HEROS Central: Glad I surprised you
"What the?" Sam asked. "(Shrieks), please don't hurt me." the young kraken girl pleaded.
She had green-yellow skin and dark green hair that was in two pigtails held together by seaweed.
"I won't hurt you. I'm actually a kraken like you."
The girl took a closer look at Sam, and realized he was right.
"You are a kraken."
"I'm Sam. Who're you?"
"My name's Constantine, but everybody calls me Connie."
"So Connie what are you doing in the bushes?"
"I got washed out of the ocean by that big storm last night. I have no idea how to get back, and I kept running into these scary monsters." Connie explained.
"What monsters?"
"Monsters with wheels, glowing eyes, and strong powerful roars."
"Oh, those were just cars."
"Cars?"
"Yeah, we ride around in them here on land."
"Can you help me get back to my home?"
"I don't know. I mean I can get you back to the ocean by I have no idea where the krakens down there live."
"I'd probably have trouble finding my way from this location. Plus I'm really tired and hungry."
Sam felt sorry for Connie, but then got an idea.
"Hey, I can take you to a safe place." he offered.
"Really?" Connie asked hopefully.
"Yeah, come on."
He got her out of the bushes, and then they hurried off.
They came to an empty house that his mom was trying to sell.
"You'll be safe here." Sam told her.
"But how do we get in?" Connie asked.
"With this."
Sam reached into his pocket, and pulled out a bobby pin. He used it to pick the lock, and they went inside.
"Wow." observed Connie as they went inside.
"Are houses different under the sea?" Sam asked her.
"Slightly."
"You'll be safe here, I have to get back to my house now. But I'll be back later with some other stuff."
"Okay." replied Connie.
And Sam quickly left the house, and hurried back.
Back at the house, the teens had just finished the game.
"Whew, that was great." said Trevin.
"You said it, Trevin." replied Ruby.
"So what should we do now?" asked Margot.
"I say, we use my new ouija board I just got it." Bliss suggested.
"Uh, I don't know Bliss...is it safe?" Ruby wanted to know.
"Of course it is. I use them all the time."
"It...could be fun." Conner tried to reason.
Even though he had uncertainty in his voice.
"Well, to be on the safe side, why don't we do it outside. In the sun." Ruby told them.
She went to open the door, but Sam opened it first.
"Oh, Sam. Are you just coming in?"
"Oh, yeah." Sam said quickly.
"Well we're gonna be outside for a while. Stay out of trouble."
As the teens went outside, Sam quickly hurried upstairs. He grabbed one of his dad's duffel bags, got a pillow from the hall closet, and then a spare blanket. He put them in the bag, and then went to Ruby's room.
After going through her drawers, he found some of her pajamas, it was a blue t-shirt and pink shorts, they'd be big on Connie but they'd do. Nessie walked into the room, and barked. At first, Sam was startled, but then relaxed.
"Shh, Nessie. This has to be a secret." he told him.
Nessie understood, and stayed quiet. Then he went downstairs to the kitchen, and started putting a couple bags of cheese balls, and some sodas into it. Once it was filled enough, he had to get it to Connie. Since Ruby and her friends were in the front yard, he decided to go out the back door.
As he made his way to the house, he thought about telling Ruby about Connie. But then he realized that she wanted him to stay out of her way so she could hang out with her friends. So he decided it would be best to keep this a secret.
When he got to the house, he carefully snuck in.
"Connie, I brought you some stuff." he called.
Connie quickly went over to him, smiling.
"I got some clothes for you wear."
He gave her his sister's pajamas.
"Thanks. Pretty colors." Connie took them, and put them on.
"And I got a pillow and blanket so you can be comfortable, and some food."
Connie opened the bag, and started eating the snacks.
"These are really good what are these?"
"Cheese balls."
"Great, wait till you try the soda."
He opened a can for her, and it to her. After taking a sip, Connie quickly chugged the rest of it down. After burping, she smiled again.
"Thanks, Sam. But now I think I want to rest."
"You can do that, I'll come back when I can. But try and stay away from the windows."
"Don't worry, I will."
And with that, he left the house, and hurried back home.
