"Artie, can you pull up the camera footage for me, since Ms. Teri doesn't seem to believe me?" Mercedes questioned as she looked at one confused Teri Thespan. Teri Thespan had flown onto their radar after she had insisted that her ex-husband had tried to kill her but it didn't track. He had no prior evidence of being abusive or even being capable of murder. Santan and Harris had asked around, and everyone briefed as a very serving man of his community. He had a good job, supported his two kids, and was a good grandfather. So of course everyone was surprised when Artie was able to hack into the security system and found out that Teri's husband was trying to convince her to put the gun down, however, it didn't work as she shot him three times.

"See Teri, one bullet I could have spun it and had everyone thinking it was an accident, and that you and you were husband were in a slight scuffle, two bullets I could have had everyone thinking you were in an abusive marriage. We would have photoshopped pictures to make it look like you had bruises, and we could have lied to ensure that you weren't treated like a social pariah. But three, three I couldn't have spun that, the DA would have gotten wind of it and sent it to their forensic analysts, and then you would be on a trial for capital murder, and instead of having the luxury of sitting here talking to me and my colleagues in this office, you could have been speaking with us in a jail cell with a glass in between us as you wore orange. So not only did you shoot your husband three times, you lied about him ever putting your hands on you, and you lied about your little lover that lives about an hour out of the city. His name is Norman Jacoby and trusts me if people were to catch wind about you having an affair with a twenty-three-year-old while you are forty then they would have a field day, but since you decided to lie about your husband and what happened there is nothing we can do to protect you because the D.A. Quinn Fabray will be here in the next forty-five minutes." Mercedes spoke.

Teri broke down in tears, "Please I can't go to jail, I have two kids, and both are set to go to college, they just lost their father they can't lose me too."

"You should have thought about that before you killed your husband, now the best we can do is offer you the names of a bunch of criminal defense lawyers, and maybe they can get you off, maybe they can get you a plea deal, or you will go to jail for the rest of your life, and that is if Quinn can find all evidence, and trust me she will," Santana added.

Harris added, "You could run away, go to Mexico, really go farther than that maybe Australia or some far-off island no one has ever heard of, but that would mean no contact with your kids for the rest of your life."

"You might be able to take them with you, but you would never be able to cash in on a life insurance policy, all of you would have to get rid of your phones, laptops, watches, anything traceable, and they would have to forget their lives here, but of course, that is what you wanted right?" Artie said.

"Or un off with Norman and hope he will still want to sleep with you but that would mean leaving your kids behind to wonder why their mom would leave with her younger boy toy after their father was viciously murdered." Mercedes finished. "So what is it going to be Teri?"

Teri looked up at all of them, "I'll turn myself in, but please just make sure my children can live freely, and not have to be reminded of what I did, please they don't deserve any of this."

"We'll make sure news stories will be spun in their favor so they can feel public support and not outrage, we can send in new stories, maybe of them both attending his funeral and your trial but of course, they would have to sit on the side in favor of the justice system, not yours," Mercedes explained. Teri nodded her head and wiped the tears from her face.

"OK, how long until the D.A. comes now?"

Before Artie could answer the elevator dinged and Quinn entered with two cops at her sides, she pointed towards Teri, and as they walked over to her she stood up and complied. She looked over at Mercedes and whispered please and Mercedes nodded her head understanding the unspoken agreement. Once she was pulled away Quinn walked further into the room.

"Thank you all for turning her in, I know how hard it must have been for you," Quinn announced.

"Well, we thought about planning her grand escape but we let her decide her fate," Santana replied.

"I'm sure of it, and just so you know, just because you turned her does not mean you get any favors." Quinn insisted as she walked out.

"Good work team, see you all bright and early in the morning," Harris said as he left and Artie went to his office.

"Wanna have a girls' night?" Santana questioned.

"I can't have that caucus meeting I have to attend tonight."

"Ooo fancy, to see your boo thang."

"He isn't my boo thing Santana," Mercedes insisted.

"Mhm sure,"

"Are you sure this suit is going to be good?" Sean asked Kurt as he adjusted his bowtie.

"I know you are the president and that this emerald green tux jacket, with these black slacks, and a matching green bow tie is going to make you the Charming of the ball," Kurt replied.

"Do you think she is going to be here tonight?" Sean asked referencing Mercedes. "I mean we used to be the triple threat, and now it's like we can't even get back on track, she won't even speak to us."

Kurt sighed, "I do believe that Mercedes is still our friend but she is also being our friend from a distance, honestly Sean you need to be focused on your speech, not on her at the moment." Before Sean could answer Sam Evans knocked on the door and let himself in with a bright smile on his face.

"I heard that you were going to the caucus tonight?" Sam greeted his friend.

"That, and giving a speech will you be in attendance?" Sean asked.

"Of course, but on a social account, no work for me tonight, I'll see you out there." Sam insisted as he headed out.

Mercedes had made it to the meeting and she was dressed in a beige mermaid gown with one sleeve her typical hair was now curled into a claw clip-up do, and her makeup was kept light. As she walked around and introduced herself to new people, and said hello to new friends she looked around and noticed Kurt was standing at the bar while Sebastian was sitting at a table in the far corner. She sighed and walked over to Sebastian and took a seat beside him, who let out a sad smile.

"At least you were able to grace the event," Mercedes spoke solemnly.

"I don't even know why I try Mercedes, he loves me I love him, and yet he is over there chopping it up with some other gentleman. Do you think he is ashamed of me?" Sebastian questioned.

"I think he is afraid of making the final commitment of going public with you, Kurt loves you, and I know he doesn't act like it but he truly does," Mercedes assured Sebastian. Sebastian shook his head and knocked back his drink, Mercedes stood up and waltzed over to Kurt who looked to be in a "friendly" conversation with some other man with too much hair gel.

"Excuse me, but I need to talk to my dear friend alone," Mercedes spoke, the unknown gentleman walked away and Mercedes turned towards Kurt.

"You need to go over there to your husband and declare to everyone in this room that you are madly in love with him, because if you don't you are looking at a divorce where he will be compensated to take everything, and you will just have that office in the White House and no one else. Sebastian loves you and the way you treat him isn't ok Kurt. Fix it." Mercedes hissed, "Vodka on the rocks please." She asked the bartender. When he gave her the drink she tipped him before walking away as she was walking she felt a presence surround her and looked around but didn't recognize anyone. As she kept walking she was pulled into a hallway and when she looked up sure enough Sam Evans was standing in front of her with some schoolboy smirk on his face.

"Do you need to stoop as low as to kidnap me during public events?" Mercedes questioned.

"First of all, I can be here, second of all why are you here?" Sam replied.

"I am here because I can be, now if you excuse me," Mercedes said but she nor Sam attempted to move.

"No one is stopping you from moving Ms. Jones."

"I am aware of that Mr. Evans, however,, you have not moved."

"I am sure you can move me,, Ms. Jones." Mercedes looked up at Sam and noticed his lips and then she heard Sean's voice.

"Mercedes, Sam how do you two know each other?" Sean questioned as he walked over to them and Sam backed up.

"Um, a client of mine actually to put it lightly," Mercedes smiled.

"Well, I have to go and get ready for my speech," Sean spoke.

"Good, we will be out shortly, I just have a few private follow-up questions I need to ask Mercedes about," Sam said. Sean nodded his head and left the two alone and Sam's eyes traveled back to Mercedes.

"You were the woman," Sam said.

"Excuse me?"

"You were the woman who he didn't up with because he lied to the press, he was down for months and I am sure he still is. You came back for me."

"None of this concerns you, and if you are such a good friend to him why are you trying to get with me."

"Because I am a grown-ass man Mercedes. After this whole thing, I will be at your place don't keep me waiting." Sam said matter-of-factly as he walked out the hallway leaving Mercedes stressed out more than ever.
