Scott's mother and father came home around 8:30. Olive was still out and not answering her phone. He had thought nothing of it this morning, thinking his sister had an early morning club. But now he feared that something bad had happened to her. But what they didn't know was the great adventure she was on right now. Their parents just thought she was goofing off with friends, at least that's what they hoped.
"I swear when she gets home, shill be getting the grounding of her life!" Their father, Mr Anderson said, pacing back and forth in the living room. Their mother, Mrs Anderson had a worried look on her face. She wouldn't forgive herself if anything happened to her daughter. Scott was sitting next to his mother, watching as both his parents expressed themselves. Mr Anderson had been pacing the room for a good 20 minutes, it was almost 9, way after Olive was normally home, this just wasn't like her.
"Where could she be, this is not like her to be out this late. She always tells us where she is, why not this time?!" Mrs Anderson said with concern.
"Will Olive be alright? Why is she out so late?" Scot asked as his mother wrapped an arm around her son. She pulled him close, allowing his head to rest on her shoulder.
"She's fine, probably just out with friends." His father stated. Yet something was telling Scott that there was something more to this.
"I think we should put him to bed. It's getting late as it is and it's a school night." Mrs Anderson suggested as she got up.
"What No! I need to make sure Olive is ok!" He protested.
His parents looked at him, both knew their son was worried about his older sister. But he needed rest, they all did. "Now sweetie, it's getting late. Why don't I tell Olive when she gets home to say a quick hello to you? That sound good?" His mother asked. Scott reluctantly nodded his head. "Good, now go get ready for bed, I'll be up in a moment." Scott then got up and headed to his bedroom.
Once he was gone, Mrs Anderson looked at her husband. She spoke softly to not worry her son "What do we do if she doesn't get home soon?"
"If it gets to midnight and she's not home, I'll call the cops. Even go out myself if I have to." Heather looked happy. Both were hoping she would walk-in the door any moment.
"What if she-"
"Don't think like that!" He yelled, startling her. He quickly apologized "I'm sorry, it's just been a long night and I feel it's gonna get even longer."
"It's alright. I'll go take care of Scottie. You wait here for when she comes home." He nodded at his wife's words as she made her way up to her son's bedroom.
Upstairs, Scott was getting into bed. He picked a two piece Mickey Mouse pajamas. He was tired from all the crazy excitement, though it was more like anxiety. He pulled
his Toy Story blanket over him, waiting for his mom to say goodnight. It wasn't long before she came in, sitting down on the edge of his bed.
"Mom. Will Olive be ok?" Scott asked again.
His mother patted his head "I'm sure she is safe." She bent down and kissed his forehead whispering "I love you Scottie, with all my heart."
"I love you too mom" he turned to get comfortable before closing his eyes. Mrs Anderson the got up and shut the lights off, closing the door behind her.
The sun was down by the time they reached the village of Nottingham. She knew they needed to find robinhood, but where was the question? Olive flew low though the empty streets with Jiminy by her side. They looked through windows only to come across an empty cottage. There was no sign of the famous fox or his bare companion little John. In Fact the whole town was quiet, a little too quiet.
"Where is everyone? I know it's late but it's not that late. Is it?" She asked Jiminy.
He looked at the sky, watching the moon as it slowly rose in the sky. "By my judgment it's only 8 pm."
"You don't think something happened to them did you?" In her head she was thinking of all the ways prince John or the Sharif could have used the poor town of Nottingham to their advantage.
"Na, if anything he's probably out in the forest crying about his kingdom. He is probably the last villain you have to worry about." Jiminy said.
"Let's hope you're right." She said as an idea popped into her head. She pulled out the mirror and asked "where is Robin Hood?" The mirror image revealed a castle, the same one Prince John used to reside in before his older brother King Richard reclaimed the throne. "The castle, do you know where it is?" She asked Jiminy.
"If we just follow the trail, we will find it." He said as he took off down the path, Olive following close behind him. It only took them five minutes of flying before coming across the stone castle.
"This must be it!" Olive said as she admired the giant castle. The drawbridge was up so they had to fly over the castle wall to get in. Once on the other side, they noticed the giant door that led into the castle. They landed, with Jiminy on her shoulder, before walking over and knocking. No answer, they knocked again. Still no answer. Though she didn't want to be rude, this was kind of an emergency. And someone had to be inside, the mirror said sir Robin Hood was here after all.
She grabbed the door handle and pulled it open, making a squeaking noise. Inside the castle was a wooden floor covered with a red carpet. The walls were made of stone with a candle lit chandelier hanging from the ceiling. They walk with their guard up as they listen for voices. It wasn't long before they came across a door that held the sound of chatter beyond it.
She grabbed the door handle and shut her eyes, praying whoever was inside was good and not the greedy Prince John. Slowly she opened the door and found herself coming face to face with a bunch of woodland creatures gathered around a table in some sort of celebration. Olive smiled seeing several characters she recognised from the film. Maid Marian, little John, king Richard, and Robin Hood were all present just to name a few.
She waited a moment to see if anyone would notice them, but no one did so she spoke up. "Excuse me." She said king of soft, but no one listened. "Excuse me!" She shouted. That got the room's attention, yet no one looked pleased. She was greeted with looks of either worried or stern.
"Intruders, guards!" King Richard, who sat at the head of the table, shouted. Two rhino guards made their way over to her as Robin Hood stood and pointed his bow at her. Olive put her hands up in protest "please don't hurt me, I come in search of Mr Robin Hood."
One of the rhino guards grabed her wail Robin Hood slowly lowered his bow. King Richard stood and looked at Robin Hood "do you know this young madin?"
Robin Hood shook his head "I'm afraid not your majesty." He turned to olive, "who sent you?"
"Master Yensid," Jiminy replied. All eyes lit up in the room at his name. whispers started to spread rapidly around the table.
"Master Yensid sent her."
"She so young, it can't be."
"Surly she can't be the one."
King Richard looked over at Olive "release her!" The rhino obayed as Olive shook her shoulders from his grip. "Sate your business my dear."
"My name is Olive and I'm the one known as the true believer." She curtsied. The gasp then came from around the room.
"The true believer!" Main Marion covered her mouth in shock as he looked at her husband. Robin Hood gave her a nod as he turned to the King "your majesty, may the believer stay here for the night? I've got something to prepare for her in the morning."
King Richard nodded as he looked at Maid Marian "my dear, could you please show our guest to one of the spare rooms?"
Maid Marian nodded her head "ofcourse." She got up and headed over to Olive. She gestured to her to follow which she did. She led Olive to one of the spare rooms in the east side of the castle. It had a wooden floor, with stone walls. A ginormous canopy bed sat up against the back wall with a red circular carpet underneath. A wooden wardrobe sat against the other wall with a small reading nook hidden inside the wall with a window looking out onto the courtyard. Olive felt pleased to finally have a chance to rest.
"It's not much, but I hope it will do for the night." Marian said.
"Are you kidding?" Olive leaped over to the bed and laid back. This sent jiminy bouncing into the air but he landed on the bed safely. She couldn't help but smile at how comfortable the bed was. "This is more than enough."
"I'm glad you think so. Is there anything I can get you before I go, water? food?" She offered but they shook their heads, still full from the meal at Belle and Beast castle. "Alright, I will send someone up to wake you in the morning. For now, get some rest, it's going to be a busy morning." She smiled before leaving them to rest.
Olive reached her arms out as she sat up and yawned. "What day this had been." She looked down at Jiminy who was just lying there without a care in the world "wouldn't you say jiminy?"
"Indeed" he said with a yawn as well. Olive presided to take off her boost, belt, and satchel before climbing into bed. She made sure to stick to her side as to not crush jiminy on his. "Goodnight jiminy." She whispered before heading off to dreamland.
The next morning, they were woken with a knock at the door followed by a gentle voice "Wake up my child, there's much to be done on this beautiful morning."
Olive let out a yawn as she sat up in bed. She rubbed her eyes as they adjusted to the sunlight coming into the room. When she was fully awake she saw a chicken in a blue dress, lady cluck was her name.
"Good Morning Lady Cluck." Olive greeted.
Lady Cluck greeted her with a curtsy "to you as well, true believer. Now go on and get ready, there is much to be done."
Olive got out of bed, put on her boots, belt, and satchel before grabbing Jiminy, who was up, and placing him on her shoulder. Lady Cluck getured for them to follow and they did. She led them out to the castle courtyard where Maid Marian was waiting under a tree. She sat on top of a picnic blanket with a picnic basket. Olive smiled as they all sat with her.
"Robin will be done shortly, but for now" she pulled out a bowl of berries and some bread and butter from the basket out and sat them on the blanket. Olive and jiminy both smiled at the food, both were famished. Olive took a handful of berries along with a slice of bread with some butter on it. Maid Marian even had a small plate for jiminy, curing the fruit and bread into tiny pieces for him.
"So my dear, where have you been so far?" Maid Marian asked.
"Well I've been to the dwarfs cottage, Pinocchio's village, Belles and Beast castle, the pride lands, the jungle, and here." She then shoved some berries into her mouth.
"And you lad, how's the boy been? Haven't heard much from your parts since, well, the returning of threats." Lady Cluck asked.
Jiminy looks up at the chicken. "He's been doing good, getting used to being a wooden boy once again. I just hope they're doing well. Honest John and his cat sidekick are back along with Stromboli. Along with almost. Every villain in each kingdom we have visited so far." Jiminy then looked at Olive's leg which was almost back to normal. "It's still a shock at how you managed to be injured by wolves rather than a lion, snake, or tiger."
Olive looked down and e amid the healing scar "seriously, still shocked that that happened. That this is happening." She looked back up at the lady's "yesterday was quite an adventure, from the attacks of scar and his hyenas, to Sher Khan and kaa. Yet it was a group of wolves in a dark forest who scared me."
"How kids like you have the energy to do so much is beyond me, but you are such a brave young lass to take on this dangerous task." Lady Cluck stated.
Olive smiled "thank you." They continued to chat and munch on the breakfast till the tall fox in green with bow in hand showed up. Maid Marian smiled at her dear husband and gave him a wave "good morning Robin."
"Morning my dear." He walked over to the three lady's and cricket. He looked down at olive and handed her a bow. "I hear you're in need of a weapon."
Olive's eyes lit up "for me, but I've never used a bow before."
Robin smiled "and you won't need to know with a bow like this."
Olive gave him a questionable look. "What do you mean?"
Robin offered her a paw helping her to her feet. He then handed her the bow once more and pointed at the target across the courtyard. "Go on, try shooting the target."
Curious, Olive took the bow from Robin's paw and looked at the target. She prepared the bow and noticed there was no arrow."don't I need an arrow for this?"
"Why don't you try pulling the bow back." He suggested. Olive did, reaming her bow and pulling the string back as far as it could. An arrow the appierd startling Olive. She let go and the arrow went flying hitting the target. "What the?!" Olive jumped back, dropping the bow to the ground.
"You should have warned her it was magic Robin." Lady Cluck complained.
"That things enchanted?" Olive questioned with excitement and anxiety.
"Yes, now try again. This time see if you can hit the arrow." Robin said, picking up the bow and handing it back to olive. Olive took it and aimed it back at the target. She pulled the string back waiting for the arrow to appear. Once it did she aimed it at the target at left go, the arrow flew slightly off course but redirected itself before hitting the arrow stuck in the target. Olive's eyes lit up at the sight, how could it do that?
"Got to live magic, really must thank Yensid when this is all over." Robin Hood said. "You mean, Yensid created this?" She turned and gestured to the bow. "Sure did, that's not the only magical object he has given out."
Olive was impressed by the magic, no longer frustrated or questioning it. She placed it on her belt of other magical objects. "This should come in handy, thank you." She then looked over at Jiminy who had just finished his breakfast. "Are you ready to head out?"
"Ready as we'll ever be." Olive lowered her hand and Jiminy hopped on before hopping on her shoulder.
Olive then pulled out the mirror and asked "where is the next gift?" The mirror showed a picture of a box full of cookies that said eat me and a bottle next to that said drink me. "Wonderland" they both said at the same time.
Olive looked at the now standing lady's "thank you lady's, for your kind hospitality. But now we must go, until next time." She jumped into the air and gave them a warning "and be careful of prince John, though we haven't seen him he might return."
"Oh don't worry lass, he's learned to not show his face back in Nottingham." Lady Cluck shouted as they took off into the morning sunrise sky.
