Waiting…waiting…and more waiting. Kagome now chained up on the floor next to what looks to be a thorn. Katsumi is passing the large immaculate room with boredom on her face. Kagome's eyes follow her back and forth
Let me try one last time to reason with her, or at least get her to tell me what she has planned, Kagome thought, working up the courage to speak up.
"Katsumi," Kagome calls out. Katsumi stops and stares at her down. "Why are you doing this? Why drag InuYasha into this when you could have just killed Yashito yourself?"
Katsumi laughs as she makes her way over to Kagome.
"Simple my dear, I need to teach obedence to my new pet," Katsumi explains with a smirk.
She can't be talking about InuYasha!
"InuYasha isn't your pet," Kogame responds with more vigor.
Katsumi replies with a laugh. She turns away "He's close," says now ignoring Kagome. She takes her seat at her thorn and waits. Suzu and Arata open the large doors and head outside. Shortly after Suszu shouts "He's here Ma'am,"
"Let him pass," Katsumi commands. InuYasha comes running in, "Kagome are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm alright." She answers
He aims a cold gaze at Katsumi. She gives a smile in return, "Do you have his heart, little puppy?"
"Let Kagome go first," He growls.
"Fine," Katsumi waves her hand and the chains fall off Kagome and she runs to InuYasha. Once she reaches him, he tosses the heart to Katsumi, scoops Kagome up and takes off. They make it through the court yard and over the castle wall.
"Run!" InuYasha yells to Miroku, Sango and Shippo who are waiting to go on Kirara. They take off, getting a head start on InuYasha. They make some distance from the castle, then something whizzes by InuYasha's head and hits the ground in front of him with a loud wet thud, InuYasha stops and sees it is the heart. He looks back to see Katsumi looking wrathful.
"Shit." InuYasha says to himself and then takes off again. Kagome looks over InuYasha's shoulder to see Katsumi still on the wall glaring at them. "She's not following us," Kagome says.
"I feel like that might be worse," InuYasha reflects.
They make it back to the village. Now it seems to be only the Monks remaining. When the group asks shortly after they had the villagers evacuate in case Katsumi felt the need to let Suzu and Arata lose to slaughter anyone living nearby. They find Yoshito near what seems to be holding cells.
"How did it go?" Yoshito asks
"She's not happy," InuYasha replies
"Well we should have at least a few days then,she's going to want to think of all the ways she can tear you limb from limb first" says, starting to walk to one of the cells. "Let's start before it gets too late," He says looking back at them. The group follows, Yoshito instruces InuYasha and Miroku to enter the cell with him. Miroku and Yoshito put InuYasha in the shackles that are attached to the wall, "It's just in case something goes wrong," Yoshito explains.
"What?!" InuYasha exclaims. The whole group looks at him alarmed. "Don't worry you'll be fine," Yoshito reasure them. He then shows Miroku the chants that he is to repeat until Yoshito tells him to stop. Yoshito grabs a hand of salt from a bag by him. He tosses it at InuYasha, the moment the grains of salt hit his skin it sets every nerve in his body on fire. He grits his teeth to keep from screaming out in pain. After a while everything goes black. The for a moment it is just darkness and pain. Then InuYasha hears Katsumi's voice.
InuYasha! You think you can make a fool out me? You'll pay my little puppy,
InuYasha hears her laugh in the void. When InuYasha comes to he has been unchained. He is dizzy and nauseous but the pain in his arm has gone away.
"I think I'm going to be sick," InuYasha. Miroku grabs a bucket and brings it over just in time. InuYasha vomits up a black substance. "That's a good sign," Yoshito says. At that moment what Katsumi said comes back to him, "We need to go now!" InuYasha announces to the group.
"InuYasha!" Katsumi's voice echoed outside with rage. She is waiting blad in hand, "My work can't be undone that easily?"
The group faces her outside. InuYasha draws Tessaiga "Yeah Katsumi, I guess you're not as powerful as you like to think" InuYasha yells then charges at her with Tessaiga raised. Before he reaches her he is stopped mid stride, as Katsumi simply lifts her hand. She closes her hand into a fist and flushes of purple electricity run up and down InuYasha's body.
He didn't feel the pain at first. He only saw the purple reflecting in her eyes. Then every inch of his body felt as if it were on fire.
