He let out another groan as he stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his waist and then holding a towel up for her as she shut the water off and wrapped her in a towel. By the time they were dressed and out of the door they barely made it to class in time. Hinata kept her hand on Naruto's leg to keep him from bouncing, though his fingers always seemed to be moving as he tried to take notes. Hinata could tell his mind was in a different world for most of the class though.
"I can skip practice today." Naruto said as they started packing their things up. Hinata frowned looking up at him.
"You can not just skip hanging out with me."
"Well I am, I'm exhausted from yesterday and today is just sparing with freshmen anyway. Let's get some lunch. I am starving."
Hinata shook her head laughing at him as she threw his arm over his shoulder pressing a kiss to her head. They stopped at the cafe on campus and Naruto dragged her over to the booth where he saw Sasuke and Sakura sitting.
"You think skipping practice is smart." Sasuke said almost as soon as they sat down.
"It is mostly for the freshmen today, just tell the Sensei that I had an old injury flare up or something."
Sasuke rolled his eyes as Naruto got up to go to the counter to order some food for him and Hinata.
"See things are going well then?" Sakura smiled over her water glass making Hinata blush.
"Yes, they are."
"Ohh look at that blush." she teased as Hinata looked away
Naruto came back holding a tray of food as he sat down he saw Hinata's blush
"Don't tease my girlfriend." he said glaring at Sakura, causing all three heads to look at him.
"Girlfriend huh?" Sasuke smirked
"Well, I mean that is if that's what Hina wants." Naruto looked at her sheepishly.
"Yeah that's what I want." Hinata smiled brightly at him as he smiled back, kissing her.
"Okay you two you're in public." Sakura giggled as Hinata jumped pulling away as they began to eat their food.
The next two months flew by,between classes,Naruto and friends Hinata didn't think she had ever been busier. Naruto was amazing, always taking her on dates and surprising her with flowers and gifts, like the small silver necklace she was currently playing with. It had the same swirl as his abdomen tattoo. Today was like any other Tuesday, Hinata waited for Naruto to finish practice doing dome assignments, almost running to the door when there was a knock. As she opened it though she frowned when she saw Sasuke. He said hello then walked in to where Sakura was doing homework on the bed.
"Have you seen Naruto? You guys usually walk over together." Hinata looked back at the couple who were both frowning.
"He didn't tell you what day today was?" Sakura asked
"No, I haven't spoken to him today, but he usually doesn't have his phone on Tuesdays."
"Umm, Hinata today is his birthday." Sakura whispered and frowned
"You mean the day his parents…" her voice trailed off as Sakura nodded her head.
"He is in our room. Though he usually wants to be alone."
Hinata immediately went and pulled on a hoodie and leggings. The fall weather already started to get chilly, grabbing her purse and she was out the door and into the night air. She stopped in the small cafe grabbing some food for the two of them before making her way to his dorm.
She had to knock three times before the door finally cracked open. Naruto looked exhausted his eyes were bloodshot with dark circles underneath, his confident demeanor gone his shoulders hunched forward,
"H-hey Hina, I'm sorry, I'm not really in the mood for company."
"Too bad." Hinata pushed past him as she walked into the dark room. She turned on the small lamp on the desk and started laying out the food. "When did you eat?" she turned to him holding the takeout container with some ramen.
"I'm not really hungry. Look I appreciate it but I really just want to be left alone. I just don't feel too hot."
With a sigh Hinata set the food on the desk before taking Naruto's hand looking up at him. His eyes were dull, almost lifeless as he tried to avoid eye contact with her.
"I know what today is." she whispered
Hinata gasped as Naruto's legs almost gave out as a sob broke through, she pulled him to her and then down onto the bed as she held him, letting him cry into her chest. Hinata felt a few tears slip down her cheeks at the sound of him. Soon the sobbing stopped, Naruto's body became heavy on top of hers as she smoothed his hair, her fingers getting out any knots from the blonde locks. Looking at his face she was happy to see he had fallen asleep. She laid there for hours listening to him snore lightly and stroking his face and cheeks. When he finally groaned and shifted his eyes looking up at her.
"Fuck, Hina I'm sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep and to start crying like that I am sorry." he mumbled as he sat up helping her up as well.
"Do not be sorry Naruto, you needed that." she whispered back to him
Naruto swallowed before he crashed his lips to hers, pushing her back down onto the bed as he pulled his boxers and her legging down roughly.
"Naruto, wait." Hinata moaned
"Please." he moaned back his hands sliding up her sweatshirt "I need you, this." his eyes pleaded with her as his thumbs brushed her nipples making her moan, with a nod he kissed her harshly again and thrust into her. Hinata could feel the desperation in each movement, unlike all the other times they made love though sometimes it could get a little rough. This was different. As though he thought this would be the last time they had together. She cried out as she came, Naruto groaning as he released not too long after her walls clamped around him.
After cleaning up some, Naruto got the food Hinata had brought and they ate mostly in silence sharing small glances. As he cleaned up the food she stood pulling something else out of the bag.
"I got you something." she whispered as he sat on the bed, she walked over to him placing both knees on either side of him, his hands going to her thighs, as she opened the small container, revealing a single vanilla cupcake.
"I know you don't celebrate today, and I will throw it away if you don't want it." she mumbled but when she looked at him his eyes had un-shed tears but his smile was wide.
"Thank you Hina."
She smiled as he kissed her, taking the cupcake from her hands as the kiss got deeper, he stood her up pulling her leggings back down as she straddled him again sliding him inside her. This time they moved slowly, Hinata rocking her hips as Naruto kissed her not bare body, the hoodie long gone on the floor somewhere. Naruto sucked on her nipples as her fingers broke skin she was sure as she held his shoulders for leverage. As she came Naruto crushed her to him moving his hips before he lost himself as well.
"Thank god for birth control." he mumbled as they laid in bed.
Hinata felt her body tense.
"Hey what's wrong?" he whispered and she just shook her head
"Just a chill." she mumbled but her brain wandered to when she had gotten her last birth control shot. She started it when she started dating Kiba and had gotten one before school she was sure . She shook her head as Naruto smoothed her hair down pulling her closer.
She woke early the next morning, leaving Naruto a note saying she would meet him in class but needed to go to her dorm to change. As she rushed into the dorm before dumping out the contents of her purse, shakily Hinata moved everything until she found the small card from her doctor and on it was the date of her last appointment.
Sept, 31 1:00pm
Hinata's eyes widened, because she knew she did not go to that appointment.
