brownish gray hair, wearing a blue and orange cap, a blue jacket over a white shirt with a red tie, gray pants, and black shoes operating a device
tails was curious and ran up to the guy "excuse me sir hello?, yo!"
"huh" the man said, he looked up and saw tails, he was startled and frightened "ah keep away i don't have any money"
"huh? i'm sorry. it's just, i was in my plane and the chaos emerald started glowing and- don't worry mister, i won't hurt ya" tails explained
the man was a bit confused but took tails word
a few minutes have pass and tails and the man who's name is albert, were on the bleachers and tails explained everything to him
"sure is some story, little fella. never would've guessed that was you flying that plane up there" said albert
"i'm sorry if i frightened you just now, sir. i've never seen a stadium as pretty as this before. you know, the grass is practically glowing" said tails
"thanks for the compliment, lots of folks say the diamond stadium is the best stadium in the world, and that's because its not an ordinary soccer stadium, the turf is artificial and it can change its terrain, in order to make the game more challenging" albert explained,
albert then took out a remote with buttons on them, he pressed one and then slots on the the stadium's turf opened and sand spurt out of it, covered the turf, making it look like a mini desert , albert pressed another button and cold water spurt out of the slots, and it then froze, turning the turf into ice
tails was amazed by this"cool"
"i know right, this was made to make the game more unique , its amazing what modern technology can do, i'm glad i got to be the groundskeeper for this place for 30 years" said albert
"30 years!" said tails
"you bet! only i'm afraid that today's my last day here at the ol' place. you see, the diamond's manager who wants to build an normal stadium with normal turf, due to budget cuts and how expensive this place is, so this place is gonna be demolished. i tell you, leaving this place behind feels like the end of an era. by the way, little fella, did you mention something about an emerald" albert asked
"yeah i'm looking for an emerald called the chaos emerald, like this one" tails said as he took out the green chaos emerald
albert looked at the emerald curiously he then took out the light blue blue chaos emerald "would this be what your looking for"
tails eyes widen "ah the chaos emerald!"
"i saw it laying next to the dumpster a couple of nights ago. wasn't sure what it was" said albert
tails and albert brought the emeralds closer to each other, and too their surprise they started glowing and created a bright light that shot out into the sky, this got attention of the citizens in the city, including knuckles who was watching out from the distance
"i know that light" said knuckles
this also got the attention of robotnik's ship, which was flying above the city
"dr robotnik you might want to take a look at this" said decoe
"What is that light?" said dr robotnik
"it appears to be coming from a soccer stadium" said decoe
"a stadium you say...interesting" said dr robotnik, he then open a large drawer and pulls out a soccer ball
"i have a feeling there's a emerald out in that diamond" said dr robotnik
"you use to play soccer" decoe asked
"no i use this ball for a different reason but since this is a kids show i can't really say it out loud" said dr robotnik
meanwhile at the thorndyke mansion sonic and the gang were having tonight's dinner
"alright first course, which fork and knife do you use" said ella
amy and cream had 3 forks and 3 knives, they picked the ones the farthest away from their plates
"you mean these" said amy
"right such smart and good manners" said ella
"you can thank my aunt for that" said amy
"ms ella do you have any other utensils i can use to cut my food, after watching the dr robotnik show i don't feel comfortable using knives" cream asked
"of course sweetie" said ella
meanwhile sonic was eating an apple with his hands and was chewing it rather loudly and with his mouth open too, which annoyed the others a little
"sonic may you kindly use you fruit knife" said mr tanaka
"nah i'm good i don't see why we have to learn all this etiquette balony in the first place" said sonic
"its called basic manners you should learn them" chris said in a annoyed voice
"well i've been eating just fine my whole life without these "manners" " said sonic
"and yet you wonder why my aunt doesn't like it when i invite you to have dinner with us" said amy
"anyway what keeping tails he should be back by now" said chuck
"not sure i'm wondering that myself, he said he'd be back before dinner" said sonic
just then the gang heard a familiar laughter, out of nowhere bokkun burst their the closed window and took out a surfing board
"cowabunga!" bokkun said as he use the surfing board and slided on the table, knocking all the food of it and ruining it, once he got to the end of the table, he fell of it and crashed into a wall, leaving a crack on it
"my dinner!" ella shouted
"aw man i wasn't done with that steak yet you little creep!" said chuck
"will you stop breaking stuff you jerk" amy said angrily
meanwhile sonic just had an unamused look on his face " dude seriously now your just being an unnecessary pain in the neck" he said to bokkun
"oh sorry didn't know it was meal time" bokkun said, he ate some of the food and then spit it out "bleh you guys actually eat this garbage"
mr tanaka marched towards bokkun "how dare you barge in on us like this, you need to learn some manners" he said
bokkun rolled his eyes "manner this" he said as he took out and threw a strange powder like substance in tanaka's face
"ah i've been attacked!" said mr tanaka
"mr tanaka!" said chris
"are you okay!" chuck asked
"i'm fine however i can't see anything" said mr tanaka
"what did you do!" ella said to bokkun angrily
"ah relax you big babies i didn't hurt him he'll just be blind for a few hours" said bokkun
chris then grabbed bokkun and pinned him on the wall with his bo staff
"look either tell us why your here or go back to the doc in pieces" said chris
"okay okay don't have a cow, man you guys really don't have a sense of humor" said bokkun, he then took out a yellow tv and turned it on, and it showed dr robotnik
"eggman, of course" sonic said as he rolled his eyes
"good evening sonic and other enemies of mine i suggest you all look out your window" said dr robotnik
"window?" said sonic, he went to the window and opened it and everyone saw a bright pillar of light in the distance
"what is it?" said chuck
"i recognized that light" said sonic
"its coming from the chaos emerald" said cream
"your half right cream its not just one emerald, its 2 of them" said sonic
"correct. we both want those emeralds, but why not be good sports about it that's why i suggest you suit up, and meet me over at the diamond stadium" dr robotnik suggested
"diamond stadium?" said mr tanaka
"what for!" said chuck
"i challenge you and your friends to a game of winner take all football!" said dr robotnik
everyone was confused
"football?" said sonic
"i don't know i'm not that good at tackling" said chuck
"no not football you idiot!, foot-ball...as in soccer" said dr robotnik
"you could've just said soccer" said sonic
"i prefer its european name anyway either come here and play the game or i'll just leave with the emerald now, don't keep me waiting" said dr robotnik, the tv then shut off
"hmm never really took the doctor as someone who was into sports" said amy
"yeah same, alright guys if we want to get that next chaos emerald we need to get to that stadium" said sonic
"right but first we have one more thing to deal with" said chris, he was looking for bokkun, but he then saw the little robot on his phone
"hey what are you doing on my phone!" chris said angrily
"just looking at some family photos" said bokkun "dang your mom has some big-
slice
ella slice off bokkun's head with a kitchen knife
"thank you" said chris
"no problem he was getting on my nerves" said ella, she then picked up bokkun's head and threw it out the window
"boo you guys are lame!" bokkun shouted as his head landed in another person's backyard, which had a hostile dog in it
sonic was running towards the diamond stadium and the rest of the family were in the car, driving there, meanwhile in the stadium, the light the chaos emerald's were making vanished and albert was wondering what the heck just happened
"what just happened there little fella" albert asked
"that always happens when chaos emeralds come together. i just hope the wrong person didn't see it" said tails, he then heard a laugh, he then saw robotnik in his egg mobile landing in the stadium, he noticed that the doc was wearing a soccer coach uniform
"well if it isn't mine flying foxy high flying friend" said the doctor
"dr robotnik!" said tails
"where's the rest of your team its almost game time, could it be that sonic and the rest have forfeit, must say that's very unsportsmanlike of them, if there one thing i hate more than that meddling hedgehog its quitters, oh well if they won't play then i automatically win the emerald" said dr robotnik
"forget it i won't give'em to you" said tails
"i wasn't expecting you to" said dr robotnik, just then robotic hands came out of the egg mobile and they tried to snatch the emeralds, tails dodged it however it snatched the blue emerald from albert
"oh no he's got the emerald!" said tails
"what the w-whats' going on here anyway!" said albert
"its none of your concern, if you know what's good for you, you'll get lost" said dr robotnik
albert stood his ground "i'll have you know that i'm the groundskeeper of this place so in a way your standing on my property so no i won't leave"
"oh yeah that mean's so much" dr robotnik said sarcastically, he then look at tails,"now then either give me your emerald or i have my egg mobile's arms rip your tails off"
"i'll like to see you try and take it from me" said tails
"fine have it your way" said dr robotnik
the robot arms on the egg mobile extended and tried to grab tails, but out of nowhere, knuckles showed up and smash the robot hand
"that was close. you all right?" knuckles asked
"knuckles am i glad to see you" said tails
knuckles looked at robotnik "well, look who it is. i like your costume"
"you again, and what brings you here doing sonic's dirty work" said dr robotnik"
let's get out of here, tails" said knuckles
"okay" said tails, just then tails and knuckles saw a blue light running around bleacher's and then around them, it stopped revealing sonic
"sonic!" said tails
"good to see your okay, i was wondering what was keeping ya" said sonic, he then saw knuckles and smirked "well look who decided to show his face after basically disappearing, where ya been knucklehead"
knuckles shrugged " oh you know not much, just working my butt off and searching every corner of this world to find the emeralds so we can go home, however i wasn't able to find any yet...so how's you been any luck finding more emeralds since i last saw you"
"other than the one we found here in the stadium no, but we have been doing great we made some new friends and the other day we went out to the beach" said tails
knuckles raise an eyebrow "well its nice to see you guys been goofing off and taking a vacation"
"oh yeah coming from the guy who still hasn't found a single emerald yet," said sonic
knuckles growled and looked away with his arms crossed
just then chris and the rest of the family showed up
"well, if isn't sonic and the others i thought you weren't going to show up, so i took one of the emeralds and i was just collecting the second but now that you're here, maybe we can play ball" said dr robotnik
"right but first 2 things, first of all your in no shape to play this game, you don't look like you exercise a day in your life and second of all what's stopping me from taking the emerald from you" said sonic
"well to answer your first question, i won't be playing i'm just gonna be the coach, and to answer your second question, while you guys weren't looking i injected nanobots into that groundskeeper fella that will instantly kill him with one push of a button" said dr robotnik
"what!" everyone shouted
"what!, where" albert said panicky, as he patted his body
"so unless you want this innocent man to die, you will play this football game" said dr robotnik
sonic saw the worried look on albert and tails face, he then sighed "fine will play"
"excellent" said dr robotnik
"you know your a real sicko, you know that" said sonic
"oh stop your making me blush" said dr robotnik
"alright lets get this over with" said sonic
"all in good times, my speedy little opponent. but first, let me introduce you to our fellow teammates" said dr robotnik
just then a big black ship flew above them, and a bunch of robots, wearing soccer gear came out of it, and then metal sonic was the last one to came out
"metal sonic so your playing huh...well at least this game will be somewhat exciting" said sonic
metal sonic scoffed "please you think you think your the only one who doesn't wanna waste time playing a stupid soccer game i seriously don't get why we can't just run off with the emerald" said metal sonic, just then he got electrocuted, robotnik took out his electrocution remote
"what have i told you about questioning my plans!" robotnik said angrily, metal sonic growled in response
chris raised in eyebrow "huh funny i thought after you tried to kill sonic without his permission you would have been and even more hot water with the doc"
"oh he was but don't worry i forgiven metal for his stupid actions" said dr robotnik
"as if your forgiveness means anything to me" metal muttered
"anyway not too shabby, eh now why don't we knock off the pre-game ceremonies and get to the reason we're all here. it's now game time" said dr robotnik, just then decoe and becoe appeared,
"lets play ball" decoe and becoe said together
"wait you can't have your game here!" said tails
"wait now i'm more of a baseball guy but i'm bit of a soccer fan myself" said chuck
"huh" said tails
"a nice friendly game of soccer sounds like a great idea to me" said chuck
"but...but chuck" said tails
"ah, so you're chuck, are you? well, it's a great pleasure to finally meet you. a ball game must sound most exciting after being cooped up in that laboratory of yours day after day
"your one to talk" said metal sonic, which led him to being electrocuted again
"metal you are literally asking for it!" robotnik said angrily
"worth it" metal muttered
"hey, if you want to have a ball game, then you have to have it some place else! isn't anybody listening to me" said tails
"no cause nobody cares about your opinion" robotnik retorted
"neither yours" sonic responded as he threw a ball a robotnik's head
robotnik growled but decided to let it slide
"well, robotnik if the others are up-court, i would be more than happy to accept your challenge" said chuck
"but you can't have your game here! you're going to ruin all the beautiful turf" said tails
"what's that loud-mouthed fox getting so bent out of shape for" said decoe
"who knows" said becoe
"hey! i'll have you know this stadium means a lot to my friend" said tails
"it's okay, tails" said albert
"huh?" said tails
"only a matter of time before it's demolished anyway..plus like i said the turf is artificial so there no ruining real grass" said albert
"alright if you say so" said tails
"have i seen you somewhere" chuck asked
"maybe during the seventh inning stretch. my name's albert butler. i'm the head groundskeeper here" albert explained
ah! i thought you looked familiar, i've seen you on television! you were good friends with the owner of the diamond, elmer johnson, right?
"wow, you know him?" said chris
" yeah but elmer and i don't talk much anymore" said albert
chuck then started sobbing which made chris cringe
"this is such an honor to think that get to play baseball on the world famous diamond sta-ah!" chuck said as he dodged a bullet which was from robotnik's pistol
"stop your blubbering and let's play football!" robotnik shouted
" okay were ready" said amy
"how do we play" cream asked
"its easy, just get the ball into the rival team's goal and don't let the other team steal it from you, oh and don't let them get the ball into your goal" said chris
"have you ever played soccer chris" sonic asked
"yeah actually i'm part of my school's soccer team so i have a bit of experience in the game" said chris
"alright, everybody, time for the chaos emerald soccer playof-" chuck started but was interrupted when robotnik pushed him away
"it's the first annual robotnik intergalactic football challenge" said dr robotnik
"this is sad" said knuckles
"that's an understatement" said chris
a few minutes later the 2 teams were getting ready, sonic and the gang were putting on black and white soccer uniforms, while chuck and tanaka were wearing coach uniforms
"so i'm gonna be the goalkeeper" said cream
"yep your job is to make sure the rival team doesn't kick the ball into our goal" said mr tanaka
"i'll do my best!" said cream
"so uh tanaka how are you suppose to do any coaching if your still blind" sonic asked
"not to worry sonic back when i was an assassi-er i mean ninja i was skilled enough to ki-i mean knock out enemies blindfolded, so as long as i can hear my surrounding i'll be fine" said mr tanaka
"right...so tails this friend of yours said this stadium is capable of changing of terrain" sonic asked
"yep that's what he said" said tails
"yeah its what made the diamond stadium so popular" said chris
"sweet looks like this game gonna be pretty interesting" said sonic
"take this seriously sonic, we need to win this game if we want that emerald" said knuckles
"and knowing robotnik he'll most likely try to cheat so we need to stay on our toes" said chris
everyone nodded, just then albert walked towards him
"sorry you guys are being forced to play this game, i still don't know how that doctor was able to inject tiny robots in me without noticing" said albert
"ah no need to apologize i was kinda bored today anyway and don't worry were not gonna let the doc hurt you" said sonic
"yeah and were gonna win this game, and get that emerald" said tails
albert smiled "i'm sure you will, i'm glad i'll be able to witness one more game at this stadium"
meanwhile on the other side of the stadium robotnik was talking to his team of robots
" remember whoever wins the most goals for the team will win the greatest award of all...my respect, and the one who scores the least will be dismantled and be put in the spare parts room" said dr robotnik
"great pep talk" metal sonic said sarcastically as he walked away
"why must he always be so snarky with me" said dr robotnik
"well sir you did create him to be just like sonic" said decoe
"yeah...maybe i should've left the personality out" said dr robotnik
few minutes later, the game began, the 2 teams got onto the field, the soccer ball was placed in the center, with sonic and metal sonic in front of it, meanwhile, cream and cheese and a soccer robot were guarding the team's goals
"i'm gonna enjoy ripping you guys intro shreds" metal sonic
"ohh i'm so scared" sonic said sarcastically
"lets play ball!" albert shouted as he blew the whistle
sonic manage to grab the ball first and dodged the robots trying to grab the ball from him, metal admittedly ran after him
"sonic kick it to me!" amy shouted
sonic kicked the ball to amy, she dodge the robots trying to grab the ball, she kicked the ball to tails, he was heading for the goal, but a robot snag it from him
"hey!" said tails
just the the robot, who stole the ball, got tackled by knuckles, who stole the ball, he then kicked it to chris, who saw robot's heading towards him
"bring it on" said chris, he ran to the goal, flew past the robots trying to tackle him, he then kicked the ball to the goal, and the goalkeeper robot trying to grab it but missed, the ball got into the goal
"yes!" said chris, the rest of the team cheered as well
"nice job guys were off to a good start" said chuck
meanwhile sonic gave metal sonic a smug look " might wanna save the trash talk for when you can back it up" he said
"don't get cocky the game just began" said metal sonic
robotnik saw what happen and growled, he then got idea
"time to kick this game up a notch" robotnik said to himself, he then looked at albert
"groundskeeper change the terrain" dr robotnik
"sorry but that's only for more experience players" said albert
"oh really well i wonder what my nanobots have to say about that" said dr robotnik
albert sighed sadly and pressed a button on his terrain changing remote
meanwhile the players on the stadium were surprise to see the terrain was changing, slots opened from the floor and sand started spraying out, filling the floor sand, and then more slot's opened, and then cactus came out of them
"what the" said sonic
chuck saw what happened
"i still can't see what happened" mr tanaka asked
"they changed the terrain, to the desert terrain, makes you feel like your in an actual desert" chuck said excitedly
"you not wrong about that" chris responded to him, as he was sweating
"heh gonna take more than a little sand to stop me" said knuckles
the whistle blown and the game started again, sonic grabbed the ball, but metal snatched it from him, sonic's team chased after him, though it was a little harder because of having to drag their feet in the sand
metal sonic was making his way to sonic's team goal, but knuckles, stole it from him, and kicked it back to sonic
"tails heads up!" said sonic, he kicked the ball to tails, tails ran away from the robots trying to snag it from him, while also dodging cactus's, he was about to kick the ball into the rival team's goal, but suddenly one of the robot's extended their arms and stole it from him
"huh!" said tails
just the robot that stole the ball threw it to metal sonic, who kicked the ball into sonic's team's goal, cream tried to grab it but failed
"1 point for team robotnik" said decoe
"hah losers" said dr robotnik
"hey that's cheating!" tails said angrily
"no its not i check the rules, doesn't say anything about not allowing robot's to extend their arms" said dr robotnik
few minutes later the whistle blew again, metal sonic grabbed the ball, sonic went after him, metal was distracted from keeping the ball from sonic, he didn't notice chris stole the ball from him
"thanks for the ball" said chris, he then kicked the ball to amy, and made her way to the goal
"give me your best shot ball boy!" said amy, she kicked the ball to the goal but the goalie robot extended its arms and legs making impossible for the ball to get into the goal, the ball bounce of it and a another soccer robot grabbed the ball and threw it to metal sonic, who once again kicked the ball into sonic' teams goal
amy growled and looked at robotnik "okay now you guys are just flat out cheating"
"she's right you know" said albert
"nobody asked you!, my game, my rules and i say change the terrain again" said dr robotnik,
albert know he had to do what he says, he pressed another button, and then the terrain started changing again slots opened on the floor again and cold water sprayed, it froze turing the terrain into ice,
"its the ice terrain!" said chuck
"next time give us a little warning that your changing the terrain" chris said as he shivered
the teams got back to each other sides, the whistle blown again, and metal grabbed the ball first however both teams were having trouble keeping their balance on the ice, many of them kept slipping, however sonic, chris, and metal sonic were having better luck
"good thing i learn how to skate back at ice cap zone" said sonic
"yeah i've took skating lessons myself" said chris
sonic skated toward metal and snag the ball the from him
"what the" said metal sonic
"hey metal looking for this" said chris
metal sonic saw chris running away with what he thought the ball, he ran toward chris and tried to grabbed it but his hand went right through it
"huh !" said metal sonic
chris pressed a button on his watch and the ball disappeared "holograms, works every time" chris said with a smirk on his face
sonic was the once who actually had the ball, ran to the goal and kicked it but the goalkeeper robot kept blocking it and throwing it back, sonic then got an idea he ran around the ball fastley and it was sent in the air, he then jumped and kicked it with a lot of force, the goalkeeper robot try to block the goal by extending, its arms and legs again but the ball went too fast and it went right through him and into the goal
"alright another point for our team!" said chuck
the rest of the team cheered
"hey you use your super speed that's cheating!" said dr robotnik
"no its not the rules didn't say i could use my super speed" sonic said smugly
dr robotnik growled angrily, but he then got an idea
"i'll be right back" dr robotnik said as he ran off with a smirk on his face
the game continued, team robotnik scored another goal, the next round came and the whistled blown, sonic got the ball first and kicked it to amy, she then kicked it , a robot tried to grab it but it went right through him
"oops sorry" said amy
knuckles got the ball and ran to the goal, he dodged metal sonic and the other robots, that tried to grab it, he saw one of the robots try to shoot a laser at him, but he punched it before it could, he then strongly kicked the ball and it went into goal
"hate to say it but that's a point for sonic's team" said decoe
knuckles smiled and waved as the other cheered for him
"nice job guys were tied!" said chuck
"hey who's that" amy asked everyone saw the news women scarlet and her news crew were in the stadium
" good evening, ladies and gentlemen. this is scarlet garcia with a live report from diamond stadium. there appears to be a most unusual soccer game happening right this moment. the notorious dr. robotnik and a team of robots are playing a game against sonic and friends here at the stadium, the soon-to-be former home of the diamonds. this is certain to become sports history. this is scarlet garcia reporting. stay tuned to SSTV for continuing coverage of this momentous game" scarlet explained
just then scarlet and the camera man jumped as the camera got shot with a bullet
"aw man that costed a lot of money" said the camera man
turns out the bullet came from robotnik
"hey this is a private game get lost!" said robotnik
"well where did you run off to egghead" sonic asked
"none of your business rodent, just focus on the game" said dr robotnik
the next round began, but first the terrain then changed again, the slots on the floor opened and mud sprayed out of it, and it covered the floor
"hope none of this ruin my uniform" said amy
"well are shoes are already goners" said chris
"hey i didn't give you permission to change the terrain yet" dr robotnik said to albert
"well we were on that ice one for a while, gotta keep the game fresh right" said albert
'we're closing in on them now let's give it our best shot tanaka!" said chuck
"yes sir" said mr tanaka
i'm putting in a kicker for you, its cheese" said chuck
"what now?" said tanaka
"chao!" cheese said in excitement
the whistle blown and sonic kicked the ball to chris, who kicked the ball to cheese, who then ran to the goal, robots tried to tackle him, but had a hard time because of his small size, even the goalkeeper robot had a hard time seeing him, cheese kicked the ball under the robots legs, and it went into the goal
sonic and the gang cheered,
"nice job cheese" said sonic
"chao" cheese said happily while being covered in mud
just then robotnik took out his pistol and shot the goal keeper robot
"you worthless loser you call yourself a goalkeeper" said robotnik, he then looked at becoe, "becoe your taking his place"
"but sir i don't know anything about being a goalkeeper" said becoe
robotnik then aimed his pistol at becoe
"well i wise man did once say always try new things" becoe said nervously as he ran to the goal
"the next round began, metal sonic got the ball and was running to sonic's team's goal
"oh mr metal sonic...could you...maybe not kick the ball to hard i never played before" cream said with puppy dog eyes
metal sonic seemed unfazed" i'll admit your adorable, wanna know what's even more adorable that you actually think that would work on me", he then kicked the ball, cream almost missed it, but luckily she manage to grab it with her ears, she then threw the ball, which sonic grabbed
"thanks for going easy on me mr metal sonic" cream said innocently
metal sonic growled, while robotnik shook his head in disappointment
"i can't believe i'm actually saying this but i'm starting to miss mecha sonic" said dr robotnik

the team was surprised the stadium's seat were filled with people, helen, frances, and danny were in it as well

"where did all these people come from" albert said, he noticed robotnik growl in anger and he then took out a strange remote with a red button on it
"time to wrap this game up" robotnik said sinisterly, he then pressed the button
the slots on floor opened and too both teams, and the audiences surprise lava started spraying out, covering the the turf with puddles of lava's
"what the heck!" said chuck
"is that fricking lava!" chris shouted
sonic's team looked at albert
"albert what the heck!" tails shouted
"h-hey don't look at me i didn't do that, lava is not even suppose to be in the system" said albert
"oh i added that, you all were wondering where i went earlier , well i went underground and added some of my own features to this stadium's terrain changing system, good thing i made my robot's fire proof" said dr robotnik
"your a complete psycho!" amy said angrily
"your just realizing that" said dr robotnik
"don't worry guys we got this" said sonic
"sonic think about this for a second you do realize that if even a drop of that lava gets on this were goners" said knuckles
"relax all we gotta do is stay concentrated" said sonic
"you really think we can do it" said tails
"of course we can tails we came this far it be dumb to just give up now" said chris
"right so lets get out there and do are best" said sonic
the team smiled and nodded
meanwhile albert was trying to pressed the ice terrain button on his remote to get rid of the lava but one of robotnik's robots stole it from him and gave it to the doc
"hey that doesn't belong to you, that's diamond stadium property" said albert
"sorry but your not controlling this game i am" said dr robotnik
the final round began and the whistle blown, sonic grabbed the ball first, he ran and dodged, the rival team robot's the lava puddles, and the lava spray out of the slot's, he kicked the ball to tails, who then saw lava rock being shot out of the slots
"you can't be serious" said tails, he dodged the falling rock's and kicked the ball to amy, who also dodged the lava and robots, however metal sonic flew by and stole the ball from her, he ran to the other goal, and kicked it however cream then kicked it back and knuckles grabbed it, robots covered in lava tried to dogpile on him but knuckles dug into the ground and the robots fell onto their face,
knuckles dug out and kicked the ball the chris he ran to the goal, while dodging lava, 3 robots tried to attacking him, he then got idea, he kicked the robot in the air, and took the 3 robots out with a spin kick, chris caught the falling ball with his knee, he then kicked it in the air again
"sonic!" said chris
"on it" said sonic, he jumped in the air, towards the ball, metal sonic followed him, the 2 threw punch and kicked at each other, they both grabbed the ball
"let go!" metal demanded
"sorry buddy no can do" said sonic, he kicked metal sonic off, and delivered a strong kick on ball, and it was sent flying towards the goal, metal grabbed the ball and tried to stop it, but it knocked him away, and it flew into the goal
"yeah! !" chris said excitedly
"we did it we won!" said tails
"wahoo" said amy
"yes" cream said as he hugged cheese
knuckles gave a nod of approval
the team smiled as they heard the audience cheer them, however they were surprise to see robotnik was clapping
"well done sonic you won fair and square, and since you won its time you now get you re award" said dr robotnik he pressed a button on hsi remote and even more lava sprayed out and it started to fill the turf and corner sonic and the gang, audiences either scream or having worried looks on their face
"have fun burning to death ha ha ha" said dr robotnik
sonic and the gang were surprise by this, the lava started cornering them, how were they gonna get out of this
"oh no were doomed too bad none of can fly" tails said sarcastically, he then have a smirk on his face "oh wait" he said he then use his tails fly, he then flew to robotnik, and snatched the terrain changing remote from him
"hey give that back you little pest!" robotnik said angrily
tails pressed the ice button and the lava shut off and then cold water sprayed out, cooling the lava down and turning it, into rock
sonic and the gang sighed in relief and the audience cheered
tails landed back to the ground " you guys okay" he asked
"yeah thanks" said chris
"nice fast thinking tails" said sonic
tails smiled "no biggie" he said
the gang then heard robotnik laughed, they saw robotnik in his egg mobile flying away
"you may have beaten me in football, but with this shiny blue chaos emerald snuggled ever so safely in my pocket i'm the real winner after all aren't i ha ha ha, oh and by the way i never injected any nanobots in that groundskeeper guy, that was a lie i made up on the spot, so i could get you guys to play, looks like that echidnas gullibleness is starting to rub off on you guys" said dr robotnik
"what was that!" knuckles said angrily
chris then took out his bo staff, he pressed a button on it and a small missile came out at the top of it, a trigger appeared on it as well, chris then hold his staff like a bazooka
"hey robotnik you forgot your trophy!" chris shouted, he pulled the trigger and the missile fired, it hit the egg mobile, robotnik screamed as his egg mobile fell out of the sky, everyone flinched as they heard a loud crash, they looked up and saw dr robotnik flying with a jetpack and was covered in ashes
"next time you see me your gonna wish you didn't do that" robotnik said angrily, he then flew off
"nice shot" said knuckles
"thanks" said chris
"geez chris i don't mind you teaching the guy lesson but didn't to try to kill him" sonic said jokingly
chris shrugged in response
sonic then saw metal sonic looking at him, he let out a "hmph" and then flew off
"hey wait up" decoe and becoe said as they left the stadium and ran after them
sonic and the gang saw chuck and tanaka running to them
"nice job everyone" said mr tanaka
"um mr tanaka were over here" said chris
mr tanaka realize he was facing the wrong way
"oh sorry i think its gonna be a while before this blindness were's off" said mr tanaka
"anyway you guys did great out there" said chuck
"thanks but the bad new is robotnik ran off with the emerald" said amy
"and it turns out the doc didn't even injected nanobots into that groundskeeper guy, so basically this whole game was for nothing" knuckles said angrily
the gang then heard the audience go wild and cheer for them, that made them all smile
"well i wouldn't say it was for nothing" said sonic
"no way it wasn't for nothing, i still can't believe i actually got to play a game at one and only diamond stadium!" chris said excitedly
"i still believe i actually got to coach a team at the diamond stadium, better hope sam doesn't learn about this, he always wanted to play a game at the diamond stadium and he'd be furious if he knew we played a game here without him" said chuck
"too late!" sam shouted from the crowd
meanwhile scarlet and her camera man came down to the turf, she looked at the cameraman's new camera
"as you can see, there's been quite a turnout for this event. the game was, of course, the last to be played here at the stadium." said scarlet, she looked to her left and gasp "could that be"
just then a man entered the stadium, he had white hair and beard , a light blue jacket over a dark blue shirt with a yellow tie, light blue pants, and black shoes,
"its elmer johnson!" said chris
elmer walked up to albert i was watching at home. "i must say that was quite a remarkable game. it's all thanks to you, al, and i- well, al, i can't help but think how much you've done for the diamonds over the years and what a great friend you've been" he said
"thank you" said albert"i'm thinking about moving the diamond turf's technology over to the new stadium intact. i sure could use your help" elmer explained
"sure thing" albert said as he and elmer shook hands
"congratulations albert" said tails
"thank you tails, its because of you and your friends that the diamond stadium will continue to live on" said albert
sonic and the gang smiled
"well everyone we may have lost the chaos Emeralds, but I think we've learned an important lesson about working together, and I'm sure you'll agree, we'll be even stronger next time we face robotnik" chuck said confidently
"i'm sure we will chuck...so since we won do we get a trophy" sonic asked albert
"i don't see why not" said albert, he walked towards a closet that was filled with trophies, he picked out a nice looking golden one and handed it to sonic
"here you guys you earned it" albert said proudly
sonic and the gang looked at the trophy
"wow its really shiny" said cream
"sweet" said chris
"alright everyone i wanna take a picture of you guys so we can remember this for a long time" albert said as he took out a camera
sonic and gang, including chuck and tanaka huddled up together by the trophy and smiled as albert took a photo of them, they then all waved at the crowd who was cheering for them
