It was dark, too dark to see anything around the immediate area. Sonic tried to move, but felt his limbs restrained by some kind of invisible force. He tried to make sense of it all, but none of it did.

"What's goin' on? Where am I?" Sonic said.

"I finally have you now, hedgehog." A gruff voice spoke.

"Who are you?"

"Have you really forgotten me so easily?" Out of the darkness, an outline of a person could be seen, but you couldn't see any details of the mysterious man. "After everything I accomplished against your pitiful excuse of a family?"

"Family?" Sonic whispered.

The man moved out of the way and 3 new shadowy figures appeared behind him. They were all nearly completely black like the first figure, but one was tall and the other 2 were short like him. He couldn't make out what they looked like either, but they didn't look too good laying on the floor unconscious. Even though Sonic didn't know who they were, he felt rage start to boil over in his system.

"Wha- What did you do to them?" His voice slowly turned into a grunt as he finished that sentence.

"The same as I'm about to do to you…" The man pulled out some kind of gun shaped device and aimed directly at Sonic's head. "Goodbye, hedgehog."

Sonic tried to break free to avoid the shot, but the restraints were too strong. His anger was being replaced by fear as he braced himself to face his demise.

"I'm sorry, guys…" He softly whispered before a loud laser shot rang out.

"GAH!" Sonic screamed, causing him to lose his balance on the windowsill. His body fell towards the outside of the window and he slipped out. "Woah!" He grabbed the edge just in time, but his grip was slipping. He tried to use his other hand, but it couldn't reach. His hand lost grip and started to fall from the two story high house. He shut his eyes and braced, but he felt himself being suspended in the air as he looked up to see Amy grabbed his arm. Her eyes were nearly as wide as they could be and her pupils shrank in fear.

"You okay?" She quickly asked.

After they both had a second to catch their breath, Sonic nodded his head and Amy pulled him back inside. Once he was inside and away from the window, he saw that everyone came to check on him. Tails immediately went to his side and held him up as he was struggling to stand from the shock.

"What happened, Sonic?" Knuckles asked.

"Was it another nightmare?" The orange echidna named Tikal added.

"It-It's fine, guys. I was just surprised about what the nightmare was…" Sonic responded.

"What was it about?" Tails questioned.

Sonic didn't reply, he didn't want to reveal his dreams to anyone yet until he made sense of them all. He let go of Tails and Amy and walked to the right side of the table with his hand on his head.

"I just need a sec to get my mind straight, alright?"

Everyone understood his request and they all started to jump off the table to tend to other matters. Tails was the last to leave and looked back in Sonic's direction before jumping off onto the bed. Sonic watched as they left and leaned towards the bookshelf behind him, giving out a long sigh.

The dreams were getting worse and worse. First, it was just weird voices. Then, it was broken images of his lost memories. Now? Now it was a complete dream of him facing a firing squad of one man. He wanted to keep every detail of this dream, but they were fading as quick as the dream was.

He only stopped when the sound of light coughing and moaning caught his plastic ears. He looked around and saw no one nearby who seemed to be in a coughing fit. He tracked down the noise towards the shelves on the wall and climbed up using the desk and drawer to reach it. Once again, another cough could be heard right next to him. He moved a Sonic coloring book and to his surprise, he saw his thought to be lost armadillo friend, Mighty.

"Mighty? Is that you?" Sonic gasped.

"Hey, Sonic…" Mighty replied.

Mighty's body is black with red thick armor, which rounds from his forehead above to his lower back. His tail is black, like his body. His ears are side facing and funnel-shaped and he has a long black nose. His skin color, along with his ears, muzzle, arms and belly were the same as Sonic's. He also wears white gloves with sock-like cuffs, but overall, he was not in good shape. Not only was he covered in dust and left under a book for who knows how long, but he had one of his leg joints almost completely broken and couldn't use it at all.

"What are you doing up here? I thought Scott's mom took you to get your joints fixed weeks ago, Scott was really upset."

"No… She just said that to calm him down and when he wasn't looking, she placed me here behind the book." Mighty whispered.

"Well, why didn't you call for help?"

"I tried, but being stuck behind something as thick as a book can really drown out your voice."

Sonic held him upright as he continued.

"What's the point in prolonging the inevitable? We are all just one snap away from here to there." Mighty pointed outside the window which had a clear view of the lawn, where Scott's mom was hitting some kind of sign with a hammer to push it into the ground. Sonic took a good look at what the sign said and it made him shiver.

'Yard sale…?' he whispered.

Sonic gasped, "Yard sale!"

"YARD SALE!" Sonic yelled to the group. "Everyone, there's a yard sale outside!"

"Yard sale?!" Ray gasped.

"Emergency Roll Call!" Sonic ordered.

Everyone stood up in line next to each other on the floor while Amy called out names.

"Tails?" She first called out.

"Here," he replied.

"Knuckles?"

"Here."

She continued about halfway through and stopped at Tikal when Rouge yelled, "Someone's coming!"

Everyone went back to their original spots, but Sonic had no choice but to stay on the shelf as the door opened.

"Ok, let's see what's up here…" Scott's mom said to herself, holding a box labeled "$0.25".

Everyone waited in fear for what she had in mind for who would end up in the yard sale. At first, she looked under the bed and grabbed some old roller skates and placed them in the box. Next, she went over to the other side of the room and picked up Tikal. She held her for a second before placing her next to her intended item which was a board game that Scott doesn't play anymore. Finally, she looked onto the shelf. She grabbed a few books and trinkets that have been there for months without being touched, but then she grabbed Mighty. "Bye, Sonic..." He whispered. Fear filled Sonic's eyes when he saw her place Mighty in the box as well. He watched her as she left the room, carrying the box away.

"Mighty!" Sonic whimpered. "Ok. Think, Sonic. Think!" He snapped his fingers in realization. "I got it!"

Sonic jumped down, ran to the door, and whistled. A few moments later, a black and white spotted cat with the name tag "Spencer" came over to him. Sonic jumped on Spencer's back and said,

"Alright, boy. To the yard sale, mush!"

Spencer did as he was told and rushed out of the hallway, leaving everyone in confusion.

"What's going on?" Knuckles said.

"What is he doing now?" Shadow grunted.

"Sonic! Come back!" Tails yelled.

Sonic couldn't hear any of this as he rode Spencer down the stairs towards the front door. He slowly pushed the door open and peeked out. He saw Scott's mom place the box a little further down the driveway before walking away.

"Alright, Spencer. Just walk normally towards that box, ok?"

The cat slowly walked down the walkway from the house to the driveway with as little suspicion as possible.

Sonic's friends all huddled up to the window at once to find him from the bedroom. Tails was the first to arrive and pulled out his set of binoculars that came with him in the box to zoom in on Sonic. The rest soon followed.

"Coming through." Knuckles said to Shadow who was in front of him.

"Let me see, let me see!" Amy screamed.

"Is he out there?" Tikal asked.

Tails finished his search when his eyes landed on a black and white spotted cat with Sonic hanging on the side away from the humans.

"There he is!" Tails exclaimed.

Sonic arrived just under the table the box was placed at and with Spencer's help, he was able to jump on top of the table. He saw a man coming down and hid behind a solid vase until he passed. He then ran right up to the box and jumped in.

"He's getting in the box?!" Rouge yelled.

"He just sold himself for 25 cents." Shadow grunted.

"But why would he-" Amy tried to ask before Tails cut everyone off.

"Hold on, hold on, he's got something…" Tails looked closer into the box and saw Sonic peeking out and holding someone over his shoulder. He instantly recognized him and gasped. "It's Mighty!"

"Mighty?!" Ray screamed.

"Come on, Mighty." Sonic whispered.

He jumped down while carrying Mighty and squeezed him in between Spencer's collar. It was hard to accomplish, but Sonic had just enough strength to have him strapped in.

"There ya go, pal."

"Thank you, Sonic." Mighty blessed.

"Alright, Spencer. Back to Scott's room, go!"

The three start to head back towards the front door and everyone at the window cheered at Sonic's bravery. Shadow on the other hand, just stands there with his arms crossed as usual.

"Way to go, Sonic!" Tails cheered.

"That crazy son of a gun!" Knuckles said.

They were about halfway across the pathway Mighty was slowly loosening up from the collar's grip. Sonic saw this and immediately pushed his body back in place, but the timing was very poor. Just as he did this action, Spencer jumped over a misplaced toolbox, causing Sonic to fall off and hit the ground. He looked up and saw his feline friend enter the house alone with Mighty. Sonic stood up and started to run to the door, but he heard a man walking towards him and had no choice but to stay still.

"What's this?" The man said.

He picked up Sonic and examined him, his eyes immediately widened as he saw the medallion on his neck and let out a gasp.

"No way! I found him! I found the Underground Sonic action figure!" he screamed in triumph.

The man gave a smirk as he went over to all the low priced items in an attempt to cover Sonic and pay. Scott's mother walked over and asked if there was anything she could do to help.

"Excuse me, can I help you?"

"Yeah, you can take his hands off my pal." Knuckles grunted from the window.

"How much for all this stuff? I can give ya… 5 bucks for all this junk."

Scott's mom saw a familiar blue hedgehog figure in his arms among the items he was holding.

"Oh, how did this get down here?" She reached for the toy and pulled it out of his grasp. "I'm sorry, this is an old family toy."

"Now just walk away…" Tails whispered, only for the man to follow her. "The other way…"

"Wait, please! I-I'll give you 50 for it." The man pleaded.

"It's not for sale." she asserted as she placed the action figure into the safe where she kept her profits.

"Come on, everything's for sale! I'll give you anything, anything you want!"

"I'm sorry." She locked up the safe and walked away.

"He's safe!" Tails exclaimed.

"Alright!" Ray cheered.

"She showed him." Rouge commented.

"Lady, please-" He stopped and gave out a loud grunt as he turned around to walk away.

"Yeah. Go home, Mr. Fancy Car." Amy mocked.

But that is when things turned for the worst. Tails saw the man stop and gave a devilish smirk like he just got an idea.

"Wait, Hold on…"

"What is it, Tails?" Tikal asked.

The man stepped on a skateboard and sent further back towards the garage as it crashed into some glassware. Scott's mom groaned as she walked over to clean it up, leaving the safe unguarded. At this opportunity, the man starts picking the lock on the safe with a screwdriver he found nearby.

"What's going on?" Ray stammered.

"Oh no, he's stealing Sonic!" Tails screamed.

"WHAT!" Amy yelled.

"S-Stealing?" Tikal gasped.

"He can't do that!" Knuckles muttered.

The man was having extreme difficulty getting through the lock, which bought enough time for Tails to think of a plan.

"I have to do something!" Tails declared.

Tails dropped his binoculars and got up to the edge. He was about to jump onto the tube that was connected to the rain guard of the house, but someone grabbed his arm.

"What do you think you're doing fox?" Shadow said.

"What does it look like I'm doing?! I'm going to save Sonic!" Tails yelled back.

"You're too inexperienced, you'll be caught-"

"I DON'T CARE! I can't just let Sonic be taken away, not after everything he's done for us-!"

"Which is why I'M going."

"What?!" Everyone gasped.

Shadow only grunted as he pulled Tails back and jumped on the tube,

"Shadow!" Rouge called out.

He slid down the tube until he reached the ground and ran towards the direction of the man as he successfully unlocked the safe and sped-walked towards his car.

"Get him, Shadow." Tails whispered.

He saw the man place Sonic in a small carrying bag and put it in his trunk before getting into his car. Shadow got up to the curb and booked it for the edge of the car as it started to drive off. He managed to climb on board and attempted to unlock the trunk. He saw a small button and pushed it, releasing the lock and allowing Shadow to open the trunk very slightly.

"Sonic!" He shouted.

"Shadow?! Shadow, I'm in here!"

"Hang on, I'll- AH!"

Shadow's rescue attempt ended up in failure as a bump in the road caused him to lose his balance and get hit in the face by the door. He fell off and skidded to a halt on the ground. He looked back in horror as the car drove off even faster and the trunk shut from the force of acceleration. He thought it was over, until he saw the license plate. 'KEVSFIGS' it read and Shadow regained his composure and ran down the road back to Scott's house. The other toys just stood there silently in shock.

"Why would someone steal Sonic?" Amy whispered.
