Chapter 5
Stolas stepped out of the portal with Octavia and Loona following after him. In front of them was a big building. They looked up to see a neon sign with the words "HAPPY HOTEL" on it.
"This must be the place," Loona said.
She looked over to Octavia and walked over to her.
"So, is it true?" Loona asked.
"Is what true?" Octavia asked, turning to Loona.
"That the Princess of Hell hasn't given up on this whole... "redemption" train of hers?" Loona asked.
Octavia looked at the building from top to bottom and sighed. "I don't know..."
"But your dad said that you and the Princess were childhood friends," Loona said. "Isn't that right?"
"Yes, but... it's just..." Octavia sighs again. "It's been a long time since we've ever seen one another. I'm not even sure if she'll even recognize me in my outfit."
Loona nudged Octavia with her elbow.
"Oh come on, you two are both immortal beings that have lived longer than me and the rest of I.M.P have. There's no way she wouldn't be able to recognize you when your face hasn't even changed," Loona said in an effort to cheer Octavia up.
Octavia looked at Loona before smiling.
"Maybe you're right," Octavia said. "Though, I'm not sure if she'll notice the crown on my hat."
They both looked to Stolas, who was staring at the building for over a minute now.
"Uh... dad?" Octavia asked.
"Huh?" Stolas turned his head at a 180-degree angle. "Yes, Via?"
"Are you ok?" Octavia asked.
"Oh it's nothing, really," Stolas said. "I was just uh... admiring the aesthetics of the exterior."
"Yeah, if you could admire a boat sticking out of a building as part of the architecture..." Loona said. "You're sure the Princess built this by herself?"
"Nope, Lucifer built it," Stolas said. "I heard this used to be a summer home for him and his family."
"A summer home?" Loona asked. "Well that's just—"
The ground began to shake as a loud rumbling sound could be heard. The trio felt the ground shaking beneath. Octavia lost her footing and fell on one knee.
"What's going on?" Octavia asked. "An earthquake?"
"Why would there be earthquakes now of all times?" Loona asked.
The ground stopped shaking and all was silent. Stolas, who had lost his own footing and fell on his back, got up and looked towards the direction of Pentagram City. The white in his eyes had turned into dots. He felt something that sent chills down his spine. For a brief moment, it felt like an intimidating presence had washed all over him.
But now it was gone, along with the earthquake that had passed.
Minutes earlier...
Lucifer called out Michael's name through the old Enochian tongue that he still knew before his banishment from Heaven. He's still got it, but he could tell that his Enochian was getting pretty rusty.
An astral projection appeared before him and it was that of Michael, his brother.
"Michael," Lucifer said.
"Lucifer," Michael responded. "Tis good to see you after all this time."
"Spare me the pleasantries, Michael," Lucifer said. "I know an angel—no, a group of angels had come into Hell recently while I was tending to more important issues."
Michael showed no response. He had a cold, expressionless look on his face.
"I am well aware of that," Michael said. "But be assured that they were not there to cause a disturbance."
"I'm not stupid Michael," Lucifer said. "It's about the fact that they went ahead and blessed my daughter's hotel!"
Michael raised a brow.
"So if you know about that, then why are you calling me?" Michael asked.
Lucifer balled one of his hands into a fist, but he kept his cool.
"I'm calling because I want to make it clear to you that I will not stand by and watch as you fill my daughter's head with nothing but your lies," Lucifer said.
Michael sighed, looking at Lucifer in annoyance.
"Were you not the one who deceived Adam and Eve into eating the Fruit of Knowledge?" Michael asked. "I and the others have no intention of deceiving your daughter."
Lucifer grits his teeth. "Then tell me why a group of angels were down there, blessing my daughter's hotel!" He demanded.
Michael was silent for a brief moment before sighing.
"To help her," Michael answered.
Lucifer felt anger surge into him. His black wings flared out of his back as his eyes turned red. The room around him began to shake. Michael stumbles as the ground shakes.
"HELP HER?! LIKE YOU HELPED ME?!" Lucifer yelled. "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT WHEN NONE OF YOU HELPED ME!"
"Lucifer, listen—"
"NO! YOU LISTEN TO ME!" Lucifer continued to rant. "All I did was prove to him that his creations were flawed! I proved him wrong! I showed him just how flawed humanity was! I proved to him that humans were always doomed to failure!"
Shadowy tendrils crawled up from the ground as the shaking intensified.
"What did he do to me then?" Lucifer said.
"..." Michael was at a loss for words.
"He... he cast me out, all because I exposed his one mistake," Lucifer said, raising one finger before he clenched his fists. "And what did any of you do when he did this? What did you all do?!"
"..."
"NOTHING!" Lucifer yelled. "ALL OF YOU DID NOTHING! ALL OF YOU ABANDONED ME! NONE OF YOU CARED!"
"Lucifer, you're being irrational!" Michael said.
"ME?! FOR PROTECTING MY DAUGHTER FROM THE LIKES OF YOU?!" Lucifer said. "I WILL NOT LOSE MY DAUGHTER TO ANY OF YOU! I WILL NOT LET YOU TAKE HER FROM ME!"
He began to gasp for air. He took several deep breaths as the shaking started to stop. Lucifer looked at Michael, who looked at him with surprise. Michael had a sorrowful look in his eyes.
"So... you still haven't forgiven us for your fall from grace..." Michael said solemnly. "None of us wished for your falling to happen."
Lucifer could see the sorrow In Michael's eyes. Lucifer couldn't care less if his brother had any regrets.
"Like I give a damn about that anymore," Lucifer scoffed. "I bet he's watching us having this conversation right now, the cocky bastard..."
Michael sighed. "You have no idea how much has changed since then..."
"Changed?" Lucifer asked. "What do you mean that things have changed up there?"
Michael still had that look of sorrow in his eyes. Lucifer was starting to question if something really has happened in Heaven ever since he was banished from it. He asked Michael again, and this time, he responded.
"After your... rebellion..." Michael said. "Our father... he... he is..."
"Spit it out already," Lucifer demanded. "I want to know what happened. What did father do?"
Michael took a deep breath. "He is gone."
Lucifer looked at Michael in confusion. His brows were raised and he slightly raised a finger.
"He's... what?" Lucifer asked.
And for the first time in his life, he saw Michael's face turn into that of rage.
"I said he's GONE!" Michael yelled, his voice booming past the field and causing the room to shake.
Lucifer almost lost his footing and almost met the crack that was made from the constant shaking of his rant earlier. Lucifer took a moment to recompose himself and looked at Michael dead in the eyes, his anger being swapped out with pain.
"He's gone?" Lucifer asked. "No... No! No no no no no!"
He shook his head in disbelief. God was gone? He who is the creator of the known universe, gone? Impossible. Utterly impossible. Lucifer couldn't believe that God of all things just left. It cannot be true. God would never leave this world behind. What reason would he have to do so? What would make God leave after all this time? Lucifer became enraged again. There is no way God can just leave! Not after everything that has happened! He did not get stuck down here in Hell for all of eternity so God can just leave!
"He can't leave! He's God!" Lucifer said.
"Brother," Michael said. "He witnessed his own children slaughter one another in a single rebellion that has scarred Heaven itself. All of Heaven was almost destroyed in the blink of an eye and all he could do was watch as everything spiraled out of control."
"But he can't just leave... he... he can't!" Lucifer said. "He made the universe! He made us! He created Heaven, Earth, and Hell with his bare hands! He could never just abandon his own creations like that! It makes no sense for him to just leave like that!
"Lucifer, no one has seen God for thousands of years," Michael said. "We all have to face the facts. He is gone from this universe and has left us behind to pick up the pieces."
Flames came out from the ground. Lucifer's anger was about to explode yet again.
"This... this is all... BULLSHIT!" Lucifer yelled, throwing an apple-shaped fireball at a wall. "WHAT GAVE HIM THE RIGHT TO LEAVE LIKE THAT?! I SPENT AN ETERNITY IN HELL AND HE JUST LEAVES?!"
Michael was silent.
"I turned this desolate, inhospitable, damned wasteland into my own damn kingdom, and now he... he's... he's gone..." Lucifer said. The fires around him begin to recede. "Is this some kind of sick joke? Some 'divine prank' that he came up with? Because if it is, I am not laughing!"
"Lucifer..."
Lucifer's rage died down. He fell to his knees, his wings retracting and the tendrils sinking back into the ground. His eyes went back to their yellow color. He got on his hands and knees and pounds the floor with his right hand. Sadness began to take hold.
"Bring him back... bring him back!" Lucifer said. "Bring that selfish, arrogant, bastard back, Michael! You're the most powerful of us, it can't be impossible for you!"
"Lucifer... I can't," Michael said. "It would take a grand miracle to do that... and I am no miracle worker. There isn't a single soul in either Heaven, Earth, or Hell that can make such a miracle happen."
Lucifer stopped banging his fist on the floor. He looked up at Michael. He needed to know what was going on in Heaven. Michael did mention something about picking up the pieces.
"What happened after he left?" He asked.
"With him gone, I've been left in charge of Heaven, whilst our siblings began picking up the pieces he left behind," Michael said. "Camael, Gabriel, Zadkiel, Raphael, Jophiel, and Uriel are working hard as ever to help me keep things here in Heaven under control."
"And what about them?" Lucifer asked.
"Gabriel and Camael are working together to keep a lookout in both Earth and Hell," Michael said. "Raphael is still in charge of the healers while Zadkiel is managing the Guardian Angels and the cherubs. Jophiel still has his singing voice and has been managing the forges for quite some time. Uriel is... let's just say he's still his usual, awkward self."
Lucifer pulls himself back together and regains composure.
"So God really is gone then, huh?" Lucifer asked. "Did he even leave a note as to why he left?"
"No," Michael said. "All we have now is just wild speculation and unproven theories. Unless we found anything that might tell us something about him leaving us, there is no way to tell why he left us or when he intends to return."
Lucifer calmed himself down and got up.
"He really is an enigma..." Lucifer said. "Do you genuinely want to help Charlie?"
"Yes," Michael said. "She may be of your flesh and blood, but we were the first to come out from the fires of creation itself and we all carry a piece of our father's flame inside of us."
"Oh yeah, the fires of creation," Lucifer said. "I almost forgot about that for a second there."
He had a hand over his chest. A small part of that fire inside him was there. The rest of that fire had been ripped from him the moment he was exiled.
"I have to go now," Lucifer said. "I've got a mess to clean up."
"Wait, one more thing," Michael said. "Don't let your pride get in the way of being a good father to her."
"To who? My daughter?" Lucifer asked. "I'm not going to end up like our old man."
Michael sighs. "Farewell then, brother,"
The projection fades as the circle fades out. Tears began to stream down from Lucifer's face. The door was thrown open and Lilith came up to him, running towards him with worry on her face. It was probably the quakes that have left her so worried.
"Lucifer, what happened? Half of the Pride Ring is a complete mess and... and..." She noticed the tears. "It went horribly, didn't it?"
"No," Lucifer said, shaking his head and closing his eyes. "'Twas bitter sweet."
Heaven
Michael found himself back in his room. He saw Camael looking over him.
"So, how was it between you and Sammy?" Camael asked. "He's not pissed off or anything, right?"
Michael looked at Camael with a blank expression on his face. His face was pale, a side effect of the astral projection spell he used.
"I told him what he needed to know," Michael said. "Including our father."
Camael frowned at this.
"What exactly did you tell him?" She asked.
"How our father left us after the rebellion," Michael said. "He had no idea about our father leaving us."
"And how did he take it?"
"Let's just say he needs time to think," Michael said. "It's been a long day for us."
"Yeah... I guess so," Camael said.
Happy Hotel, Hell
Charlie was hugging Octavia tightly in her arms. The owl's eyes were threatening to pop out of her skull as her beak was open, trying to breathe in some air as she felt her lungs getting squeezed to death. Octavia was trying to push her back but to no avail.
"It's so good to see you again Via! It's been so long since we last saw each other!" Charlie said ecstatically.
"And I'm... just glad that you... are... doing fine," Octavia said. "Now can you... gulp let me go now. I... can't... breathe..."
Charlie lets her go, leaving Octavia to gasp for air. Charlie caught Octavia as she was about to fall.
"Sorry, I got too excited when I saw you," Charlie said.
Octavia coughs for a bit, trying to catch her breath.
"So... Via, you mind explaining to me how you and her know each other?" Loona asked, smoking a cigarette.
"Actually, we've known each other since we were just kids," Octavia said. "Charlie, this is Loona, she's a friend of mine. Loona, meet Charlie, the Princess of Hell."
"Who also owns the hotel," Charlie added.
Loona coughed out of surprise and looked at Charlie.
"W-Wait, what?" Loona asked.
Charlie holds her hand out to Loona. Loona became anxious and wasn't sure how to respond. She looked at Charlie's hand for a second before grabbing it. She shook hands with Charlie, making the princess smile.
"So... you're the Princess of Hell?" Loona asked. "Honestly, I thought you'd be taller."
"I didn't know you and Via were friends," Charlie said. "So how did you two meet?"
"We met in LA," Loona said. "She kinda ran away from home after her dad and mom got divorced."
"That's not entirely true!" Octavia said. "I just wanted to see the stars."
"And you sure that you had to run away from home to get a peek at the stars?" Loona asked.
"W-Well, my dad forgot to take me to see the stars," Octavia said.
"Because of the divorce?" Loona asked.
"Octavia..." Charlie said.
"Ugh... alright, fine, I did run away from home after my dad and my mom got divorced..." Octavia said. "I just wanted to see the stars and he... he was so preoccupied over the divorce..."
"And I wholeheartedly apologize for that," Stolas said.
"I know Dad, I know," Octavia said.
"Then we met over at an observatory and we just... hit it off with each other," Loona said. "Wanna smoke?"
"Sorry, I don't like to smoke," Charlie said.
"You don't know what you're missing," Loona said.
She turned towards the bar and walked over there. Charlie looked at Octavia.
"So... um... Via, how have you been?" Charlie asked.
"Peachy," Octavia said. "So, would you care to explain how you managed to convince a porn star and the godforsaken Radio Demon to help you out with the hotel?"
"Huh? You mean Angel Dust and Alastor?" Charlie rubs her chin and tilts her head to the side. "Well, convincing Angel was easy. I just offered him a room to stay in and he'd promise to support the hotel. Convincing Alastor, on the other hand, was... something else."
"Please tell me you did not make a deal with him..." Octavia said.
"Oh no, I didn't make a deal with him at all," Charlie said. "If anything he just wants to help me because it's a "fun" distraction from his boredom or something like that."
"The Radio Demon can get bored? Well, that's new," Octavia said. "Look, just in case he so much as tries to do anything suspicious, just remind him who he's working with."
Charlie smiles. "It's nice to know that you're looking after me."
"Hey, hon," Vaggie walks in. "Who's the owl girl?"
"Oh! Vaggie, meet Octavia!" Charlie said. "Octavia, Vaggie."
"Hola," Vaggie said.
"Hello," Octavia said. "Is she a friend of yours?"
"Oh no, she's my girlfriend," Charlie said.
Octavia paused, and her beak opens slightly. "What?"
"You got shot out of a cannon?" Angel Dust asked.
"Yup," Blitzo said, drinking a swig of whiskey. "God, this shit is better than what I usually drink."
"It sure beats hard liquor if you ask me," Angel Dust said. "Beer is no different from piss. A real man oughta drink either whiskey or rum."
"How about I get you some Beelzejuice from Gluttony, then we can compare notes?" Blitzo asked.
"Beelzejuice?" Angel asked.
"Not happening," Husk said. "I've drank that shit before and did not pan out well!"
"Oh come on, it can't be that bad," Angel said.
"I literally threw up after drinking three whole barrels of the stuff," Blitzo said.
"Three barrels?! Just how good is it?!" Angel asked.
"Too good," Husk said. "I ended up getting into a drunken fight with almost everyone with me at the time until Alastor had to drag my ass out of there by the tail..."
Angel was amazed. Now he wanted to have a sip of that Beelzejuice for himself just to see how good it is.
"Personally, I'd prefer wine," Stolas said. "So... Dusty, how have you been?"
"Oh, I've been doing fine lately, especially when my sis showed up," Angel said.
"Your... sister?" Stolas asked. "Oh! You mean Molly, right?"
"Yup, and she brought her boyfriend along," Angel said.
"Was her boyfriend a snake?" Blitzo asked.
"Yeah, Pale," Angel said. "Why are you asking?"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe because that fucker is the reason I'm even here right now," Blitzo said.
"Huh?" Angel asked.
"It was just a simple job of going to some old cottage to kill this one old man," Blitzo said before he gripped the glass tightly. "That was before that bald, Voldemort-looking asshole showed up with his emo buddy and shot me with an arrow!"
"Uh..."
"And then he has the gall to arrest me for "illegally" entering the mortal realm with a gun because apparently, demons aren't even allowed to have guns in the mortal realm," Blitzo said. "Like who the fuck made that rule up?! Thanks to him, I got put on trial, had all of my guns—!"
"Our guns, sir," Moxxie said.
"Wasn't asking you, Mox!" Blitzo said. "Then, I got shoved in a coffin filled with packing foam and you all know what happened next!"
"Right, you got shot out of a cannon and landed right outside the hotel just as he, my sister, and his buddy, Zeke, finished blessing the hotel," Angel said.
Blitzo slammed his head onto the bar.
"If I ever see his ass in Hell, I am going to put a bullet in his kneecaps..." Blitzo said. "He's such a self-righteous asshole..."
"You really hate him, huh?" Angel asked.
"Oh yeah, I really—wait, he did what?" Blitzo asked.
"He blessed the Hotel," Husk said. "According to him, in case the next Extermination comes, the exterminators won't even bother coming anywhere near here and won't attack anyone living here."
"And you sure you can trust his word?" Moxxie asked.
"Well, we'll just have to wait until then to see if he was actually telling the truth or not," Husk said.
"So, what's with the coffins?" Stolas asked. "Why couldn't they have just... you know, teleported you back into Hell?"
"Honestly, I don't know," Blitzo said. "Frankly, all that matters now is that I'm finally back in Hell after being stuck up there for so long."
"Oh yeah, you were in Heaven," Stolas said.
"Wait, you've been to Heaven?" Angel asked.
Blitzo looked at Angel for a moment and collected his thoughts.
"Yeah, and the air is thinner than it is in Hell," Blitzo said. "It's like being high up in the air or something."
"And there were these floating islands that seemed to be everywhere," Moxxie said. "Not only that, the technology up there is far more advanced than what we have here. Everything in Heaven is powered by magical energy."
"So they don't use gasoline or anything?" Angel asked.
"And it's just... clean, unlimited energy?" Stolas asked.
"Pretty much," Moxxie said. "It all felt so... surreal, being up there."
"Like waking up from a dream," Angel said.
"Yeah, something like that," Moxxie said.
Angel looked at Blitzo before making a coy smirk.
"So... Blitzy~," Angel said. "Can I suck your dick?"
Blitzo took a deep breath. "How about no?"
"Oh, come on! Give me one chance!"
"No."
Molly and Emile were sitting on a bed together. Emile was blushing as Molly was seated next to her. She was taller than him by a few centimeters. He was wearing a tank top and some shorts while Molly was wearing a shirt and panties. The boy could never be so nervous whenever it was just him and Molly being in the same bed at night. Amelia had already gone home, as her father was just heading back home. He looked at Molly, who was giving him a reassuring smile. She leaned in and puts one pair of hands on his shoulder and the other pair on his cheeks.
"You're feeling awfully tense honey," She said. "Is there something wrong?"
"W-Well... it's just that I'm nervous," Emile said. "It's been a while since we've done this and it's hard for me to not be nervous, especially considering that you're an idol and all that..."
She giggled.
"I know, I know," Molly said. "Just let me take good care of you."
He closed his eyes as she did too.
They kissed one another and held each other.
The two rolled onto the bed and continued to make out, feeling each other's bodies and pressing their bodies together for warmth. Emile could feel her warm, fluffy body while she felt his smooth, reptilian skin. They continued to kiss each other before Molly licked her legs around Emile's waist. She pulled him deeper into the kiss. Both their wings spread out and wrap around each other, forming what looked like a ball.
The two stopped kissing and looked at each other in the eyes.
"God, Molly, you really are the best..." Emile said.
"Yeah, and so are you~," Molly said. "Say, how about we take it a bit further this time?"
"A bit further?" Emile asked. "But wouldn't that..."
"Oh, come on," Molly said. "It's not a sin if we're doing it out of love."
Emile's cheeks blushed until they turned green as leaves.
"I-I know that!" Emile said. "But it's... you know..."
"I know, I know," Molly said. "If you feel uncomfortable, just hold my hands, ok?"
The door opened up so suddenly and the couple looked to the door. The couple saw an angry Ezekiel who was trying to get some sleep.
"Are you two serious right now?" Ezekiel asked. "Right in the middle of the night while I'm trying to sleep?"
"Uh... s-sorry?" Emile said.
He closed the door and the couple looked at each other.
"Later?" Emile asked.
"Later," Molly said.
