Fool

Sango and Miroku look over at InuYasha who is now in desperate contemplation. "InuYasha?" Sango calls him trying to bring him back to reality.

"We need a pig," InuYasha states abruptly.

"What?!" Sango and Miroku respond in unison.

"Unless it's okay for me to rip out Yoshito's heart then we need a stand in," InuYasha elaborates.

"I saw a pin by the west end of the village," one of the Monks offers. InuYasha takes off and the rest of the group scrambles to follow after.

When they catch up to InuYasha he is measuring up a group of pigs lying about in their pin. "InuYasha what exactly is your plan?" Miroku inquires.

"Give Katsumi the pig heart, get Kagome and get out before she can tell the difference." InuYasha explains as he walks up to one of the larger pigs. "Well I guess it's better than no plan." Shippo comments. Miroku nods in agreement with Shippo then they look to see InuYasha now holding a pig heart.

"And what is the plan for that thing that's on your neck and arm? It's getting bad fast." Sango asks with concern heavy in her voice.

InuYasha looks down at his arm; the black markings have crept even further down his arm since the fight. He sighs, "I don't know, but I want to make sure Kagome is safe first" He says to the others.

The group heads back to the stone structure to see what is left on the monks cleaning up the destruction. "Old Man!" InuYasha calls out. Yoshito raises his head, "Yes," InuYasha runs over to him. "Look, I need a piece of your clothing to wrap this in," InuYasha holds the heart up to him, "If we're lucky she'll be fooled and no one has to get hurt…well except for the pig," InuYasha finishes. Yoshito doesn't say a word, doesn't even look him in the eye. He just nods and raises his arm to InuYasha.

InuYasha hesitates for a movement then takes the sleeve of his rod and tears off enough fabric to cover the heart. "Thank you, for not killing me. I'm sure it would have been easier for you, after all you are in this situation because of me," Yashito says to InuYasha

"Yeah, you're right," InuYasha responded in a matter of fact tone.

"InuYasha! I think he was trying to apologize," Miroku says, sounding slightly embarassed.

"No, he was making a statement and I'm agreeing," InuYasha responded.

"If you manage to make it out. Come back here and I'll see if I can purify your arm for you," Yoshito tells him. InuYasha gives a firm nod. Then turns to the others, "Let go," they head out of the village with InuYasha leading, tracking Kagome's scent.
